  1. that's great! I wonder if it is possible for us post menopausal ladies to actually be the same as we were back in the day. I can make myself look similar in clothes, but, underneath it all is not the body of the young woman I was. I am still slim, although not nearly as slim as even 20 years ago although I eat right and exercise, etc. The years take a toll. I think Catherine Deneuve once said "you can have the face or the body, not both". She smoked, caused even more wrinkles, so chose the face, was plump, but face had fewer wrinkles.
  2. They did show her in a space behind a curtain when I think Meredith was a baby and daddy was in Jesus Jail. That is extremely private, doncha think.
  3. Haven't the girls met or exceeded expectations by marrying and producing?
  4. We were in London in 2007 which was fabulous. Sweet Son arranged trip. Loved every minute of it. Went to uro-gynecologist today. First time since the 80 that a "boy" doctor attended to the girly parts. I liked him a lot. He explained and explained. I am okay. I have a lichen in a small area that requires a tiny dab of steroid cream, blah blah. recommended Ellure as a supplement to help ward off EColi in the bladder. He explained why he thought this happened which made sense to me, being old, hysterectomy, no ovaries, no estrogen, less estrogen from breast cancer drug, trying to get off Estring, getting old. Stay on Estring. Did bladder sonogram and yay, empties completely. Offering this as a Public Service. Said the gyno I saw first was great as a doctor, and told me to travel to see the "family oncologist" who is moving practices about 30 miles away. Thinks very highly of him. Cardiologist told me same thing. I already have appointment at new place.
  5. Some people are used to chaos and feel unmoored without it.
  6. Maybe all this mystery is what she wants.
  7. I know I have never had these symptoms in my 79 years. I had one yeast infection in 1970.
  8. Very confusing. I took that drug twice a day for 7 days. Also, used the AZO urinary pain relief, and that worked great for symptoms after I was diagnosed and on treatment.
  9. All helpful to me, re: UTI. I had my very first one starting Christmas Eve! Very convenient!. Also felt vagina involved. Went to Urgent Care on Wednesday (first one, thought it was just passing). EColi. Got on antibiotic. Still having issues there and in vagina (hysterectomy 1992ish). Contacted primary care. Go to Urgent care or "your gynecologist". I haven't had a gynecologist in years. Asked could they make me an appointment. No. Called the Emory find a doctor. They gave me a list of clinics seeing patients in the far future. I got lucky with a nice young woman for the next morning. I think she is very new so not booked solid. Another test. Still positive. More of same drug which I realized i was having a bad reaction to. Called back. Next day saw her again. Took vaginal swab. Bacteria. Add gel to treatment. Said to see Uro-gynecologist. Who knew there was such a thing. By some luck I got an appointment for Valentine's Day. Yay what fun. A friend recommended D-Mannos, which seemed harmless and seems to help. As of yesterday it all feels normal again, but I am keeping the long awaited appointment on the 14th just to be sure, and to then not be a "new patient". I understand we elderly people can have issues with UTIs as we get more elderly. I had to fill out 5 long questionnaires. Who knew there were so many problems, tests, drugs, procedures, etc. for the "areas". I hope I don't need any but am preparing my head if I do.
  10. Makes one wonder if any of her "episodes" were caused by some over the counter magic something or other with known side effects they don't care about and no one told the doctor because, over the counter.
  11. Well, it makes me a little sad for the not Nurie who made these, under mama's tutelage (or threats) and did her best and they are craptastic anyway.
  12. Y'all know I don't love these people. But why should anyone have a problem if Jill has a job or what that "job" is. As long as I'm not forced to buy anything or support them or that they are "on the dole" that's on them. Would I do it? No. Would I homeschool? No. Still wish they would have some epiphany about their odious beliefs
  13. exactly. I posted a link and some info on this very topic, but, can't remember if it was on this thread. What society and "the law" says doesn't always go with science. Everyone should be accountable of course, but, take all the facts.
  14. Someone gave us some Blue Apron meals several years ago. My friend has used Hello Fresh. For both of us the issue was it takes a long time to dice, mince, chop the ingredients, most of them are done in a skillet and while it cuts out the shopping and planning, for us it becomes time consuming and a "commotion" and not worth it. I cook our meals from scratch every evening because it is my choice to. Mr lookeyloo just eats what I make and we are both happy. Some things are more production than some standbys but they are all relatively healthy and use normal ingredients. There are many tricks Janelle could try but she either doesn't want to, or, doesn't want to.
  15. I am in the same boat with getting older (just turned 79) small stature, had estrogen positive breast cancer so took the estrogen blocker. Gave me my "ring of fat" between bra and waist and a lot of wrinkles. Also have hypothyroidism which I think is treated correctly. I have been on a weight journey since young adulthood and have that kind of figured out for myself. My greatest downfall is fresh bread. So, I avoid it mostly. I am a unicorn in that I can eat one potato chip or one hershey kiss. So that isn't my issue. It is time catching up, crepey skin and that new Gold Bond does not work! I walk every possible day in my subdivision up and down hills which turns out to be about 3.5 miles. I used to belong to a gym and did weight classes. I have weights here, the room, endless YouTube videos. I am not motivated by myself and I haven't gone back to the gym yet. I cook the evening meal. We eat a simple breakfast and I don't eat a real lunch, usually something small. We don't go out much by choice. I try to buy at least good food to cook! Grass fed meat and pasture raised eggs, milk and chicken. Hard to know if that is even helpful but makes me feel good. Very little processed food. I can look really good in clothes, but, I know what it all looks like underneath it all!! Getting older isn't for the faint of heart!!
  16. Maybe wants people to say "lovely couple. Wait, you are his mama? NO! Can't be! You look too young"
  17. That is great and I'm sure many parents take advantage. The part where records are kept might scare these people away.
  18. So the mystery remains. I wonder if Daddy talks to his layabout son about doing better.
  19. Well, that makes too much sense! Janelle still isn't used to living like that. Hard to know how much time will have to pass until she internalizes some of what she "preaches".
  20. I wonder how much of this is because of the Bates chaotic upbringing. They are not used to downtime. Most of them seem emotionally stunted and immature. Also, their father didn't really work either, so role model? And if Evan is basically lazy, this works for him too.
  21. Doesn't look like Tony is partaking of Plexus
  22. I must be reading too much here!! I dreamed I was part of the Dillard bubble of sorts. Not Covid related, just knew them and was talking to them about homeschooling and they had what they thought were really good reasons and i was trying to say "have you considered" and they said yes, and rejected. In my dream they were very pleasant.
  23. Gosh we have a family member who thinks it is "fun" to put sleeping bags everywhere. We say "where is the nearest hotel". Not fun for us. Most of rest of that side of family packs in. Ugh.
  24. Did she marry him because she thinks he is "pretty"? What was the draw? Semi talented unemployed pretty boy.
