Total, supposition on my part, but I would think they flipped at Jenna because of the circumstances under which she asked about point, not because she asked about point. Given what we saw on tv, she asked it too soon, asked the wrong person, and did it while K & J were out of town. Just looking at it in general from the outside in, no big deal. But being in the middle of the situation, caught up in the emotions, they probably felt like it was a slap in the face -- similar to a parent punishing a teenager --you are grounded and supposed to be thinking about what you did wrong & repenting, not thinking about yourself and waiting until we ("mom") leave town to go behind our backs to ask Shelly ("dad").

That likely was the case. If anything though, I don't think its about looking at it generally from the outside, but it goes back to the other point that the DCCs are not a real, professional environment. Take Jenna out of it because I feel she's a lightening rod on this board and substitute anyone. The fact that their actions are analogous to a parent-child relationship is itself problematic. That's not their role. Beyond that, an employee really should not have to ask about their status. That should be made clear when a suspension is handed down (outside of situations where a suspension is due to a pending investigation, and then it should made clear as soon as possible afterwards). Ambiguous, open-ended, "you're punished until we say you're not" or "you're punished until you show sufficient remorse" situations may work for parents or may even work in college/high school coach-player relationships, but it doesn't make for a good situation in a workplace. Kelli is lucky that so many people covet being a DCC  and that a high level of turnover is natural. If she ever has to transition into a managerial role where she has permanent employees without the "yes mam" culture, she is going to need to make some major changes in the way she operates.

ETA: I should make it clear that I don't think they want to be like a real work place. I think they are perfectly fine and happy to kind of be in that gray area where they do what they want and don't really have to worry about real HR issues. And ultimately, the girls know the deal after they've been there for a year. It's not a job that pays the bills, so people are always free to leave with few reservations.

Is it just me (non-dancer) or is Savannah slightly behind the beat in this dance too?

I don't see it her both Lexie and Alexis miss a move here but she does alright. The thing that really struck me here is how small she is , she makes the other three girls look like giants.I thought she was average height?

THIS. Plus Jenna acted like point was hers and she was just waiting on when it was going to be given back - like when you're in high school and grounded from driving for a month but know your parents aren't going to sell that car they spent $$$$ on. Except JEnna is a grown ass woman in her 20s.

That’s just what I was about to ask - has anyone heard who is planning on retiring?

Just the obvious. Jinelle, Jenna. Good chance with Simone and Khalyn (cue the sobbing) bc of injury. Speculation on Stephanie and Tasha bc both are a little older and fought weight gain, but I've heard Tasha wants one more year so she can be an All Star, although they've taken one or two 2 years as All Stars.

As for fighting weight, JESSICA and Rachel, shewwwww.

Selina says shes reauditioning. One of the NY girls, can't remember which, possibly. Possibly Amy L w/getting married and running a business.

Kashara and Lacey are the two who make me go HMMMMMM. If Kashara goes to All Stars, I predict Lacey stays, but Lacey says she's 50/50. If Kash stays hard to tell about Lacey.

Cersten is not going anywhere. Keyra confirmed on that podcast she was reauditioning.  I wonder about Christina.

So many were cut or quit I doubt many retire and doubt many are cut unless audition turnout is horrific next year.

YES. She does alright. That Mean Girls dance was a spur of the moment, hahaha let's be cute, dance that meant NOTHING except a little fun in the locker room. Of somebody was 'off', who cares? Not a performance, probably rehearsed 2 whole times, and just for fun.

One more about Lacey not 'wanting' point. She never made a sign and stood up and said "I Do Not Want Point" and she didn't hide in the closet and cry when they were testing girls for point. From what we can all see, she's a solid talent and gorgeous. I love her look, and think she may have the best hair on the team.

Anyway.......from what I heard, EVERYBODY thought it was going to be between Erica (risk factor = chronic injury) or Jenna (risk factor = fraternizing and big scar), and then Holly really pushed for it (Kelly and Charlotte fave and male fan fave, but fights weight and fraternizing). Those three duking it out and the 'tradition' of having a triangle with a blond, brunette, and 'exotic' (redhead, black girl, something not white and blonde/brunette), Lacey just did her thing. She didn't hide or say NO, NEVER, she just didn't jump in the Battle Royale.

Watch some of the prep clips from this spring and summer before the cuts. Those three almost knock each other over as to who is in front or at a point, even in small groups. It's entertaining.

Then two of those were gone and Jenna pulled back, and they pick KASHARA? Nothing against Kashara myself. She works hard, is cute, entertaining, reliable, has no fear and I think does fine at point. I like that she has some firm curves and is so damn approachable. I think she is like JInelle, and could make friends with a tree stump if you give her five minutes, whereas Lacey is a little more reserved.

If nothing else Kashara definitely shook things up at point and showed everybody Kelli and Judy can do what they want, and it all works out fine. Seniority and technical training aren't automatic roads to point.

Holly was fake as hell, and Erica had a touch of that Regina George, where you couldn't tell if she was talking down or making fun of you until five minutes after you'd walked away. Jenna is so scripted now, I can't tell if she is just so wrapped up in DCC that she doesn't know how to not sound that way, or if she really buys all the BS. Jenna is going to be an interesting one to watch and see if she flips her lid when all this is gone.  If I had to pick one of the three for point, Erica takes the best pics, but Jenna would be the best ambassador.

Ok thanks. That makes sense. It kind of seemed like before that she had stated that she didn't want to be considered for point (like how some girls ask not be considered for show group). That seemed odd to me that she or anyone would do that. However, I totally get the scenario laid out above. While I think you would see similar complaints as you do for Kashara on the board if Jenna, Erica, or Holly were point if all 3 girls were on the team (you can never please everyone), I don't think you would see the "Lacey for point" arguments at all. I think that is purely a result of Erica/Holly being dismissed and Jenna being removed from the position. Lacey wasn't really on the radar before any of the drama occurred, and I can see how that was the case from her point of view as well.

When will retiring cheerleaders be announced? I presumed there’d be some Instagram posts after Christmas eve’s game being their last home game, but there wasn’t. Do they have many more DCC commitments this year past Home games that the girls are waiting for to announce retirement?

Kelli & Judy don't make an "official" announcement. Some of the girls will post it on their social media they're retiring.

They do, or at least have done previously, not K and J but the DCC social media’s. They’ve done collages in the past and did video goodbyes for each girl last year, alongside letters on the website.

Who I want to/predict will retire:

Jenna (humiliated)

Jinelle (5 years is a long time)

KaShara (there’s nothing more to aim for- GL/SG/PB/Point)

Simone (marriage and weight)

Selina (unattractive and unimpressive)

Tasha (weight)

Christina (predictable vet cut)

Savannah (predictable vet cut)

I’d love to see Stephanie and Chantel stay next year to take on some leadership roles.

Girls don't have to say to manaegment if they're retiring until closer to end of year banquet. Girls pretty much announce themselves when they're retiring. Sometimes DCC has them do a goodbye post or video, but not always.

Any idea when the banquet is?

I think the girls who are retiring have to tell Kelli and Judy before the end of the year banquet due to the calendar shoot fittings and the actual calendar shoot. Of course girls can change their minds about retiring before the calendar shoot, but they are not allowed to go on the calendar shoot.

Didn't Angela not go on the calendar shoot and then change her mind about auditioning again?

Maybe, or auditioning for a seventh season in hopes to redeem herself for what happened this past summer. I know it's a stretch, but I don't want Jenna to leave the squad on bad terms.

I think she was going to retire after her fourth season, but she changed her mind, but she was not allowed to go on the calendar shoot. Melissa the Mentor was going to retire, change her mind, but she was not allowed to go on the shoot, but she did not try out again.

Hi long time lurker, first time poster.

not surprised about Kash getting PB, i think it was always going to be between her and Jinelle.

If Jenna, Kash and Jinelle leave next year, do the 2nd group leaders automatically become group leader? I could see Maggie becoming a 2nd group leader, but can’t really think of any others at the moment

It’s never really a guarantee, but with lack of more senior veterans highly likely for next year since they’re already in some form of leadership position.

I think she’s more on neutral terms than bad, but the welcome is worn out. Personally, I think she’d look desperate to not move on. They’re not going to put her at point or send her to Pro Bowl, so why not just move on? Mavs would be a fun transition for her.

Nothing is automatic. Sometimes girls with seniority just have a lot of outside responsibilities and could’ve lead if they want to, and jobs, etc. change. I could see them bumping Maggie to a group leader if three of them retire.

Regarding second leaders- I’d like to see Maggie, Steph, Chantel and maybe Cersten

I don’t see any one group being stacked like Group 1 was this year.

I think all the rookies will reaudition and make it. Any word on how Christina’s year has gone? I’m still not completely sold.

I think Selina would make it again if she auditioned next year. Something tells me the amount of girls leaving/potentially leaving for other reasons would incline them to keep a few more veterans than they should. I don’t think she’s a bad dancer by any means, she’s just never stood out to me.

I don't think of it as a real workplace either, but I think you could come up with an analogy for a real work environment as well. Let's say a guy gets in trouble for sexual harassment or something equally as stupid that's not job performance related, and then turns around and askd if he still going to be lead on the next project, employee of the year, etc. It's not going to go over well in whatever environment you are in.

I think Keyra, Christina and Savannah may be on the chopping block at tryouts. Selina may be on the chopping block too. This season Raylee was cut for no rhyme or reason aka Charlotte's what did she do to save her spot on the team, so two and three year girls can be cut just as one year girls can.

I was wrong. It was Rose and Selina who made the mistakes with the JFK quote. I think the reason why Keyra made the team was the fact Kelli, Miss Kitty, and Charlotte like her. Kelli did make the comment about her thighs during the cameo photo shoot. Finalist Lacey was not brought into TC because the judges thought her thighs looked too big, and to be honest about it, I thought Lacey danced and looked better than Keyra does. Grace Lee Sells and Katie S. were smaller framed and better dancers, but they were cut because they were considered too big or big in the behind in the uniform, but Keyra looked big in the thighs and behind, and she still made the team. I would like to know what she had over Raylee and Heather to make the team over two vets especially when Heather was considered to be a power house her rookie year.

Regarding derrieres, they are not all created equal. Shape, fat distribution,  underlying musculature, etc. all factor in, as well as,  size.

People are literally paying good money to have a butt like Keyra's. I actively applaud different body types on the team. Go Kelly!

Keyra has several things going for her those other girls didn't. She went to the right University. Danced on the right dance team in college. Had the right college coach, who is a guest choreographer for the DCC. Her best friend is a favorite of Kelly and Judy. Kitty appears to really love her. And she went to DCC functions with Cersten all last year. The girl was the definition of connected.

Like they say, it's who you know.

I tend to agree. She's already tried out 5x, and finally got in. She knows she has squeaked by, and nearly got cut throughout training camp. Why risk not making it again, and becoming that girl who tried out 6x and was rejected for 5 of them.

On the other hand, maybe she will try out again just to prove everyone wrong and cement her status as being worthy of the team and not a one-year "fluke". I would be surprised though... stamina was one of her biggest issues in TC, and judging from the comments by those who have attended the games it still remains an issue.
