I saw some sort of fire safety (wildfire safety?) PSA featuring Joanie Dodds as the spokesperson.  I can't for the life of me find it online, but I was really surprised in my searching to see she'd cohosted (and served as carpenter on) a couple of seasons of DIY Network's "Run My Renovation."  

Speaking of teeth, eh?  Tyra made her sit through all that grueling dental work.  It'd be nice if she (Tyra) kicked in something for Amanda's implant!  (About to have my second implant placed early next year.  No fun, for the jaw or the wallet!)

Former America's Next Top Model finalist Renee Alway sentenced to 12 years in prison for armed burglary, fraud and drug possession

 

-Renee Diane Alway, 28, pleaded guilty to four felony burglary counts and one count each of vehicle theft and being a felon in possession of a firearm

-The ANTM finalist was arrested on June 28 in 2013 for investigation of burglary, fraud, narcotics possession, and committing a felony while on bail
- Alway shaved her head for her court appearance last year and told her sister it was because she wanted to 'start over'

- Alway finished in the top three of Cycle 8 of 'Top Model,' which aired in 2007

I met Angelea last week. She was in a liquor store doing some promotion for a spiced rum. She is so pretty in person, and nice, and normal seeming. She let me geek out for a while, took a bunch of pictures with me, and even gave me her cell phone number and told me to text her. She also told me some AWESOME gossip about one of last cycle's contestants hooking up with Russell Simmons and then blowing him off afterwards.
She also talked about the lawsuit somewhat. I sort of coaxed it out of her by saying: "I cannot believe they refilmed the finale because you were an escort". All in all we talked for about twenty minutes, and then, after I left, a few hours later she texted me and said I made her night. She was just so cool and its a shame that didn't come across on the show too much.

Also, Renee has never looked better.

Poor Renee. She looks rough in that photo. I wouldn't have recognized her at all! Hopefully she picks herself up on her feet for the sake of her child. I think cycle 8 has the most troubled contestants, as both Renee and Jael have made news recently for the wrong reasons. The only other hamster I think has been in the tabloids was C9 Bianca who fought with the "Hairspray" actress at some airport.

So Angelea turned a trick or two, that's the reason for all the mystery?   Pfft.  Big deal,  she was on the show twice, so why didn't  they dig it up before her second appearance?    Also, who cares?   I'd wager there are a lot of starving model wannabees who may have traded some play for the rent money.   Not everyone had their Mommy to manage their career and  go home to.

 

Isn't Rene the one who wanted to win that ugly bracelet which was a challenge prize so she could hock it to provide for her family?   Damn, no wonder she was so upset at losing.    She really did need the money badly.     But honey, you could have learned to work a pole instead of getting into a life of crime, or gotten a 75k per year job selling cable packages.    Those photos are brutal.

I never really liked Renee because she always seemed desperate and seemed to have entitlement issues during her season, but day-um.  She really focked up big time by going into a life of crime.  With four felonies, she just closed herself off from a LOT of promising careers. especially in the medical fields.

 

Just finished watching Cycle 6 and still didn't really like Jade.  She might be a really cool girl and pretty, but I didn't like her attitude at ALL during her cycle.  She seemed too caught up in her own legend and promotion during her run.  She certainly might have played it up to stay on the show, but she reeked arrogance instead of confidence.

 

Now, with Angelea, if she didn't get arrested for anything related to being an escort, it most likely won't come up on a background check and I don't think the show bothers with checking a hamster's financial record so, if Angelea didn't disclose it until the very end (which is very likely), then the producers wouldn't have known about it.  If she realized (or had been told) she was going to win around the time of the fashion show, she probably said something to somebody at that point, who then went to tell the PTB who then had to scramble.  When they showed Angelea being sick at the end, she might have realized that she had messed up, but not what was going to happen.  After all, if there was any legal issues, especially with the sponsors, then that would all have to be dealt with before a new winner was crowned, thus the delay between the actual finale (and I would love to see the video for that!) and the one that was aired.  Poor Allison.  She should have won BOTH the seasons she was in, not Teyona and not Lisa.

Joanie is my favorite contestant of all..

Me, too! She was essentially the perfect ANTM contestant: relatable, funny, from a humble background, passionate about modeling, and able to turn out a signature walk. Her portfolio is one of my favorites in the history of the show; she really knows how to emote in front of the camera.

 

I know why they probably chose Danielle (taller, younger, more modern looking), and I'm not mad about it because she seemed sweet and has done pretty well post-show. But if it were really all about who performed best during the competition, there's no way Joanie could have lost.

She seemed to meander the whole time when responding to the reporter's questions.  At times she seemed to take responsibility for her actions, but she had other moments in the interview where she seemed more disingenuous, so everything could have been an act as far as we know.  But I do sincerely hope she uses the time she's incarcerated to do a lot of soul-searching and reflection and emerges as someone who won't be incarcerated again.  

 

She did mention that Top Model eliminees got a 5-10 minute phone therapy session after their elimination, but she claims that she was never contacted by Tyra or any other show staff member after her season or after Modelville (though she did show up on various red carpets promoting the show, so that can't be entirely true).

AzMarie, from the British Invasion cycle, is on the new Fox show on Empire. She plays the youngest rapper son's DJ. I was like, "Is that?" and the answer is yes, it is. 

lmaoooo. Is that true?!?! 

I can't believe you really had me on IMDB checking that out. 

 

EDIT: IMDB says her name is Chicken on the show. I don't watch, so I don't know if that's the same person.

Yeah, Chicken. I can't remember if the name has actually been said on the show, but yes. Chicken.

 

I also don't know if Chicken is meant to be male or female. I know AzMarie plays with gender identity a little bit (and is a lesbian in real life) but the youngest son (Hakeem)'s crew is all guys and there is no reference at all about Chicken being different from that. I just know something's up cause I know it's AzMarie. 

 

And it's not like LGBT issues aren't talk about on the show- the middle son being gay is a big topic on the show and the R & B Rhianna type the younger son is into is bi. That revelation was a big thing for Hakeem in the show. Chicken is just this not discussed presence. 

 

Also, in other modelling news, Hakeem's much older secret girlfriend is played by....Naomi Campbell.

Yaya DaCosta Cast as Chicago Med Nurse — and Fire Love Interest

 

Chicago Fire has tapped former America’s Next Top Model contestant Yaya DaCosta — who recently starred as Whitney Houston in Lifetime’s biopic — to play Maggie Seaver, an old acquaintance of the firefighter and a nurse who’ll be a central character at potential spinoff Chicago Med, our sister site Deadline reports.

 

DaCosta — whose TV credits include guest spots on Ugly Betty, Unforgettable and House — will appear in Episode 19 of Chicago Fire, which will serve as a planted pilot for the franchise’s medical offshoot.

Wow, Angelea is still delusional.  If conditions were so bad, why did you go back for a second season?  And if people think that you're ghetto that's not really Tyra's fault, is it?  I do love the pictures of her in that article... those glasses and that nasty dress!!!  And you just know that she thinks she looks high class!  Sad.

Analeigh's on CBS' "Limitless" tv show tonight, airing 10 PST/9 CST. Epi description: In "The Legend Of Marcos Ramos," Brian helps Agents Harris and Boyle investigate the murder of a retired FBI agent. They'll be shocked by a link to the elusive head of a notorious drug cartel. Also, Brian reconnects with an old flame, Shauna (Analeigh), but worries her renewed interest is really in the NZT version of him.

C11 Analeigh has several movies that should be coming out this year:  Golden Exits; a drama (which opened 23 Jan and was shown at Sundance where she attended), Monumental; an action/comedy with Jeremy Irons and Maria Bello, Little Star, a thriller with Tyler Labine, All Nighter, a comedy; with J.K. Simmons and Emile Hirsch, and The Long Home, a drama with Josh Hartnett, Ashton Kutcher, Giancarlo Esposito and James Franco who also directs.
