  1. If it were me, I'd block him. I think any kind of response by you is going to be seen as encouraging by him. Even No.
  2. What is the speculation on this "family planning"? If the women are supposed to be joyfully available and they are married to allegedly healthy men, how does that go? I am also guessing that allegedly healthy and not overworked young women don't mind the available part, might even enjoy it.
  3. Seems like NYC would get with the times. Our laundromats take credit cards
  4. Recrudescense is what the stroke drs. called Mr lookeyloo's second set of exact symptoms after his stroke. I don't understand all the medical stuff, something about can't have another stroke in same spot because that part of the brain is dead, but, can have a recurrence of symptoms. anyway, medical folks will know or someone who has experienced. But the word did bring up something for me!
  5. Agree. All those shows became handwringing. All the pundits were wrong about everything. Ratings, etc. I gave it all up this time around.
  6. a loophole to be sure
  7. With their money they can have anything! Pipe it in, have the hosts set up a dvd player, VPN, etc.
  8. oh gosh, all religions are pick and choose and look for loopholes. Had many a discussion recently with someone who said "no" and then asked "higher ups" and, well, yes. At least that is my opinion and I am not a religious scholar. some things are custom, some things are tradition, some things are "that's the way we do things", etc. I like my religion and I know it is full of varying opinions and loopholes but I look to it more as a connection to times past, people of my heritage, traditional things that bring connection, moral lessons, probably common to most or a lot of religions, etc.
  9. Happy Anniversary! Mr lookeyloo and I were talking today about wanting what you have and hoping that is enough to be content and comfortable and secure. We find ourselves there right now and are grateful.
  10. Agree. Also, everyone and everything is so Clean! And how do Elizabeth and Rosemary have so many clothes? Since Rosemary is a dressmaker (if I remember, or did she just have the shop) I guess that is why they are altered so well. Never a hair out of place, never looking frazzled, always a freshly made up face and hair... But, I still do enjoy it maybe because of all that. A fantasy for sure.
  11. Agree, this is very possible
  12. Honestly I think a lot of what they say on the show is "shtick". If one ever listened to them being interviewed together it is a different picture.
  13. Its called Counting On
  14. Excellent. when I say I go to class twice a week for weight training I didn't say I am not always motivated and sometimes have to drag myself there and whine inside my head the entire time. I am always glad After I do something.
  15. Totally agree with your father's example. I leave the house just about every day even just to go to a grocery store for a few items. I wear hearing aids and glasses and am befuddled by people who don't/won't. It limits those kinds of interactions which keeps us connected. I tell the grands to try new things, so of course I have to take my own advice. I am slower than they are, but, they are seeing me as an example too. thanks! The young'uns don't believe all this will happen to them. It creeps up. I wish I there was sunscreen when I was young. I keep telling the granddaughter to use it but she doesn't believe she will turn into me one day. I didn't either think this is how it would be. But, oh well, onward.
  16. Well, folks, I am turning 81 in a few days. You "young whippersnappers" at 70 make me nostalgic for those days. I am still in pretty good shape because I work at it, and feel younger inside, but, the mirror doesn't lie. I will never look like 70 again. All of a sudden things happened. Yet, inside I don't feel it. I think sometimes that my days are numbered, because honestly, 81 is sobering. People say "Oh you don't look that old" and compared to some women I know that is true, but, I am indeed "that old". Enjoy your "youth" while you can and I am glad to be this old, but, I don't really like the changes that can't be helped, like wrinkles. I work at walking upright, and such, and do take 2 weight bearing classes a week but it is not the same as 10 years ago. The alternatives are retiring to a recliner which I don't have, and dying which are not on my "to do" list.
  17. We watched Six Triple eight last night and enjoyed it. If anyone read the book, First Ladies, which was about Eleanor Roosevelt and her friendship with Mary McLeod Bethune, it referenced that a bit.
  18. https://medium.com/the-political-prism/1968-the-year-polarization-started-in-american-politics-4fa26278751c
  19. I went to college after a divorce when I had 2 small children. Ex kept telling me I wouldn't make it through registration. Back then it was with key punch cards. I considered myself well read. College classes with other people added another dimension that I never realized was important. So I would love for Jinger to start with maybe one on campus in person class with all kinds of people and views.
  20. Fair enough. I am too old to know how this will finally play out!
  21. I am just guessing she has put the fear of her version of god into them about abandoning her into a nursing home and they will rotate her care out of guilt or sense of fear of the afterlife.
  22. I believe they will all be confirmed, even after a lengthy and frightening confirmation hearing. seems like they are all scared of him and that is scary enough. Now he is suing pollsters. ABC settled. Not good.
  23. And in her AD video she says they both come home from the show and hit the "snack pantry". So they make things up as they go along. I wonder what is the truth. I am guessing they have "shtick" for the show and life for them is normal for rich people. I am not begrudging them the rich. For whatever reason they have made it big and even if some don't think they are deserving, there are a lot more who do, hence the ratings/salaries/ etc. Both sets of their parents have been married forever and they have been married over 25? years, so I guess they have learned what works for them.
  24. Many people, not just grifters like them, live in the moment. But they are champion grifters.
