  1. Ok, I've tried but this show has lost its heart and humor. And if you're going to kill off characters, make it emotional and make it count! While I have my issues with The Walking Dead, most of their deaths have an impact and drive story. It feels like the showrunners just said "ok, we have to make changes to the show because we have to make changes to the show". This is now just another shiny action show with nothing to elevate it.
  2. I get a "Brad/Emily" vibe from what I've seen of Ben and Lauren which is not a good thing. I think both men picked the "normally unattainable, pure pretty princess" rather than the person with whom they might have had a real relationship. Perhaps Ben and Lauren have a better chance, since it seems like she actually has some feelings for him rather than immediately looking for the nearest exit the moment the ATFR ended as Emily did.
  3. Based on some speculation/spoilers I'm seeing on other boards and my own watching of this show over the years, the F4 will probably break down to Becca, Lauren H., JoJo and Olivia. Becca could get eliminated right before the hometown dates but I doubt it. I think she goes after, with JoJo as F3 (and thus the new Bachelorette) and the final two are Lauren and Olivia. Becca's family was supposedly upset about the way they were portrayed the last time around but Nick's family had to endure it twice so "bonne chance", folks. Just as long as I don't have to watch "the virgin Becca Tilley" agonize over whether she's "in love" with Ben and will accept his proposal (meaning that she's in the F2). Though knowing this show, it will start in the first episode and be the subject of all of her talking heads. Ugh.
  4. And a poster on the other board, who claims to be a friend of hers, confirmed this although this person thought that perhaps Ben was less blunt than RS stated. This poster also stated from the beginning that Becca wouldn't be F1 but wouldn't go into details before RS posted his column. If true, this is now 3 times that the "super-special snowflake that's ever snowflaked" contestant has been shown to be less than perfect. One would think fans would get hip to this and realized that although this is a "reality TV show", very little is actually "real". The success stories come in spite of the circumstances not because of them.
  5. Profuse apologies if this isn't the appropriate thread, but I just read this and feel absolutely sick to my stomach. I remember Gus and Hera from their season and had no idea any of this happened. Major Trigger Warning... Buzzfeed Article on the McLeod Family Tragedy
  6. Yuppers and from what I've read, online fans are already turning against her. Watch her fall from grace just as Ben F. and Emily did when they showed the world who they really were.
  7. Aw, Master Chief finds his in-laws and Tex finds his daughter. Can XO Slattery find out what happened to his family next season? Adam Baldwin needs some emoting to do. It took me a minute to realize who Danny was talking about during the party and yeah the dog finally showed up again! Nice scene between CNO Chandler and Dr. Scott at the end. They finally let Rhona Mitra be all pretty and sultry, though can someone put that woman's hair up and out of her face? I hope the writers take some time and really plot out season 3. This one, while having some great stuff, pretty much felt like they scrambled to come up with some stories.
  8. I like this too. There are currently 62 Arleigh-Burke class guided-missile destroyers (the Nathan James is based on the USS Halsey) in service and these are ships with very sophisticated systems including weapons. It makes sense that the highly trained Captain, the XO and the rest of the crew can more than hold their own against Maryland State Troopers and megalomaniac Russian captains. The Russian Navy during the Cold War were no slouches themselves as they were more professional, better trained and equipped than the their army. The British Navy today is probably on par with our own but bringing the crazy often tends to overshadow good command decisions. (see the Ramseys)
  9. From the moment that the producers knew about Kaitlyn and Nick's previous "relationship" and him wanting to be on the show, there was no way he was getting out of this season unscathed. Remember, Nick is the one who talked loudly and openly enough on an airplane for the a complete stranger to hear, recognize what he was talking about and record the conversation to spoil Andi's season. (Ironic, that Kaitlyn spoiled her own season through the same type of stupidity.) I don't think the producers would have let Nick leave before being at least the F2.
  10. I don't necessarily think that everyone who isn't infected is immune. IIRC, the Nathan James was 4 months "radio silence" on its mission to the Artic while Dr. Scott looked for the primordial. The Russians attacked and she was forced to tell the truth. And then it took what 4/6 weeks for the rest of Season 1 to happen and for a cure to be developed? In the meantime, we were told that "80% of the world's population was infected" and then "Wolfman" told the crew that at first they just heard about some strange flu and then all hell broke loose. But did we ever get a full picture of where the infection was the strongest, the "white zones"? Certainly dense population centers such as DC, Baltimore, Norfolk, London, Paris, etc were going to be hit first and hard. And warmer climates (southern states, tropics, deserts) are breeding grounds for viruses. But what about those in cooler/cold climates or less populated areas? Or those who fled the cities such as the Captain's family? They didn't get infected until leaving to search for food. Plus the virus is going to react differently in different people. The elderly and the young will die first but others may linger for weeks. We saw Dr. Scott giving sick people the cure on the streets of Baltimore. Certainly there are many, many others in various stages of infection who could/will be saved. And there will be secondary waves of infection as more people who hadn't previously come into contact with sick folks, do so. So the big bads this season are doing the same as Alfre Woodard did last season. She wanted to give the cure to those who she deemed worthy of saving while these folks don't want anyone else to be cured at all.
  11. Back during Ali's season, there was some speculation that Ali herself, with the help of a couple of friends, had fed RS false info about choosing no one. Coupled with his admission that he relied on a source he hadn't known before, RS might want to think twice about so openly declaring that the show won't mess with him. The show runners might not, but I could see a lead or contestant's friends doing it, particularly if they don't like RS. But anyway, we are still at Kaitlyn possibly sleeping with Nick twice and then dumping him. And she supposedly doesn't let him go before the FRC (even Andi did that) and he proposes. Damn son, you are really getting your ass handed to you this time around...
  12. Perhaps she and Shawn got back together after the show? This season is such a trainwreck, that I wouldn't be surprised if she'd posted a picture of her, Shawn and Nick in bed together...
  13. US Weekly also published several photos of Ben with another gal and when he tried to claim that they are a year old, they published confirmation from the designer of the outfit she was wearing that it was from the most recent season. Reality Steve published a series of emails from Jef's alleged girlfriend/FOB at the time he went on the show. She had contacted him shortly after filming started and he was trying to get her to go on the record about him. RS says that this is one of the reasons why he held off on publishing Jef as F1. She stopped contact with RS and the season concluded. Fast forward to the Emily cheating story breaking and lo and behold Jef contacts old girlfriend/FOB and wants to hook-up. She claims that Jef told her that story was true and that he demanded money from Emily to throw his brother under the bus and keep up the happy couple facade. Jef and Emily broke up after fromer girlfriend/FOB eventually went to US with her story. Since the Emily fanatics wouldn't believe that their sweet, naive, super special snowflake would ever cheat on her man, Jef bore the brunt of the breakup blame. Jef did eventually confirm that both stories were true but most of Bachelor Nation had moved on and Jef had already showed his ass in other ways. BTW - the guy Emily was sexting allegedly was Matt Leinart, Heisman Trophy winner and washout as an NFL QB. His personal life is another story altogether.
  14. Chiming in as loving the Ashley/JP season and so happy they are married with kid. I also loved Jillian and watch her show on HGTV regularly. Favorite contestants have to be Ryan (Trista's), Tessa (Andy's), Chantal and Shawntel (Brad 2.0,), Ames (Ashley), Roberto and Chris (Ali's) Least favorite leads - Ben and Emily. I so enjoyed the schadenfreude of watching these two show everyone how fake and obnoxious they really were. The cheating stories which came out after their respective seasons turning out to be true were just "icing on the cake". One thing I have always respected about Brad after his 2nd season and Roberto is that neither went on TV or appeared on the cover of People magazine crying fake tears about the demise of their respective relationships. I think Brad made a couple of comments right before Emily's season wishing her well and that's about it.
  15. And why would Becca subject herself to the ridicule and tabloid nightmare that dating this idiot now would produce? She's obviously moved on, is on friendly, supportive terms with Whitney and hopefully has more class and intelligence than that...
