I could be wrong, but Barry's experience of time is only a relative difference to the rest of the world. I know speedsters enjoy speeding and are lured not to slow down, but running across the atlantic isn't gonna be over in a flash from their perspective. Could be tedious for a bowl of pasta. But I'm thinking back to an old strip of Justice League always making Flash do the dishes and him complaining.

Wow, I am so shock. Joe is actually going to give Iris information without anyone having to twist his arms. Someone need to touch his forehead, he might be coming down with something or maybe he is Earth 2 Joe and not our regular program Joe.

I have a feeling Iris's role won't get beefed up again until they get rid of Patty.

Iris was never beefed up even before Patty. So I'm not holding my breath that when Patty is gone, things will change. I'm sure they'll find a reason or way to sideline her from the main story.

Well, see I have assume that when Barry and Iris are actually a couple, it will be so much easier to just have her involved in everything, because there won't be extraneous love interests in the way (Eddie, Patty) to take up screentime. These other characters that are simply meant to delay are a waste of time for that reason, imo.

Candice Patton Talks Wally West, Iris’ ‘Meaty’ Family Drama :

“It’s kind of ironic that Iris of season one was so adamant that people be honest with her and stop trying to protect her, and now we see Iris having this experience of having to keep something a secret in order to protect the people she loves, so it’s taking a big toll on her, because part of her feels like a hypocrite,” Patton says. “She’s finally understanding what it feels like to keep a secret, so we’ll see how long she can actually sit on that

Funny how Candice Patton gets sent out to do interviews in spite of the fact that she's had extremely minimal screentime this season and is being completely shortchanged as a character. I hope the second half is better for her.

Maybe the interviews are a way for the writers to appease fans while they wait to give her more to do in the second half.

I really, really hope the writers do better by her in the second half.

I'm thankful that guy only has sons and not daughters. His remarks about Candice are out of order.

Well his articles about sharing movies with his kids and they're watching movies for the first time are very heartfelt and sweet. Look he admits he was wrong about Gustin at first too because he didn't see what he's capable of.  I think he's correct that the writing of Iris hasn't been great but the only reason Candice seems to be playing "one note" is she hasn't been allowed to play any others.

I'm sorry but I have never seen Candice play one note on this show. She consistently elevates the material. The "one note" criticism is such a cipher anyway, because when you break it down it means nothing - it's just a way to backhand slap the actress and get away with it.

I hope the fans drag him all over twitter and in the comments section for it.

I think some people confuse bad writing with bad acting sometimes. And acting can to a degree be subjective. What one person views as a very realistic portrayal might seem too over the top or too underplayed to another person.

I disagree with the assessment about Candice being "one note", but the writers really didn't give her a lot to work with.

You know something is wrong with the writing when a character that is supposed to come off as intelligent is given dialog that makes her seem like an airhead (and some might try to attribute this to the acting) but the actress herself comes off as much more intelligent and thoughtful than the character. I didn't like Iris at first but I really liked Candice when I heard her speaking in interviews and answering questions. I just wish the writers could tap into that more.

I liked the article other than the part about Iris.
