Really enjoyed the comedy in this episode. Entire cast was on fire!

I really need Nico to thank Will for taking them in and providing for them even in his absence. It's just not cool to be acting how they have been about it. 

Amanda shopping for Sunny without even consulting her was insane. Who does that?????

Do we think we will see tha handyman again? I feel like they set him up to be in some way an on-going story for Angie. Maybe not. But I feel like we haven't gotten the whole story there.  

I feel like they are kind of muting Faith, and I don't like it. They used to be partners, but now it feels lke Will is kind of dioing it all and she's just tagging along, which I resent. Even Oremwood has gotten more to do than Faith has.

Angie needs to apologize to Will. She doesn't seem to understand that she hurt him, and that he was in a terrible position.It's always been all about her and she's still acting like it should be. And that is wrong.

Betty Maria White Trent is displaying a sign of distress, a separation-related behavior — she nibbles on daddy’s shoes. Betty doesn’t get to see Angie on a regular basis anymore. Tennessee Will used to bring her to work everyday. It’s hard for her to cope when routines change.

Nico needs to stop acting like a child of divorced parents in front of Betty. Betty has enough on her plate already. 😢

Agreed. Especially since it seems like Angie hasn't been in contact with them at all since Will left — at least Will left them with a place to stay and means to live. I get that Nico felt like they lost their family. But it's starting to just be bratty. Hope this was the end of it this episode.

I just find it interesting how Angie and Will's returns have been juxtaposed: Angie is hailed as a conquering hero, while everyone literally threw things at Will and gave him the cold shoulder. Are they trying to make a point about how law enforcement is more than willing to look the other way when it's one of their own and anyone not willing to play ball with that will not be accepted as part of the inner circle? Intentionally or no, that's what I'm getting, anyway.

Once again, Angie proves to me that as a character, I can only ship her with intensive therapy. Remembering the convo she and Will had way back in the pool, where she said he was more broken than she is. That was very, very wrong. And there is no way she is working her program and steps because she hasn't taken responsibility with regard to the situation she put Will in. Unlike her coworkers, I wasn't happy she just got to come back with no restrictions or qualifications. She wasn't even busted back down to a beat cop, she gets to come back at her prior rank apparently. I don't think this was a good story choice by the showrunners, it makes it appear like Angie just got away with everything and in this climate, in the year 2025, I'm not sure that was a good decision. I'm not happy for Angie, and worse, it's breaking down the veil between a 'tv show' and reality for me because I'm just thinking about how all kinds of fucked up it would be to have a cop like her in real life and there's no way in Hell she should have a badge still, much less be a detective. 

The writers made her storyline and subsequent decisions so awful, and her comeback feels completely unearned, and we're just supposed to go along with that. As of right now, I have no use for the character anymore. And Nico being nicer to her than Will pissed me off too. Angie is the reason multiple people are dead, and Will is the reason you've had somewhere to live for the last 6 months, Nico. Maybe try to act like you understand that. 😒

When the second and third person in that room started foaming at the mouth, if I were in that room I'd leave the room immediately! Who knows if it's something in the air! It's clearly not a natural situation.

Poor Nico. To go from being homeless to having a real family and then see it blown apart like it was is very hard on a young person. They're allowed to be angry and also a bit snarky with Will. Has he been providing for them? Did he consider their basic needs (shelter, food, money)? Yes, but he forgot to include them in any of the decisions that led to Will running away to Tennessee (and they did not know where he was until he came back), so trauma was intense for Nico. Spoiled?  I disagree. Struggling with the reality that maybe the family is not going to get back together and the disappointment that would be to someone who does not have a family. Left to deal with their feelings quite on their own, with no help from Will, would leave a bitter taste in my mouth, for sure.

I loved seeing the police crew work with Angie, and be happy for her to be back. Pulling together for someone they care about is heartwarming.  It does seem too easy, and I fear a bigger fall may be coming for her. After all, Ormewood's role in helping her cover up the initial murder has not come out. (As well as not dealing with Amanda's planting evidence on a really bad guy so he went to jail for something he didn't do. I wonder if they'll address it again this season.) 

Angie is devastated. Getting back to being a detective kept her going after Will turned her in. She thought they were headed for a lifetime together and blinded herself to the time bomb that was Crystal. I agree. I don't think she has dealt with why she did what she did, and I think the show is going to unfold that over the season. So, like anyone would, she's focused on her hurt, and Nico revealed that Will was hurting too, which Angie seemed to consider. (I will say, when my husband blew up our lives, it took me a loooong time to realize he was in pain too, and I'm not half as damaged as Angie.) So maybe part of Angie's journey this season will be toward therapy and forgiveness.  Maybe it will be part of Will's journey too.

And judging by the previews, communication between Will and Angie might begin next episode.

As always, here for the Betty content, but the comedy of the cast keeps me coming back too.

I didn't care so much about the MOTW. Oh no, a family of ultra-rich monsters who've been destroying the environment and covering up for their sex pest brother are killing each other. Me, looking around at the world in general: "okay!"

The wife swan walking along as Angie carried off the dead husband swan was sad but sweet.

When John the handyman was taken into custody, he said he didn't kill Alice Finney and he didn't hurt Alma. Alma was the woman with the black eye, but who is Alice? Is that the 17-year-old he went to prison for killing? If so, I think we are going to see John again because there's more to that story.

I burst out laughing when Angie quit her job and said to the awful HOA manager or whoever she was, "go hump yourself." If the networks aren't going to let characters swear realistically, then it's better to just have them say nothing. "Go hump yourself" made me think of an early episode of 21 Jump Street with a street gang who had kids saying things like, "get the heck out of here!" and "I don't give a darn about that!"

I admit to being squicked out by the way Angie is being welcomed back as if her actions weren't responsible for Krystal's death. Of course Faith killed a fellow cop and everyone seems to have gotten over that.

That was my first thought. Why weren't they all fleeing the room?

Angie getting her job back is BS.

One thing I like about this show is that the female officers get to kick ass on a regular basis. Angie's fight scene was awesome.

Doctor Pete and Franklin are my favorite supporting characters. I don't like how they keep disrespecting Pete. I wanted to see his improv skills.

Angie must have been thrilled that she just so happened to find something sketchy happening so that she could use it to get back on the force, she was almost glowing when she found that finger! I get that Angie thought what she was doing was the right thing with Crystal, but everyone cheering her as a hero when she got her job back like nothing happened is just going to reinforce the idea to her that she didn't actually do anything wrong, even though her actions ended up getting Crystal killed. She and Will really need to have a talk, she really does not see his side of things at all but if they talked I like to think that they could work it out. 

I am guessing that the handyman will come back again, either as another rapist bad guy for Angie to obsess over and probably have to kill, or she'll realize that he never committed the crime he was convicted for and she has to find the real killer. It would be interesting if she finds out that he was framed by some overzealous cop who was convinced that he was guilty and sent an innocent man away and let a killer escape, and she really does have to grapple with what she did.  

The COTW was alright, since none of the characters cared about the case I really didn't either. I was convinced that the sister who lives in Europe was the killer, it felt like her crying and yelling about her family felt really forced, like she was putting on an act for the cops, but I guess it was just a weird performance. 

A lot of really funny lines this week, the whole cast plays off of each other so well. "Brown is part of a color palette!" 

Poor Betty got used to going to work with her dad every day, no wonder she's stressed.

I love Pete and Franklin. That whole scene with the reenactment, or whatever it was, was a lot of fun. Franklin with his accent cracked me up.

I wonder if the handyman was exonerated.  Otherwise how could someone who raped & murdered a 17 year old be out of prison?  Someone who cut out the tongue of the victim?  The guy looks like he's about 40, way too young to be paroled for such a terrible crime.  But then why wouldn't Ormewood tell Angie that when she said she was locked in with John?  Or was there some egregious investigative/prosecutorial misconduct which resulted in his release?  I assume we have not seen the last of John.  

Does Nico have a job?  They seem to have a lot of time to hang out and comment on Will's wardrobe choices, take care of Betty, take her to the vet, take her to visit Angie, etc.

This was a great episode. The writing was popping and the cast was on fire.

Peter and especially Frank were MVPs. From the scene where they are 'autopsying' the swan:

"This is Nasty"

"I hate it here"

"I’mma shoot everyone in this room"

and of course the re-enactment scene was so fun from Frank deciding to be British, to Ormewood thinking he was a 'trapist' to Pete being disgruntled at not being able to use his improv skills.

I liked Angie's case more than the A-plot case, but I feel some type of way about her whole re-instatement and how everybody was so happy.  I get it.  This is realistic. But still... bleh.

Loved the title card this week.

The name of the character who was the HOA President was "Kathy Humps", so I think it was just sort of a play on making fun of her last name with the innuendo attached.  

I had to think about that a while, though!

That swan must have been in rigor for it to be that stiff and easy for Angie to carry. Plus, a bird that big would be incredibly heavy, but Angie seemed to have no problem lifting and hauling it a considerable distance. In other words, that was one unrealistic bird corpse, lol. 

The grieving swan made me really sad.

In my rewatch of this episode, I wanted to point out how much I loved the dead swan conversation Angie had with Poppy and talking to Princess Kate (the female half of the swan couple, named William and Kate ha ha) while Air Supply's "All Out of Love" played. Genius!  And Angie counseling Princess Kate saying she didn't have to mate for life. She could fly away and find a new pond. But Poppy told her the swans couldn't fly because their wings had been clipped. And of course Angie could identify with that.

The writing was stellar this episode, and the music choices as well.

I hope we see John again because you raise a lot of questions I didn't even consider. From the last ep I thought there was something sketchy about him, but not a rape and murder. But yeah, his story has a lot of holes in it that the show better fill.

Will Trent has never been a popular police officer.   The pilot episode had him being hated for investigating fellow officers.    That is not something that wins you many friends.   Views on police have changed ALOT over the years so someone like Will Trent who publically arrests the only woman he has ever really loved just hits differently now.    I am not saying what he didn’t want the right thing but the way he did it didn’t win him any friends.    Angie on the other hand despite her many flaws is popular among the other police and always has been.    I am guessing everyone was just happy to see her back while no one is particularly happy to see Will Trent who has really done nothing to ingratiate himself with his fellow police.  
 

and yes I can understand why Angie is angry at him but I can also understand why Will did what he did.  It’s a terrible situation.
