That was good old Paul Hill.  I find this information hilarious.  He had no problem murdering a guy but HE was afraid of dying.  What an ass.

That was my reaction, too.  I took a great deal of pleasure in knowing that his suffering went on for such a long time, too.  "The coward dies a thousand times, the hero but once," and all that.  Boy did Danny hate that guy.

Thank goodness for the Urban Dictionary.  Otherwise, I'd be lost a lot in some of these conversations.  LOL.

I'm not as hip as you,  AZC.  It never occurred to me to check the UD; I looked and looked in the forum rules.

As I said in my original post, you learn something here every day.  There's always been porn, but calling it "modeling" and pretending it's something Eileen Ford would be involved in is a whole new world.  Eventually, will all the LOL women (and why not the men, too) support themselves this way?  Don't see why not.

It's like when I got home from my same-day gallbladder surgery and my husband immediately handed me our 1 month old and toddler and started getting ready for bed. I was like WTF, and he's all, "Yeah, but YOU slept at the hospital..." Not the same dude, not the same...

Oh my god you were married to my ex?

For those who are wondering why I'm on the road during covid, I had serious medical treatment  this week in Texas and so we drove from Seattle to Houston for the procedure.  We've been super careful on the way and do a VERY deep cleaning of every hotel room before we even unpack and we always wear our masks when not in the car.   So please don't think we aren't taking this seriously . . . we're travelling out of medical necessity.

Wow, FB, you really didn't need a layer of covid-19 to battle through on top of everything else.  Seattle to Houston is no Sunday jaunt in the park--good for you for finding a way to make it all happen.

Thank you candall, Coltee Gal, Ooogle Eyes, and all of you lovely snarkers!   The procedure went well and I'm confident that I'm now cancer free.  It's been a struggle to get here, but we made it happen.  It will be a more relaxing trip going back, so we're stopping in Roswell and taking in Route 66 and maybe Donner Pass in N. California (but I'll watch out for snow so we don't have to resort to cannibalism).

Oh geez, stay safe!  I know it sucks and I wish you speedy recovery.  And real talk, we are all taught to be nice, but if you need to be an asshole to stay safe, be an asshole.

Also, find a good podcast or audio book!  It helps me so much on long drives and there are so many great topics.  There are certainly entertaining podcasts about this show!

Oh, please...do Donner Pass and let us know if you see any bones....human, that is.

Or Martin Milner OR any kicks.

Sorry for all of the instructions, but that's what I would do, along with singing that song during the entire drive. My family still hates me to this day. Sillies.

Don't be me.

I'd bet ya a dollar they haven't been on the receiving end of  a "covid layoff" in the numbers of people like me with advanced degrees.

I'm sorry.  I hope you're okay.

I know this is going to sound assholey (something assholes always preface with LOL) but when I was off work for a fairly serious medical condition it was almost a nice break and reset.  I took it one day at a time.  I didnt worry about tomorrow because there wasn't much I could do about it.

Youre out of work now but eventually you'll get a other job.

If you weren't in love with your job then you have a break on your resume at the right time when its expected because of the economy.

I know there are a lot of financial pressures  for people so in that way what I'm saying can sound condescending.

But you may come out the other side with a job you really love

Thanks RealReality! Never been laid off before and the state Unemployment ride has been quite the education. States should be ashamed. Received a letter yesterday saying the state is stopping my unemployment in a few weeks and I could contact Information and Referral if I need help with food, rent, utilities. Sweet of them.  I am taking classes to receive a Microsoft Office Suite certification so I have something positive to comeout of this madness. I am a glass half full, so am optimistic for the future. . . as long as I stay on this forum on not venture into any news. Enjoy your posts.

I'm so sorry, but attitude determines altitude as they say and so I'm sure you are going to get the position you want!

It sucks, in that I think that states are so overwhelmed that they may be hoping to pass the buck to buy some time.  I hope that if you need the help you take it and take it early.

Back in the 08's I believe, some people just kinda rode out unemployment because it gave them a chance to regroup and no one looked twice at a resume with a giant employment hole.  Some of the more.....well funded....took long vacations.  If you've ever wanted to do something but been held back from work....maybe think about it, if you're able to.  And always feel free to vent if you need to, its stressful!

I am currently teaching a technical-adjacent bootcamp.  Several of the students are either dealing with or concerned about covid layoffs and choosing to update skills / get more letters after their names.  🙂  If you can do it this, it's a way to get something positive out of the time.  Every week I remind them they are rockstars for making this commitment to learning, especially during stressful times.

OMG can I just come here and vent to you all some real drama going on in my life that I am keeping to myself right now because I don't know if or who I can trust with this

This is so crazy but my brother started seeing my ex sister in law a few months ago on the sly then this week my brother in law (her husband) died unexpectedly. My brother was actually friends with the deceased and my husband and attended the funeral and everything. My husband and his family don't know about the relationship and I think it's all so messy. Damn

First, sincere condolences for the loss of your brother-in-law. Death and funerals and sadness are never easy, especially during the pandemic.

Second, is it wrong that I feel like your brother and your ex-sister-in-law have a better chance of making their relationship work more than these Love After Lockup idiots?

(I hope my snark does not offend, just trying to lighten things up a bit.)

Well my brother nor one time sister in law have ever been in prison that I'm aware of,  so maybe. But knowing my brothers stats it doesn't bode well. He seems to like the chase and the more salacious the better. He can get 'em but he doesn't keep 'em very long. He met his last wife and broke her marriage up and I think they were married to each other only a couple of years and aren't divorced yet.

Some folks are just messy, they can't help themselves

Happy New Year to our wonderful lockup lovers!  May 2021 bring you joy, happiness and good health.  Onward we go into a new year and a new beginning.  Let the snark flow freely and joyful abundance fill your worlds.

Woke up to an "e-card" for New Year's from a friend.

Instead of "Auld Lang Syne" playing as the calendar clicked over from 2020 to 2021, it played the "Hallelujah Chorus."

Yeah . . . sounds about right.

Bless you all with a REALLY new New Year.

So I post the new year's greeting above, finish watching a TV show, and go to bed.  Just about fall asleep when there is commotion right outside my window.  Six police officers trying to get a man to stand up and come to their car.  He is trying to hide in my driveway (my bedroom is above the garage).  I go outside to learn that the man was running from them and tried to hide there.  The driveway does slope down considerably and there is a large vine next to it he might have thought would cover him.

OK, so weird start to the year.  I figure they'll be out of there soon.  Nope.  I finally fell asleep at 3:30 AM.  There were still two cops there with the man.  They were trying to be quiet, but at one point a supervisor came up and shined his spotlight on the driveway.  You know what you don't want when nodding off? A really bright light shining in the window. I will be looking for better window coverings.  Happy 2021!  And here I was thinking I wouldn't see any perps until tonight. 😁

Are you going to write to him in prison? That could be your future husband.

The next season is expected to premiere in June 2021.  They want to make sure we really miss it before it comes back.  😁

That's the way to do it. I am so over-saturated with 90 Day, I'm taking an enforced hiatus for my mental health.

Hey peeps, I won’t be able to join you all for live chat this week—I’m in NY attending a wedding, not likely to be back at the hotel in time. I’ll be with you in spirit! See you next week!

Where the hell are your priorities?!? 😉

And here I thought that you had OD’d on bonbons and streaming tv shows, what with your recent retirement and all. Don’t forget to get a note signed by the bride and groom or we’ll have to give you a detention for your absence. And @Scout Finch is right—PRIORITIES PEOPLE!!

In the meantime, enjoy your weekend in NY. And may the Red Sox keep winning so you can laud it over the NY contingent at the wedding.

The wedding was lovely, and a splendid time was had by all. The only issue was that for some reason my husband and I were seated two tables away from my son and his friends. Guess they thought we olds should all sit together. Not my favorite. I'm watching Friday's ep right now and will be checking in to the thread!

I can't wait for tonight's episode! It's been a crappy week on multiple levels, including the intense heat here in CT (it's August, it's CT, I know I know, it's summer - but it's freakin' hot!) so i need some silly relief tonight. Also, it makes my ridiculous love life (or lack thereof) seem like I've really got my act together compared to these clowns.

Will triy to join the live chat! And, like so many others have said -- why can't LAL be 2 hours????/

I’ll be there to (hopefully) entertain you.

I gave up on a love life years ago because I decided having to compromise and make decisions by committee just wasn’t going to work for me. Years ago, my (now ex) husband used to ask me if I’d ever get remarried if something happened to him and my response was always “After being married to you, how could I even consider such a thing?” 😂 He took it as a compliment because he was such a fucking narcissist.

I drove through a blizzard to get back to the hotel for the last half of the show and it isn’t even on. I could barely make out the highway exit signs. Guess I should have checked my local listings, not that it would have changed anything anyway, but.....The hotel doesn’t even have WETV, but I was going to watch on my phone and snark on my iPad. Miss you all like crazy, but not crazy enough to get a face tattoo.
