Honestly Lauren looks like a wax figure, her face texture, no movement and shine, even when sobbing nothing moves and her hair is hilarious!!  I hate to see Nikki go back to long hair again...she so suits something more age appropriate but then again so do most of the other females on this soap...

Am I the only one not giving a shit about Scotty?  After his being off the canvas for so long, I feel disengaged from the character, to the point that I thought his last name was "Baldwin", which would make him a) potentially interesting and b) a character on General Hospital.  So Lauren's attempts to work her plasticized face into contortions of sadness are just sliding off me like, well, anything cooked in frying pans on infomercials.  Aside from Kevin's and Victor's badassitude, the story line is a snoozer for me.

She looks so artificial and emaciated that I find her hard to look at--ironically, the very opposite of the "forever 29" look she's going for.

I have only one thing to say about yesterday's CDN.

Murphy!!!!!!!

Yes, I'd say that's all that was worth noting yesterday. The actor looks really well, and I always enjoyed watching him.

Other than that, oh, wait a minute, there was also the Katherine-note-from-rewrite-heaven, and crappy Colin and his sleazy associate dithering over The Emerald. I can barely remember what went on in the episode. Chloe was wearing some transcendentally hideous hairy spotted sweater thing that looked like something my dryer might have coughed up in 1976, and there was a lot of "third date" dumbass dialogue re Nick and Chelsea. Take a breath, drop your shoulders, and try to imagine my interest.

Faith gives me indigestion. I can't stand the little actress [okay, it's Lent, and I'll have to do a few decades of the rosary for that one], I'm sick of her lurking in corners in her daddy-obsessed dudgeon. Who does she think she's channelling? The late lamented Stefano Dimera?

Bleah episode.

I cannot even begin to describe how thoroughly this Jack/Gloria... thing has destroyed my interest in the show. Like I'm a balloon full of interest and this relationship is a needle, piercing my smooth skin and letting all the interest leak out. I'm as deflated as Victor's mansack.

Okay. I could take Jack and Gloria getting blitzed and having drunken fumbling sex ... once. It was amusing, surprising even, and it showcased two of the best actors on daytime television. Ever. But doubling down on this and continuing it is too much even for someone like myself who enjoys both characters and believes they deserve to be utilized to their fullest potential. There is no way in hell that Jack Abbott would continue this in any circumstance. Gloria is not someone Jack would have ever had any interest in at any point in his life in any way. I think it's pretty clear Gloria would sleep with anything if it could potentially lead to getting her hooks into someone's bank account. But this dalliance or whatever it's supposed to be has grown thin and insipid and that's after just one coy conversation. Enough is enough. What's the purpose of this? Comic relief? It worked when they were drunk. It's not working now because it. is. not. credible.

I'm right there with you. I had to explain to my husband who this guy is and provide a rationalized reason/explanation for his MIA status since his childhood. This plot point is so contrived it's been worse than if SSM had just pulled this contrived "development" out of her snatch. Just because it's something that's snatched out of a world news story doesn't mean it has relevance to this show, especially since we've only heard a few asides thrown out every couple of years by this missing guy's so-called mother about the character she's having a shitgibbon breakdown over. Note to soap writers: It's not a good idea to try to make the viewers invested in a story because a supporting character is suddenly and mysteriously being elevated to lead status after a protracted period of visible Rip Van Winkledom in plain sight for the past fifteen years over a "son" who hasn't been seen since the Clinton presidency.

The only thing I can think of why Jack would continue this is he's punishing himself for not seeing the Philly affair sooner and for misdirected self-loathing/anger about the whole Marco situation and how it affected Phyllis and how he didn't go after Victor like many felt he should have and 'failed' her. He's lashing out at everyone publicly and privately using Gloria to 'punish' himself.

HiJack not looking so bad now is it? I do wish Hilary was more involved in giving this whole arrangement the side-eye and trying to pull Jack out of this tailspin. Nikki appears to be getting that role and while I normally like Nikki and Jack friendship scenes, where Nikki is lurking, Victor is not far behind which just sets Jack up to once again look like a schmuck for Victor to giggle at.

So, where *has* Scotty been? Scott Sr was killed off in the mid-90s and he was born a year or so before ButtBiscuit but was never apart of the Billy/Mac/Brittany/Raul teen scene. I know I've never heard hoof or hair of him since Lauren and Michael got married.

LOL :p

...but yeah, I have no issue with Jack dating a woman closer to his age. I have issues with it being Gloria and him being able to be fuck buddies while both parties are sober, for all the same reasons Philly never should have been realized.

Funny, I haven't seen him [Scotty] around...

Now, to return to my speculations about Ravi-pairing. As I adjust my turban, and you cross my palm with silver, I seem to recall that I was thinking Abby. Not because I like the character, but because there's some lurking upwardly mobile thing about Ravi, and Mariah wouldn't work there. And as a waystation, I think the Phyllis thing is sort of interesting. Yes, let's leave it at interesting, and odd that GT is playing her as somewhat mellow--previous Phyllis was many things, but never mellow.

So, when Ashley takes Ravi out for dinner, what do we get? Well, first we get the highly unusual linking of Colin and Ashley in a scene, and Ashley actually delivering an intelligent putdown to Colin; i.e., no, you can't afford to make an offer to us any more, creep. Next, Abby of course just happens to show up at the world's most tired eating-place, fresh from Corporate Distress. Once Ashley leaves the table, as above, Abby basically crushes what we assume are Ravi's damp dreams. "My mother is not interested in you that way," or words to that effect.

And, Abby, you'd know this why? Is it you who took off with my crystal ball? Is it the memory of just how much you and mom enjoyed sharing Dr Doughy? Did that give you osmosis or something?

I haven't been watching this show for that long but Sharon can't emote to save her life and her weird stare at her acting partner is so distracting to me and to them I'm sure. Victor mumbles and Nicky looks dumbfounded most of the time but they have chemistry and stage presence. Sharon has neither with anybody.

LOL  love that song....used to have a "jazzercize" cassette i used to exercise to and that was one of the songs they used...knees can't take the workout anymore tho...bitch getting old..

yes, sharon is taking her life back....apparently she also told nikki she didn't need a man..

happy that sally is taking sharon in this direction...she can let chelseacon and the bonobo implode on their own....

  • Love 8

LOL  i think it's about time the writers write her that way..

BEFORE THE ASSASSINATION, she didn't need a man either.

she kicked nick to the curb cause he didn't know if he could accept cassie.

she kicked nick to the curb after busting him on his affair with phyl.

i hated how the writers used her to prop up nick's failed couplings.

anyway, sally is attempting to reverse the affects of the other writers on her...

and i for one, am happy about it.

I actually watched Y and R when bat shit drunk Katherine drove her and Phillip off a cliff.  I remember those scenes and those that followed in the hospital.

AND I REALLY DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT JILL'S 40 YEAR OLD PAIN!  It never really made sense to me that they became "friends".   So Jill just learned how it feels to be  used and abused, again.

This is why I have never been on board with the Katherine love.  She was an evil bitch.  She was Pricktor's best friend, nuff said.

It feels like Sally went back to her childhood home, found her old Barbies in the attic and is playing with them.  Lauren/Tracey - with all her limited talents - as a major story driver?  Dramatic tension in an off camera kidnapping of a character who is coming ON to the show?  Gee, the drama!  Will he survive this terrible threat?  I can't remember being so bored with this show as am now... I ff through it in about five to ten minutes.  I gather the ratings are really bad?    The next renewal announcement, assuming it follows last time, will be late April.  I saw talk of a renewal as half hour, to save money.  There sure isn't enough going on to justify an hour right now.

I cannot figure out with all those waitresses and valets in Hollywood how they can't find a decent writer for a soap.  It's not that hard.

As I've come to learn over the years, businesses rot from the top down, and Hollywood is no exception. You know why some movies come out and you wonder how the hell did *this* get made? Because someone bought the script, said script goes through revision after revision at the advice of a producer  , then gets more tweaks once they've got a big name actor involved. And sometimes, this happens even without the original writer's knowledge, as a script can be shelved for years before it's filmed.

Having the best writers in the world means nothing when one EP is stuck in the 80s and another is shilling for Philly. They need to get on the same page or else get ready to cut their losses.

It has been so long that I have forgotten how the music box story, when it first came about after Katherine's death, was resolved? Or was it just dropped? And how did the music box end up in the thrift store or was it still in Jill's possession as far as we knew?

I don't understand why the Ravi storyline keeps dragging out. He has no chemistry with either Ashley or Phyllis, even friendship wise. None. Zip. Zero. Maybe a different actor could pull it off but the current one does not, IMO.

At the moment I am only tuning in for Gloria and Colin. The rest bore me to tears.

Think Wicker Park where a cell phone would have solved EVERYTHING but it lay in development hell for Years and then they filmed it as a contemporary movie when everyone had a cell - 2 words - Period Piece. Or that JLaw movie where the hero came off as a rapey space=grunt who wakes a pretty girl 90 yrs early cause he's lonely....a problem with attitudes changing and an old script....simply solved by changing the couple's jobs.

I'd be a whole lot happier if Sharon wasn't grimacing when Nick was telling Nikki about how well his "date" with Chelsea went the night before. During that conversation she looked as if she wanted to unzip herself from her own skin and turn it inside out. The writing/directing are make it very apparent that she is NOT comfortable with Nick "moving on" without her in his love life. She can talk a big game with Nikki and anyone else she can get to listen who might care about her state of mind, but they are clearly simultaneously making it very apparent she is anything but. Faith is picking up on her discomfort and has begun to start manipulating both parents by manufacturing mini-crises to derail Nick's romance. This is straight out of the Parent Trap from the fucking '60s. I LOATHE this kind of storyline anywhere, but this has gotten so damn boring and stale between these two dipshits it's beyond obnoxious. I don't understand why SSM is so dead level steeped in doing a continual "walk down memory lane" with regurgitated crap dredged up over the past 40 years. This shit with Nick and Sharon has been done to death. I have been beaten over the head with it over and over for over twenty years with every set of showrunners and their damn hack writers. I'm sick unto death of it. It's stupid and boring as all get out. I don't get it. Just who the fuck are they trying to appeal to anyway? I don't get any of this crap that they're trying to fob off on just whoever it is they think are watching this hot mess. Did we really need Lauren being put front and center? Did the storyline that was supposed to showcase her have to be filled with so much histrionics and copious, virtually hysterical waterworks? And why Scott and not Fen? You know, Fen, the kid we've actually seen within the past five years, not the one we've only heard about in passing and remember to only think about how we've all but forgotten him. All of this and much, much more is why this is a perfect illustration of this:

No need to hold back, tell me how you really feel! ??

Man, I feel ya on Shick. The last time anything was of interest with them, I was receiving enough AOL discs to use them for coasters around the house. More importantly, we've already gotten the "Faith meddles in Nick' s love life" story within the last three years; the only difference being Sharon isn't openly encouraging her behavior this go around. Enough already....just SORAS her up already, and let her get to trapping Charlie or some other sucker into her own baby drama and stop using her to prop up Shick.

Scott has a fatwa (SP?) against him so he can't leave GC??

Did the Blunder From Down-under Kiss the guy on the mouth this time?.  How long before Cane and cute helpful girl are doing the horizontal Mombo? Or Lily as photog? If Cane doesn't tell her she's Smokin' Hot as least once an hour she'll be under hottie photog in a flash.

Did cane-daddy get a fake ring made? So he'll suddenly come up with the money while Jill moons over a love affair 42 years old AND over a nice ring from QVC. (She never knew what it looked like) And she won't get it appraised for insurance even though it cost a kazillion dollars.

Can Ester (SP?) Please stop wearing that stupid apron and stand up on her hind legs. She. Owns. Half. the. House. and has a large monthly income.

Yesterday's CDN...

No love for LilyStalker? No?

Hey, how 'bout a potential Mariah/Devon match-up? Up for it and already texting SOD?

I guess we can be grateful that Cane didn't go for some piss-drunk karaoke? Can we?

Or perhaps you all enjoyed the continued deodorizing of Billy, father of the year, and all 'round househusband?

Me neither.

What happened on Friday. I missed it or did I actually miss anything at all?

There was a bunch of stuff re Hevon's divorce, with Hil admitting to Mikey that she was playing a game when she turned down the money, in that she thought she would get Devon back. Terrible!

Some fan of Lily's got into her room and she was rescued by Jordan.  Lily couldn't reach Cane to cry on his shoulder because he was getting tanked with Juliet, except she wasn't totally shitfaced like he was. Sad!

Victoria is overwhelmed by her job and her life, so Billy is stepping up to be her personal life assistant.  She's falling for it.  Sick!

So in other words, you didn't miss anything.
