This guy is a saint! An enabling doormat, but still a saint. I couldn't help but think he looked very handsome sitting there while listening to the crazy that is his wife. I would love to see him leave her and end up with a beautiful, younger, sweeter woman that his kids like a lot.

Regarding Shannon and her carefully placed settlement check. I don't think 1.4 million is much for a couple like Shannon and David. I thought they had so much money, didn't they sell their Newport home for 12 million? I don't know what they owed on it but I'm sure they made a nice profit. I think David made out on that divorce. He had a great lawyer. He probably hid his money. He has a very successful business. Kelly is right, 1.4 mil isn't going to last long in the world they live in and after almost 20 yrs. of marriage I thought there would be more of a settlement. Shannon got screwed.

Shannon did not get screwed -- the genders are treated equally by the court.  The check represents Shannon's share of community property that she hasn't already received.  Shannon is able bodied and currently gainfully employed at a fairly high paying job.  She is capable of supporting herself and contributing her half to supporting their kids.  That's the criteria these days.  He's only on the hook for half of the support of their daughters as well.  Probably through college, but after that, Shannon won't be getting any more money from their father.

I'm not sure if they even tested kids for learning disorders in those days.  He seems to be around my age and the little kids in my school that had problems reading were just labeled slow or worse, dumb.   Generally, in my generation (grew up in the 70s) those kind of disorders were recognized much later - after the fact and sadly after the damage.      So if the brother was dyslexic it was probably something diagnosed much later but being beaten for "being possessed" was already done.

Like I said before, the brother lends credibility to Elizabeth's story.   I read a local article about him being on the show (we live in the same state) and he sounds like a regular guy who cares about his sister.   She asked him to come because the show likes to have family members (like kids or husbands) included.

My husband is 52 and was diagnosed at 7.

Re:  Dyslexia.  I have a friend who is 60, who was held back in first grade in 1966 due to dyslexia.  Said he saw the numbers backwards, and they sent him to a specialist who spent a year doing treatments with him.  Stuff like throwing a ball to him, telling him to catch it with his left hand, but he'd catch with his right.  Then repeating, the other hand, and he'd catch with the opposite hand.  It was a lot of how he was viewing the ball, not that he was doing anything wrong.  He said that in that year of first grade repeat with his therapy, he finally started just "seeing" the letters correctly.  Ended up getting a Master's in Economics...a few years later.  🙂

So I do believe Elizabeth's brother's story about having had dyslexia.

I believe Elizabeth completely.  I have a feeling it's much worse than even she can recall.

That just sounds like a bunch of trending buzz-words strung together, much like most of what comes out of Braunwyn's mouth.

Right.  She gets $10K a month on top of it for another 10 years.  Yes, $120K may not go far in Orange County, but she's got her RHO salary on top of that.  I'm not going to cry for her.

They no longer have the "sex apartment", so they were probably renting that.  They are renting their house.

This looks like a bunch of smoke & mirrors to me, folks.  When they first came on, we were all supposed to adore this beautiful big family, this supermom of 7 kids who kept herself in perfect shape; this super handsome guy (at least I think so) who is not only the doting husband, but the very successful businessman.

So.....it's 7 kids who are being raised by a nanny (multiple?), by a mom who doesn't even know how to turn on her own washing machine, by a mom who unapologetically moves her "wife" into the home, by a husband who can't seem to stand up for himself when his wife belittles and talks over him.  By a mom who's admittedly alcoholic, who hasn't gotten help until the 7th kid was at least a year old or so.

This is the "episode thread", so I won't post any current stuff, but we can see the crumbling from the past few episodes, and it would suprise me not at all if their financial "happy picture" crumbled as well.

I'm enjoying Kelly with her "BAM!  In yo face!!" after seeing Shannon's $1.4 mil check lying on the credenza.  Also, seeing how Jolie is turning out (high grades, is able to express herself without "like" and "um" every other word) speaks well of Kelly's mothering regardless of her faulty personality.  Kelly has a right to be proud of herself there.

So I’m not trying to defend John. I am HIGHLY suspicious of the guy and think he gives off a weird vibe. I’m about 99% sure he’s with Shannon for money and/or fame. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if one of his kids wanted to be an actor or if John is actually broke or any number of shenanigans.
However! However, there are a couple of ways to tell the story of John at the golf course and I think dry drunk Brauwyn who is desperate to claim everyone else an alcoholic chose one. There’s the way she told the story which is:

John got wasted! In the middle of the day! He couldn’t even drive! The scandal! He needs help! He👏Is👏An👏Alcoholic 👏

There is also this way:

John was out in the hot summer Californian sun and realized the drinks he’d had with friends were hitting him harder than he expected so he called for a ride home. Isn't John responsible.

Im not saying which one is right or wrong. I’m just saying once you strip away the tone of the storytelling “Man decides not to drive home after having a few with his golf buddies” isn’t on the facts that big a deal.

Completely agree!

I, too, have a weird feeling about John.  Handsome, professional, great kids....why would he be with Shannon?  There have got to be so many women who are not only cuter, but don't have that shrieking, shrill, hypochondriac thing going on.

But....I, too, wondered the full story behind the "drunk golf course" incident.  Was he belligerent, was he a danger?  Or perhaps had he had one too many, and simply needed a ride home?

Heck, I left my car at a Tex-Mex restaurant once after too many margaritas and called someone to drive me home (pre-Uber).  And I've called Uber and left my car. These days, I just. Uber.

What is wrong with Sean allowing his wife to move her whore in their home? And where is this woman’s son?
Then Brownass and her slut have the gall to badmouth Sean for picking the wrong flavor cake? You know he paid for that party since Brownshit needs 24/7 pats on the back for not chugging alcohol.
I hope this awful woman is done after this season. The Brownwind show sucks!

Riiiight???!!!

Um, Sean...... the word "No" is a complete sentence.

And yes, with the cake....Braunwyn is trying to find any thing, any little reason, to say that Sean doesn't "know" her.  Oh, but her "wife" knows her sooooo much better.

GTFO Braunwyn.  Someone buys you a cake, and you say....."Thank you".

I don’t even think she does hate Red Velvet. I’m bet her girlfriend does or the girlfriend is a “it’s just chocolate with food coloring” truther. Man, I’m starting to see why people doubt Brauwyn’s alcoholic story. She is the most manipulative person I’ve ever seen on a Bravo show. You heard me! The worst on Bravo!

I believe Elizabeth too - but I do think she has become so used to pushing things down, putting a smile on her face and generally lying about other things that she has an affectation that registers as false or as hiding more than meets the eye.

But again, this is another example of Brauny's inability to keep her stories straight. She even said in this episode that her friend doesn't live with them, that she has own home and a son to take care of. So does the friend just visit when she has nothing else to do? But didn't Brauny also say that the friend makes her own money and takes care of herself? So when exactly does she do this? Between "moving" herself into Brauny's house-but not really as she has her own - and looking after her son and her own house? Brauny's friends must be as thirsty as she is to be a part of her ever changing storyline.

What happens after the 10 years? Shannon would be 65. How will her social security work? Hopefully her dumb ass realizes she needs to use the settlement for retirement.

Well, I sure hope so. But she’s a RH so financial acumen may not be a strong suit. (I still think she has some kind of trust fund, but maybe not...)

One thing about that coat Shannon was trying to pawn off on Sophie that shows what a complete rube she is - when Sophie said she didn't like it, Shannon responded, "but it cost $1500/2000!"  Um, so what?  She didn't like it.  Wouldn't it have been weird if she suddenly liked it because it was expensive?  Wouldn't that be incredibly shallow?  I have an ex like this - he was asking me if I liked a jacket (what a coincidence actually!), and I said I didn't, and he said, "but it's X brand!"  OH!  There's a fancy label on the inside??  Well, that definitely affects how I feel about the outside.  It's especially goofy because half of "designer labels" are just branding anyway and not even "designed".

ESPECIALLY SUNGLASSES! I'm on a one woman crusade to fight overpriced glasses.  I promise I am NOT a conspiracy junkie, but it's true that almost ALL glasses, ALL OF THEM, are made by one company.  So even if you love designer labels, please eschew designer sunglasses.  They were made at the same manufacturer as my cheapos and then they just stuck a Chanel label on them, and Chanel put them in their stores for outrageous prices.  It's a scam, I tell you!

Actually, I was wondeing if something isn't medically wrong with Archie. The way he was standing in the Jacuzzi was not normal. Maybe arthritis or something else but if it was my dog I'd get him checked out.

I did laugh at Kelly when she said to Archie, "aren't you hot?" like he would answer her.  😄

Having put three kids through college I can honestly say Shannon is the worst kind of velcro parent I've ever seen. The "organic" headboards???? WTF does that even mean??? OMG...and one for the roommate??? And bed skirts??? She's not just a velcro parent, she's controlling and suffocates her kids with it. Buying her daughter some dowdy jacket that no one under the age of 40 would wear was the icing on the cake. Fly Sophie fly!!!! and never come back! Your mother is wacka doodle!

Defending Shannon - my mom is not a velcro parent, and she had headboards and bed skirts made for me and my college roommate because the beds were a weird size and we wanted to match.  I think it's nice!

YES!  I am with you on this.  I have some really expensive glasses and they suck.  They sit too close to my eyes, they fog up, etc. I finally started buying my sunglasses in the "junior" section at nordstrom for like $12 and they are awesome.  And I do not care if I lose them, or break them.  And they are much cuter than the $$$ ones.

I think if I had done that for my daughter I would have been met with "Mom are you serious?" And forget my sons....that would have been a no go from the start. What I think is nice is letting 18 year olds make their own decisions on how they decorate their dorm rooms and what kind of bedding they want...but I guess I'm old fashioned.

The part that bothers me is the roommate. It’s pretty presumptuous on Shannon’s part. The roommate may have had her own dream dorm that didn’t involve Shannon’s taste.I hope she at least asked the roommate first.

I did have a say, my roommate and I picked out the colors.  The beds in our dorm didn't have headboards.  I think it was a nice thing for my mom to do.

Shannon is just trying to make her daughter's dorm room nice.  I think it is a good thing.

I want to know what the dorms are like at Baylor that there's room for 2 Giant headboards,...and bed skirts? I commuted to college, so most of my dorm experience was from visiting friends at school; I don't recall EVER seeing headboards or bedskirts. And one for the roomate?

Long gone are the days of the simple routine of parent dropping off the kid with nothing but a suitcase.  My kids have graduated from college, and I noticed each year the dorm room decor became more and more of a focus. Headboards, coordinating comforters, one brings this and the other brings that...They learn who their roommate is ahead of time.  Then they plot out the room layout.  It’s over the top.  Even my son’s roommates had their moms doing this too. I don’t know if you watch Atlanta, but they brought a UHaul with a suburban to take her daughter to NYU.

As one of those kids who got dropped off with a couple suitcases and some bedding (not sure if it was even new) I think it's kind of cool.

I met my roommate the day I moved in too.    Of course in those days my situation was the norm; seems like today custom decorated dorm rooms are the standard and you wouldn't want your kid to be the exception.  I like the idea of having the summer to get to know your future roomie too.  I had some doozies but also I met my best friend to this day as my roommate sophomore year.

I am half assed watching this again since it’s on and nothing else is. I’m going to say it, I like Elizabeth putting her food labels on the bowls then you know what’s in it. I also think Jimmy is kinda of cute and he’s super tall, I like tall! He does look like a giant toddler, but I can look past a lot for a really tall guy. (I a m 5’10-so it’s hard to find a guy a LOT taller than me.)

I have to mute BW and her fake friends. Especially the dark haired one who sits there with her mouth open the entire time, what is she’s trying to catch that fly hovering around?
