Live With Kelly And Mark - General Discussion
lookeyloo replied to Shermie's topic in Live With Kelly And Mark
Maybe/probably she does have an eating disorder. It is hard to know if her family has tried addressing that with her. I don't know much about them, but the little I know is that they are very hard to treat and conquer. It isn't as easy as just eating a burger. -
That wasn't the point.

Was it Jesse Jackson who said "life begins at conception and ends at birth" referring to those beliefs.

Jana and Stephen: Slow and Steady Gets the Best Wedding
lookeyloo replied to ginger90's topic in Counting On
Jana has been the most "unspoken" Duggar. For years she said nothing or made a face. None of us really know how she loves Stephen. Still waters could run deep. Thing is we don't know. And of course there are different kinds of love/marriage/outward demonstrations/PDI, etc.- 385 replies

I called our two senators and our representative Of course got staff members. I asked what are the democrats doing to organize and resist this administration? All three staffers had a script I think "I cannot speak to that but will pass your concerns to the Senator/Congresswoman blah blah. I said I know you can't but I want them to know I am curious as to if the democrats are organizing behind the scenes and do more than issue statements. I don't know...can they do anything if they organize? Are they? Very frustrating. I listened to a Steve Schmidt substack and he said the same thing. Where are the democrats?

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
lookeyloo replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Probably. After reading the Mama Love book and how her process was, I am now cautious about anything in a ghostwritten book as being authentic. -
I listened to a chunk of that hearing. When they adjourned the chairman thanked RFKJr and said something to the effect of looking forward to him being confirmed. So the fix is in. He is a scary fellow. "I have your book with a quote". Him. "I never said that". He also doesn't know the difference between correlation and causation or he pretends.

Maybe she will have a ghostwriter. I really learned about ghostwriting in the book The Many Lives of Mama Love which wasn't really about that at all. -
Live With Kelly And Mark - General Discussion
lookeyloo replied to Shermie's topic in Live With Kelly And Mark
Honestly I don't know how involved they are except that the inlaws used to come for extended lengths of time and stay with them and they have travelled together. Kelly has said she is involved with her parents but her mother and sister hate the limelight and don't like to be photographed. Now, we can say well Kelly isn't friends with these celebrities anymore. Okay. But, in my head, I can't get to the place where she and Mark are not involved in a lot of ways with their elderly parents. Remember both sets of parents have been married for a very long time. Mark and Kelly have been married for a very long time by "celebrity" standards. There have been rumors of him cheating, him "pinging", etc. Meanwhile they are still together and family oriented and whatever they do on the show from what I know about them, they are involved in the way they want/need to be and just because we don't see it doesn't mean it isn't happening. Also, if they did show a lot then it would be "Kelly can't keep the camera out of the faces of her aging parents/inlaws" This has nothing to do with what people complain about her on the show. I don't watch often but I am less aggravated by all of it. It isn't real life. Their ratings are high enough to warrant a new studio and spendy contracts. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but, a lot of folks watch, even if for the train wreck, it counts. -
When Calls The Heart - General Discussion
lookeyloo replied to maraleia's topic in When Calls The Heart
The Nathan character has zero chemistry with the Elizabeth one. I do think she is kind of attracted to him in real life. I can't believe she is that good of an actress. I remember that the actor is involved with the Fiona character and Erin is with the Mike character. -
Fond memories of the blackout. I was a young married and working downtown Manhattan when at around 5 p.m. several coworkers and I got into the elevator, and it blinked and bobbed, and we got out. Then everything went dark. We made it down many flights of stairs to the street. All dark. Someone let us into a Schraftt's to use the phone, odd, but, yes. I managed to call ex Dr. lookeyloo who was in medical school in Brooklyn. Somehow he managed to navigate the dark streets. Before he got there the Schraftt's lit some candles and started giving away food. I was with a co worker. We were lucky to get I can't remember what and a dish of melting ice cream. ex Dr. lookeyloo finally found us and said he would drive co worker home. She always took the subway and only knew her address, not how to get there. No maps, no google, no light, etc. Somehow we got her home. then made it back to Brooklyn and had to climb 11 flights of stairs. We went to bed. Then hours later the lights came on, and my mother in NJ called to tell me, as if we wouldn't know. It was quite the experience.

Well it's something. My theory is that he threatens people with ruin, as in go against me and I will audit you, harass you and your family, put you on the no fly list, revoke privileges, monitor your mail, traffic stops, etc. Also, it boggles my mind why the congress members who are so inclined don't have secret meetings and strategies to file lawsuits, etc. If they came at him as bloc and revealed his threats out loud, maybe just maybe things might slow down. I still recommend this book https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/707263/the-highest-law-in-the-land-by-jessica-pishko/ He has sheriffs at his beck and call. They are very powerful.

Probably working on another project. This show cracks me up. Like watching a comic book with people instead of an animated show. All perfect all the time. -
Carlin and Evan: But Mostly Carlin!
lookeyloo replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Bringing Up Bates
My late brother had speech delays. He was born in 1952 and I don't think anyone heard of speech therapy. I was the only one who could understand him. I was almost 9 years older than him. He pointed, and made some sounds and could say a few things. His first sentence was "two cookies". Anyway, we all just went along and then he went to kindergarten at age 4 and a half and whatever happened there fixed him. So, I'm thinking if there is nothing "wrong" with Zane except his lazy parents, and if they could manage to send him to school (not likely) things might work themselves out. -
Agree - we went to see her show the PTSD one. Terrifying what she went through, and yes it was the government. https://www.gq.com/story/kathy-griffin-government-targets-comic

And that is your prerogative. But she didn't need him to try and ruin her for a tasteless attempt at a joke. Or any president of any party for any comic's tasteless attempt at a joke. Or insulting slurs in print as in a former president's wife.

Oh gosh, I am Very Old. I remember the wringer washer. My mother got her arm caught in it once and I had to go next door and get my uncle. I remember the old Playtex rubber pants my brother used. I remember no car seats and no seatbelts standard. My father had lap seat belts installed in the back seat only for our 1955 Buick. We had one of those refrigerators with the lazy susan shelves. I have the paper with the formula recipe for my children, but I was lucky enough to have Similac as a comp because the Ex Dr lookeyloo was in medical school. My second brother was premature and back then had to stay in the hospital til he weighed six pounds which was 6 weeks. I remember my mother pumping with some archaic device and filling up 4 of those glass Evenflo bottles with the black caps and my father taking them to the hospital and was told later the nurses fed the nursery on her milk. Oh no! Back in the day I guess that was possible. I don't know how often they visited him because I was just 4. The prototype Pampers didn't come along til Sweet Son was about 6 months old. I washed diapers in a portable washing machine that hooked up to the kitchen sink and hung them out on a line. We finally got a Maytag Porta dryer that didn't need venting. I put an old stocking over the outlet to catch the dust. I have a lot of olden day memories.

I'll bet you are wrong. I would recognize it as what it was intended coming from her. She says a lot of outrageous things some could be construed as insulting me but seriously? I am not humorless and don't consider her a threat. If you took that seriously that is your business.
-
I think a lot of people are afraid of this. Not that they did anything wrong, but the misery he puts people through is terrifying and costly. Ask Kathy Griffin. She did nothing wrong but offend him and her life was hell for years. Whether you like her or not, she is a citizen who was targeted. More coming, I'm afraid.
