I don't have bread issues but it can be too filling. My exceptions are those hard rolls that you can get in the northeast and muffelatas in New Orleans. At home I can put my filling between 2 Bibb lettuce leaves, but would get major side eye if I asked for it while dining out. I have seen it offered at some burger joints, but I imagine it's messy and the burger and toppings slide out

I don't know, I don't trust portraits of Jesus.  Maybe he was obese.  After all, he was multiplying loaves everywhere he went, he probably didn't want to be wasteful.

I don't like white chocolate.  Not in cake.  Not in cookies.  Not as a candy coating.  Not in any way you could try to make me eat it.  One, it's NOT CHOCOLATE SO QUIT LYING TO PEOPLE.  Two, it just sucks.

Cutting back on the total carb intake was a big part of my change in diet, and yes, the No-Carb folks made it easier.

I am having pasta for dinner tonight. I just learned what "portion control" actually means. (It means, almost none, so stock up on the lean proteins and vegetables.)

and since we're joining theology and food I firmly believe that if Satan had a soul it was made of cauliflower. I definitely know it's what's served in hell. For some reason people keep trying to feed me cauliflower: rice, pizza... what the ever-loving duck??? No.

Flan.  I've never figured out why people LOVE this stuff.  It's wet and gushy.  Whenever I watch the episode where the Barefoot Contessa makes panna cotta in a heart shape with raspberry sauce, I always want to make it because it looks so beautiful. But I've never had panna cotta and have a suspicion that it too will be jiggly and really OTT moist.

Oh, blech--cauliflower. There is just a nasty taste to the stuff and it comes through no matter what you do with it--even deep frying it (like tempura). Ptooey!

I love roasted cauliflower, but I don't like cauliflower versions of things not normally made with cauliflower (e.g. pizza crust).  I'm not big on substitutions in general for things I really like/am totally used to, really - for example, I like turkey, but you will not find me eating a turkey burger.  When I want a burger, I want beef.  If I was eating too many of them and thus consuming too much fat, I'd eat fewer burgers, not start eating burgers made out of the "wrong" meat.

UO (apparently).  I thought I hated cauliflower my whole life until I discovered roasted cauliflower and cauliflower rice.  Love them both so much, although I don't pretend that cauliflower rice is anything like regular rice.  It just bulks up my plate with almost no calories or carbs and gives me something to put my meat and sauce on.  I love the low carb fanatics, they've upped my choices tremendously.

Now that I might try, because I don't much care for rice and hardly ever eat it, but there are some saucy dishes that really do call for it, in which case I make some brown rice.  Next time I'll try cauliflower rice instead.

I was surprised how much I like cauliflower rice, since I hate cauliflower. I'm not big on rice (it's boring) so cauliflower rice is a perfect substitute for me. Love it with curries.

I'm just the opposite, I hate egg whites. They smell funny and have a weird mouth-feel. My son is just the opposite, so when I make egg salad sandwiches or scrambled eggs, I use 3 yolks and 1 egg white for me and 3 egg whites and 1 yolk for him. Balances out rather neatly.

I also cannot stand the slimy feel of onions. I like the taste, so when cooking I either use onion powder, dice fresh onions into tiny pieces, or just quarter the onion so I can easily remove them. The only raw onions I like are red onions, diced very tiny in a gazpaucho salad.

I hate them both.  I have to laugh when sweet potatoes are offered to me as a substitute for potatoes, as if I want the potatoes the hell away from me for health reasons.  No, it's the taste, and sweet potatoes don't taste any better.

You're the reverse of me!  HATE.  POTATOES.  Okay, I'll have a little if it's mixed in with something, but otherwise, NOPE.  Sweet potatoes, on the other hand....yes, please.  Mashed, baked, roasted, fries......any which way will do.

And I am a hybrid of you both! Hate sweet potatoes. And I'll tolerate my mom's mashed potatoes. The only way I really like potatoes are two of the admittedly least healthy options: French fries or twice baked potatoes, where the sour cream, cream cheese, and bacon disguise the potato.

Otherwise? No. Not boiled. Not plain baked. No, no, no.

I once went to an Olive Garden and wanted to order the Picatta but it had sun dried tomatoes. I asked but since this is basically pre-made fast food I couldn't get it without. Bummer. Now I just don't go there.

I hate most olives too. There's a whole section at my grocery store that replaced the salad bar with an olive bar. I can't even walk past it without gagging.

Other hated foods: Mayonnaise, cilantro, liver, lamb, any organ meat, blue cheese, most hot dogs and okra.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that liver,  organ meats and okra aren't exactly unpopular dislikes.?

I loved my aunt's pickled okra, but she's long dead, so I haven't eaten okra on its own in quite some time (I'm okay with it in jambalaya the few times I eat that, but by itself I only ate it pickled, and only hers).

I'd agree on the liver and organ meat, but I grew up with fried okra, and I think most people around here like it pretty well. You can buy it from almost every vendor at the farmers market in the summer. You have to fry it right, though. I don't like it battered, just coated in cornmeal, usually done in a paper grocery bag. That's what I miss most about the paper bags at the grocery. Fried chicken should be coated in one of those. Of course, I don't make fried chicken because it's too mich work, really. I tell myself it's because I don't have those bags.

Yes to okra and mayonnaise (and okra dipped in mayonnaise), hard no to olives. Liver is generally no, unless it is a small amount in pate. 

@auntlada, do you have a Fresh Market near you? They sell cornmeal coated okra in the freezer section. I toss it with canola oil and bake it. Not as good as deep fried, but still pretty tasty.

No. We have a Walmart, a Food Pyramid and a Sprouts, which I refuse to go in because they owners helped put the last locally owned grocery store (an IGA) out of business because they wanted the location.

Or so I am firmly convinced. The land owner raised the rent suddenly and gave the IGA owner no opportunity to come up with anything. And the next thing you know, even before IGA closed, the rumor was going around that Sprouts was coming in. The IGA owner was very good in the community also. He helped any community group that asked. He worked as a bag boy in his own store. One time he saw me walking home from the store and gave me a ride. The store was old and not very big, but it had the best produce and a butcher who would advise you and cut and package stuff special for you. And it had Mexican apple soda, which I can't get anywhere else locally now.

I'm not still bitter or anything, though.

Haha, so did my dad. I will admit I loved Oscar Mayer liver sausage as a kid, but when he made kidneys, OMG!  That was literally one of the few times I felt justified in screaming at my dad since it would stink up the house for days.  Gross.  I would have to leave.

My dad used to make me eat scrapple. If you've never had it, he described it as "the floor sweepings from the slaughter house". Once I told him if he made me eat it I was going to throw up. He made me eat it anyway and I threw up straight onto my plate. He never made me eat scrapple again.

There is no part of the pig that isn’t delicious. As far as I can tell, that’s why there is beef, chicken, lamb, but no pork dog food. Nothing left to give to the dogs.

One of our favorite restaurants used to do a "mystery dinner" for Halloween. You would pick a number out of a hat and it would correspond to a four course tasting menu and then you had to write down as many ingredients as possible for the dish and try to guess as many details about the wine pairing. Whoever got the most at the table would win a bottle of wine (its how they would clean out tge wine cellar of wines that only had one or two bottles left). My boyfriend never won, I won 4 of 5 times, but he learned he loved sweetbreads and liver.

My mom and dad just sort of served up all sorts of stuff, so I never really spent a lot of time thinking about what anything actually was. I just made my judgement on whether or not I liked something based on taste. Now that I'm a grown up, I do a lot more judging books by their covers.

And I love both; they're probably my two most-frequent veggie sides. 

And not everyone gets the urine smell side effect from eating asparagus.  Or at least not everyone can smell it; scientists are divided on whether everyone's bodies produce it but some people just can't smell it, some people simply don't produce it to begin with, or a combination of the two as the reason why not everyone notes the side effect.  (I don't, but I used to.  So go figure.)

Frittata.

I hate browned egg anything. That frilly lace around a fried egg. NO! The brown on an omelette. NO! When I see a frittata all I see is a wedge of dried out, over cooked egg that's crusty brown all over.  Just give me scrambled eggs with whatever is in the frittata or omlette. Then I'll be happy...as long as it isn't overcooked.

NO BROWN!

And I better not smell over cooked egg either!

But I generally like quiche... go figure. I just don't eat the browned egg part.
