  1. I would love to see Brenda back, but it seems like a stretch. Honestly, MB's tweet probably means they're grabbing coffee or something.
  2. Oh, I don't know... I never loved the Nurses Ball the way others do.. even back in the 90s I think most of the numbers were at least halfway embarrassing. The same is true today, but I think it's sweet they make the effort with the budget stripped down as it is, and I'm always happy to see Ms. Coe.
  3. I know... Anna and Alex share 100%, so Robin has 50% "from" Anna regardless of which twin gave birth to her.
  4. Exactly...that's the funniest part of this. Not only did Anna raise Robin (at least, since she picked her up from Philomena), but they also share 50% DNA. AND she has memories of giving birth to her. So even if SOMEHOW it was Alex that actually did birth her, that literally changes neither DNA nor Robin's childhood. It's all pretty silly.
  5. I'm so torn on this... I watched David/Anna's story a while ago and good lord, did those two have chem. But David was also a criminal who engaged in many criminal acts throughout their relationship. And Anna, who was the chief of police for much of that time, pretty openly turned a blind eye as he ruined several lives (most notably Maria's). Now that she's back in Port Charles it's annoying enough that she props Sonny part time, but even trickier if it were her boyfriend. Re: Nora, I'm game to see her! I always liked Nora and like that Llanview is still continuing in some off-screen way. Mazel, Matthew and Destiny.
  6. I would actually choose chemistry over character history 100% of the time. The thing about soaps is that pretty much all characters have done genuinely unconscionable things. All of my favorites have, at least. If we love them, we forget that they abandoned their kids or faked a pregnancy or committed murder or withheld heart medication or whatever. Carly and Aj would have been a great story and also v. hot.
  7. Of course it's illogical that Anna is assuming it would be Robin, but it also make sense that she would be paranoid about losing Robin... her daughter is a lot more important to her than Peter is.
  8. I actually think he's not a bad actor... I mean, he went to Juilliard. But the character is woefully misconceived and he has failed to generate any chemistry with the actors in his orbit. He and Maxie don't look like they want to even touch hands, nor does he have compelling interactions with Anna, LuLu, or Valentin. I think they've done something similar with Elizabeth Hendrickson... talented actor, seemed like a "get," but don't have a thought out storyline. I feel bad for the actors and the writers, all of whom seem at a loss.
  9. In fairness, this is hardly an FV problem... soaps have always leaned heavily on hair models. Unless we think Kristina Malandro was a plausible aztec? I think GH has pretty good casting, generally speaking. And some of those disney kids hold up! Zenon comes to mind.
  10. Agreed 100%. My smart, beautiful, talented cousin became a scientologist a few years ago after she started dating someone in it. It really does happen to "normal" people, and once you're in, it's hard to leave (and hard to even see that you should leave until it's too late). I actually really like the whole plot. If I have to endure a Sam/Jason heavy storyline, I'm glad it is at least an umbrella plot line with a charismatic villain, in a story I haven't seen on soaps before. It's working for me.
  11. Have you watched Y&R recently, though? I can maybe see that the possibility for a non-Patrick character exists, but I really don't want him tbh...
  12. Lulu has some serious Lauren Conrad vibes with those mascara tears this week. AND now she'll be “the girl who didn’t go to Paris”! As usual, Maura West is so good. Also as usual, Nina and Valentin are the worst. And of course I’m spinning cartwheels over a third day of Lucy this week.
  13. I've been thinking about this lately, bc I agree with you... LuLu doesn't have chem with anyone onscreen, and nor does Maxie. They've tested both with Peter and others. I don't have an actual point to make except that I agree and that the 30ish set is very, very weak right now. How did it get this way? Agreed, and my working theory is that teen stories are almost always terrible. I hated the teen story (Georgie and Maxie as candy stripers, weirdly flirting with their cousin lucas) back when I was a teen, and always preferred the 20 or 30-somethings. I think this is not where soaps really thrive and not what teens watch for. (Can we lose oscar already??)
  14. Ugh, breaks my heart that had to go the way it did. One of the best soap leading men of all time. I don't s'pose there's any way Dr. Bensch had a non-creepy brother?
