I don't know, I can see how Maci could make a moral distinction between Amber and Farrah pretty easily. Amber was convicted years ago and voluntarily chose the harder jail program instead of rehab because she knew it was the only way she'd get clean. She may have been a hot mess in the past but, as far as Maci knew, at the time of filming she had paid her debt to society, shown remorse for her actions and was presumably clean and sober.

I think that argument would have a lot more merit if Maci followed through with her threat and completely cut ties with Teen Mom, but it appears that Maci is merely stomping off to pout in a corner and then will eventually be back. So, either she doesn't have that strong of an opinion about Farrah's profession, or Maci's own morals are for sale.

There's a good chance that some of Maci's dislike of Farrah also comes from the fact that Maci has been in college and is working hard, doing things the "right" way to provide for her son.

Maci is not providing for her son via school and a regular job. She supports herself and her son with her teen mom money, same as Farrah. And her school career is dubious at best.

Is Maci seriously only getting an associates degree?! I thought it was a bachelors! 5 years for an associates?

All the fan sites are very ambiguously worded- they all say she is "working" on her bachelors, and is set to graduate "soon". The assumption then, would be that she is set to graduate with her bachelors soon. However, I think it is purposely misleading- I think by "working on" they mean "completing a step that could lead to an eventual bachelors". Some programs are set up (like, for example, a nursing degree) where you can earn a 2 year degree and then at some point, go back and get your bachelors, within the same field. Or, some people just go for a 4 year bachelors and don't earn an associates degree in between. I think Maci is doing the former, but purposely trying to make it sound like the latter.

I don't know how much it really matters- I am sure Maci is earning a meager salary as a "Social Media Marketing Specialist" where I bet her duties consist of updating the company's facebook and twitter page from home, and the company can use her name to promote themselves while she uses her "job" as a way to promote herself as the most responsible, moral paragon of teen motherhood, defying the odds by going to school and working and supporting her child. And she'll only do it until she can lock down a husband and stay at home with her kids, so I am not sure in the long run what difference it makes what kind of degree she has.

That is not going to prison voluntarily.

It sort of is, though. She admitted to being able to use in rehab. She had jail hanging over her head and opted to throw it all out there and get the prison time.

I worded it more positively than it went down but when Amber went to court for her probation violation in 2012, she told the judge, to her lawyers dismay, that she couldn't stay clean in the rehab program (which they already knew) and asked to be placed in jail. She didn't have to ask, she was going anyway, but at a time when she could have continued the same victim behavior she took responsibility and showed some humility. Doing so is most likely what led to her receiving the purposeful incarceration sentence that got her placed in a therapeutic program instead of a regular sentence. I'm not going to take that away from her.

I'm not going to take that away from her, either. She bucked up and served her time. I don't really even like Amber. Hell, I doubt she will ever be able to stay clean. No matter. I'll sit in her cheering section just because she made the right choices when she could have chose the easy route.

(And her eyes are beautiful.)

I have a good friend that I used to be close with, many moons ago. We didn't stay close but I heard "through the grapevine" he was in a bad place. Cut his kids off. Got robbed. And had the hell beat out of him. His home got raided and he was arrested. For drugs. He got sentenced to 25 years.

He said the best day of his entire life was the day he was cuffed and put in that car. "It was finally over. I couldn't stop myself but the cops damn sure did." He said the second best day was when he was moved from county to state. Prison is apparently better than jail.

There's no prison, jail, or rehab for Farrah. It looks a little different in that context, to me anyway.

At least Maci appears to be "working" at something. Amber has done the book tour, but we all know she didn't write the book, and she hasn't done anything since but sit around. It doesn't seem like Catelynn and Tyler have done anything in years. I guess Farrah worked at porn? So in this sorry group, Maci and Ryan are the best ones. Which is really pretty sad.

I don't really get Maci's argument about Farrah drawing in unsavory viewers.

First of all, I would guess that most people watched Farrah's porn to laugh at her. She is a fairly attractive girl (well, before all the surgery) but I think a lot of people more watched it because of her notoriety. Second, a lot of people watch porn. People who are good parents, safe sex practicers, people who don't break laws. If they watch Teen Mom, so what? Third, the whole hypocrisy of the moral sex issue when she is pregnant again. Finally, if she thinks porn is exploitative (and I tend to agree but think she is being an idiot), does she not realize how much she is exploiting her son? Showing him on tv for practically his whole life with no real consent since he is a kid. Creating so many stories that are accessible for future teachers, fellow students, whoever to google. She and the rest of them are basically giving up the potential for their kids to have normal lives so they can be famous and have money.

Ah yes... one more reason to FF through Amber. I'd forgotten this one. I want to jump up and scream every time she seems irritated and yells "come in" rather than get her ass off the couch and answer the door. I try to remind myself it might be a production thing, but it really annoys me.

Thank you for saying this. It's not as if she's up to her elbows doing dishes or she's cleaning the oven and can't go to the door. No, she's just slovenly laying on her couch and doesn't want to make the trek to the front door. I've never seen her open the door for anyone except maybe Leah. I bet we could drive over to Amber's house right now and ring the bell and she'd bellow "Come innn!

Yeah, it would be nice that if instead of Tyler just announcing Catelynn has gained so much weight, it's not healthy, and so on...that he do other, more encouraging things, like suggest they go on daily walks, or say something like "I could eat healthier, too...how about we switch off on making healthy meals every night?"

I think his current approach just stresses Catelynn out.

Exactly. It's like he's keeping track of every little thing, hovering over her and judging. That's just going to frustrate her, and when you're not in a good place emotionally, you don't even want to try.

I think as the Justin Bieber of Minnesota, Tyler has an image in his head of how a woman he's with (if he's going to be w a woman) should look and Catelynn ain't it.

This is such a great line and I really hate to correct it, but it's Michigan.

So tired of discussing Cate's weight. She was obese before she got pregnant and she's fatter now. Her weight issues go deeper than meal planning. It's on Cate to do something about it, no one else.

No one will ever convince me that Cate is happy. Tyler treats her like shit. He is a Butch in the making, without the drug problem. Cate and Tyler will never be truly content with their choice to give Carly up. I think they make terrible spokespeople for adoption. If they are telling their story honestly, I think it would make mother's think twice about giving their child up. They share the trauma of that and I think that is what has kept them together.

Cate doesn't take care of herself. She smokes. She is obese. And now she has Tyler telling her she is fat.

Farrah goes to the neighbor because she wants someone to feel sorry for her.  Wait until she treats that woman like crap, like she does everyone else.  I have decided to fast forward through all of her scenes because I just can't stand to watch her.

MTV totally suckered the other girls by signing them first and then bringing Farrah back.  I understand Maci not wanting to film the show with her (not WITH her, but be on the same show).  Maci may not be the pilar of good decision making but she wasn't selling porn of herself either.

Amber's new boyfriend gives me the creeps.

Me too. That guy is just using her. The last thing she needs is an ex addict. I have a soft spot for Amber. And having an ex addict in the home, Gary has every right to be concerned about Leah.

I half agree and half don't. I think we're giving Maci a lot of credit and extrapolating her objection is something much more far-reaching than anything she stated. The girl is pretty simple, she basically didn't want a scene of her and Bentley fading into a scene of Farrah taking part of some more adult endeavors. Everything else is just our supposition. With that in mind, I think what actually happened is more along the lines of option #3, the producers told her that the more risque stuff wouldn't be shown and she dropped her objections. I think she, like the other girls, don't really give two shits about Farrah but she was more pissed that it seemed like they held back information that she should have been privvy to before signing.

That's probably true, given that Maci wasn't really able to articulate a reason for her objection, other than nodding along with what Taylor said. I don't count anything she said at a later date when she had time to formulate an argument. The only thing she said was "I'm not going to have my 6 year old son on a show with someone who did porn on camera" - like Maci, is there a way to do porn that DOESN'T involve a camera?? Isn't that um, kind of the point of porn?

I just don't believe Maci is really that disturbed by sharing screen time with someone involved in porn. I think she's disturbed by sharing screen time with Farrah specifically, but she's grabbing on to the porn thing because she knows a lot viewers will back her up, and it sounds much better than,"I'm pissed because someone I can't stand that I've been wishing would fall flat on her face for the last 2 years has gotten her way and somehow convinced production that the show is not as good without her". Just my opinion as to what is really up Maci's ass about the situation. (Oh, so many jokes can be made thanks to Farrah...)

I was always under the impression that Maci was going to a University meaning she was working on a Bachelor's degree, not an Associate's. I thought she went to Chatanooga State at one point and then transferred to another University.

Also, it really annoyed me as well when Maci said she wanted nothing to do with someone who "does porn on tv". The point of porn is that it was filmed.. But I also seriously doubt that video ever aired on TV. Someone who "does porn" should have been the end of that sentence.

That's what I thought too. If TN State Universities are like CA State ones they don't offer AA degrees. If she is getting a BA, I have to say 5 or 6 years isn't that crazy, especially at a large public university that might be pretty impacted. The CSU system actually tells students to plan for 4-5 years, not just 4.

The only school that has been referenced in recent articles that I've seen is Chattanooga State Community College. But she has transferred several times.

I don't think 6 years is crazy either, which is why I don't believe Maci is close to obtaining a 4 year degee. She has quit halfway through multiple semesters, dropped classes, transferred colleges (most likely losing credits), and has skipped some semesters altogether to travel.

Farrah's parents are obnoxious and immature. I can barely stand it when they are onscreen.

Maci is so damn backwards. Farrah is not doing porn on television. She made a porn film that can be bought via internet or on disc. Farrah's porn scenes are not going to be inserted on this show.

Has Maci directly stated she doesn't want scenes of Farrah's life, that involve the porn industry, to end up on the show itself? I will admit, I didn't pay attention to everything she said on the show and on the aftershow.

Per Maci's LinkedIn account, she's pursuing her associate's degree at Chatt State, which is a community college. She only has through 2014 listed there, so I'm not sure if she didn't return in January 2015 or what. No four year college mentioned. "Chatt State" sounds like a 4 year school, but it's a community college:(http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chattanooga_State_Community_College)

https://www.linkedin.com/pub/maci-bookout/90/b72/86(Maci's LinkedIn)

I think Maci had planned to transfer to MTSU when she was with Kyle and he lived in Murfreesboro (where MTSU is). I seem to remember her visiting the campus and talking like she was going to go there but then she found out she didn't have enough credits from the community college (since she kept dropping classes all the time) to transfer. Does that sound right?

But yeah, homegirl is definitely on the six year ASSOCIATES degree plan. Not bachelors degree.

The general consensus seems to be that Michael and now Debra followed Farrah to Austin, but actually Michael moved there first.  Farrah undoubtedly followed him because she needed someone to watch her daughter while she was flying around the country making personal appearances at sleazy strip clubs or promoting her plastic butthole.

I think I may be biased and less skeptical about the circumstances just because I have some married friends with that age difference,

I know plenty of people with a huge age gap. I am one of them. That doesn't negate when someone comes across with the vibe that Amber's boyfriend is giving off. I know people who met their spouses at bars, clubs, and online. People can meet in varying ways. Amber's boyfriend just doesn't come off as having his head on straight with this relationship and I am always leery with the kind of guys Amber chooses. Her judgment has never been right.

Bella Roche thank you for clearing up the chicken and egg issue as to whether Farrah went to Texas first or Michael. I did some checking too and found this article which mentions Farrah  was living with her mother until Deb then kicked her out. That is why Farrah moved to Texas because Daddy was there and she needed someone. She moved two blocks away from her dad.

http://www.examiner.com/article/farrah-abraham-moves-to-texas-now-streets-away-from-her-father

This is why I don't believe Farrah when she says things on the show and this is one reason I didn't want her back on the show. She totally twists the truth. I am not wanting to watch someone who is acting.  She keeps pushing the storyline that her parents are causing her stress and crossing her boundaries when it clearly she is the one who NEEDS them. She didn't have to go to Texas. She could have moved elsewhere and lived away from her parents. This is why I don't believe the story about her parents needing money from her or that her money has borrowed money but not paid it back. That is BULLSHIT!!  What is pathetic is, Deb and Michael are going along with it.

I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant. I was not overweight before getting pregnant nor did I gain a ridiculous amount of weight while pregnant. I also did not get GD until the last 1.5 months of my pregnancy. While one definitely should watch the amount of sugars they consume while having GB, weight itself has nothing to do with it. Cate did not get GB bc she was fat and you can never have diabetic issues, eat well and still get GB while pregnant. It's all in how your body responds to the pregnancy and that's it.

Didn't Cateylnn go in for one test and it was borderline, so she went in for another one later and got the GD diagnosis?  I wonder if that's why it was seemingly so late in her pregnancy. (or, the show timelines are just screwy, as usual)

With Amber's guy there are multiple red flags.

1. The age difference

2. The fact that they're both addicts

3. The rushed relationship

4. The fact that he "gave up" his apt before he came out to visit, and Amber had no idea

5. That they met by him basically kissing her ass on Twitter ("You should have more followers than Jenelle!")

If it was just ONE thing - the age difference, or the speedy relationship - I could give it a pass. But there is just too much shadiness going on here. And yes, Amber has shown herself to be a horrible judge of character, her judgment just sucks, period.

Well, they give everyone the short glucose test, I believe it's around 28 weeks. If you're numbers are looking bad, they'll bring you back in for the longer test. I cannot see why they would wait almost 2 months to bring you back in, especially for something so serious. My guess is that it was just more fuckery with the timeline and editing. Par for the course with this show.

Amber's boyfriend looks greasy figuratively and physically. I think it's highly manipulative that he moved out of his apartment in Boston and then came to "visit" Amber in Indiana. He had an agenda when he gave up his apartment to move/mooch in with Amber, only Amber didn't know that. She's an idiot for letting someone she's only met in person for 2 weeks and talked with on the phone and tweeted with -- lol, for 6 months to move in with her when she has a 6 year old daughter that she takes care of. And yes, I do remember the drug addict from Walmart who had just been released from jel move in with her, they got high together and she let him change Leah's diapers. Amber may be sober but she still has poor judgment, a bad temper and she's still impulsive. I'm not saying this bf is sexually molesting Leah, but come on, the guy is already crossing boundaries imo when he manipulates his way into moving in with Amber, he has no job to support himself, he makes himself the negotiator with Gary after meeting him ONCE, and then I was uncomfortable with him asking Leah for a hug when they picked her up from Gary and she gave him a perfunctory hug bc it was asked of her. So yeah, I'm not feeling this guy at all.

I'm the least concerned with Maci. I don't really care if she has a problem with Farrah, she is full of herself and thinks she is taking some kind of moral high ground by refusing to be part of the cast that Farrah is now part of. It's funny to me that she thinks she's better than Farrah as she stands there pregnant. Call me old fashioned, but I still think it's better to get married before deciding to have kids with someone. She'll be fine. Out of all of them, she has the most support and is the most stable. And 10 years from now I see her as the one who will be the happiest and whose kids are the most normal and emotionally in a good place.

I don't know what to make of Cate and Tyler. I think Cate will never be good enough in Tyler's eyes. He's fixated on making her worthy of him. She'll never be thin enough or ambitious enough for him. She's going to feel like she's always chasing the carrot with him. I do think she was irresponsible by gaining all that weight and getting gestational diabetes, she was warned and yet she put her appetite before the health of her baby. I think she'd have gained a lot more if she hadn't been warned, so I guess there's that. I like Cate, but I doubt she's going to have the happy life she hopes for with Tyler. Tyler has an overinflated ego and expects a great deal from others but not of himself. He's a punk.

Farrah is a bitch and thinks she's a Kardashian. Her parents need to do their own thing instead of eagerly wanting to be in her orbit. I get that they want to be a part of Sophia's life, but they can do it from another town and state. They set themselves up to be her bitch. Farrah will not change, she was, is and always will be an entitled bitch. Poor Sophia, that little girl is so adorable and I hate to think about how she'll turn out bc of Farrah. And Farrah's huge boobs look ridiculous.

I think her parent's drove her mad.

Agreed that there's more than meets the eye where Debra and Michael are concerned. Some kind of bad childhood stuff went down. Michael is a coward in all of this. They've both got him by the balls. I have friends that had unspeakable things done to them in childhood and had mothers that were mentally ill and spoke to them like they were trash and were physically and emotionally abusive, however they are nothing like Farrah. I'm not even referring to what she's done or does to make a living. I'm speaking of the core person of who Farrah is -- we've seen this self-centered, entitled, disrespectful, narcissistic, bossy bitch since 16 & P. At times, she almost makes me feel sorry for Deb & Michael. And at other times, she almost makes me feel sorry for her. In the end, I always feel sorry for Sophia. Right now, little Sophia seems pretty resilient and unaffected for the most part. I just have to wonder what she'll be like in the next 10+ years

Yes, and I wonder who Farrah is trying to protect by not revealing this trauma she supposedly endured. I mean, there are moments when it feels as though she absolutely hates her parents. If it was her parents who traumatized her, then why on Earth would she let them care for Sophia?

It might not be one specific trauma though. It might be years of subtle undermining, insults, manipulation, etc- there may not be a particular reason she can articulate. And if there was some kind of abuse going on, sadly Farrah wouldn't be the first person I've known of to accept that abuse as normal and let the cycle continue by exposing her own kids without realizing the damage.

Her sister (on the rare occasions she's filmed) seems to have the same type of relationship with her mom that Farrah has. One minute it's Ashley and Farrah against Debra, the next it's Ashley and Debra against Farrah. Weird, weird, weird family.
