  1. I am still in the camp that believes the threats are not "just" being primaried. I think the threats are like "we know where you live and where your children go to school. How would you like an IRS audit?" Etc. I wonder if a large group of them came forward at the same time revealing this would it dilute the effects and they could work with the Democrats to attempt to restore sanity.
  2. I don't usually comment on your posts, or most posts, but, I think we have all been "fucked over" already and it will show up soon enough for all of us one way or another.
  3. Geeze, sounds awful. I delete it every day after reading comments here. How do they get the audience in? Free snacks? Hire people? Shelter from the cold, I guess.
  4. this show boggles my mind. I guess I watch out of habit. why in the world aren't Nathan and elizabeth planning a wedding? They surely know each other. Have addressed Little Jack and his father. Just drag it along. The books were so much better but I will probably watch this one til the bitter end.
  5. I think the threat was more than being primaried. As in "I know where your family lives"
  6. My brother watched Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC last night. For what it's worth he said a democratic lawmaker said his republican colleagues don't agree with what is going on, but that they and their families have been threatened to comply. Anyone else watch/hear/suspect this?
  7. Curious now, since I am just an ordinary quilter, but if the quilter is prize winning, can you share the name? I remember former California Rep. Katie Porter in an interview showing quilts on her wall saying "my mother made these" and it took me longer than a minute to realize that she was talking about Liz Porter of Fons and Porter fame. I agree about JD Vance. I wonder what Mrs. Vance thinks of all this.
  8. Totally agree
  9. Sadly for some reason I watched a few talk shows this weekend and listened to some satellite radio and the democratic legislators said "basically there is nothing we can do because they outnumber us, so go vote at midterms". Seriously? Nothing?
  10. OMG yes. I am in a quilting group. Half like me and half "as a Christian" who espouse anything but Christian values. I go and stay until that talk starts and then pack up my stuff and leave. I wish I never knew what those folks think, and why they have to say it is beyond me. Just sew and talk about fabric please.
  11. I have maintained on several forums and sites that I think there are people who threaten other people. As in audits, no fly lists, investigations, etc. Even if the people didn't do anything wrong this all makes their lives miserable and expensive.
  12. My three grands live in a suburb of Tacoma, WA. They have all gotten fast food, coffee barista, pizza joint summer and after school jobs. Their co workers are their school friends or they make friends of the co workers. None of them has ever complained of those things mentioned above. My grands are very special to me (one graduating law school in June, one a junior in college and one a high school junior) but in the world at large they are just someone's kids. What is different where they live? None of us are influential or "know someone".
  13. I don't want to read a ghostwritten book. Now that I am more aware of what that entails. I read The Many Lives of Mama Love and she has ghostwritten several books and explains the process. Maybe not all use that process but I am wary now
  14. We are just two people but we buy the things that are bundled, and not in big batches that have to be used up or repackaged. Chicken comes in 3 one pound packages. One pound is enough for the two of us, 3 times. Same with ground beef. Canned goods the same way. Regular sizes bundled. 6 cans of something don't go bad before we use them up. Butter if you use it comes in two pound boxes but it never goes bad. So, not everything works for us at Costco but enough does that it becomes a bargain. But, you do you!
  15. There was a time when the fellow from Germany classified Jews as a "race". I am also descended from Russian Jews from that area, so there's that.
  16. You might want to reconsider. Careful shopping will get you the membership $$ back. Also if you wear glasses they are much less expensive. I get my hearing aids there too. And around here gas is always at least 30 cents a gallon cheaper. Not in all places, but here. I have 5 Costcos to choose from.
  17. And sadly Dave Ramsey would say the same except maybe for the food part.
  18. Maybe/probably she does have an eating disorder. It is hard to know if her family has tried addressing that with her. I don't know much about them, but the little I know is that they are very hard to treat and conquer. It isn't as easy as just eating a burger.
  19. That wasn't the point.
  20. Was it Jesse Jackson who said "life begins at conception and ends at birth" referring to those beliefs.
  21. Jana has been the most "unspoken" Duggar. For years she said nothing or made a face. None of us really know how she loves Stephen. Still waters could run deep. Thing is we don't know. And of course there are different kinds of love/marriage/outward demonstrations/PDI, etc.
  22. I called our two senators and our representative Of course got staff members. I asked what are the democrats doing to organize and resist this administration? All three staffers had a script I think "I cannot speak to that but will pass your concerns to the Senator/Congresswoman blah blah. I said I know you can't but I want them to know I am curious as to if the democrats are organizing behind the scenes and do more than issue statements. I don't know...can they do anything if they organize? Are they? Very frustrating. I listened to a Steve Schmidt substack and he said the same thing. Where are the democrats?
  23. Probably. After reading the Mama Love book and how her process was, I am now cautious about anything in a ghostwritten book as being authentic.
  24. I listened to a chunk of that hearing. When they adjourned the chairman thanked RFKJr and said something to the effect of looking forward to him being confirmed. So the fix is in. He is a scary fellow. "I have your book with a quote". Him. "I never said that". He also doesn't know the difference between correlation and causation or he pretends.
