The team is put into harm's way when McCall's former CIA colleague (Ilfenesh Hadera) is found alive and sets her sights on revenge by attempting to abduct Dante, Harry and Mel. Also, Aunt Vi and Delilah must act quickly to de-escalate a hostage situation of their own when a robber targets a bodega.

This had some good moments but anything CIA related bores me. I just want these people helping regular folks who are squeezed out of the system. Plus, if I were Robyn, I would have just let them grab Fisk and called it a day. She left the CIA. She owes no one a thing.

The violent sequences seemed way over the top , even for this show and the amount if "iminent danger" was such a trope, it was laughable.

I can't believe I'm saying this but the best part was the Aunt Vi/Dee storyline.  That was compelling...and worthwhile. Also Dante on the truth serum was fun too...

I will say the idea of Dante pairing up with Harry was cool too.

I have no doubt they will all return but I am hoping that after this, they are completely done with CIA and terrorism plotlines.....and with all that said, I don't know if I really will watch the show when it comes back....

Terrible season finale. That was torture porn and I am not here for that. I'm glad that I wasn't watching with my family. Also it didn't make logical sense.

The Vi-and-Dee in the store was better (do NY movies allow people to bring food in? Because they don't where I live so Vi and Dee were going to break the movie theatre's rules). But while Vi's speech was inspiring, what is she going to do to actually help the guy? Talk is cheap.

They did this to us again???

Also, good to know that cardioversion will reverse truth serum... ;-)

Aunt Vi is by leaps and bounds the best actor on the show, and I'm glad we got that plotline. Also, good for Dee for realizing the gun wasn't loaded (they finally showed that).

I don't necessarily mind the CIA stuff but this was overkill.  Also, wasn't Robyn calling for backup; what happened to that?

I also liked the Aunt Vi/Dee storyline.  It would be interesting to see if Aunt Vi is going to try and help the guy.

This show has strayed from its core premise as far as I'm concerned: Helping the little guy or gal. And yeah, Aunt Vi is trying, but she is not "The Equalizer" here.

This show needs to dial back the CIA schtick big time and go back to that core.

"You're gonna watch them burn!" mwa-ha-has the villain. Hey, you do realize people are flammable too, right? If you set them up in a room full of fire they will probably escape because Hollywood fire is considerate like that. If you set them on fire they would have been dead before Robyn could get halfway down the hall.

Drugged Dante was fun. He rarely ever gets to relax on this show and never, ever gets to be funny.

All in all, I liked the robbery plot more although I thought the ending was a little optimistic. Dee jumping in the way of the cops would probably get her shot in this world. Now that would have been a cliffhanger. The cops bust in, end up shooting Dee because they think she's the robber and they won't listen to the white guy when he tries to confess. He ends up being hailed as a local hero while Dee is facing big medical bills and criminal charges because the cops saw her within three feet of a gun. That might be too realistic for this show though.

This was awful. Just awful. On every level.

The CIA story was so convoluted and ridiculous. Did these people want Robyn to lead them to Fisk or Fisk to lead them to Robyn? Who knows? Who cares? And please don't get me started on those fight scenes. Overlong and insanely choppy. Please just hire a few stunt people so that the fight scenes don't look like something edited by a blender. Also, did we need multiple scenes of Robyn running where the camera focused on Robyn's feet? Wut?

Then we had this wooden actress playing Michelle, a character we'd never heard about before and her role was pretty much that of a Batman villain. Did Mel, Harry, or Dante say "You'll never get away with this!" because that's the required trope. We also had Fisk doing the Lethal Weapon style nonsense where you goad your torturer.

And the robbery story, oh chile. Imagine being the other people caught in this robbery and just standing there while Vi pontificates and plays armchair hostage negotiator. Did anyone else notice that none of the extras ever changed position? There was a couple behind Vi and Dee with their arms around each other who never moved. Also didn't the robbery take place during the daytime while Robyn, Dante, and the rest were running around at night?

Ugh. Awful.

I could quote Stonehaven above on just about everything they said.    Does CBS feel that the only shows people want to watch on Sunday night contain plenty of blood and gore and machine guns blazing?  Seems they take off everything that doesn't contain that (East Night York, previous season's God Friended Me, and I could go even further back).

Last night's episode was disgusting - yeah "torture porn" says it all.   When you find the Dee/Aunt Vi storyline more compelling and more of what some of us thought this show was supposed to be about, rather than the main plot, that says it all.

If the show continues with this awful CIA/Ultra Violent crap after the comeback episode next season, I'm out.

I really missed Call the Midwife last night; can't wait for Grantchester. That's what I like on a Sunday night!

I like The Equalizer when it's not over-the-top ridiculous. This show wasn't that. Aunt Vi/Dee's story line was good, though.

Ugh.  I really hated this episode.  I love this show and I love Queen Latifah, but this episode was the pits.

I am beyond tired of Colton Fisk.  I truly don't care about this character and I groaned when he showed up.  For fans of "Murdoch Mysteries", it's the same groan I find myself making whenever Terence Meyers pops up yet again.  Fisk has become one of those characters.  I know they won't get rid of him, but I was hoping he would be offed.

The Michelle thing is also unbelievable.  So much hate from her towards Robyn.  She never once contacted Robyn in all these years?  Robyn saw the warehouse explode, what was she supposed to think? Of course Robyn thought Michelle was dead.  For Michelle to become fully indoctrinated into the Evil Venezuelan Group, yeah, ok.

Dante getting drugged up was pointless.  He never got the antidote, did he?  Just the shock paddles and that seemed to make him ok?

Vi/Dee story seemed shoehorned in.  It was well done by the actors.  But I really wanted Delilah to use her training to take the guy down in a fight.  Maybe throw a soup can at him and then disable him.  She did use her training to recognise the threat and then she observed that the gun was empty, so I guess there's that.

I'm still angry that God Friended Me was cancelled. I also like East New York a lot.

I agree that this episode had way too much violence.

I don't normally read the reactions before watching, but I did for this one; so thanks everyone for the head's up on the subpar A-plot. Loopy Dante was kinda fun, but otherwise, this plot seemed to just be an excuse to string together several fight scenes? And I appreciate a good fight scene, but it was a little much. Also I was already tired of Fisk and CIA intrigue, so I was not interested in a completely new villain we've never heard of until now. (Is she going to be a recuurring threat next season?) And then ending on that cliffhanger -- I guess that's what getting renewed for 2 seasons gets you.  :-/

Aunt Vi and Dee's story was good, if mostly predictable.

I liked Robyn's outfit, but Aunt Vi's coat was the only fashion standout here.

And the fact that Robin taught her that-to observe every little detail around her. Now she sees the benefit of using all her skills, as she was able to save the perp’s life (he may appreciate that later).

Ugh. I absolutely HATE when they bring the CIA into it. Fisk is no Bishop and the writers aren't clever enough to come up with a really compelling espionage/international mystery storyline. And like others, I don't understand why Robin has any loyalty to him. The man calls her "mall cop" for Pete's sake. Once she realized they had him, she should have just said, "Sucks to be him" and went about her business.

The highlight of the episode for me was the sign on the wall of what was obviously a Target that said "Lowell St. Bodega & Grocery." Bodega, my ass. 😂

Right? It was so obviously a Target. I kept thinking "go out through the stockroom and escape through the loading bay."

I wasn't going to bother to nitpick, but yeah - that was sooooo NOT a bodega!

I love how big the bathroom at the store was. Yeah, as if they'd ever be that big.

I just don't care about the CIA stuff. I don't care about Michelle. We've never heard of her before. I hate Fisk because he's always a jerk to Robyn. Why she does anything with him I really don't know.

I loved the Aunt Vi stuff with the homeless man. Those scenes were really great. I liked that Delilah figured out quickly what was going to happen.

Its frustrating because I love Donal Logue, and his talent is so wasted here.  Can't believe he's doing this kind of script.  Yeah, agree with all the above, get back to helping regular people who don't have anyone else to help them.

This is exactly what I thought, I know Robyn has a good heart but even for her I didn't understand why she went after Fisk considering he has been nothing but trouble to her and her team.

I think this will be how they'll be save next season, otherwise I don't see how she can magically do it herself unless Mel gets herself free and saves Harry and Dante.

I think someone will have to die and hopefully it'll be Fisk, I don't believe the CIA works in the context of the show but if they bring someone else from the CIA I'd like it to be someone like Bishop that helps the team rather than the team be involved in these types of storylines.

I wouldn't mind seeing Dee and aunt Vi form a team to help other people, Dee could be the mini-vigilante and aunt Vi be the heart of the operation. At least I prefer this to Dee trying to make it in fashion while aunt Vi's just there as an art teacher.

On a superficial side, I just love the wardrobe people, they dress Robyn so cool yet comfortable enough for her to do her vigilante stuff and I love Harry's style too.

I didn't realize the show is actually successful, at least they're in the Top 20 and I think that's good enough to last at least 2 more seasons, while there's definitely some flaws I enjoy Queen Latifah and especially Lorraine Toussaint.

I love Robyn's clothes. She always looks so great no matter what she wears. I also like that she wears clothes that's appropriate for what she does.

Her hair, though-- not practical for the job, too easy to grab. I like it, but it doesn't match her practical wardrobe.

This applies to the whole cast, actually! 😝

We know the four of them aren’t going to die, so was it a real cliffhanger?  Fisk can go. It was a stupid episode for such a good show.  Delilah and Vi were good negotiators.

True although people don't grab for the hair as much as they should.

If Robyn is going to work on the car, then she needs to wear an old tshirt, not a pretty top that will get stained.

The premise of the show is Robyn helping those downtrodden who can’t get help.  That’s not the CIA, Fisk etc.  She doesn’t need their backing anymore, she has the DA’s backing.  She hasn’t been Investigated once for her various shootings.
