Leon Brown: So Here's Me

Pallas
Message added by Scarlett45,

Leon is transgender and uses they/them pronouns. As defined in the GLAAD guidelines, they are a they, were a they, and will be a they unless they ever tell us something different.  Per those guidelines, referring to them as a woman or a girl or as she is not okay, regardless of any modifier placed before these words or the time period being discussed.  Referring to them by any name besides "Leon" or "Leo" is not appropriate, regardless of the time period being discussed. Intent matters and people may slip up. Let's strive to respect their identity.

This is my favorite forum.  I missed it when it was down for a day or two.

It's truly refreshing to be on a forum where everyone is united in their hatred of one person (Kody Brown).

Like, I'm in other reality TV forums, and there are loathsome folks on those shows. But they typically still have a few champions among the posters. Not here! Not Kody! It's delightful.

This and other reasons is why I don't do social media.  I tried it for a couple of years, and got tired of all the BS, so I quit.

Me too! This forum and my Diabetes forum are the only SM I participate in. Tried others and the BS just got to me too so quit! Boy did I miss this forum when it was down. I even wandered over to Reddit and tried to navigate the SW sub there but man is the tone different there. Plus it was just too confusing to even waste the time to try to figure it out.  Not my cup of tea for sure!

It is calm and very respectful here by all my experiences here.  I won't be going anywhere.

There’s a Diabetes forum around here?

Did Leon ever become a social worker or are they doing something else (thought maybe they tried to be a yoga instructor but I think that ended or was a hobby) and did they or Audrey appear on any of the “Covid” episodes? The last episodes I remember them on was maybe when they left either school or work when Covid first started.  I think maybe they were leaving Chicago and went to the B&B?? Was that their last episode?

I don't know about that but I did hear that they started a substack and it is somewhere around $35/mo subscription fee.

I had to look it up too. From what I can make of it, it is some sort of site where people  post things they have written, like blogs and I think maybe stories, and/or whatever topic some one wants to write about. Some of them are free to read and others charge a monthly charge to read their writings. The few examples that were discussed (Reddit) charge $5/mo. If that is typical,  Leon must be putting out some great stuff for $35/mo!

I feel like at least some of the Browns — all five parents and some of the adult children — all think there's a clever way to beat the system. Now certainly Logan and Hunter seem to have solid careers, but Maddie, Mykelti, Leon always seem to be on the quick buck trail. Those three have all done LulaNo at some point (if Leon didn't then Audrey did while Leon was still in school, I can't remember specifics). I'm hoping Gabe, Gwendlyn, Ysabel, and Savanah take their cues from Logan and Hunter.

Didn't Meri say that she was planning on going to California but she cancelled it because she was sick?

I'll have to admit: I was busy folding laundry as usual, so not always paying close attention. I may have misheard it and  California could have been Colorado. Anyway, for all we know the intention was to spend time with L&A. They seemed close a few years back when they were together in Parowan.

In a couch segment, Meri said, "I had tentative plans to take a trip to California over Thanksgiving, and that fell through."

Later in the episode (19.04, "How the Mighty Have Fallen"), they showed footage she shot on her phone, of her coughing and sick in bed. She notes that it's Tuesday after Thanksgiving. She says, "I spent Thanksgiving here, in my bed, sick."

Robyn then says, "Meri told us she wasn't going to do Thanksgiving with us. She was going to do it with her children. Like I found out later, she was at home, sick."

It's not clear whether the tentative plans were to be in California with Leon and Audrey, or if they were other plans that fell through, and then she figured she'd spend it with Leon and Audrey, but then got sick, or what. As ever, the Brown adults are not exactly founts of information.
