Culture Check: How can we discuss a character's or actor's appearance without objectifying them? How can we express likes or dislikes and still respect an individual's humanity or be mindful that a character represents a person someone else might relate to or identify with?

Agreed. But Jasus pretending to slap Ric was such a punk/bitch move. In the end, it looked like he was either trying to straighten Ric's tie, caress his face, or was having some sort of spasm.

And apparently they are now a Division One school where their QB Kai just might maybe a future NFL draft pick.

Not going to lie, I love the Sonny and Lucky scenes. I have happy memories when Sonny when camping with Luke and preteen Lucky.

The scene with Ric and Jason? Chef kiss. That is a scene rooted in their history and hatred of each other. I am sure they both remembered when Jason beat the crap out of Ric in the garage.

Drew never got back his memories including all his experience as a Navy SEAL. He still has Jason's memories but he still lost out to original Jason.

I figured.  But there's still muscle memory borne of years of training and application.

OK, so she followed it up with running over to the Q mansion to try to fix things for Jason, but did I actually see her, before that, telling Jason he was wrong (for fighting Drew when the kids were upstairs right after their mother died)?  I didn't realize Carly was allowed to disagree with St. Jasus. 

Felicia, I get that you just want to see everyone be a happy family and all, but maybe give Sasha and Cody a few minutes to adjust to the rather unpleasant surprise of being cousins before you start trying to push everyone into weekly family dinners, or whatever? 

Please, show, don't stick Isiah with Jordan. He's had more chemistry with damn near everyone else he's shared screen time with. They seemed like they might have some chemistry in their initial scenes, when we hadn't really had a chance to see him with others. But now that he's been interacting with other people, the difference is obvious. 

Speaking of chemistry, Mo and Eva are trying their asses off.  You can literally see them trying. But it's just not there. 

The Sonny/Lucky discussion about Lucky's job brought to mind what I want to see happen - him and Jason working at the PC WSB office with Brennan. 

I don't know if I'll ever like Ric again, but RH is so good. He and SBu were both good portraying how much Jason and Ric hate each other.

Jordan should've been gone long ago. I'd rather see Isaiah with Lucas, even though I think VH's performances are all over the shop. Woof.

Ric and Ava would be fun if it got serious and they had real leverage over the town, but at present it feels like a time waster to park Ava somewhere yet again. Give Ric some real power in town again and then I'll get out of bed for it.

Kristina cozying up to Future Trump Appointee Natalia, the woman who spewed bigotry about her and her ex-girlfriend while contributing to the disintegration of their relationship, is insane to me. But typical of this show's mentality, which is focused on simply FV relentlessly justifying his latest big hire until the next one comes along.

Tanisha Harper didn't have chemistry with Réal Andrews or Donnell Turner either.

I think this might happen. It keeps Lucky in PC but allows him to gallivant around the world being "useful."

LOL that Sonny would like Lucky to stick around because he needs a sparring partner. Trina would be more effective.

No cliffhanger of any sort. Huh.

Well, PC does need an interim District Attorney while Robert's gone. ( Dk how it would work with Molly also working there, but when did conflict of interests ever matter on GH)

Lucky should absolutely be WSB. It would keep him close to law enforcement, where whatever they say now both he and GV's Lucky fit well. Even if Brennan is a joke to me and a smarmy supervillain.

And furthermore! Imma just say it: Gio has a nice butt. And I've already called attention to his overall impressive physique they have taken bizarre, BLQ-esque pains to hide for months. But while the character still has very little discernable personality or purpose to speak of (beyond the looming fear of a pointless Dante/BLQ bloodline tie), GM's own energy onscreen is very bright and happy to be here. He's started to have more fun onscreen in scenes with the Qs as opposed to just standing around beaming and saintly like he was in the summer, and it's become kind of infectious. It's obvious they are terrified of doing anything interracial at this point since they backed off putting him with Trina ASAP after he first started, but hey, Gio's cute, increasingly fun and I'd still like to see them smash even if it's just once. Trina isn't gonna fall in love with Kai Taylor overnight and she needs a fling with a cheery twunk! (Though to be clear, Kai is also cute.)

All I'll say about Robert and Holly's ridiculous exit that I haven't already is I cringed watching TR carry his own bags. Robert's appearance increasingly began making me think of an animatronic Star Wars puppet in his final weeks and I've spent days worrying a fall or other accident will happen on-camera. The onscreen decline is sad but if Tristan is happy with this HEA then I'm happy for him, even if I can't stand Holly or her whining rationalizations for her endlessly self-obsessed behavior. I don't really want to see them come back in a few months tbh but I'm sure they will for visits, and if it keeps Tristan cared for and poor Emma Samms financed that's good I guess. I've grown to hate Holly but ES doesn't deserve what she's gone through in the pandemic, and I am glad when GH can care for these actors.

Anna staring aghast as Holly produced the diamonds from her wallet to once again explain herself sent me. Anna should just be like ‘remember the thing with the monkeys, Holly? Have you made reparations to them? Been by Tony’s grave?'

The interwebs tell me Giovanni Mazza is 5'9", so he's probably an inch or two shorter. Eden McCoy is 5'7" (short for a volleyball player [which she no longer is, it seems], but not absurdly so).

I agree since Trina isn't behaving like she's crushing on or attracted to Gio (other than great admiration for his musical talent) and TJ and Molly are clearly about to break up. TJ being so cold and unemotional with Alexis and Molly about Sam's death when he's been around Sam often for approx. 10 years due to his relationship with Molly, is horrible. I realize he's in doctor mode at the hospital but I see zero compassion. I saw the TJ-Molly hug and what he said to her, but he's supposed to be the love of her life. A neighbor or old childhood friend could have done the same. Did he even remember her birthday?

I also agree about TR. I was a little taken aback at how old and frail he looked in the dim light when Holly and Robert had their reunion scene before getting on the plane. Worse than when he paused and looked back at Diane from the doorway before exiting.

He reminds me a lot of Cameron. But if he was supposed to be the same kind of character, it feels a bit too late. It won't be long before Joss and Trina will be moved onto more adult stories.

They're not in the same weight class.  Remember, Diane said Sonny was "180 pounds of pure muscle," making him a light heavyweight. At best, Lucky is a 154-lb. junior middleweight.  But I wouldn't put it pass Sonny to punch below his weight class, LOL.

It feels like they were freshman about 2 years ago, so yes. Joss at least should be ready to graduate any time now. 🙂 

Not that I mind soap opera time expanding and contracting as needed.  

Which reminds me... what use is Joss's degree in Environmental Science going to be in PC?

That scene (the Jason/Ric garage beatdown in 2006) was something else. I do not get misty-eyed with nostalgia for the reign of the Gooze, but everyone involved committed to it that day, and Ric looked afterward as if he really had been pummeled by a mob enforcer.

It made most of the "fight" scenes on later GH look even more tepid than they are. 

Bonus: When I looked up the exact year for that, I found that the Ric Lansing "Health and Vitals" section on the fandom site is almost all about him being beaten up. You scroll and scroll and you're still in 2003. Heh.

I don't remember that one at all. I should look it up. I do remember when (IIRC, correct me if I'm wrong) pint-sized Sonny retaliated for the panic room horrors with Carly by... taking Ric to their parents' beach home and having Jason repeatedly push him down the stairs, lol. Like he couldn't even do it himself?

I may be misremembering it a bit - I think Jason merely collected Ric, tied him up, etc. and then just kept bringing him up the stairs for Sonny to kick or push down again, lol. But still!

Ugh I’m already sick of the way they’re writing Lucky.  He says he needs to be somewhere he’s useful.  He’s restless.  Umm excuse me sir. You have a son, a mother, and a sister about to wake up from a coma.  Not all superheroes wear capes, as they say.  What am I supposed to do here he says?  Maybe Parent Your Child??  Get a job?  I guess that’s not flashy and exciting, but what good is traveling the world trying to save it when you can’t even take care of your own family.  I really hate that.  I’m saving the planet!  Well maybe you shouldn’t have had children then.

Ask and you shall receive….I asked a few days ago where Jason lives and Friday we saw his room!  It’s actually really nice.  The rooms at Kelly’s used to be like a twin bed, a dresser, and a bathroom down the hall.

We've actually seen his room several times. The first time when Danny snuck off to see him; Anna's been there a few times when discussing...Valentin.

I stopped watching for a while so I missed these things.  I mostly tuned back in for JJ which after the first few days has been a vast disappointment (not his fault, he’s doing the best he can with this aimless storyline).

Utterly heartbreaking: Scout upset over her dad's injured face and reminding him of his promise to stay with her, Maxie's monologue to Sam's photo, and Alexis being upset and getting support from her daughters over breaking her bracelet from Sam.

Is Ric trying to be more of a low-life than his brother?  Loved NLG's delivery of Alexis's lines to Ric as he sneered at/taunted her right before the funeral. I was half expecting him to say Sam deserved to die.

Elizabeth and Aiden are such a sweet mother-son duo. Awwww. And kudos to BHerbst for the look, and reaction, Elizabeth gave Lucky about talking with Brennan. lol

Please tell me Nina turns Drew's other cheek purple too when she finds out he lied to her face about him and Willow, as she's helping him right before the funeral. I figured one of the kids would overhear them talking about Jason. Good reaction by Rocco.

What nuLucas said was right no matter how much Maxie wanted to dismiss it, and he kind of deserved to have a devastated teenage boy yell at him.

Don't care about Trina's new romance.

So nuLulu makes her grand (unconscious) debut as Sam's funeral is underway tomorrow. Of course.

Ric was a complete jerk today the way he showed up at Alexis’ home. Unnecessarily cruel of him. Molly is not a toddler that you had to show up and wish her a Happy Birthday. I think you could have have a conversation on the phone.

I cannot wait for Nina to find out about Drew and Willow shagging. He lied straight to her face. He certainly has honed his sleazy politician’s ability to lie.  Scout deserves better. Actually , she has Dante in her life so she does have better. 

I think I’m going to need a box of tissues for this funeral. NLG is going to break my heart.

I'm curious how Drew will be there for Scout when she lives in Port Charles and he was elected to Congress, which operates out of D.C. Will he be the first permanent WFH representative?

Ric is the last person to tell Alexis anything about Molly. Alexis is the one who raised her, not Ric. Can't show some grace for like a few hours while Alexis buries her child?

I hope there's another black eye in Drew's future coming from Nina. Close your fist next time you hit him, Nina.

Of course Lulu will wake up during Sam's funeral or as they are burying her. Saw that coming a thousand miles away.
