Thanks for the update.

Amber will be the computer lady not unlike the lunch lady.

Middle school kids are so much more sophisticated and tech savvy than Amber.

They learn better helping each other than listening to her blather on and on...

Just saw a post on the family Instagram. Anna received a ‘special’ diploma. I’m in Ohio and upon graduation I think you either get a diploma or a certificate of attendance. Anyone know about this is GA?

The previous state I lived in had a diploma that said you completed satisfactorily the high school curriculum and the other was a diploma that said you passed the Exit Exam. Both were legitimate HS diplomas but the exit exam had a higher standing. Where I am now you can get a completion certificate or a diploma. A completion certificate is for Special education students that completed a curriculum but not in the same way as a a student with a diploma. Completion certificate students can go to Community college but have to meet a set of standards.

After checking out some of the GA regulations it seems as if they have similar levels. She may have had a learning disability and an IEP.

Liz and friend... this type of pic always makes me nervous

I agree... I didn't used to think about it but then a few years ago a friend of mine lost her niece to that type of pose.

Her niece was making a silly face and posing as though she was going to step forward and off the cliff.... Suddenly the wind whipped up and a flock of birds startled her...she lost her footing and fell 40 feet to her death on the rocks below.... It's not worth risking your life for a pic. 😞

Its about time that Alex started acting like a teenager rather than a 5 year old having a tantrum every 5 minutes. Liz is really annoying me, like she is the Marsha of the family and Anna is the Jan. Amber's haircut does look good on her and Jonah is still a douche. He is very disrespectful to the entire family. I had hoped therapy would have helped, clearly not.

An episode filled with TikTok videos?  This was an hour of my life that I can’t get back.  I would have liked to have learned why mom decided real estate wasn’t her thing, what Anna thought of being away at college and what happened to their dreams of a rustic furniture store? Also, what is Jonah doing since he flunked out of college?  Maybe these were answered towards the end when I fell asleep.

Amber said he has a “state job”...WTF does that mean?

Googling brings up Amber’s proud announcement Jonah has entered the workforce after submitting applications...

Soap dirt has a picture of the working stiff sporting a too tight shirt As well as straining too tight khaki pants and a jacket... hardly qualifies as business attire but whatever....

What is it that Jonah “does for the state of Georgia”.....he has a high school diploma and some college after getting asked to leave school because of bad grades....

Submit your guesses....

I am thinking a clerk for the Dept of Corrections located in Forsyth.

A state job means he is working for one of the state agencies where they live. For example, I live in Sacramento where there are plenty of “state workers” doing jobs from clerical work to taking care of state property, (parks, the Capitol grounds, etc.,  and from working for elected officials to serving as agency counsel (lawyers).
I assume Jonah is working at an entry level job, possibly clerical.

Elizabeth - Still so arrogant, and snotty, and loves putting down Anna at any opportunity. There's no reason to say, "She's leaning toward the 'h word.'" That's just ugly. That's your sister.

Brice seems boring. Granted, they're in college, and don't have a ton of disposable income to go on dates.

Gotta say, I love Trent's willingness to go to the pole dance class.

Alex's voice change is cute. He's growing up, finally.

For reference, Asheville, NC to Forsyth is about 4 hours.

I so agree about Elizabeth.  I realize that a lot of pressure was on her as the biggest and most able-bodied, but she drives me crazy. As for Brice, I don’t know if it’s simply his mannerisms, or if he’s just intellectually challenged.  Elizabeth is so desperate to have a guy, and her entire families’ lives have revolved around Liz’s love life for years.

Elizabeth used to be my favorite but she's gotten so smug and acts like she's a celebrity.

I like Brice but sometimes it's feels very awkward watching him because he seems so bashful and nervous.

I've grown to love Anna and her quirky personality, sometimes she makes me burst out laughing with her down to earth attitude.... When she's ready I hope she meets a nice young man who appreciates her.

Okay so I watched the 1st 5 minutes and the last 5, switched over for Twitney and OMG. I would not want to be a child of these two. First a Tik Tok episode and then a porn episode. I would almost rather see the kids and what they are up to and how they, as adults/teens, are maneuvering through life. Get rid of Trent & Amber.

I don't know why TLC would think we would care about Trent's and Amber's sex life. There's not much to show because of COVID.

Note to Alex: Jarred alfredo sauce is nasty. Sauce from scratch is so much better.

When the current episode first began, there was an announcement about adult subject matter being presented (a warning to viewers).  I assumed it would involve Jonah and his girlfriend.  Wrong.  I'm no prude, but the sexual content of Trent and Amber spicing up their love life was completely inappropriate for this show whose premise has always been family from the beginning.  I've always considered this show appropriate for all ages.  Whoever decided to include this R-rated to X-rated material should be fired.

The only flopping around and writhing I want to see on this show are the caught fish boyfriend Brice pulls out of the water...

TLC, keep this a family show...the idea of of Trent/Amber bumping uglies on red satin sheets is as vomit inducing as both cook off entrees..

Amber is a bad as Jen Arnold with her chef hats and aprons for every the cooking segment.

Anyone else notice Anna is getting treated better by Amber this season...let’s see how long it lasts.

Last season Trent and Amber were hating on each other.

This season they are working on their marriage by trying to "spice it up in the bedroom". Blechhhhh! They have sold their soul to the devil and a measly TLC paycheck.

Trent works for the state so I imagine he got Jonah's job for him.

Amber's haircut looks nice, she has beautiful hair and Eliz inherited that hair.

No, Trent works as a landscape manager for Clayton State University.

TLC, keep 7 Little Johnston’s sweet...not R rated.

The show is gagging  by us( guess that is the next sex toy to be brought into Trent/Amber’s boudoir) and we DON’T want to know about metronome humping.

Jonah/Ashley (He would be a fool to let this nice woman get away)

Elizabeth/Brice(they will get engaged when she gets pregnant)

Regular fishing segments with Brice

Emma/Lucca (TLC will provide a free round trip flight for the bf since the LP Convention was Covid cancelled and Lucca is adorable)

Anna/ Cruiser

Alex/Alfredo (the sauce, of course)

I laughed my butt off at Amber and Trent in the bedroom. If my partner were to act like Trent, I would be:

  • amazed he cared enough to move outside his comfort zone
  • thrilled he even tried keeping it fresh
  • loving that we could still laugh and joke around after 20 years

but, that ain't happening here and I am a little jealous.

The dirty talk on the other hand was probably a bridge too far.

Also want to give them credit for thinking up stories I want to watch. The cooking segments were interesting. Amber maybe needs to let/make the kids cook on a regular basis. Basic life skills.

Does anyone know what kind of autoimmune disorder Emma has that she needs shots for?

I was wondering the same thing.

I was impressed by Elizabeth and her determination to be a nurse. 81 hours a week! Plus a full college schedule! So many young people don't have a direction. But she sure does. She really had her game face on when practicing her nursing skills on the family. Graduating with high honors too. Such determination. and in the face of covid. It really is a calling. Working as a certified nursing assistant at an assisted living facility means a lot of grunt work for sure.

Could havE done without the foot thing for Trent though.

I can't help it though - I like this family.

I was also impressed by Anna quietly going with the flow and doing her online classes. She made it to.college, the dorm, had a job on campus, etc. She is awesome. i could see her as a school administrator someday.

And Alex, stepping up to learn cooking. Go Alex! I love seeing them find their way. Emma will too and I'm rooting for Jonah. He will figure things out. Some kids just take longer.

I'm not sure if has already been posted, but Anna was an RA at her college when they were going in-person.  They usually don't let students who are trouble-makers or otherwise not responsible be RAs.  I truly believe she'll blossom most when she's not at home.

Gotta give all of the kids credit - wow, Elizabeth. 4.2 HS GPA, graduating with honors, working 80 hours/week in an assisted living facility during the pandemic, while juggling FT college. Not many 18 yo kids will step up for that, let alone for ten months, and she didn't miss a single day.

Anna is doing great, too, and Alex is maturing.

Trent and Amber have certainly instilled hard work into them.

This is the first time they've mentioned Emma having an autoimmune disorder.

Stuff with the go-kart was cool; we had them growing up. Brought back lots of fun memories. They are so uncomfortable, and bumpy. No shocks. lol

Unfortunately I don't think they are a "thing" anymore.  Emma made references to it on Instagram which is a shame because they were adorable together.

Really surprised at Alex, not just his voice but he really seems to have matured over the hiatus.  He was the laziest one of the bunch and he seems to be making more of an effort to help out around the house.

I can't imagine working FT, let alone working 80s hours a week and going to school FT.  I know some folks have done that but I give Elizabeth credit for her drive.  I wonder if she's working to help pay for college or if she is saving up for a car?

I did not know this!  Besides being super responsible, RAs tend to be junior/senior students, as well. Go Anna!

Trent is too high strung to teach the kids to drive. In the pandemic with quarantine, they couldn't find time to teach Elizabeth to drive?!? Liz wanted Amber to do it but somehow it didn't happen. Just make Anna drive her to work.

My parents hired Taggert's driving school (with the cars with two steering wheels!) Back in the 80's. It was a financial stretch for them but I'm glad they did.

Wow, Jonah's whole demeanor changes and softens even when he is just on the couch doing the talking head segment about his girlfriend Ashley.

She seems nice but I hope as the relationship progresses that rough side of his personality doesn't emerge on her.

Saw some scenes in passing ref. Jonah.  What is the conflict regarding him?  Does the problem stem from him or his parents?

I think it is that he flunked out of college, seemed to have no direction, not taking responsibility for himself, etc., being kind of moody, etc. Hopefully maturity will kick in. I think he can have a bright future.

I didn’t realize that Amber is from NC.  (My home state.) They should have shown more of the Biltmore. I suppose you have to pay if you do that though. LOL. It’s very nice.  Asheville is actually a great place.  One of my best friends lives there.

I noticed that immediately.

Nitpick, but, what Alex baked aren't fritters. They were more like mini pies; he used crescent dough. I would have peeled the apples, too. These are apple fritters:

I have recently discovered that some people, especially men, have numb noses.  They apparently have no feeling in their nose. Their masks can come down and their nose is so numb, they don’t feel the cold air on their nose. The don’t feel the wind hitting it either.  I had no idea.

It's rather surprising to me that there was so little affection shown between Ashley and Jonah, especially when they parted at the end of the show when she went home.  I would expect more--a kiss, embrace, hand holding--something.  If they have been dating for a year, they act more like "just good friends," unless they are not comfortable showing affection with the cameras on them.  In any event, I think they make an adorable couple, well suited to one another.  Ashley's family are great, so loving and supportive of her.

I wonder why the meeting with Ashley's mother and stepfather, and then with her biological father, were both held outdoors in what obviously was very cold weather.  At the picnic, everyone looked uncomfortable, freezing as they were sitting there.  Wouldn't a nice warm restaurant been a much more appropriate place to gather?

The Apple Festival looked like fun, but it was concerning to me that masks were on at times or masks were off at times while they were there.

It was probably outside because of Covid.

So is that like "numb bum" because my husband never seems to feel the wind blowing down his plumbers crack.
