When shocking new evidence surfaces from the “Bleeding Heart Murder Case,” Jenny and Beau team up with Cassie and achieve a major breakthrough. Elsewhere, Buck struggles with his moral ambiguity, and cracks begin to form in his and Sunny’s marriage.

More suspects! What is happening?

There has to be something that Sunny and Buck are involved in or covering up or something. They can't just be cool going around killing their customers without a reason. Buck is just as creepy as Walter. Sure he's not his father?

That was an extreme reaction to get police attention by that Dad. I guess he was desperate?

What did Jenny do this episode?  The only thing I noticed was she was having trouble re-holstering her gun. At least Cassie and Denise went into the woods during daylight. Sheriff Beau was doing his job, great as always. Hope he gets Emily out of there after this murder.

What to say about Emily? Did she really think following Luke was a good idea after 20 min in, and the sun starting to set? What did she hope to accomplish anyway? In his eyes, she's a child (which she is), why would he give her the time of day?

Why is it getting so dark so quickly? Isn't it supposed to still be summer? With long days? Does Montana not have long summer days? I've never been in that area so don't have any idea.

Was that it with Lyle Lovett and Darius Rucker? Are they coming back? Loved Tonya and Donno again. Will they bring Ren back to mediate?

So many questions!

Another question, why did Carla and Beau divorce? From what we've seen so far, there doesn't seem to be any specific reason. I wish they had an episode of whatever happened to him in Houston, whose death he was grieving, and how he ended up in Montana.

Emily, walking alone in the woods at night suspecting that there is something bad going on isn't the brightest idea of yours. I think Beau should have some serious talk with his daughter. I was really afraid that Buck would kill her, too. I'm glad he didn't, though.

What was that with Buck and the blood on his hands at the beginning? He seemed enjoying it.

That's funny, tbh. I mean, if you want to get rid of someone, all you have to do is just send him/her to Sunny's camp, because highly likely you will never see that person again. 😄 Actually, Sunny ad Buck may develop their business into that direction based on their little experience, if the police don't arrest them.

Well, it’s about time they actually got moving on the glamping storyline, although a little more backstory about Beau along the way would have been nice.  In seven episodes all that’s really known about him besides the law enforcement background is mentions of a brother, an ex-wife, and a daughter.  Emily is just all kinds of annoying for getting into these ridiculous situations, and I don’t think the actress is very good, either.  Your father’s a cop, but no call or text to him about all the wacky shenanigans going on?  Trying to follow all the characters and their motivations so far has been fun, however.  The inclusion of Lyle Lovett and Darius Rucker (as some sort of bounty hunters or hit men, I guess?) was a bit random, like the show was trying to be all, “Look at who we got to come on our show!”  Maybe they’ll be back in another episode.

Because of posts here, all I kept seeing was Jenny's rocker t-shirt. I stared at it the whole time she was on screen, and got irritated when the camera moved in on her face and cropped the t out.

I hope all of Sunny's customers paid in full and up front, no refunds.

Donno stole this episode for me. I'd like to see a whole series of Donno and what's-her-face.

Yeah, Darius and Lyle were an odd addition for hit men. Of all the people Reba knows, I wondered why those two. Not that there was anything wrong with that! I just saw Lyle on Dinner Drive With Kyle Petty and really enjoyed him so was pleased he appeared here.

Dead body found in woods, so haul the body via a tv western, slung over the back of a horse. Buck (and Emily, child of a cop) need to watch more CSI dramas on how to approach -- and leave untouched -- a crime scene.

So, Reba was just the beginning: we've now got both Lyle Lovett and Darius Rucker showing up as possible hitmen for the organization that Tonya and Donno are currently working with.  I wonder who will be next?!  So many country singers turned actors to pick from!  I know Trace Adkins is busy with his own show on FOX, but Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are now available since 1883 is done, right?!

Interesting that Jenny and Beau's "case of the week" is actually part of the main crime now, but was just separate from all of the other camp drama and the whole Bleeding Heart stuff.  The victim's father really did take the most extra way possible to get them on track, but desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess?  Looks like Walt might be connected to all of it as well, but I'm still going to hold off on declaring him the killer despite his general demeanor.

After generally having a good head on her shoulders, I guess it was time for Emily to turn into a dumb teen by trying to follow Luke (some who may or may not be a killer, in her eyes) into the woods and in the dark none the less.  At least it did force Buck to have to escalate them "discovering" Mary's body.

Speaking of which, Buck sure has gotten creepy now.  I mean, yeah, the whole stabbing an innocent woman in her back last week was bad enough, but his reactions here to the blood and body was.... something.  Apparently, Cormac is the only member in this family who doesn't have any screws loose.  Either that or he's just really good at hiding it.  Watch him being the worst of them all!

Avery is barely trying to hide behind is facade anymore.

Paige might be getting her revenge on Luke very soon!

I noticed the new rocker t-shirt on Hoyt. At least if she wore one twice, but seriously, she has an abundance of rocker t's but only 2 pairs of jeans, both too tight, and 1 pair of boots?

The story needs to move a little faster. I like the weekly crime but it seems to be slowing down the main crime's progression.

Emily? One word; stupid! Mom's not much better. She hadn't seen her daughter in hours and is just waiting at the camp? Beau dodged a bullet with that one.

Is it only me or does Denise always seem a little slick, like she needs a shower? I can't put my finger on it, but something about her is bugging me. Also, if Denise can hide under a desk, Denise could run out the front door.

Personally, I liked the addition of Lyle and Darius.

I have never heard of a private detective sharing cases with the police and via versa.  Who does Cassie bill for her time?   The county? Seriously they all just work the same case?

Walter is not old enough to be the killer from 20+ years ago.

I'm wondering if his reaction is supposed to be a clue that he is the serial killer. He seems to be aroused by it. Super creepy.

Seth Gabel is 41 years old, he's definitely old enough to be the killer from 20 years ago.  Which is not to say he IS the killer but he's old enough to be it.

Cassie is still working for the parents of the backpacker(and if she solves the case there may be some reward involved), she told them she would find out who did this.

Thank you for Seth’s age.   He is old enough then, and he does  carve the figurines with the heart.  I still think it’s a red herring. one question that needs answered is where was Walter at the time of the original murder? We are being led to believe that he would have spent time in either prison or a mental institution for killing his parents.  We are also being  led to believe that Sunny, her spouse and Cormac  are not from here, moved to this location recently and set up shop here. Sunny having moved Walter there too.

I still believe that PIs and police do not work together as if they were partners.  Jenny and Cassie act as if the PI office and the police station were two locations of the same entity.

Wow!

This episode was something else!

Loved it so much, but as with all the others I need to watch again to take it all in, and especially because I'm always so bedazzled by our dear Sheriff Beau on the first go round.

Loved how he comforted Denise.

Both actors were both so good in that scene.

And as far as he and Jenny going to the rescue of Cassie, who they thought was in the clutches of the original killer even though it was really only a tormented-by-grief dad?-well, as I stated elsewhere-Sheriff Beau Arlen simply completes me.

And I would not be the least bit surprised if it's eventually shown that our Jenny feels the same.

I'm wondering if the Tonya and Donno and co. storyline might continue on parallel to the glamping storyline and even become of equal or greater importance as the series goes forward this season.

Back with more after my second watch.

Most likely they consider Cassie a consultant on a case by case basis.  Which is actually pretty common on tv shows when they want to have a cop and non-cop working together on police cases and is a real life "job".   Per Zip Recruiter, definition: "Another form of police consulting is when an independent consultant is hired by a department to perform investigatory duties related to solving or prosecuting a criminal case. Typically, these jobs are filled by former police officers, private investigators, or forensic specialists."  So Jenny actually can set Cassie up to work at the Sheriff's department for now, as a consultant.  Obviously Beau wouldn't be against it.

I can't remember from the previous season but I believe Jenny may also have part ownership of Dewell and Hoyt Detective Agency.  If so Jenny's may still be involved in the detective agency in that way, even if she's not working as a detective anymore.

This season is just getting more and more wild. We have more suspects, more possible murders, and even the case of the week has now been folded into the main case. Then, just to add to the madness, Lyle Lovett and Darius Rucker show up as singing cowboy assassins, presumably Reba called and told them about this batshit crazy job she got and asked if they wanted in. For all this season is getting crazy, its still by far the most consistently written this show has ever been.

At first I was totally on the "the girls dad did it" train, but now it might be that he's just grief stricken and obsessed, maybe regretting how he treated his daughter while she was alive. Buck's reaction to the blood was creepy, maybe he was the killer all along? That whole family seems to have several screws loose except for Cormac, for now at least.

Emily has generally averted being a stupid TV teen, but then she has to go and run off alone in the woods at night looking for Luke, I was half convinced that Buck was going to gut her right then and there before he decided to roll with it. Even without a killer possibly being on the loose, not the smartest idea.

Tonya and Donno continue to be the best. So when do these guys they're working for collide with the rest of the story? There are so many subplots but the season seems shockingly cohesive, like this really is all going to have a point.

Beau comforting Denise was sweet, what a guy.

I think he is. Walter is mid to late thirties. That would make him a mid teenager to 18 years old at the time of the murders.

I also had to LOL at Denise, who, when seeing the file folders scattered on the floor and feeling something was amiss, just continued inside.  I hate it when characters do that on shows.  Yep, gonna look for someplace to hide instead of hauling ass outta there.🙄

That Emily, Avery and Carla haven't noped the fuck out of this trip is just beyond absurd at this point. I can see a case if they were, like, held captive or something, but they're not at the moment, they're just hanging around a place where no mom would ever let her daughter continue to hang around in.

I can’t stand listening to Reba McIntyre talk anymore. That twang is too much.

I grew up in a small town in Oklahoma, so it sounds a little more pronounced than most, but basically normal to me.  However, she does sound geographically out of place here.

Odd that the show is presenting country singers as villains.  Reba is fascinating as a mama bear to a serial killer.  But then Lyle Lovette and my favorite male pop singer of the '90s Darius Rucker as henchmen to the outside villain come off as a bit gratuitous.

Yeah, she's hot!

Finally, even though they're the bad guys, I can't help but ship the Heck out of Donno and Tonya.  So I was glad to see him give her a pretty pistol.

Carla right now, I assume, "Okay, so far on this camping trip, one lady mysteriously vanished and another lady was murdered. I can handle that. But I swear, if a second person gets murdered, I'm totally taking my teenage daughter out of this place! Maybe."

Only this show could make me empathize with Donno, lol. The poor guy wants to actually go legit and just cook good food! His expression at Tonya's refusal to give up the job was surprisingly heartbreaking.

Too bad he and Darius Rucker didn't get a chance to bond over pickles, or whatever.

I'm actually impressed that Avery managed to weird out Donno, lol.

Denise and Em take the joint prize in the weekly "dumbest actions by a supporting character" contest. Denise going under the desk instead of out the door. Sigh.

Paige at the end may have been the second creepiest character, just after Buck sniffing up his blood stained hand.

Cormac is onto his two whackadoodle parents being up to something. I'd still like to think he's innocent.

This glamping trip just needs a Benny Hill soundtrack and a montage of all the various killers and villains chasing each other around the woods.

I love this stupid show, and this may actually be my favorite season.

Lyle Lovett probably looked at that scene script and said something like "This guy's nickname is 'Possum'?  Seriously?  You guys have heard of George Jones, right?"  I want the three singers to bond one night at the saloon over good old murder ballads, like Long Black Veil, Tom Dooley, or Folsom Prison Blues.

Well, at least the glampers will finally start staying in camp during the night.

So, I've watched enough shows with serial killers to know that if they stop it's for a reason.  Usually because they're in jail (either for the serial killings or something completely unrelated) or they die.  But, on Criminal Intent there was a serial rapist who stopped because he got married.  So, we need to figure out what the killer has been doing the last 20 years. Cormac is older than 20 (I think anyway, hard to tell with TV), so if we're going with the theory of Buck, it's not because he met Sonny and decided to mend his ways.  If it's Walter, I don't think his mother telling him to hide in the woods would do it.

Speaking of Walter, if he kills Luke, will that ruin Sunny and Buck's plan?  How will they fit that into their story?

And, yes I will pile on with everyone else in calling Emily a moron..  I mean the last time she stumbled onto him alone in the woods she ran away (smart move) and now she's following him of her own accord?  Makes no sense.

If they have one brain cell to rub together amongst them, they'll get the heck out of there.

And that reminds me, why did Luke need to leave through the woods?  How did they get there in the first place?  If Donno and what's-her-name could just leave to "check on the restaurant" surely he and Paige came in a vehicle that he could just leave in, right?

If the murder weapon is Emily's knife and the cops find that out, he'll have to know something's up, because he's the one who picked the knife up and preesumably gave it to his parents off-screen.  If that was Emily's knife.  If it was not, I don't know where it ended up.  Either way, I'm not really sure why it was never returned to Emily. Surely they weren't planning for this eventuality

How dumb was Sunny to put Paige’s phone under the mattress?  It would have her fingerprints all over it, and how would she explain that?

I think Walter is the original killer, but he didn’t kill the backpacker, we know that.

Avery is a shady financial guy?  I thought he owned a tech company.  And when did Donno & Tonya find that out?  They’ve been at the camp this whole time.

For once Luke seemed authentic telling Emily that there were bad people there.  No snark, just fear.

Tonya actually looked scared when she was told they need to kill Luke.  I bet Donno saves him from Walt.  And Donno looked so forlorn when he said he never had anything he cared abt to lose before.

So many bad guys, so many mysteries.

How long was Emily’s family’s glamping trip supposed to last? Have they been there a week with a “case of the week” every day? It feels  like it’s lasted forever.

And the scenes in the woods AT NIGHT, are killing me.

In spite of the pretty, no way is Cormack normal/innocent with the family he has.

There are so many dumb things happening in this show, but it's just so entertaining! Donno has become my new favourite character. And Emily is so stupid and annoying, I can't stand her. I was hoping she would meet her demise in the woods.

Maybe Emily is adopted.  For someone with two very smart parents, she sure doesn't have any sense of reality or self-preservation, and she doesn't look anything like either of them.
