There's been much ass-kissing to Whoopi in recent years, but none reached the nauseating level that Jo Koy did this week.  That was unwatchable.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.  I thought it was me--because I had no idea who he was (other than someone Chelsea Handler just broke up with).  He'll probably go far in Hollywood. 

Whoopi was just soaking it all in, as usual.  There's nothing the EGOT loves more than being sucked up to.  I wonder of the entire production staff (including executive producers) are required to do a certain amount of sucking.

Most people when having someone give them such a tongue bath they might say oh please stop but not our Whoopi. She was loving it.

I wonder if the TPTB thought officially having Ana join the View would be a distraction from Alyssa joining the View. I'm curious what the dynamic will be between Ana and Alyssa. Will they be friendly or antagonistic.  I don't foresee Alyssa telling Ana she isn't a real Republican but you never know.

If that was their plan, it failed miserably. Ana's been on 2-3 day weeks pretty much all season, or more (Whoopi's suspension, Bahamas). Nothing would distract from them hiring who they did, considering where she came from.

He was wound up. I’ve seen a lot of him because I follow Chelsea on FB but low and behold he was on Family Feud 3 days ago and said exact same thing to Steve Harvey how he’s responsible for paving the way or why he’s in the business. 
I fell in love with Kevin Bacon 10-11 years ago when I saw a video of him singing Go my Way ( the iPod song) which starts  out with him in long underwear in a kitchen. . I ordered several CDs and my husband was rolling his eyes at me.

Oh, I don't get that vibe, at all,  To me, they have reached a point where they can kid each other, and we can get a glimpse  of Ana being "haha" funny.  I think they are friends off the show.

Joy is almost 80.  I don’t know why she would mind a shorter work week.  She may have requested it.  Whoopi has had a four day work week for years.

I'm sure Joy's extra day off is the result of her recent contract negotiations. I'm happy for her, but I don't enjoy the show nearly as much when she's out.

You'd think so, but the McCain years showed how little respect the show and the people there have for Joy to have allowed all of that, which is ironic considering without Joy agreeing to return in 2015 this show wouldn't even exist right now. There would be a third hour of GMA in this time slot. I don't buy it was Joy's decision since in the little video they had ending the show today, Joy said she doesn't think she would ever retire... That tells me her age isn't bothering her at all. It's more that someone had to sit out for Monday's, they likely pushed at Joy to be the one, and she went along to get along because she's always been that way. If she just wanted a 3-day weekend, it would've happened organically rather than simply because they needed someone to sit out for Ana's sake. Maybe Joy agreed to it since Ana is being a drama queen with her lately anyway--one less day to be around her. If Ana's going to keep being a raincloud on Friday's with Joy next season, she can eat rocks. Go back to your 3-minute guest spots on CNN and take the stilted jokes you read off Twitter with you.

Speaking of other co-hosts who the show has treated like shit, that video they showed reminded me how I wish Rosie Perez could've come back as a guest co-host for the 25th anniversary although I understand if she wouldn't have been interested. I mean, I knew there was zero chance for O'Donnell appearing (she wouldn't have wanted to with Whoopi there and Whoopi wouldn't have allowed it anyway). I wonder if they even bothered reaching out to Perez at all.

I was thinking about that earlier. 
 

I wish that, instead of reruns, they would do some sort of “Best of the View” and just put together shows full of interviews similar to what Kelly and Ryan do when they’re both on vacation.

Not only that, but they have 25 years of interviews they could use. They could dedicate an episode  to one celebrity and show all of their interviews over the years. I wonder if they’d have to pay royalties to former cohosts for re-airing their segments.

I see they're airing an episode from the week Ruffin co-hosted, when Ana's grudge began. Seeing that on the schedule and a re-run of Tara yesterday--I'll be honest that that particular situation is why I'm glad Tara didn't make it onto the show, aside from the fact I just plain ol' don't like Tara. It was obvious Ana and Sunny were pushing hard to get Tara in the seat, their egos would have got even more out of control if they'd felt they had "won."

I don't watch The View very often at all. But with them hiring Ana as the fifth wheel, don't think there is gonna be much of a different view. The times I have watched, she agrees with a lot of what is said by the 4 democrats/socialists on the panel. I didn't even know that she was a republican by the way she has talked the times I watched.  If she is a republican, she is a very liberal one, definitely not a conservative.

Ana is socially liberal but fiscally conservative, like many mainstream, moderate Republicans who immigrated legally and believe in hard work and paying their own way to get what they want in life.  Whoopi complains about taxes & bike lanes like people farther right of Ana. Sunny is even farther right when the subject is gender roles in marriage, the Phyllis Schlafly of sleeping in makeup to look nice for your man.

The odd thing about Whoopi is that she wants fewer taxes, but more social services and free (or much cheaper) college and student loan forgiveness. I think she should be complaining less about the taxes she pays, and more about the WAY the taxes are used. Countries that offer the kind of public services she would like also collect plenty of taxes, but (theoretically at least) also use them more efficiently and effectively.

Whoopi has never really been accused of complicating matters.  Her accountant does her taxes, tells Whoopi she owes X amount of dollars.  Whoopie gets pissed.  Whoopie gets stuck in NYC traffic on the way to work, notices the bike lanes and Whoopie gets pissed.  She's kind of selfish that way.

This show is re-run today. I enjoyed the drone footage, but it seems that there are a LOT of stairs there! I wondered how well a person with mobility issues could get around there. I suppose there are some elevators (not ideal for a drone sequence) to travel between floors, but there also seemed to be some elevation changes with just a few steps up and down at different points on the same floor. I hope that folks who have trouble with stairs have other options for getting around there.
