The "star" here in those photos seems to be Carlin not Layla. What a waste of money on those dresses. Carlin, for certain, didn't need one of those dresses. Sadly, I'm quite certain that these two will attempt to home school her.

IIRC they have already stated they will be homeschooling. Scary, isn’t it?

If only because they're too damn lazy to get up and take their kids to school. Not because of any firmly held principles about homeschooling, since I'm quite sure they don't have any principles.

I don't get how Homeschooling can be the "easy" choice for lazy parents - you have to be around your children all day! The whining, the questions, the checking that they're not destroying your house while you take 40 seconds to go to the toilet. School is wonderful - you get a break from them for hours EVERY DAY.

Signed,

The parent of a super intense child who has just started school and is loving every second of my alone time.

You actually parent your child, C&E do the bare minimum. They will probably do like Alyssa, they will sit Layla down in front of a DVD player and call it a day. Layla will have to find her way through the workbooks and pretty much teach herself.

C&E are so out of touch that they don’t realize Layla is behind her peers in almost every aspect. Evan was bragging in one of their recent videos about how they initially wanted to wait to get her her ears pierced, but Layla is SO SMART they decided to go ahead. Evan based his assessment of Layla’s superior intellect on the fact that Layla kept asking for earrings. C&E are not deep thinkers.

Agree - Carlin and Even are out of their depth as parents. And I feel really sad about that. They seem to be friendly, outgoing people who would probably be thriving if they could have been 'normal' young adults. But due to their stupid upbringing (hers more than his, I guess), if they wanted any of the perks of adulthood they had to marry young and were expected to procreate.

And now they're stuck in a situation that's not really great for anyone in their family without the resources, support or intelligence to find a better way that allows everyone to thrive.

I just can't believe the child is three years old wearing makeup and still pooping her pants!  🙄

Wearing makeup is the outlier at 3 years old these days. She is a little kid and should be playing with appropriate toys imo.

C&E are always ready to party, but not for their child’s third birthday? The celebration with the Stewarts in Nashville was just fine, but Layla has a gaggle of relatives at home. These two idiots spent a mint on a spa day and useless pink dresses that likely will not be worn again, but didn’t bother to get Layla age appropriate toys.

In one of the photos from Carlin's stories the other day it looks like she got a pink backpack with a baby doll attached to it.  From Target.  A drop in the bucket compared to what was spent at the kiddie spa, photo shoot,  and dresses, but still better than nothing I guess.

Sad that her pink dress was such a muted, washed out, barely pink colour.  My 4 year old granddaughter also loves everything pink, but she tells me she likes dark pink (magenta) better than light pink.  I think Layla is the same.  She may wear her dress again, but I doubt Carlin will (or should 😜).

Layla had another manicure. WTAF. Get that girl some learning toys, some Duplos (I think they are for her age, SGirl started on Lego at 2), anything other than just another freaking manicure.

When I saw her story I was wondering why it took so long to become bestie with Izzy. I need remedial reading.

Is Leisure Boy with them?

She needs to stop it with the pictures of Zade.

The pictures where that poor baby’s shirt is always riding up showing his belly? There’s an easy solution, onesies, SBaby had so many (what happens when you are waiting and sublimate by shopping). But it looks like C&E will do anything for clicks.

Katie posted after a drs appt today that the dr has told them it could be any day now and they think H is coming early and told them to get ready for the hospital. Katie is 35 wks. So IDK where Carlin is or if they just ran from Nashville to NJ back to Knox or what but I'm guessing they'll be headed out to NJ ASAP for the 2 wks they intend to spend there. Woohooo more material for YT.

And someone is offended that so many of us have commented on Layla not being potty trained - now asking for grace and saying every child is different?? Yes Carlin, every child is different. Yet the one commonality - they don't train themselves, so in order for this to get done you need to STAY HOME whether it takes days or a week. But alas - nail salon was calling again . . . .

And BTW Carlin your child is the one who announces she's pooped and you and your family take videos of it and put it out there, so really I don't think you have room to feel judged here. I mean one of the Evan's sisters bday IG wishes was - OMG Layla keeps us laughing all the time. You know what Layla was doing - Evan was holding her at his parents' house, they were counting down to something or getting ready to sing or whatever, child announces in front of the whole family that she pooped. Family laughs. SIL then posts this among her bday wishes and Carlin then reposts it going OMG HAHAHA. UH?

WTH is Layla gonna do at Katie's house for 2 wks? Normal people would maybe bring some toys. But I guess there's primping in front of a mirror and cooing at the baby, those are more "girly girl" activities.

I'm sorry no one's shirt rides up like Zade's does - up to his arm pits. Clearly the shirts ride up, but also they are clearly pulling them up further. They don't put an actual baby in a onesie but put their freaking THREE year old in them all the damn time??

So they went from crashing at the Stewarts to crashing at Katie's? Must be nice not to have to worry about work. I wonder when Whit's gonna finally have that Come to Jesus moment and say enough is enough? It's not like these girls are Kylie Jenner, who just shows up for photoshoots and has a whole team to run her brand. If they want to keep their business afloat they have to get out there and hustle. As far as I know Katie doesn't have an induction scheduled. What's Carlin gonna do, hang out in New Jersey for the next month waiting for the baby's arrival? And then stay an additional few weeks to "help"?

Yup.  Doctor said baby could POSSIBLY arrive early. They think that means she will arrive over the weekend?
I’ve got news for Katie.  When I was pregnant with my second and started having weekly appointments my OB kept telling me I would not make it to the next appointment.  Every week I showed up again. 🙄

Carlin is there already?  With kids in tow?  This is the last time Katie and Travis will ever be “just the two of us”.  Why the heck would they want Carlin there?  I don’t get it.  Unless she has an appointment with some specialist in NJ/Philly to generate YouTube clicks?  Would not surprise me.

Seriously. My kids all have tails, but if I had a dime for every time a friend or relative was told their spawn would arrive early and it didn't... Well, I might be able to afford one trip to the nail salon, with maybe a small Starbucks thrown in.

Did the Stew idiots take their dog with them, and if not, who's watching her? Did they forget about her? Did Evan get to drive the Tesla yet? Who wants to place a bet on how long the idiots will be infesting New Jersey?

And that post it note to pick the next activity thing is apparently making the rounds on IG/TikTok bc Trav/Katie did it too. But theirs wasn't them tricking a freaking toddler into picking what they wanted it bc it was being done with 2 adults. I mean way to make an ass of your kid by writing what you wanted her to choose on the pink post its bc she loves pink or on the yellow paper writing - pick the activity on pink.

Like you said, Carlin wrote everything she wanted Layla to pick on the pink paper so Layla would pick up.  Then she got all worried and said to Evan, "What if she doesn't pick the pink paper?"

Ummmm, the child can't read.  Even if she picks the wrong paper you can just tell her what she is doing next.

Probably the closest Layla will ever get to a ballet pose.  And BTW, what are they holding?

I have a feeling that Katie and Travis know when she is having this baby.  Early on she said that she probably wouldn't go to her due date b/c of her clotting disorder, so perhaps the doctor said he'll give her a week to see if labor starts naturally and if not, he'll induce.

Would Carlin really go down 4 weeks early to wait it out?   Regardless, she is there and brought Layla with her.  And oh goodie, she plans to potty train her at Katie's house.  Isn't that nice.

I was 3 centimeters forever, then went to 5. Starting at my 38th week my doc, just like @3 is enough, told me he'd see at the hospital next. He told me that for 4 weeks, until my kid finally came at 42 and a half weeks.

But maybe as @ranchgirl posted, they know more because of the clotting disorder.

Is Carlin planning on being in the delivery room? Who will taking care of Layla, her potty needs and Zade during this time?

And in addition to knocking off the chubby tummy Zade pics, maybe not give him a long plastic rope that could cause him great harm.

OBs don't do cervical checks after 36 weeks anymore.  Both my daughter and daughter-in-law had babies last year and neither of them had any in their last month.

I'm sure there are circumstances where it is necessary, but it isn't the norm these days.

I understand that the Bates sisters usually get induced early due to their clotting issues, but if my doctor had told me at 35 weeks that the baby would come at any time my first instinct would have been dismay because it seems a bit too early. Isn't term considered to be anything after 38 weeks?

Evidently Katie does want Carlin in the delivery room.  🤷‍♀️

OB's don't do nearly as many cervical exams as we used to do.  I used to check everyone's cervix when I did the GBS test at 36 weeks, but my younger partners don't.  They usually check around 38 weeks and then, not again until the due date.  I check anyone who is 36 weeks or more and wants to be checked, although I warn them that if they're not having a lot of contractions, especially if it's their first kid, their cervix is probably not doing much.  A lot of patients want their membranes stripped, which really isn't going to do anything unless the cervix is already doing something.  Even then, it doesn't work most times.

I have a partner, a lovely person, who tells almost everyone that they are ready and she is sure they'll deliver early anytime she does an exam.  It's just something she says all the time and it is really hard, if I am seeing one of her patients, to be more realistic about it and let them know that the doctor doesn't really know much more than they do about it. One of our medical assistants delivered last week, she was her doc, and, starting around 37 weeks, the doc told her how ready she was, how it was going to be any time.  She was induced 10 days after her due date, no signs of labor until then.  Gorgeous baby boy.

Most of the time, high risk patients, like Katie, who haven't delivered before, would be induced at 37 weeks at the earliest unless some complication occurs in addition to the clotting problem.  Carlin doesn't have anything to do and nowhere to be, why would she care if her 2 week visit turned into a month? If she was my sister, I'd turn out all the lights, hide, and not come to the door when she shows up.  She's like The Man Who Came to Dinner.

I hope they have a top notch home security system, because they’re always announcing when they’re out of town. Dumbasses.

At this point a family of six could be squatting in the house and C&E wouldn't know the difference. If they're at that place two weeks total out of the month, I'll eat my hat.

The squatters probably hang out in Zade's room and the garage when the Stewarts are home. They'd never know. 🤣

I still want to know where the Stewarts' dog is. My current suspicion is that they dump her off on Evan's parents.

Hell, the squatters could be in the kitchen and the Stews wouldn't notice. It's not like Evan and Carlin are in there cooking meals for their children or anything.

That would be my guess. Boarding isn't cheap. Did they even go back to Knoxville after Layla's birthday? I remember Evan saying they were heading home and the next thing you know Carlin is posting from NJ.

Yeah, just saw them posting from the car in the dark. No clue where they were headed.

If they are there they must be in hiding. But how did Carlin get from Knoxville to NJ? Surely Evan did not put her and layla on a plane with Carlin's history of undiagnosed seizures. Carlin going to Katies's to wait for Katie to go into labor anythime in the next what 4 weeks is crazy. Carlin and Evan are living in a fantasy world where people have no responsibility for showing up to work.  Sadly I believe this is how they will home school Laya. Just let her "go to school" whenever she feels like it. No schedule and no discipline just do what you want whenever you feel like it.  If there was ever a case of 2 people being too immature to have children these two are prime examples.

I worked in one state agency early in my career. We implemented another section's policy. Sometimes it didn't make sense. So we had a motto in our section. "It doesn't have to make sense, it's policy" which seems to apply here. Most of what they do doesn't make sense.

Maybe Evan is acknowledging, even if only to himself, that Carlin's "episodes" are BS and don't prevent Carlin from actually doing anything.

More questions -- did they drive, was this pre-planned, or did these unemployed boneheads shell out for last-minute plane tickets? I did that once, on a holiday weekend for probate reasons, and dang, was it expensive.

If this turns out to be the case there’s nothing preventing Evan from full time employment in a field he trained for for five long years.

There was never anything preventing him from working as an electrician in the first place, except pure-D laziness. If they had wanted to, they could have managed -- even without her family's help -- just like normal people would have had to do.

He’s there. He popped up in either Katie’s or Carlins insta today. I just wonder if this was all Katie’s idea. She seems like she would be the very nervous type. God knows, Kellie wouldn’t come for a month.

Usually it's the new mom's mother that is around to help out. Katie asking for Carlin is telling to me. I don't think Katie & Kelly are really close at all. This goes to show you, that when there is some real work to be done or a calling to responsibility, Kelly Jo is no where to be found. Was Carlin Katie's sister-moom?
