So a pretty boring episode today.

• The Gang of Four spend part of the episode finally piecing together that Rey might be looking into JT's disappearance and they worry that he is onto them.
• Sharon learns from Phyllis that Nick told Phyllis about his impersonating JT, and she is curious as to why Nick would confide in her.
• Phyllis tells Sharon that she and her dotter needed time apart and that Dummer went on a last minute vacay.
• Abby and Nate separately try to appeal to Devon to not speak against Lily in court; later Prick advises him to do what he thinks he needs to do--though he did say that in the Hilary/Lily relationship Hil gave as good as she got.  He also says that Lily is a good person.  And that his relationship with his own son is beyond repair.  
• Vic continues to spiral.

Ya know, there have been a few good moments over the last few days--I offer for your consideration Mariah's "Dumped" playlist speech, Ashley tormenting Billy, and so on.

Then...a romantic, pre-incarceration dinner with our favourite "We'll always have Paris" couple, in which DG's acting sinks even farther below the plimsoll line. Sleep-inducing interchange with Devon, and the return of the, to me, distasteful Shauna--waiting for that window of opportunity, I'd say. Victoria's panic attack and subsequent chem-testing with Dr DoTooMuch Nate was boring--and how did she get to Neil's apartment?  Sharon fans will appreciate Rey's fully packed arrival for a warm home-cooked meatloaf; I don't have to.

Mind you, Christian LeBlanc did act for a moment or two in his interchange with Devon. That was nice.

It was all about Lily's sentencing today.  Devon did her no favours in court, Bryton must be a good actor cause I really hate Devon.  Cane made the point to him that he forgave Neil who intentionally tried to destroy Hilary, why can't he forgive Lily?  Devon also told the judge that his worthless sister had been mean to Saint Hilary for a really long time.  Lily was apologetic and remorseful.  She was wearing grey, in preparation for prison. Shauna managed to support Lily in her VI statement.  The judge comes back to announce the sentence, just while Devon is perhaps regretting his harsh statements.

Oh and Neil was not there because Sofia is back in hospital.

Devon changes his VI statement and essentially takes it all back, and says Hilary would not want to see Lily go to prison and be separated from her family. And he explains his change of mind as being due to the fact that he was not acknowledging that the defendant was his sister who welcomed him into the only family he's every known.  And then he concedes that Hilary and Lily provoked each other over the years, and that it could have been Hilary driving while angry, killing Lily!  The judge iss somewhat annoyed as he had already reached his sentencing decision.  He recesses the proceedings.  Lily and family are elated and hopeful.  Mikey warns them not to get too excited.  Lily thanks Devon but he says he doesn't forgive her.  She submissively says that is okay, she is just pleased to hear what he said.  Devon leaves, saying he wants to be alone, so of course Cane follows him to CL and tries to convince him to come back to hear the sentencing.  Cane gives up.  Then Sharon weighs in and tells him to go and be there for Lily.  I don't really recall what she said but she guilts him and she tells him how she dealt with her Cassie grief.  Later, as the judge is about to sentence Lily, Devon shows up.  The judge sentences her to a $50,000 fine, suspended license for two years, and 12 months in prison.  Everyone is devastated, but this is good news, no?  Even Devon is devastated.  She'll probably be out in a few months and I guess will come back with a new face.

Sharon is not too happy with Tessa, and tells Mariah she cannot live them.  Tessa overhears and says she is moving out, but she has no place to live.  Isn't the tacky house vacant these days?  Sharon goes to work.  Tessa and Mariah have a heart to heart, where Mariah reveals her insecurities, and says she wants to take things slow.  Tessa wonders if she can get her job back and Mariahs says, not likely.  She then convinces Tessa to come with her, she has a great idea.  They go to CL where Mariah tries to get Sharon to appeal to Nick to get her an apt.  But Tessa broke the lease and there are no vacancies.  Then she appeals to Sharon to give her a job as a barista and Sharon reluctantly agrees.  She will probably sleep in the office.  I don't see how this is going to get her the $20,000 she needs, but that whole story seems hinky.

Well, there was  a brief moment where Mariah was pleading Tessa's case with Sharon and indicated that she is having some problems that she needs help with.  Sharon caught this, and asked what problems Tessa is having, and Mariah just brushed it off.  So it makes sense that somehow Mariah will get dragged into this $20,000 problem and Sharon will be none to pleased, especially if Tessa rips her off.

Actually, Mariah has a job and is living rent-free, presumably.  She should just pay the $20,000.

Has anyone actually seen Tessa’s sister who’s the hooker? I stopped watching for months so that may have been shown before but Tessa is acting really sketchy and nervous since she returned. I really like Mariah’s character and, of course, the actress who portrays Mariah so I don’t want her to be betrayed by Tessa. Her whole life has been one betrayal after another. Tessa just needs to go away in my opinion.

Teresa's sister, Crystal, was onscreen during the Abby/Zach storyline.  He was her pimp and she's the one who shot him, the reason she's now hiding out.

I think Tessa is definitely going to betray Mariah is some way.  She is acting odd since she returned, and the $20,000 owed money story doesn't make sense.  And Mariah is not being cautious at all, although she said she wants to take things slowly.

Dummer is back and she is pissed!  She goes home and realizes that mommy and Billy moved out so she heads over to the Abbott manse to confront her.  Kyle and Dina are just about to watch On the Waterfront, their ritual.  Dummer and Phyllis have a huge fight and Phyllis is quite viscious towards her dotter.  It's so odd.  She tells her to go ahead and reveal the truth to Billy, that he will get over it and they will be fine, but Sharon and Nick will split leaving poor Faith with another broken family.   There was a lot more and it was not pretty.  They at first are upsetting Dina, and then she says if they are going to keep arguing to talk loud enough so she can hear.  Hah!  Then Dina gets upset and Kyle ushers Dummer out of the manse.  Phyllis ends up "watching" Dina.  Not wanting to watch OTW again she suggests they go for a walk.  But she gets a call from Lauren and tells Dina to wait outside at the table by the front door.  When Phyllis finally finishes her call, she cannot find Dina.  Kyle comes home and Phyllis is in a panic.  Kyle has found Dina in the orchard, because he has a tracker in her purse. Dina comes in and is all excited to watch OTW, and Phyllis plays along.

It's Lily's first day in jail.  She is wearing a denim shirt that says Inmate, and blue jeans.  She appears to be lucky enough to have her own cell.  She has already forgotten what her family looks like so keeps looking through her photos of them and cries.  I hope CK is done soon so we don't have to see anymore of that.  Cane cooks waffles for the kids, but there's no whipped cream, because that was Lily's job.  Sad!  Charlie doesn't want to go to school, but Cane says he has to.  Mattie says she will take care of it, but then when she goes to drive him to school he says his friends are picking him up and of course, he skips out.  Later busy body Nate checks up on the Ashbys and Cane gives him the lowdown about how Sam is missing Lily, and Charlie doesn't want to go to school.  He also says he is trying to get in to visit Lily but there is a rule that no one can visit for 48 hours.  He muses that he should call Devon to pull some strings for him!!!  Nate says that is a bad idea and Devon may never get over losing Hilary.

Tessa is having a hard time being a barista.  Mariah helps her.  Devon shows up and Tessa says how sorry she is about Hil and how bad she feels about the rotten things she said to her, and oh by the way, can you lend me $20,000 to pay off those guys who smuggled my sister into Canada?  He is dumbfounded and says no.

Devon visits Mariah at Sharon's house.  He tells her about Tessa asking for the money and says he doesn't buy her story.

That's how the Ashbys roll.  Cut them some slack and they want more slack.  Show leniency and they hold out for the absolution and forgiveness they believe they are entitled to.  And by "them" I mean Cane.  Devon won't have any peace until he pays Lily's fine and buys her a new car because she totaled the old one.

They’re boring, Lily is a convict, Cane makes my skin crawl and those kids are horrible actors, especially Charlie. Plus if they go to Australia, they can take Shawna with them!! Win, Win!

That love scene at the start of the Fri (CDN)/ Mon (US) episode before Lily's hearing was so awkward, creepy and barfworthy. The way Daniel Goddard kept positioning himself made it look like it was something other then what it was supposed to be.

Agreed. I kept thinking, I don't know, wouldn't you want to spend some time with your kids if you knew this might be your last evening with them? But stupid selfish Cane didn't even include the kids for dinner either. Dude I know you don't believe this, but it ain't all about you. Quite possibly this would not have played out this way if you hadn't, yet again, lied your ass off & gotten your son & his friend to basically lie as well. (Remember how well it worked out the last time you lied? It busted up your marriage cause you kept lying you idiot!)

I can't stand their love scenes anyway but this one...even in FF it looked awkward.

Won't miss the Winters family as they've been written. Nope. Not one bit.
