Well, that was quick.... I hate Claudette. If she widens her giant eyes any more, they're going to swallow her head whole.

Ugh Claudette and Lulu look like they arrived in the same litter. Claudette even makes her voice gravelly like Lulu's when she is trying to express skepticism or contempt. Did the show have to use the same cookie cutter for the character of Claudette? The two women are pretty but so, so fake with their overprocessed blond hair (same or similar length) and tiny child bodies. How much more imaginative and effective it would have been to make Claudette a brunette with a French Canadian accent.

Maxie is intolerable, even when played by another actress. Her immature jealousy and machinations drive Nathan right into Claudette's path. Her sense of entitlement, by which she was ransacking her rival's room, is embarrassing, and verges on criminal activity since she is not a paid PI like Curtis.

In turn, Claudette's evasions and awkward manipulation of Nathan's memories and feelings are clumsy. It's so clear that she is some kind of baddie.

Ugh, no thanks.  As a French Canadian myself, who doesn't believe that we have an accent (!)  I hate when actors try to pull the off an accent.  They just end up sounding mentally challenged.  "Zee at was on zee edd of zee man.  Oui, oui ".

I just have to say that Genie Francis is so pretty and relaxed in her current role on GH. I'm delighted that Laura gets to be her own woman at last without grumpy old Luke dragging her along behind him. Watching her outsmart her grandson Spencer to get information about the extra cell phone was delightful; she was charming and playful, yet firm. Spencer wasn't as annoying as usual too; he was precocious and amusing. The scenes worked for me.

And Laura seems comfortable and charming with Kevin too, whether they are analyzing a situation for clues or just relaxing together. I hope she doesn't tank into tears in scenes with Lulu as the baby rabies story develops.

I missed some of Friday's show because of a news bulletin about Turkey, but I kind of liked what I saw. I really like the temp Maxie, and she's wearing the hell out of that dress. Just an ordinary work outfit for her, and it puts to shame not only anything I can remember the KS Maxie wearing but also the fancy duds we saw on the women at the Nurses' Ball.

Still interested in Dillon and the Keekster. They have not palled on me. I was willing to put up with Morgan and Darby in the scene because I thought D/K were the real story.

Did Morgan mutter that he really wants Aaron to like him and not think he got the job just because of nepotism? I wasn't interested enough to rewind it at the time. Aaron is going to be Morgan's boss?

Curtis is always a good time, and he and the Maxie actress worked well together.

I keep liking Maura West more and more. She really sold that bit about knowing a lot of criminals and Nikolas not being one. Of course, she hasn't seen all the episodes we've seen where he had people shot. I mean..."You made a mistake, and that led to another, and another, and another"...it was well delivered, but when you think about the words, that could describe OJ Simpson, for Christ's sake.

I also thought ER/Lulu and GF/Laura did as well as anyone could have with the reactions to seeing Nikolas. I hand-waved the absurdity of it all and just accepted the emotion and sincerity they gave their performances. In other words, for a couple minutes, it was classic soap. Remember those?

I kind of love the TV convention (not just soaps) of people getting together for lunch or dinner and never eating anything, and often never even ordering (Claudette/Nathan). Maybe if they get together for drinks, the drinks will be served, but they often get up and leave them when the scene has made its point. In the Woody Allen movie The Purple Rose of Cairo, the hero of a '30s adventure movie steps off the screen and into the real world, and later the heroine joins him on the screen in his movie, and there are a lot of clever things done with the rules of the different realms (he knows how to drive a car but not how to start one, because he never starts the car in the movie; she finds their "romantic night on the town" over almost as soon as it began, because in the movie world, such things only happen in montage).  If we entered the TV world, we'd probably be starving!

So Curtis invaded Claudette's room and found what? It had to be something Griffin-related because Curtis then goes to see Griffin and starts asking questions. But then Curtis also acts as if he knows nothing about Griffin's and Claudette's rendezvous. What's really going on here?

Hopefully this island shit will pick up now.  Jason's face at the end cracked me up.  He was like, I knew I should have taken this dude out when he first got here, damn it Sam.

I would have loved a reaction from Sam when Laura went on to Nikolas about allowing them to grieve for him when he wasn't really dead....Like a "bitch, really???" or something to acknowledge the irony.

Continue to not care about Nathan, Claudette, Griffin etc.

I was okay with that. Darby said "prove to me that you're into me and not Kiki." That seems like a pretty obvious invitation for Dillon to make a move.

He could have said something—"Let's go to your place and I'll show you"—instead of grabbing her. I wish they'd taken a different route.

If the Ice Princess diamond is so valuable, why does it look like a turd on a stick?

In the original story, Alexandria Quartermaine had painted the Ice Princess to conceal what it really was.  This new version looks like a burnt cake pop.

But how would Sam know about the time Laura faked her death?  That happened years before she showed up or did Laura fake her death again and I've forgotten.  I tend to blank out a good portion of the last 10 years of this show.  LOL

Are Laura and Kevin kind of cute, or am I drunk?

If you're drunk, then so am I.  LOL

Also, someone needs to tell the actor who plays Morgan that blotchy beards are not attractive.  He's got tufts of hair all over his face.

I think mybabyaidan is referring instead to Nikolas letting Sam and Danny and Jason's friends and family grieve Jason.

I loved that Kevin was wearing a rain jacket. They never really remember that kinda detail anymore.

I'm with you, Asp Burger, especially as to Curtis and Ava.  Each of them seems to work well with just about anyone.  Love Laura getting her mojo back and her pairing with Kevin is one of the few highlights lately.  Give me more Curtis, Ava, Laura and Kevin!  Tired of Morgan.  It amazes me that he can be bossy and whiny at the same time.  I also like Kiki better with Dillon than anyone else they've tried.  The "Sonny Family" is boring and, even though I loved the Alexis scenes (NLG was amazing), adding Sonny kind of made her boring also.  Know it's unpopular to like RoHo but he's definitely one of my favorites.  Please retcon his present story to make him anyone, ANYONE, other than Franco.  Maybe it could turn out that the reason he doesn't look like Franco is because he ISN'T Franco.  Come on writers, give this man a story that he can sink his teeth into!  I also like Finn (always have liked ME) and Griffin.  Will miss Anna ...

I guess? I thought Aaron had a coffee cart, and Morgan worked in the warehouse. They could cross paths when Aaron needs more beans, but they're otherwise in different areas of the bidness. And LOL that Morgan thinks nepotism isn't the only reason he has a job anywhere in Sonny's organization.

Shallow: On Friday's show, it looked as though Bry-Dawg's head had been coated with brown dye to make his (now very short) hair look thicker. When he was under bright light in those café scenes, I was seeing a lot of brown, but not all of it looked like his buzz; I think the scalp itself was colored.

I watched the last few minutes that I missed. I'm super glad the Theo actor doesn't have to use that terrible accent anymore.

The Dillon/Darby kiss wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be, but I might have just been distracted by how pretty Darby's hair is.

Aaron owns the cafe (with an investment from Sonny).  Morgan is supposed to be an employee of the cafe (as is Kristina), so technically, Aaron is their boss.

I'm not really sure I understand the cafe.  Is it outside?  Is it inside?  It's a confusing set.

The way this show keeps lampshading Griffin being a priest, I was seriously starting to wonder if they weren't going with the old Western movie trope of the outlaw who has to assume a priest's identity in order to evade his pursuers.  Which, while kind of a ridiculous story, would be way more interesting than what we are getting.

So, Griffin aka Father What-A-Waste is taking a sabbatical from his priestly duties, presumably because of the mess with Claudette.  Well, that's something, I guess...

Add me to the list of folks completely flummoxed by the elevator scene between Franco and Liz.  The music and the way the shots were framed were something straight out of a horror film.  So are supposed to believe that Liz should be frightened of Franco?  On the other hand, RoHo and BH have real, palpable chemistry, something this show is in dire need of.  I'm torn...

I must be drunk, too.  I love Kevin & Laura!

Still can't get onto NuNik.  He takes me out of the scene.  I just imagine TC there.

I loved Jason's "Are you serious, bro?" look when Nik acted like he could take him.

Don't care about Nathan/Claudette/Griffin/Darby/Morgan.  Bring on Dillon/Kiki!

I'm a RoHo fan, too.  They really missed the boat not making him a Dr at GH.  That would have made him/Liz work.  That scene in the elevator was supposed the give me the warm fuzzies?  Fail.  I couldn't believe it when after being trapped in an elevator with a SERIAL KILLER WHO KIDNAPPED YOUR SON she says she has feelings for him!

Gag me.......

I'm sorry; I didn't mean to offend or "body-shame". I was thinking about the propensity that the GH casting authorities seem to have when selecting younger petite actresses for this show. The Show has a cadre of extreme female petites that is complemented by a noticeable number of extraordinarily muscle-bound male actors. It's very hard to believe that (except for Sonny) the musclemen type would have enough time in their PC lives to develop and keep such physiques. And likewise, it is hard to swallow that the extremely petite actresses are physically capable of becoming mothers, because (to me) they don't look older than early teens or junior high school. It takes a suspension of disbelief. When Lulu or Sam or Liz embrace or carry a child, I hold my breath waiting for it to be dropped or expecting that the actress is going to fall over. Thus I find it understandable that the extremely petite actresses are not shown carrying or embracing their children often.

With most of the older actresses on GH, I don't get this same worrisome perception. For example, Tracy, Monica, and Laura are easily believable as physically mature women who can bear as well as lift and carry young children or toddlers.

James Patrick Stuart looks as good now as he did on GH. He was so young on AMC but carried off his beard so well. He really had movie star looks then. Now, he just has a mustache and he's even more handsome. I'm not sure if I need him to be a Cassadine or not but I'll enjoy his short story arc while I can. I agree that Laura & Kevin a breath of fresh air with their mature outlook without being OTT. I'm on board with them as a couple.

There has to be a new camera person on board because there have been some distracting shadows in the background - not only at the new set for Sonny and Co., but also at the castle.  I didn't notice them at the infrequent hospital scenes because maybe I am captivated by the lingering shot on the distant glances of the doc/priest.

I hit the FF button with the quickness during the Curtis/Griffin/Claud/Tree/Maxie scenes.

So Kaka dumps Dillon but thinks she has the right to get mad because he's on a date with Darby? AND she has the nerve to call Darby a slut when she herself was lusting after Michael while with Morgan? STFU you worthless donkey. How pathetic that these two rejects are Dillon's only choices.

While Laura was yelling at Nik for letting people think he was dead it would have been nice if she had enough self awareness to realize she allowed Liez and Nik to put Jason's family through the same pain.

Ava chooses to stay on the island instead of leaving when given the opportunity because why? So she can hang out with Nik some more?

Pretty much, and reasons. It's all a terribly written storyline, but I do love that it's gotten Ava out of Sonny's orbit so for that alone I'm grateful. I think it will pick up now that there's more people. I'm still unclear on why TC is away or if/when he's ever coming back, but it didn't ring true to me that he has a relationship with Laura and Lulu. And Lulu kind of pissed me off, why the hell didn't she hit him? That was annoying. JMB would have kicked his ass. I still miss her with any kind of family stuff. And Lante.

I'm all caught up (except for the last couple of minutes of Friday's show that were cut off), but I don't know if there's much to say. Sonny was grotesque as usual, and him pretending like he's Ward Cleaver is just so insulting.

I don't have a problem with Temp Maxie, but I'm not into her. I actually do like Tree around CJ more than Maxie. He seems a little different.

Liked seeing Killon together again briefly. Kiki, just admit you're jealous. Darby's hair did look good, but that's all I'll give her.

The Franco/Liz elevator scene was vile and creepy as hell. For a split second, he was as scary as old school Todd Manning, then he started whining pathetically. Good lord. Get some dignity.

There is so little to care about on this show, but it does make it easier to not care about what happens.

Now, did I enjoy Lucas asserting to Julian that Tony Jones is his father?  Heck yeah I did.  But do I think it would have been nicer to hear Lucas talk about Tony in a different context (like, for example, on his wedding day) and not as ammunition to hurt Julian?  Heck yeah I do.  So, mixed emotions.

Sonny is a strong, courageous and loyal man, said by the woman whose son he shot in the chest. Who is also Sonny's son. Don't make me laugh, show.

Who was Sonny being honorable and loyal to when he killed his middle son's biological father and then impregnated his other son's girlfriend? Because if I'm remembering correctly, Morgan and Michael and even Carly were remarkably nonplussed about that aspect of the Crypt! Sex. You know, aside from the part about them screwing on the grave of the man they had just murdered. I don't think that falls under "laying down your life for your family" guidelines.

Everything about the Cassadine island story bores me. Valentine isn't evil or crazy enough for my liking. He needs to kill one of his captives, it's too bad Franco isn't on the island.

Lucas should have ended this speech with "and to top it all off, your hair is CRAP."

Valentin is a good actor. That doesn't translate to "please keep him around for 20 years", show.

Sam: What are you going to do with the others

Going by that line reading, Sam couldn't care less lol.

Finn's full name sounds like it should be a magic phrase that whisks whoever says into another dimension. Especially when it's Sonny.*

*Sonny would be whisked away to a place where people would actually react to him the way actual humans beings would react to anyone whose done the things Sonny has done to them.

LOL at the all caps subtitles. I'M NOT THAT OLD, SHOW.

The quotation marks were also unnecessary.

My thoughts during the Finn/Sonny scenes: If we're stuck with Maurice Benard, kill Sonny off and let him come on as a new character. Sonny getting killed would lead at least to a couple of great scenes. Well, if the writers didn't totally mess it up. Even these writers should be able to churn out a good scene or two.

I would say kill Olivia off, but Sonny would probably fruitless catch a bullet trying to save her and Dante will cry that at least Sonny was spared.

lol at this guitar riff when Hayden's mom says Finn is an addict. It's not that big of a deal, Guitar Riff.

No, Julian, I think Leo is gonna hate Olivia more for the whole "my mom put me and her naked self on a magazine cover" thing.

Can't super Jase rip off the arm of the chair and get free?

Even Griffin thinks Julian is bad. A PRIEST SAID SO GUYS. IT MUST BE TRUE.

Although it is true. But the parade of people telling Julian he's bad is just cartoonish at this point. Olivia, the terrorist who kidnapped your grandson is still walking these halls, unapologetic. Go yell at HER.

Good for Julian for sneering at Olivia's self-righteousness by reminding her they slept together. And I liked that he mentioned that Sonny shot Dante.

We finally got a reason Sonny won't deal drugs: Getting caught means federal charges, and that's something he doesn't want.

ngl I actually really like this Cassadine Island story. I mean it's deeply stupid but I still have fun with it. Sam's reaction to Valentin manhandling her was hilarious. She's like, "Oh, this again, meh." I do wish she was showing less boob though. It's distracting. The quotations around the all caps translations was hilarious.
