Good on Kylie - she knows how to relate to her customers and run her company.

So does Maury Povich. They both have stuff in common. Both of them have famous fathers (Robert Kardashian & Shirley Povich). Both of them catered to the LCD, both of them are very ratchet, & both of them are very rich. The only difference between Kylie Jenner & Maury Povich is that Maury is way more likable & has some sense of self-respect (unlike his guests on the show & Kylie).

Pretty much every product that Kim, Kourtney and Khloe launched tanked miserably. For as beautiful as Kim was in her prime, she never had the same level of success that Kylie's managed to generate with her makeup brand.

When Kim, Kourtney and Khloe were in their prime, social media, smart phones and e-commerce as we now it really didn’t exist and it was all in its infancy. Not enough to build up what Kylie’s team has built up.

Years later, they try to shill all kinds of crap, forgetting they’re unrelatable to 16 year olds and the products are total crap.

(Yes, Kylie’s makeup is crappy too, ever since she dropped Colour Pop and went with a cheaper manufacturer. But makeup is something most girls love and sells easily.)

Kylie’s dad is Caitlyn Jenner.

She has no Kardashian blood in her at all.

Kim has managed to do quite well with social media. Without it I think the whole Kardashian phenomenon and reality shows  in general would not have  taken off and been so successful. Kylie has taken that to a whole new level.

I’ll give Kris props too, because she used Kim’s desire for stardom and her own  ruthless singlemindedness in business to push the family into the spotlight. Sadly, I think she’s caused a lot of harm to her kids in terms of the sense of self worth. Something that most likely will be handed down to the next generation.

I don't know . When I watch the show I just see 7 robots including kris . They all look the same , act the same , say " literally " 3 times in a sentence and have horrible taste in men . I wonder if any of the sisters even like each other or they're just contractually obligated to be around  each other and are Just in competition

Not a one picked a winner in terms of men. And they’re all miserable.

And Kylie and Kendall are following in the older girls footsteps with men. Kendall’s new guy’s ex is hounding her and she’s supposedly hiring more security. I guess with Khloe spending time in Cleveland, Kris must have told Kendall she has a family obligation to bring drama this season. She’s gotten off lightly over the years with just “anxiety” and “stalkers” as her contribution. Now she’s gotten orders to step it up.

90s model who loves her coke a little too much

Is this a random model... Kylie? Khloe? Nicolette Sheridan?

Why  is Kris so excited about Summer 2018?  A chance to exploit Khloe’s public humiliation? Will there be parties with golden helium balloon letters and porcupine cake?

I bought a Kylie lip kit.  I love it.  I would buy more when needed, if needed.  Right now I am completely satisfied with my Maliboo shade.  The stuff stays ON.  Like I drink a lot of coffee and soda throughout the day, not to mention I smoke (shame shame).  I come home from work at the end of the day no worse for the wear and my straws (I drink my coffee and my daily Diet Dr. Pepper thru a straw) are clean enough for the most part too.  I think it’s a great product!  Yah I have horrible vices but my lips are covered so I’m happy!

I haven’t seen one of her kits yet, but do they use good ingredients? (non-toxic)

I don't even think Kylie knows what are in her products.

I admit - I've purchased a matte lip - gloss? stick? I can't remember what she calls them.  It was mauevey and I was transported to an old, long since gone YSL color I used in high school.

It's tacky and thick - it will stay on.  I used probably 1/16 of the recommend amount for color.

My curiosity was satisfied.  I paid $.01 for the product and $39.99 for the packaging and name.

They’ve been rerunning episodes and they played the Kim and Kayne wedding episode and here’s the reason why I always have a soft spot for Kylie, the fact that she died her hair blue right before the wedding and said she would dye it black and didn’t and they said she would put in extensions but didn’t at the last minute. I know it’s small but it always makes me smile.

The K sisters got into retail in their late 20s/early 30s and their customer/fan base has always been (relatively) older and more discerning than Kylie's. They achieved a respectable level of success, especially when the tremendous degree of competition for that demographic's dollars is taken into consideration.

Theoretically, there is no limit to Kylie's customer/fan base of tweens, teens and early 20s. She and they will age together, and they're currently at the age when buying the "in" brand matters very much. I think the vast Kardashian machine plus Kylie's target age is why the business is successful, not because she is a capable and accomplished young woman. The widespread criticism I've seen focuses on the "self made" angle in the Forbes article, and rightly so; Kris punched above her weight with that one. Kylie isn't landing marlins, she's shooting fish in a barrel. I'm also not convinced that the nearly one billion dollar figure is accurate. Why should I be? It's not like there are laws regulating truth when hyping a private company.

I seriously doubt that Kylie did anything resembling brainstorming or calling on inspiration, by any stretch of the imagination. I doubt that she offered a favorite piece of jewelry or item of clothing or flower to illustrate what she wanted to see, or even a rock with a unique range and contrast of colors that pleased her. I doubt that she designed the packaging or created a slogan or a logo. I think she attended presentations where the machine offered choices in every category during every step along the way and her contribution consisted of saying yay or nay and maybe, possibly reading the pages that required her initials and signature. So, fuck off, Kris, and go spend your 10% quietly. At least give us that.

EXACTLY.

Why are they called 'lip kits'?  Is there assembly required?  Are the batteries included?   I'm not really a make up person and I just go into Sephora and buy the occasional lipstick.  Make up seems to be a lot more complicated than it used to be!

You get a liquid lipstick and a coordinating liner with it. I have a couple of them and I really like them. And IMO $29 is even an OK price. They stay on well and MAC charges $18 just for a liner.

Yep same here. Btw if you decide on buying on another one give Posie K a shot. I bought it last year after Allure named it the best pink lipstick of 2017 and its gorgeous! I never thought I would even wear a pink this much.

I think she does. Mainly because back when counterfeit lipkits and eyeshadows were being made and sold Kylie was pretty fast to explain about the ingredients and she pointed out the ingredients on the fake boxes and how they differed from the authentic products.

BTW the ingredients are listed right on the packaging of all the products so everything is all out there.

I was watching old episodes too and the brother Jenners really are treated like the ugly step siblings .. I don't understand how Kim , Bruce and family were talking badly about Brody behind his back because kris wanted to fly out and pay for Brandon and his wife's ticket but not for Brody's . And then Kim was like " I'm not gonna accept him saying it's not right of my mom to do that . " I mean , why would she do that for one son and not the other ? even though the show is ridiculously fake , it's pretty clear that Bruce's other kids ( all the B's) were just dropped like hot potatoes from the few episodes I've seen and what I've read online . I saw that Caitlyn didn't even go to brodys wedding.. And didn't Bruce leave them once he married kris ?

Caitlin abandoned all her children. She ditched the first family for the second, the second for the third and left Kendall and Kylie to raise themselves while she focused on her transition. She's a consummate narcissist.

Regarding the LipKit, the pricing isn't bad considering you get the gloss plus the liner. Even if you were to buy a cheap-o brand at the drugstore you'd probably spend close to $20 for both, so Kylie isn't totally gouging her customers.

I wonder if her removing her fillers is going to affect sales? Or if the rest of her family will follow suit.

I don't know when this was filmed, but this makeup tutorial Kylie did for Vogue is interesting. She starts off bare face with no makeup except ChapStick and you see step by step how much makeup she piles on. The lipliner she uses really is excessive. I actually think all the makeup looks nice until she goes all out with the lips.

https://video.vogue.com/watch/kylie-jenner-makeup-tutorial-beauty-secrets-video-lips-foundation-baking-stormi

Fwiw all the recent pics she's been posting I think she reduced the fillers, but didn't get rid of them completely. Her lips look smaller but still more full than what they were when she was younger..unless she still has some swelling from the reduction.

Her lips are still huge, so I dont believe her.  If u look at old pics, she had NO lips.

As I understand it, a doctor can inject an enzyme to help metabolize the filler but it won’t ALL immediately be gone - the body will slowly metabolize the rest. I guess we’ll see in a few weeks if her lips get as thin as they used to be.

Aww, I forgot how truly cute she was! It’s just awful how people criticized her to the point where she mutilated herself. I agree she looks so much older than her age now. Removing(?) the lip fillers helps but she still looks so hardened now. I guess it was a bad sign when we saw her pole dancing at age 9 and no one in her family was horrified.

So, how does this baby-with-pierced-ears thing work - don’t they pull out their earrings and put the sharp little pieces in their mouths?

They use a special kind of earrings for babies/toddlers which has a locking or screwing mechanism in order to take the earrings off. It would be extremely difficult for a baby to pull them off (unless the parent irresponsibily switched the earrings to regular ones with simple backs on them). If a baby somehow managed to yank off the lock/screw backs, they'll likely be screaming from pain than they will be trying to eat the earring.

I actually read the GQ article and watched the Kylie & Travis quiz video (pretty cute) and behind the scenes video - these two seem very connected and good together. There were lots of shots better than the creepy one chosen for the cover.

That's funny because I saw the quiz video and thought he was stabbing in the dark at most of the answers but they marked him correct so Kylie wouldn't look bad.
