Why was Madison even on here? If she was invited, why not Marcie (not that I care, but still)? I know it's been said a million times by now but good Lord, what the heck has she done to her face? The twisted, half immobile mouth has ALWAYS been an issue but it is definitely magnified by those horrible new chompers. Someone else mentioned too, has she had a ginormous chin implant added to the mess? She already had a huge chin as it was! And I don't feel one ounce of remorse ripping into her appearance because she's done this to herself willingly and everyone knows she'd say even worse if it was someone else. Happy her face is now matching her rotten insides. I love Olivia and how she stands up for herself! She doesn't belong with Austen. She and Taylor seem to be genuinely good friends off of the show, which is refreshing with this group. I've picked up on their very sweet friendship on Instagram but was surprised to hear Shep confirm it. I kinda like them together too but then I also wish for more for Taylor. I thought Taylor's immediate attack mode was a little bit awkward/uncomfortable coming right out of the gate. I do understand what she means though. After a significant relationship, I think some people expect a little bit of a respectful mourning period. Where you assume your partner just wouldn't be interested immediately in being with someone else. It's not that you're expecting faithfulness from them after you've broken up. In this instance, Shep probably had someone new in his bed minutes after the break up conversation occurred. Craig looks waaaaaaay better. Not a Venita fan but man, I find myself really feeling bad for the girl. I hope for her sake she doesn't come back next season. If there is a next season!

This was my thought as well. I don't know, it seems like there were a lot of holes in this story and a lot of areas that needed to be dug into a little deeper that were just glossed over. I never really got a feel for the relationships among the family members, which would seem to be a key part of the story.

Alexis is an absolute idiot (for some reason who insists on trying to appear enlightened and deep, regardless, I totally blame her whackadoodle Mother), but Nick is just a disgusting excuse for a human. I was actually left upset that pieces like this are giving him exactly what he craves.....attention. He committed a crime, has no remorse, and has seemed to profit from it in more ways than one. I hope he carries with him that throughout his life, he's repeatedly been told that he is neither charismatic, smart, interesting or attractive enough to garner any of the attention he so desperately craves. A Loser of the finest degree. Andrea screaming in the phone at the Vanity Fair reporter...."you lied, you liiiiiieeeed"!!! OMG, reality t.v. comedy gold. I wonder if Tess has anything to do with her "sisters" and "Mom" anymore? I feel like they are estranged?

This whole Naomie/Craig saga needs to be done immediately. We don't not only care, we are actively annoyed by it. So stop it producers. Venita just can't keep her trap shut. Like she actively cannot help herself. That being said, Naomie should have apologized and I was super surprised that she just continued to dig her heels in over it. I am happy to see that everyone has stopped tip-toeing around both Venita and Leva. So they can both move on now. In the clip with Chelsea, I had forgotten how pretty she was and always seemed like a cool chick. Olivia just wants to have fun and keep things light and it just wasn't happening! My biggest proof that Whitney and Naomie aren't a real thing is that he didn't come to her defense or literally her side to make sure she was o.k. during either of the dinner blowouts. Shep is UGLY now.

Real Girlfriends In Paris - General Discussion
Vivigirl10 replied to heatherchandler's topic in Real Girlfriends In Paris
Ugh....Victoria. I think she has a split personality and the evil one comes out with that particular greased down hairdo she sports with the poorly done winged eyeliner and nasty lip liner. Her whole face looks different with that look. She lost me when she made the scene with Yoanne in the restaurant. This comparison is very stretched and really one doesn't have to do with the other but I really felt for him in that moment. As a flamboyant gay man, I am certain there have been times in life when Yoanne has been treated poorly. When she humiliated him like that, I don't know, it just felt really yucky. And then I couldn't help but think how she needed her "safe space" to be cuddled, hugged and clucked over for being SO BRAVE (and apparently the first person ever) to have maybe a teensy crush on a *gasp* GIRL!! I also think Yoanne probably loves that fabulous coat and she threw what looked like the equivalent of a Hawaiian Punch Cosmopolitan all over it!! I think we've all been around a girl like Adja behaving how she did at the bar with the hand ball players. Me, me, me behavior. Emily called it out and I can't stand being around people like that. No thanks. Now it's all I can pick up on in her scenes. Very self focused. Loved her Aunt though. Emily has the most beautiful hair and her teeth also constantly look like she just finished a bottle of red wine. Maybe she has 😆 Anya - I want to be annoyed by how she appears to be such a carefully crafted "character" but she comes across as a lovable old Jewish lady trapped in a young woman's body. And despite the crafted look, she conversely seems very genuine. Is Kacey on drugs? Have major hyperactivity/ADD? She seems like a good egg but my Lord, the energy and scatterbrained demeanor is a bit much. I also wouldn't hire her to teach my dog, let alone my child. For some reason, I like Margeaux's vibe! She seems funny, laid back and like she'd be a good time to hang out with. What I cannot stand is the boo-hooing over the stress of doing NOTHING. Girlfriend, you don't have to be a major entrepreneur. Go work at the corner cafe or bookstore. At least do something. Poor girl, imagine those who actually have work stress, have to pay their own rent, etc.- 155 replies

Thank you for this. Taylor is a sweet soul so the others automatically project that she won't stand up for herself. I hate that. Just because not everyone handles things the way bulldozers Leva and Venita do, doesn't mean Taylor's way is wrong or ineffective. I wouldn't find Austen particularly bothersome BUT (as a poster reminded us) he did cheat on Madison. And for those who watch Summer House, I absolutely loathed how he he turned up and treated Ciara so horribly (whether you like her or not). He was downright, in your face, mean to her. I think Austen also treats women who he thinks are "on his level" differently than those that he would deem are not. I did think the conversation with Taylor was interesting and came across as heartfelt. It also backs up what I had already picked up on from her Insta, they must truly be friends.

Nobody watched?? It was a combination of intriguing and some plot holes and some easy to make fun of/ridiculous spots. Did Mae conjure the over the top acceptance from her classmates at the alter of the dead crow? She manipulated all that, correct? Because even in 2022, the school immediately embracing a weirdo/awkward kid from a questionable background seems a bit much. Not to mention, publicly cheering a girl with a pentagram carved on her back. Her crowning as Harvest Queen was completely Carrie-esque with a very different outcome. Suzanne completely sucked at her profession, if you ask me. Any Mom should know that taking away your teenage daughter's room, giving away her clothes and insisting she befriend a sudden unexpected (unwelcomed?) occupant in her home is asking waayyyyy too much. She seemed to do it without an ounce of understanding to Jules. She catered to Mae at the complete detriment of her family. She violated HIPAA. I think she got what she deserved in the end. Unless Mae manipulated Suzanne through the alter of the dead crow, as well? But if she did all that with her satanic powers, that means the cult wasn't just an unhinged group, that means they actually had mystical powers and that's on a whole other level. So which is it?

S08.E11: Guess Who's Coming to Friendsgiving
Vivigirl10 replied to Pop Tart's topic in Southern Charm
Thank you! Most definitely an AirBNB/Vrbo. I'm not saying that Austen's Aunt doesn't have a house where they have Thanksgiving but that wasn't it. Craig should rest assured that napkins on the head is perfectly acceptable since social justice educator to the masses, Leva, was allowing it to go on! So true! Speaking of Leva, she apparently dipped her legs in a bowl of melted caramel before going to the party. I haven't been a Paige hater. On Summer House, I tolerate her living in her bed and I've always found her pretty level headed, a good friend, and not one to take much BS. But she's working some schtick here that's dreadfully annoying. Where is this new, up in your face, "I'm a New Yorker" persona coming from? She only wears black (as another poster mentioned), in New York this is how we handle things....blah, blah, blah. Even her NY accent is all amped up. She doesn't talk like that or pull any of this stupidity when she's around other New Yorkers in Summer House. And once again, why did Naomi sign up for this? Naomi could intellectually mop the floor with Paige but here's Paige looking like she's schooling Naomi and Naomi can't even think of a coherent two word response. Riiiiiight. -
What an absolutely miserable episode. Yuck. Taylor seems like such a sweet and gentle soul. She shows a real kindness to everyone and does it in a quiet way. I loved how she coached Shep in how to apologize to Craig. But I always find myself thinking....does she have some hidden freak side? Why would such a demure person (and possibly even religious???) attach themselves to Shep? And from his choices in women, I wouldn't think a squeaky clean girl would even appeal to him. I can't wrap myself around a man professing to love someone but vocalizing being equally fine and unmoved if that person chooses to leave him. I really don't think Shep has likely spilled tears over Taylor leaving him. Which means he never really did love her. I thought Marcie shared a very insightful bit of information: that Shep's parents are lovely, he was raised right, but this is how he's always been despite those facts. I love that Metul is openly spoken of as the horrible person that he is. What I can't believe is that Naomi hasn't had some slander lawsuit slapped on her or some other legal action that would prevent her from talking about him on the show. Everyone knows that reality tv participants have some pretty rabid and kooky fans. I don't believe Naomi is the exception. Which means that I'm sure Metul has faced at least some backlash. I wonder how or if that's affected his career?

Apparently, there's beef between Brock and Katie. Brock said she was disinvited to the wedding but basically showed up anyway? Katie disputes this but I'm not sure what reason she is giving then for being at the resort. Or what the reason for being disinvited was. In one item I read, Katie "caught" Tom and Raquel making out. Which does just scream "for a storyline". The more I think about it, the more Tom and Raquel might just be the perfect couple. Dumb and sweet. Scheana's wedding and this surrounding drama is probably injecting a measly bit of life back into the show that will cause people to tune in. I just wish this show would crawl under a rock and die. It's a mockery of what it started out to be.

No thoughts on Scheana's wedding? It's obviously just going to end up as failed marriage number 2 for the poor girl. Apparently Schwartz and Raquel hooked up at the wedding. That's a pretty low blow to Katie if you ask me. Those two don't share one whole brain cell even put together so I'm not surprised at the lack of insight. I have to say (and I certainly have been a critic), Brittney did look good and much slimmer/toned in the wedding pics. The boobs will forever remain another story, but you can certainly see an improvement in her figure, I think even far pre-baby. It seems like she's put in the hard work so I can't deny the girl a compliment. On one of the Instagram pics someone commented, "I can only hope to find a man who looks at me the way Jax looks at Brittney". I mean, really??? There is really a person out there who believes this? I about barfed and fell to the floor when I read that.

Shep is MEAN. Plain and simple. He disguised himself as a laid back surfer dude early on but his true colors have shown. I think we're going to see more of this side with Taylor, unfortunately. I loved seeing Auldbrass too but think it has definitely seen better days. Seemed a bit run down. The dirty windows couldn't have been cleaned? What did Leva do to her mouth? Her lips are too big and her teeth are like bunny teeth. Her hair is beautiful. She needed to take about 5 seats at the bonfire. If she's not lecturing, she's mediating when no one needs her butting in. It's exhausting. Let people talk and work it out. They don't need your superior assistance. Still like Taylor and Olivia. So is this when Austen and Ciara hooked up and she had to admit it at the Summer House reunion after he had been a complete dick to her? Or is this yet another time? I always feel so bad for the sister!! When Austen got the looks in the family, that's not saying much!

I'm late to the party, sorry, just started watching. I was prepared after the first episode to stop watching because of Ayan. I cannot stand people who are "characters", not real people and no one you could have a conversation with. My two perfect examples would be Noella (stopped watching because of her) and Erika Jayne (same). So I was super surprised at Ayan this episode. She showed a real friendship with Lesa and shared something personal with Sara. She's got a good sense of humor. She loves her husband. I do think that things get lost in translation with her where she sometimes doesn't grasp a joke and takes things literally. The one point I will 100% side with her on is it IS rude to have a conversation revolve around a party that one dinner member was not invited to. Isn't that basic etiquette? Did Ayan handle it well? Absolutely not. Will I probably hate her again the next episode? Likely! Agree with everyone that Caroline's whole presence is just weird now. Her relationship is odd and she just doesn't look good either. Where is the money coming from???!! Other than Lesa and Ayan, no one can really seem to articulate how they make their money, other than they are an "entrepreneur". I'll admit I wasn't hanging on every word of the story but the fact that he flew to see her in the US every couple of weeks does not jive with her tale of poverty where they were living in a studio apartment and broke when they got together. Am I wrong? Did something seem disingenuous on her end?

Forever Summer Hamptons - General Discussion
Vivigirl10 replied to Door County Cherry's topic in Forever Summer Hamptons
This show was so God awful that I need more! Why are they such a homely crew? Why did I need to be shown so many butts that didn't need to see daylight, ever? The two girls from the B team from the city were hard to digest in both looks and personality. I hated Ilan (didn't we all know this guy in college?) but I felt for him when the girl got her boyfriend all riled up to pummel him. So unnecessary. Were Avery and Emelye even friends? Avery's constant talking down to Emelye (who just stays in this pitiful town and doesn't go to college....blah blah blah) was very insulting. Yet Emelye never really responded to it. Hunter was so bad he was good. I felt like they were always alluding to how unattractive Frankie was (like he was so beneath Avery) but I thought he was a cutie and probably the best looking of the guys. Avery was in no way shape or form a dating match for him. Habs was so over the top adorable. I hope he's living his best life at college. Ilan's Mom was clearly angling for some sort of family spin-off. No interest. Ilan talked so fast he needed subtitles. Could have cared less about his interest in that wannabe singer. Boring. -
Heatherchandler, God bless you! I've been needing a Forever Summer Hamptons outlet to discuss! I'll raise my hand to agree! As ridiculous as the concept was, it was probably the best episode this season. Everyone seemed in on the joke. If they had taken it seriously, that would have been intolerable. Pat even repeatedly said it was just a stupid excuse to have a party. I really liked what we saw of Taylor this episode. She's poised and has a grace about her, but also seems fun and witty. She is way too good for Shep. There will be someone who will come along who will truly adore her. I'm with others questioning why in the world Naomie came back. Let alone (from the posted quote) begged to come back! She doesn't need the money and she doesn't seem the type to want the "fame" from being associated with this shit show. Her whole storyline with Craig is obviously contrived and scripted. She can't stand him but she signs up to (begs to) look like an absolute desperate fool, following him around and being set-up to have him drop some big insult bombs on her. It just makes zero sense for someone who has a bit of a superiority complex to participate in a planned story line that humiliates her. Whitney is so odd and that's why he makes good t.v. I had forgotten how he talks about women like he's a 16 year old player in High School. It's so awkward to hear the things he says coming out of a 50 something year old mans mouth. I did like his coat. I don't think he's an unattractive man. Olivia's date was a cutie! And seemed enthusiastic about the date! Let's bring him back and focus on a friendship between Olivia and Taylor. It'd be a good, fresh place to start.

Jill and the brood never do anything for anyone else. Can you imagine how different it would be if they volunteered, had a special cause they were devoted to, and shared that? Instead, she "saves" random souls and goes on her merry way. Which equals a big, fat NOTHING. She truly believes they are the Von Trapp family, singing and skipping through life. Somebody said it even better, that they are like the Brady Bunch (movie version) stuck in their own time warp. I am absolutely puzzled by how she has so successfully infantilized these children and adults. Because the kids buy into this BS too. How is there not one pouty rebellious teen in the bunch? Who kicks rocks and thinks it's all stupid? I always go back to the Turpin teens who were fans of the Biebs!! Because even if the Rodlets are completely cut off from society, I can't believe one of them doesn't hate the lifestyle and itch to get out. To instinctually know something is wrong.

We have to suspend reality to digest anything this "reality" show is feeding us......and it's really hard and not enjoyable. In real life, Venita and Olivia would say "hi" to each other at parties and generally avoid each other. There is no basis for a friendship there. Venita would not confront her Mom about a sensitive topic in front of the cameras. Naomie would not be calling Craig to bounce a situation off of and demand an in-person meeting versus telling him over the phone. Shep's complete opposition to marriage is so apparent that he could barely hide his horror at agreeing to have his dog do it! His dog! (Granted, it is the stupidest thing ever, but I digress). Leva's workout scenes and moaning and writhing around made me uncomfortable....I don't blame her little boy for being like WTF, Mom? Who is Shep's cousin and why has she suddenly been dropped in the middle of this show? Is she a regular member now? A "friend of"? I'm confused every time she shows up on screen alone. Am I supposed to be interested?

S08.E04: It's My Party and I'll Fight if I Want To
Vivigirl10 replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Southern Charm
I like her too. She was defensive to Venita because Venita's approach would make anyone instantly put their shackles up, and rightly so. Olivia so succinctly told her that the way she so casually tossed out the label "racist" made her uncomfortable so she walked away. Which was completely the right thing to do. Venita found this unacceptable because you aren't allowed to remove yourself from the situation, she constantly insists that everyone partake in a difficult "conversation" with her, at any given time. She then went on to say something along the lines of if you don't agree with her point of view, you can "take it or leave it". Really? No one is allowed to "leave" whatever Venita says. Only complete agreement is apparently acceptable. I've rarely seen anyone as impressed and in love with herself as Venita is, even on reality tv. -
I'm at a loss as to where to post but I must hear feedback from anyone else on the planet who is watching the horrible "Forever Summer: Hamptons" show. There's no thread and this is the closest genre that I could find to place it under!
-
This relationship followed the complete plan that Shep has for all his relationships: have a lot of good times, travel, part ways when the woman wants too much, and then reflect on all the fun you had while you were together. Taylor is still soooo young. I'm not worried about her. I also don't know why someone who seems to have traditional aspirations regarding a husband, family and home life, would even risk hanging her hat on this old coot who says he wants anything but a conventional relationship and family. Shep needs to date women who are in their 40's+ and either don't want kids, can't have them or already had them. But who are we kidding?! He's not looking at anyone over 28! That's why it will always be cycle, rinse, repeat with him. Which is exactly what he wants.

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
Vivigirl10 replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
Her IG username is "ohtannanbomb". I'm certain there's no use even betting that she actually thinks that is how it's spelled! Agreed. I think he looks handsome in that pic. Abbie looks adorable in the group vacation pics. I hope she's truly as happy as she always looks. -
Soooo....this is basically Sabrina?? I was 50/50 on this one. I probably liked it better by the end than I did at the beginning. Belly was annoying and self-centered but that's a big part of what made me like it (and her). That's the realistic and unfortunate way a lot of teen girls act. It's a tough time and not everyone navigates it in such a polished and confident way as her fellow debs seemed to be. She was caught in that transition between being a little girl and who you end up as by the time your teen years end. She was still 100% "herself", saying what was on her mind and in her heart, and acting uncensored too. I think this is what appealed to the guys. She wasn't like the other girls. I saw a lot of myself in her (minus the multiple suitors - ha!!). Unfortunately, in High School, the need to conform censors a lot of young women's true self behavior. You learn what works with your peers and what doesn't, and that changes you. And that's a little sad. So ultimately, I really liked the actress who played her and I think she did a fantastic job. I also think Belly had a big lightbulb moment by the end and realized how self-centered she had acted all summer. That being said, playing two brothers was absolutely the stupidest thing ever. I guess I'm in the minority but I thought the actress who played Laurel was almost cringey at times. Jeremiah as a love interest was out of left field and not believable. He's going to be living his best gay life in New York in a few years. He totally reminded me of George Michael; I couldn't unsee it. So handsome. Conrad being an asshole all summer never fully made sense. He was going to beat up his Mom and make her feel terrible because he knew she was dying of cancer? Nice kid. Kind of think it would have gone the other way. And how did that explain how much he hated his Dad and why he quit football? Big plot hole. Agree with everyone on the casual approach to all the drinking. I routinely kept forgetting they weren't in college. I'll watch a second season.
-
This is a feel good show and I'm here for it! I am puzzled by one thing. Goodness knows I have never laid tile, but I've watched a lot of people do it on HGTV shows 😄 Keith and Evan never use spacers. Is this common? It seems like on other shows, they always use spacers. To be honest, I'm not even sure what their purpose is. For grouting?? Is it better workmanship to use them?
-
Isn't anyone watching this? I enjoyed the first episode. I think the girl playing Belly is fantastic. Some of the other acting initially seemed a little cringey but seemed to improve as the episode went on. A few things that confused me - the kids all seem to think of each other like best friends and family, and yet it was presented that they don't see each other or communicate at all during the year when they aren't together? Did I miss something? Susannah's house in Cousins is the family's permanent home, correct (as in, Belly and her brother live in a different town)? In this age of texting and social media, I would think contact between them would be continuous, even if they don't live by each other. Belly was unaware of the change in Conrad and no one knew he had quit football. Odd. Same with Laurel and Susannah. If it's just a drive away, I would think Laurel would go to Susannah's house other times during the year, which likely means Belly would as well. I'm confused about Cam's introduction for this same reason. He's a "local" and Belly is not from there, but they went to 7th grade together? That whole exchange was kind of muffled and rushed to me. Obviously, I can tell I missed some key factor 😆

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Vivigirl10 replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
I know this family could write the book on how to spin things but "road-tripping to visit my bestie" instead of "driving to see my husband in jail" has to be hands down one of their most mind blowing! OMG - I just can't! (If in fact that is what it means.)
