The original Teen Mom girls Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout, and Amber Portwood are coming back to MTV for a new season in 2015 without their former costar Farrah Abraham.

 

A follow up special will air this fall featuring the three girls. The network decided to bring the girls back to television after their spin off shows did amazing record wise.

I'm not sure how I feel about Farrah being excluded.

I mean, they never booted Janelle off the island and she's really just the junkie aunt to Jace, who shows up once a month to create havoc. She's far from being anybody's mother. Catelynn gave her daughter up for adoption. Without April and Butch the only story is how her man won't marry her.

As wacky as she is, Farrah is a mother to Sofeeeeyaah. Sophia lives with her when she isn't doing research for her trilogy. She does more parenting than Cate does.

Did MTV give a reason why there's no Farrah? I hope it's not just because she likes anal and did a porno. Doesn't make her a great role model for Soph but I hardly think she should be cast out because of it. Now if they say she's excluded because she's a wack job, well then I have to give them that.

Farrah Abraham was fired by the network.  She's a bad influence, according to execs and co-stars, all of whom wanted her outta here.  MTV had seen enough, felt the diva "sets a bad example and doesn't represent the network."

See, I don't get it. Farrah did Porn. Like it or not, Porn is legal. She didn't break any laws, she just operated in poor taste. (Maybe). So is this slut shaming??

What Janelle does is criminal. Weed, heroin, assault. Janelle belongs in jail but instead of casting her out, MTV continues to keep her on salary?. So it's ok to shoot smack and drive drunk but it better not get laid on camera?

Look at this. The world is on it's ass when I'm defending Farrah.

Farrah's canning might be unrelated to the porn.  It might be because she's a notorious liar and rude to everyone.  Recall, she didn't boldy do porn, she attempted to frame it as a leaked sex tape.  It's possible MTV and the camera crew don't want to deal with her and the backlash she creates.

All said, I'm sure her horrid personality is also to blame and not just the adult entertainment stuff.

Didn't they make a big thing about this show being over? 

 

I have zero interest in seeing Farrah's sociopathic ass, but cutting her out isn't going to be enough to get me to watch the rest of them again. Maci bores, I do NOT want to watch Tyler and Catelynn's pregnancy, and while I was fascinated by Amber in her special, I also basically want her to not be on camera and continue what seems to be good progress towards getting her life together. Something tells me filming Teen Mom again is not going to be good for her sobriety.

 

The issue of hypocrisy here regarding Farrah is interesting. As others have stated above, Janelle is at least as bad. Janelle is the only one I feel seriously bad about watching as MTV bankrolls her terrible behavior. But I can't be sad that Farrah will not be on television (at least on THIS show), Girl seriously needs to stop being a "celebrity".

At this point I really don't know why we're supposed to still care about these girls. They aren't teens anymore. Sure, the kids are cute....but so are my friends' kids who aren't on tv. I think for me this part of the franchise has run its course. Maci is a manipulator, Amber is a reformed(?) abusive bully, Cait and Tyler are a dysfunctional mess, and Farrah....well she's just herself. I'd be satisfied with a catch up special every few years or something.

Well I for one can't turn away from the wreck that is C&T and Amber. Maci is average and boring, so her not so much. And I think the decision to exclude Farrah is based purely on her snotty feuding (and for no reason) with all her fellow cast mates. She was always sniping on them about something, while it seems that the others all support each other no matter what. Hell, they all even support Jenelle! I guess because even though she is as screwed up as can be, she remains kind and supportive to others in the franchise.

I think mtv would love to follow Farrah and her erotic shenanigans. The network standards seem to show that they would LOVE that. But the other girls seem to have ganged up together and said they would be out if Farrah was in... so the network went with the other girls. Who knows, I can imagine Farrah being snotty and demanding with the powers that be as well.

Any premiere date yet?

Outside of the reunion shows, do the girls film together? Or do they do press junkets together? I'm just trying to figure outside of Twatter where there would even cross paths. Amber's jailbird ass is the last that should be refusing to work with someone. She still has that prison yard stink on her.

I know that I only hang out after work with the co-workers that I like, but I don't start a campaign to get rid of the co-workers I don't like. I just don't bring them any leftover Danish from the meetings.

I just want MTV to come out and say MTV refused to work w Farrah any longer because the chick is a wack job.

I think they're just being catty. Outside of press junkets and possibly the reunion specials I don't think they see each other. I think it's ultimately up to MTV to make the choice, not the other 3 girls. They're just trying to do some diva type shit, if that's what really happened.

 

Personally I'd rather see a series following Farrah and her new job as a stripper/former porn star/author. I think that would be far more entertaining and snark worthy than anything the other 3 could ever come up with. Farrah has enough crazy for an entire country.

Weirdest thing about it is that she hardly ever (come to think of it, maybe never) refers to Gary by name. She calls him "my ex-fiancé" and "my daughter's father" etc but doesn't really say Gary. It's weird because if you're reading the book, you likely are doing so because you watched Teen Mom and know who Gary is.

I'm going to miss the Farrah train wreck show. Plus the reasons for dumping her are so absurd. She did porn. I'm the biggest prude on the block and I'm going to say so what? Amber has been to jail, hit Gary, and lost custody of her child. And Farrah's not supportive? Oh grow the fuck up you babies. Not everybody in life is going to be nice to you. I get that it was probably MTVs call and I'm not going to argue that Farrah isn't a whacked out sociopath but the story they're trying spin is insulting. Amber can be a violent, drugged out criminal, but Farrah had sex on camera and didn't even act ashamed or beg for forgiveness!

MTV hasn't specified why Farrah was removed. It supposed to come up on the Teen Mom 2 reunion. I tend to think it's because she's nasty and awful to work with.

Probably. I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that she's worse than Amber. Who hits people and gets arrested.

Does anyone know what happened with Teen Mom 3? Truth be told, I found those girls pretty interesting. When it wasn't renewed I assumed that MTV was wrapping up the franchise, but Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 and still at it. Any clue as to why Teen Mom 3 was a one and done?

Huh. I had no idea the ratings were bad for TM3. I thought all 4 girls were oddly fascinating in train wreck sort of ways. Of course it could be that none of them have much of a continuing storyline. Although, I would love to see that girl from OK get married in her own special crazy way. I think it would also be interesting to catch up with Katie, who to my knowledge is the only TM to complete a BA and is now living in SLC (I think?).

But yeah maybe without Janelle and Caitlyn's pregnancies the whole thing would have been dumped.

I can't stand Maci, she just annoys and completely bores me for some reason. At least Farrah is crazy.

 

I was pretty neutral about Maci...up until the point she pretty much forced a relationship with neanderthal Kyle and then uprooted Bentley from both sets of loving grandparents to be nearer to Kyle.

 

And, yes, I'm already booked on the fast track to hell, so I'll say it.  

 

I laughed and snorted and chortled and slapped my knee when Kyle unceremoniously dumped her ass at her apartment, mumbling something to the effect, "It's like you're in my pocket 24/7."  

 

Maci is apparently a Stage 5 clinger.

I never really liked Maci.  I liked that she seems to be a good mother to Bentley.  He's a sweet kid, but I hated how she gave Ryan such a hard time for relying on his parents for help with caring for Bentley on his weekends.  Damn, she was such a nag! It really got on my nerves too how she used to act like Ryan was still pining for her, despite the fact that he had moved on.

I'm with you on that. At first I just thought Maci came across as a nagging bitch because....well....it's Ryan. Who wouldn't nag and bitch? But she was insufferable with Kyle as well, and he came across as a pretty decent dude. I just think she's probably very high maintenance and needs her ass kissed daily. 

 

Also, I hated seeing Bentley living in what was essentially a party house when they did those specials awhile back. Priorities, Maci.

I wonder if Farrah was dropped because of some sort of conflict - having her on this show would also be promoting her sexcapades/business ventures?  I am glad, as I couldn't stand to watch that totally dysfunctional family and the way Sophia was treated.  Sadly, there is probably a strong predisposition for her to follow in her mother's footsteps.  With the passing of her father, the only father figures see seems to have are Michael, who we were lead to believe is a putz, or Farrah's porn co-stars.  Until now, I never felt that a parent's goal for their daughter would be to have her grow up to be a porn star, but if they don't provide her with some better roll models and coping skills, I could totally see her ending up in the same place.

I agree, I wonder if there is more than just the fact that nobody wanted to work with her (don't get me wrong I feel that was definitly a factor) but with all the other stuff, books/movies/sex toys... I wonder if there was going to have to be so much left out due to copyrights and legal stuff that it became pointless to film her. I don't get the impression that she's with Sofia that much between her traveling I think her dad and a nanny are the primary caretakers.

I don't thinknim gonna watch I don't really care for any of them, I'm happy Amber is getting her life together but I credit her time away from tv to that so I fear this may be setting her up to fail.

Seriously... I had no idea this show was even coming back on until I saw it on another thread. They're going to have to at least change the name to "twenty-something Moms" soon. I feel bad for the kids. What kid doesn't dread the "naked in the bathtub" photo that their Mom brings out to show their new boyfriend/girlfriend?  But in this case it's video, and lots of it.

I don't get the impression that she's with Sofia that much between her traveling.

 

Well like all toddlers she does need her space, right?

Too bad about Farrah not being included.  So many questions.  Why is she selling the house she bought with such fanfare last year, and where is Michael going to live if it ever sells? When is her Froco Greek yogurt thing going to open in Austin (October has come and gone)?  How is the stripping/research project working out, and what is she doing with the $544,000 she's supposedly earning by working two nights per week?

There are some sneak peeks of the new season here. I like the reference in the Caitlyn video to "If the magazines call," because it's reality. I hate the "reality shows" that ignore what is actually going on in the peoples' lives (i.e., that they are on a reality show and doing work around that). I'm looking forward to the fourth wall stuff, I enjoyed when they interacted with the producers on those update episodes.

 

Also, damn Amber hasn't changed.

Just watched Farrah's preview for the new season.  Girl ain't right that's for sure.  I'm going to guess that they've included her to amp up the crazy.  And I don't mean Amber, bad temper, immature crazy, I mean like CRAZY crazy.  She looks and sounds really nuts.  Not a fan of Farrah's in anyway, but I think they're exploiting someone who is clearly mentally ill and unstable.  I'm absolutely going to watch to see how this train wreck unfolds, but even the preview made me raise my eyebrows at how unhinged Farrah has become.  So freakin' creepy.  Poor Sophia.

Catelynn and Tyler look old, haggard and worn.

Maci is still a superbitch that's over and above everyone else in the world. 

I didn't bother with Amber's preview video.

Farrah still has an ugly ass cry face. Now though, her face looks so fake and bizarre.
