Obviously, I would make a lousy PR person for Gia!  Clearly, her video is a play for pity, sung by a girl who can't sing, and furthermore, she wears a tight sweater which dips too low into the danger zone.  Both Gia and her mother should be mortified for putting out such a dismal project, such a downer, and while we're on the subject, she looks like her father.  The whole video looks like an audition for Amateur Hour!  :)  :)  :)   Is that better?  lol

Does anyone know if it's possible to make any money with these online videos?

I was wondering the same thing AnnA. We know the girls had to pay someone to produce the video and it's free on YouTube. They put it on YouTube along with all their videos.

Personally it appears to be parents indulging their children's hobby.

This goes beyond "indulging" IMO. It smacks of exploitation to me, done to keep her mother front and center so that Bravo/Andy and the viewers do not forget her while she is in prison and until she is able to film again. It is a ploy for sympathy! If someone critiques Gia's singing/song they are accused of "attacking" a poor child who's mother was ripped from her home and put in prison leaving her 4 beautiful daughters in the care of their drunk father, who got their mother sent to prison in the first place. If they attack Teresa/Joe for allowing Gia to do this, they are accused of stealing what little fun/enjoyment/dreams this poor, poor child has left because her parents are going to/are in prison. AND it is a ploy to get Gia a show, her own show that features her family, meaning Teresa first and foremost!

I believe the first few videos were pure indulgences on behalf of the 6 parents and whoever else funded them. Were they expecting a spin-off show or a wind fall coming their way...good luck with that?

The new "Just 13" video is a defiant song written by Gia and her teacher to counteract/respond to the negativity Gia is feeling from her contemporaries. Kids are so good at being mean to each other...especially in high school. I can only imagine what kind of comments Gia is getting as she exposes herself on Twitter, FB and Instagram with this video.

The latest video might make her feel better temporarily but it will give her critics weeks, if not months of pleasure by using every word against her.

Her parents critics will no doubt see the video as a reaffirmation of their well justified criticism of Teresa and Juicy's sketchy parenting skills. Though Teresa's fans will feel sorry for a teenager defending and missing her mom.

Writing the song could be considered therapeutic . Putting it out there, not so much. Is the teacher that helped her write it a teacher at her school? Is it a teacher/guidance counselor or what?

ETA: disregard I should have looked it up first!! It was her voice teacher.

I am wondering just how does this voice teacher get paid?  This is really a cheesy move.

In elementary school my son's music teacher came to my home to give him piano lessons. I paid her for every lesson, it had nothing to do with the school. Children were not taught how to play piano in school. In school he was given violin lessons as part of the curriculum.

I'm guessing Gia's teacher may have either volunteered her services if it's just one song or she may be getting paid as a voice coach for the three girls in the group.

No doubt, from the words of the song, the teacher is sympathetic toward Gia's suffering about her parents going to jail.

If Gia is getting nasty comments made directly to her via twitter or FB, then make those "Private"! Gia has been on twitter for several years now and it is open to any and all to read and tweet comments to her and that is dangerous! There is no parental supervision at all for Gia and it has been that way for a long time IMO.

ITA WW, I've also felt there was a role reversal with Gia taking over the mother part and Ter acting like the kid. Like the time she grabbed the phone from her mom, in the store, to respond to her mother's text message.

How about if Gia stays off Facebook and Twitter, stops "starring" in music videos, giving interviews?  I guarantee you by 4th of July no one would even remember Teresa's kids' names.

The song and vidoe were OK.

The problem is that SHE IS JUST 13 and putting a private video like that out there for the world to see is inappropriate. Its exploiting Gia's pain.

It was very sad. Not for the adults because Teresa and Joe made their choices. But it is heartbreaking for the Giudice children and all the children out there who have parents who have made such bad choices with terrible consequences for the children.

Too bad she can get any baked goods cuz I'd pay good money to keep em flowing everyday. I haven't watched the Gia update yet because I injured my damn eyeballs. This effed up family...

How did you injure your eyeballs? Ouch!

Somebody was saying Gia is giving interviews. FSS who is low enough to interview a 14 year old about visiting her mother in prison while all pimping the kid's new video?

Zoeysmom, what is FSS? Just when I think I have all of these damn initials down, I see a new one. I must be weird because I think I'm the only person who types whole words these days. Lol.

Its possible to make money through youtube video through advertising. Most popular clips make $10/year. Some people have real careers producing videos.

$10 a year?   That won't even keep Gia in lip gloss.

Sinead oconnor was the first to do the video with only a face close up. Gia is no Sinead. She's also no Miley, who also copied Sinead.

sinead and Miley have great voices and are beautiful, especially Sinead. Gia, not so much. She's an ordinary looking teen who likes to sing. No real talent, only a mom famous for being a convict.

When I first tried reading here my eyes were strained and I had headaches...and it certainly wasn't from everyone's funny, thought provoking and interesting comments. It was the bright white background. I had to bring the white down on my iPad...now it's better. I belong to another forum with pale color backgrounds and I had no problems. So I know your eyes can actually get hurt from reading.

I believe in another few weeks no one will remember Gia's video about her parents. Teresa and Joe broke the law and are doing the time. The four girls are collateral damage...unfortunately they will be doing time also. Their loser parents believed stealing other people's money and living the high life was more important than the welfare of their kids.

Right now the girls are living with their dad, an admitted alcoholic (on TV) which is a mental disease with physical consequences. Should this guy be the guardian of the children...no way? I'm not surprised that this video was released under his watch. May God watch out for those children living under his care and I hope other family members are keeping watch.

I don't know what I think about that video.  It accomplished it's goal by making me feel sad for Gia.  Followed by disgust for her parents.

Followed by instant distraction when her band mate appeared from the abyss and sang, "Do you know, what I'm going through..."  That sounded like a total riff on Diana Ross', Theme From Mahogany.  Someone should tell Gia's voice coach that the family can't afford another lawsuit.  Copyright infringement is real. ;-)

I agree with this completely. Maybe I'm a terrible person because I'm not even rooting for Gia to succeed with her music. Maybe I'm overly influenced by negative feelings about her family and the whole "I get paid because I'm famous" thing. But imo she doesn't have talent and is only getting attention because her equally untalented parents got lucky to be generously paid to be on a "reality"  television show.  If she were "Gia Smith" she just be one of thousands of teenage girls on YouTube with average voices and musical tastes who want to be rich and famous. Personally, I hope it doesn't happen and that she eventually decides to "answer her critics" by concentrating on schoolwork and the hobbies she likes (including singing) without the family's "delusions of grandeur". As for the teacher, I question her motives (as in, "helping Gia"? or "maybe getting some attention and YouTube money for myself and the song"?)

I have a friend who does debt collection work.   She just said she levied on a prisoner's wages and commisary account.    Now I want all of Theresa's creditors to get judgments and do the same thing.    That way she won't have $320 a week to spend in the commiserary because it is all going to pay back the people she stole from.

And any of the Theresa fans who think she was screwed over and may put money in her account, well that money will go to pay back the creditors too.   JUSTICE indeed.

A few pages back I posted a link to a piece about Teresa's commisary account. It's not $320 a week - it's actually $160 every two weeks which is almost exactly $320 per month.

Regardless, I hope someone garnishes it.

Gia's interview on E!.

"Like.....amazing....like....amazing....like....amazing....like....amazing....Like."

I know she's a kid. But did we talk like that back when? Didn't we try to use real descriptive words instead of leaning on repetitive crutch words to express ourselves?

Is it time for Gia to go away yet?  I don't mean go away in the Giudice family tradition just drop off our collective sights.  I don't think hearing about mom doing amazing and how her mother is like a sister to her (how sad is that) is really earth shattering.

I'd like to think we did. Of course the ability to use real descriptive words implies knowledge of the English language and rules of grammar. That requires concentrating on school and actually learning those things. That's hard to do when your parents are illiterate famewhores who emphasize heavy makeup and tacky clothes. Edited by AnnA

In some fairness to Gia, (from my own critical post above)...

I have had it with the contemporary over usage of the words " amazing" and "like". I hear many young adults, in real life and on TV,  way, way over the age of 13, abuse this same speech pattern too. Drives me nuts.

Thank dog, she doesn't also have the contemporary "vocal fry" (see Kardashian girl, or Scheana on Vanderpump Rules ) to add to it as well. I'd blow a gasket.

if Joe is deported, how will he make a living in Italy?

How is he making one here in the US??

Seriously, though, I imagine that Joe could probably do general handyman work…or open another pizza parlor and then close it when he can't keep up with the lunch rush.

The deporting thing seems heavy-handed to me and I wonder if that will happen. What Teresa will do once Joe's in prison is anyone's guess. I'm sure she'll have a period where she'll be in demand on talk shows, the tabloids, etc. but that will eventually peter out. I always thought that Joe would have been happier with a simpler, low-key life, but I don't see Teresa adapting that easily. I can see her living with her parents but beyond that, I'm drawing a blank. I don't know how many more Italian cookbooks she has in her bag of tricks, and it doesn't seem like Fabellini and Milania hair care were successful.

I hate to say it, but Teresa fascinates me in an odd way, and for the same reasons why she disgusts me - she seems so un-self aware and lacking in emotional intelligence. It'll be interesting to see if she comes back from "being away" humbled and more reflective…or if she roars back into the limelight with her extensions, fake eyelashes, and "I'm just ditsy" shtick.

Joe and Teresa have totally messed up their family. Even when all this prison is done, if Joe is deported, how will he male a living in Italy? When the fame nds how will Tre support her kids?

I still believe Bravo will take her back, and with Joe in prison, I see a spinoff in her future.

Not saying they should do that, but I think they will. She's not going to prison for a lengthy period where people will forget about her, and there will be some publicity and interest when she is released and it's Joe's turn.  I believe Bravo will try to capitalize on that.

From there...maybe another cookbook, or maybe a book about her life (remember Caroline's "prophecy" ) and since Melissa Gorga was able to "write" a book, I feel sure Teresa could too.

The deportation is another story - because at that point, it's decision time: Does she go with him or stay here with the girls? I see her staying here, ending marriage and continuing on her merry way.

I hope it is a spin off and Teresa is not forced down the throats of whatever cast they cobble together for RHONJ.  If it involves Manzos and Lauritas I hope they use their power to just say NO.  Although NY and NJ ratings have been tanking this past season Atlanta and BH have been soaring,  Time to look at what has gotten old and move on.

If Teresa and Joe could make it through her incarceration, followed by his (that's a LONG time), I think it would be remarkable if they managed to keep that marriage together after years and years alone to think about it.  I have to think that Teresa needs a man in her life.  She's still young and desirable, and as much as the children mean to her, so does having a man, especially one who is a better man than Joe is.

As sure as I think that, however, when I flip the coin and look at the other side, I can see Teresa staying with Joe through thick and thin, because  of the children.  She may feel that she and Joe have done enough to the kids and the kids need the old stability they used to have before all the trouble began.  By the time Joe gets out of prison, Gia will be almost 20, and the parents will be entering their 50s.  So much can happen during those years.  Will Joe necessarily be sent to a prison nearby?  I don't think he has a choice, but I'd think the Bureau of Prisons would take his family into consideration if possible.  If they can't see each other often, that will cause even more problems.  Time changes things, and so much time will have gone by, that it's nearly impossible to forecast what will happen, I think.

One more thing:  I don't see Joe as a man who will change once his sentence has been completed.  We've seen how he acts when he's been in trouble.  He just goes on getting into more trouble.  If he learns anything in prison, it will probably be new ways of breaking the law.  I can imagine him living the rest of his life violating the law.  Would Teresa have it in her to go through that again, or would she even want to?  I don't know, but I doubt it.

I am not convinced 1 bit that Teresa has learned her lesson at this point either, she has thumbed her nose at the courts as well IMO. It may not have been as much or as obvious as Joe did but she did it none the less.

While I do believe that Joe is lazy and doesn't have a problem with shady deals, I don't think he's as greedy as Teresa. She likes to make a big splash and goes over the top on everything. I think Joe can and will be able to live a modest lifestyle.

I remember reading somewhere??? that when Joe completes his stint at Club Fed, he won't actually be released. He'll be moved to and held at an immigration facility until a decision is made on whether or not he will be deported.
