It makes no sense!  I know soaps are kind of imprecise about character's ages sometimes, but Dante has always been positioned as about a decade older than Brook Lynn.  So what were he and Cody doing at a summer camp in their late 20s with teenage Brook Lynn?

Time to do some soap math again.

Dante was conceived when Sonny was in his late teens/early 20s.

Sonny came to Port Charles in his 20s/early 30s. Lois and Lily were pregnant at the same, so the only child that was close in age with BLQ would have been Sonny's & Lily's child or Michael who was born a couple of years later. Dante is way older than them,

My favorite characters are involved in this silly custody battle. Sonny and Carly's past is coming back to haunt them. Jason went against Sonny and Carly in favor of Monica (with a good chunk of guilt from Tracy). Tracy is taking a stand for Monica but she brings the same smug entitlement that she did when she stole Deception from Lucy.

At least BLQ didn't lie to Dr Navarro.

As much as I cannot stand Drew, he is still Scout's dad and Alexis has no leg to stand on in going after Drew for custody.

What exactly is wrong with Kai? If it's only a dislocated shoulder, he doesn't need to be in the hospital overnight.

I laughed at that.  Geting an MRI is an outpatient service, but this diva had to stay in the hospital overnight for a shoulder injury?

Carly leaving the Q mansion was super enjoyable, even if this storyline is absolute nonsense.  Tracy saying she's "only doing what the order says" but I don't think the Q mansion was given custody of those kids.

It's much more appropriately aimed at Sonny and Carly, though.

She is Scout's grandmother, and who will take care of Scout in DC while he's off congresspersoning? To be sure, I don't think Alexis would win custody, but the threat of it might make Drew stop and think about what's best for his daughter instead of what's best for his ambition, his penis, and his ambition for his penis.

Carly walks into the Quartermaine house claiming the kids belong with their mother? Huh, Carly and Diane foaming at the mouth is why they were taken in first place.

Carly acts like she and Sonny have more reach and  connections than Qs or heiress Nina.

I loved Tracy going after Carly after she brought up Monica. I feel like the show had an idea on timing of possibly LC passing because the timing is all too coincidental.

The Tracy/Carly scenes were amazing. I loved that Tracy pointed out that Willow would never deny Michael any treatment that might help him. I also loved that Tracy raked Carly over the coals for her treatment of Monica over the years. It was good to see Carly get a small taste of her own medicine from someone completely unimpressed and unintimidated by her.

As ridiculous as the story is, Tracy ripping Cujo a new one was Chef’s 💋 Tracy was the only one who could rake Cujo over the coals and so sublime that neither Mooby or Cujo could sneer and snarl their smugurry! It’s been a looong time coming and I was cackling all the way. Even though it won’t last.

Uh... isn't that technically rape if Brooke Lynn is under 18 (Which most camp kids are)?

If they weren't throwing Emma at Gio I would love a swerve that Cody is actually the father. Dante does not need that nonsense.

That would be awesome. Cody, who has the emotional maturity of a 15 year old, tries to parent a college student. Also #SaveDante

It might work since Drew is now a public figure and will be looking for reeclection. Granted it hasn't worked on some real life Congressmen but I live in hope.

so what happened with the Tracy & Carly smackdown?

Excerpt from my post earlier today:

I laughed when Tracy told Carly she can't go see Monica because Yuri's guarding the door and the kids are off-limits, doing homework and enrichment activities. LOL.  Carly crying, telling Tracy she's really something else, and leaving alone in a huff was funny.

Willow: has insight about the pattern she keeps repeating with men

Chase: tells her that she's wrong and gives his opinion

Willow: Okay, sir, you're right

I'm so torn about the Tracy/Carly argument. On the one hand, Tracy has no business keeping those kids from Willow. On the other hand, I got to watch Carly huff and puff and then leave with her tail between her legs. I'm simultaneously team no one and team Tracy.

Here's what I thought should have happened on Wednesday after the emotional scene where Tracy pleaded with Jason to choose Monica and his family for once. He says he'll go and ask Monica if she's okay with the kids going to their mother. He goes upstairs, knocks gently on the door, and cautiously pushes it open. We see a zoom in on his shocked face. He comes back down and announces to Tracy that Monica is dead. The hugs and tears follow from that.

Ideally, this shock reverses his brain damage so that he reverts to Jason Q, with no memory of anything that happened since his accident. But that's too radical, of course, and it would just be a terrible bummer if it happened after Monica died, so that she got no warm fuzzies from it.

But the added benefit of his discovery is that then the children could go back to Willow and end this nonsensical plot thread. But I see from Thursday's episode that this thread is what the show is now ABOUT, so no.

Of course this week's episodes were filmed before LC died, so it would have taken a tremendous coincidence for them to do Monica's death so soon after real life happened. It would have been good for immediate expression of emotion on screen and among us, though.

Doesn't Sonny have atrial fibrillation? It's news to me that you get a painful attack of that and take pills for it. The two times I had a.fib. I had to lie around in the hospital till my heart decided to calm down and get back to normal rhythm. I'd like those pills next time, please.

No, Brook Lynn and Dante are much closer in age, with Dante being just a few years older maybe.  It's not much of a stretch that they could have all been in summer camp together as teenagers.

Katelyn MacMullen is doing very good work these last few weeks. All these late in the day deconstructions of Willow's character they've done recently in various scenes are very much trying to rebuild things after their rushed and half-assed execution of this storyline, but at the same time the motives and explanations do make sense. I just wish the dialogue was as smart as it was last spring.

It does remind me a lot of what happened to Barbara Ryan on ATWT when Doug Marland came aboard - she went from put-upon heroine to bad news virtually overnight. Willow isn't quite there yet but she is being portrayed as the clueless naif in the clutches of the heavy, and when push comes to shove she often veers towards breaking bad. The setup is Right There for them to do this, same as Barbara did - Willow finds out Drew slept with her mother and she gave everything up for nothing, then turns full vindictive bitch on everyone. It can work. And should be done. She should do what Barbara did, too - seduce Chase again because she can, to fuck with the Qs. It would also be an easy way to get boring Chase off the show.

Jane and Laura did very good work together today as well. I would force Carly and Tracy into business together somehow for that reason. We could watch them clash 2-3 times a week. As for the custody imbroglio - no, Tracy should sensibly have no rights to Willow's children. Do I care? Not in the slightest, it's something the Qs would do anyway BITD to flex on their enemies and it's good, messy soap for them all to stab each other in the backs and Jane and Steve were great together. Tracy could easily go in on the cult angle with Willow's fucked-up background (and brainwashing in Drew's) to try to paint her as unfit and mock up some sort of defense with the Qs' legion of high-priced lawyers for her swerve with the kids. This stuff can be written. What I don't quite get is why Tracy and co. in the Qs all suddenly hate Drew so much too, but I guess it's the Michael thing. Tracy and Michael did get closer in the 2010s, along with Michael and Ned at times.

Should Nina make Gio her boytoy? I'm just asking questions! Watros would be very funny with him, but Ava once again falling for a barely legal twunk and two-timing Ric with him would be equally so. (ofc if I had my way Gio would be casually bi and sleep with both one of the women and an unsuspecting and mildly mortified Lucas.) Cody with Nina would also work. I would absolutely undo this whole Dante/BLQ child thing as a sad mix-up - they don't need an adult kid to age them up.

As others have said: How is Alexis going to fight Scout's sole remaining biological parent, a Congressman in good standing, for custody? How, Alexis? Her only recourse would be to go full Cassadine and play dirty, and then it could be done but they don't do that with her (and they should). Anyway this is all just clearly setup for Drew getting got and probably a whodunit in February so that's merely an academic question.

I guess I'm in the minority because I really like the new Emma and I think she'd make the better WSB recruit.

I agree, she's pretty good. I couldn't care less about her suddenly being mischievous. The little girl previously in the role had maybe one gear and Emma being a clone of her mother would be very boring to me. Making Robin's daughter of all people a hellraiser is far more interesting. The problem is pairing her with Gio, and I like Gio. But nobody is here for an all-new Emma and rando Gio together just because she happens to be available and notably not Trina.

I don't need her to be WSB. I wouldn't hate Joss doing that actually (or even going into the PCPD and scandalizing her mother), but I am fine with Joss in less story. I think Eden has a couple speeds and a couple things she's good at but she can't carry frontburner story. They've tried many times.

As I have said repeatedly, I am down for Dark Willow. I like the Barara Ryan angle @jsbt. Though I am more familiar with the BarBarQ era. (Let her chase Carly with some giant scissors)

I don't need Gio tied to the canvas. If BLQ gave up a baby, let that baby stay far away with their adoptive parents. As an adoptee myself I get real sick of the trope where adoptees forget about their parents and start calling bio parents mom and dad. But Gio reads too baby faced for Nina or Ava to me. I'd rather an amnesiac Morgan recast for that.

I also agree on Emma. Not yet sold on the actress but she should be a troublemaker. Her parents are heroes so she should rebel and all of Robin's disappearances would mess with her head. Let her get close to Carly to really sell it.

I can't tell if we're headed for a whodunnit with Drew or if he's just going to be the new town pariah. Not really excited about Cam being fired after what happened to him in real life.  But there would certainly be a lot of suspects.

GH must have been is very close contact with LC family of her health status because they have mentioned Monica and her health in the last week than since the last time she aired. I’m not sure they planned on having it air the exact day her death was announced. There were a few preemptions beforehand but it’s very, very close. I guess Monica’s passing won’t actually be addressed on air for another 2 months or so. I’m curious if they would bring back Denise Alexander. She herself is older (85) so that might be a challenge. Tracy is the only one from the old guard who is still alive and was apart of the Monica era (not including Francis, Shriner and Lynn Herring). I’m guessing Monica’s passing will be from Tracy’s and Jason’s POV.

I totally agree about the Dante, Brook Lynn and Cody timeline. So dumb.

Oh please God no lol.

I do fully expect them to kill or at least shoot Drew soon, and possibly turn him into a full psycho or attempted rapist before he goes if they do off him. This show has no appetite for more organic heavies or schemers outside of goofy, embarrassing villains like Cyrus or Sidwell.

I wouldn't mind Drew continuing as a baddie, but the shame of it as I've said so often is he didn't have to become a full villain if he'd stayed on the much more nuanced trajectory Patrick Mulcahey had him on in the spring - he was a fun, roguish cad with Nina and also getting closer to Willow, but the tone and focus of the story was different, more about Nina getting back in touch with herself/gaining Drew's respect professionally and personally, as well as him being a boor in need of some humbling as the Willow thing got going. He was still at core not a bad man, just an arrogant one. Now it's a much simpler tale that's just about Drew the pervy Svengali taking over Willow's life, and I can rock with that to a point but I do think they're just going to ice him. Which could be a good story, but he could do more.

Anyway, Cynthia Watros' reactions to Drew are consistently hilarious. Everyone in that circle is playing it to the hilt (except Mo).

And I’m sure I’m late to the table with this, but it always astonishes me how everybody is just always able to come right up to the front door at the Q mansion. Ms Wu needed assistance to get back from her car because “the grounds are so expansive” . I kind of think there’d be after all these years at least a gate with a guard or something people would have to be approved and buzzed in if we’re talking about such an expansive setup.
Just a little detail that annoys me! 🙃

Alexis and her wardrobe, always kind of felt like an afterthought to me. I think on some level that vibe comes directly from NLG. 🫤
