There are tons of pictures of her and Jacques and there are tons of pictures of her and Tom...none of the Count.

 

All this. Lu is extremely careful about what she says about Alex while on camera. I wonder, tho, what she says when the cameras are gone. Back in S2 (I think) Lu and a few friends were at a Hamptons Horse Show in which Victoria was riding. Alex was a no-show. Lu ( quite stridently, too) chewed him out over the phone for not being there. Right before the segment ended, as she and her friend were walking away, the mic picked up Lu saying, "You're divorced -- you lucky bitch."

Maybe Tom uses all that to his advantage in the "you are a cheater too!!" kind of way.  Maybe he thinks they are cut out of the same cloth.  If they were only dating then I guess that could be a good strategy but now that they are married all bets are off.  Adultery is worse than plain old cheating.

As a striking brunette with sass and panache she is very much in the Ava Gardner mold. Now if you said she was no Marilyn Monroe or Vivien Leigh then I would agree 100%.

The main reason these bims are attacking her marriage is not because they are "concerned" for her. They are all over her because they are jealous of her. It is as obvious as the surgically repaired noses on their botoxed faces.

Exactly. Which is one of the big problems the women have with her. She enjoys the company of men much more than women.  She displayed her pompous Countess side on TV but was  the ballsy fun Lu off camera. It drove  them crazy.

As someone said up thread......Luann seems content with her little motorboat  flying through Peconic Bay off of Shelter Island with the wind in her hair with her daughter and her friends instead of fantasizing about yachts with P Diddy or being one of the bimbos on some rich perverts yacht like Bethenny.

I think the key is that Luann knows who she is and is content with it. Ramona and Sonja don't have a clue and have no self-awareness. Bethenny also knows who she is and that's why she is miserable. The only one who is as self aware as Luann is Dorinda which is why they seem to  be able to be friends.

Well, I just confused Ron Perelman for Barry Diller. Perhaps Lu, Sonja, and Ramona did the same. He has his penthouse, but someone here figured out how much it was worth and it wasn't a ton. Everything about him reads as comfortable, but not a ton of money. I suspect that Lu might have more money than him. I suspect that Tom might be in demand because he appears to date women who are age appropriate. I remember reading that during that nonsense in season 6(?) with Harry, Sonja and LuAnn, Harry was actually dating a 23 year old.

I believe Ramona is angry that Luann changed the dynamic-again.  Luann was married Luann, then bad marriage Luann, then single but with Jacques, we had single  Luann and then engaged Luann and Ramona expected to be remarried in two years-that would in about two weeks since she made the prediction in July of 2015.  Ramona came back last year and all she could do is knock Luann and Sonja their drinking and supposed carousing.  When in reality Luann settled down with Tom about a month into the season.  http://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/ramona-singer-marriage-moving-on-62742

I wonder if Lu did indeed keep bringing up the marriage thing, again and again and again. So finally Tom caved. Maybe he knew it would also make his mom really happy. But deep down (maybe not so deep), he resents it. Hence, all those HILARIOUS jokes about collars and hall passes.

But knowing how much everyone is scrutinizing his behavior and actions, he should either refrain from trying to make jokes or stop speaking on camera completely.

I agree about the straight hair.  There is not a shortage of Tinsley photos on the internet, it seems she does not always have the barrel curls or the stringy straight look.

Carole's lunch reminded me of an episode of "Roseanne", where Roseanne tells her sister's baby daddy to shave his goatee as it bothers her sister.  Roseanne tells her sister and she said, "I don't mind the goatee," and Roseanne responds with, "I do."  I like to think of Carole as being a bit deeper and I do think she is confusing "re-entry" with "re-inventing".  It is interesting because Tinsley Mortimer soared to popularity as the "it" girl before people started referring themselves as a brand. 

Carole seems to be the one to spend productive time with Tinsley first the apartment hunting and then a double date.  I am guessing Carole finds something deeper in Tinsley than say Ramona and Sonja.  She just comes in a very frilly package.

I think Carole is befriending Tinsley and making nice with Dorinda because last year's mean girl will have no one to film with next season if/when Bethenny leaves.  She's trying to rehab her image plain and simple, the true Carole came out when she was snarking on Anne Hathaway.  We've seen her on camera on her "best" behavior so I can only imagine how bitchy she is off camera.

I think Tom's remark that his wedding ring was like a dog collar is the kind of thing a person that's playing to his audience says.  Clearly he wasn't going to gush about his marriage to his jilted ex girlfriend.  A slightly disparaging remark went over just fine and may have made her feel a teensy bit better.  Luann may not feel so good about the remark when she sees it but she's seems to be used to glossing over Tom's "faux pas".   It'll be interesting to see how things go with Luanne and Tom in their mysterious relationship.

To me Luanne consistently looks the best of all the women on the show right now including Tinsley who's significantly younger than she is..  Kind of like LVP, Luanne has probably had stuff down to her face but it's not obvious and she still looks very natural.  She has great skin and hair and she keeps herself in shape so she looks good in clothes.

I had the ill fortune to work around a real ess-for-brains guy who divorced his wife and grandiosely announced that henceforth, his life would be the carefree, sex-sated bachelor who had a different partner every night, one more byoo-tee-full than the next!

He was ugly as sin but that was partly his personality. He did have a quick wit and for his part of town, a good job and lots of money.

His swinging bachelorhood lasted about 2 months.  He confessed to the mentor we happened to share (and who couldn't wait to clue me in) that he wasn't getting lucky one-tenth as often as he'd expected and that the nightly bar scene quickly grew as boring - and way more expensive - than night after night at home on a comfy sofa in front of a tv he controlled.

Within another 6 months he was married and an expectant father and acted as though he was the only guy cool enough in the history of the world to acquire a glamorous* wife & child. (*More glamorous and younger than his first wife.)

Of course I can't extrapolate that to men at large but this guy was only in his late 30s. Tom's 50, he's got a business to run and a woman who's not only gorgeous but wealthy and really into him; she brings along a couple of handsome, friendly grown kids and a contact list that rivals his own. 

Why wouldn't he be more than ready for marriage? Sorry for the length of this discourse! I just find it amusing/flabbergasting that we (as a culture) still have the idea that marriage for women is GOOD and marriage for men is a compendium of LOSS and ball-&-chain jokes.

The subtle,  because Carole doesn't do big emotions,  she's too cool, tension between the two is the most interesting her storyline has been in years.

It is pretty indicative of what is going on that the women who are trashing Tom and Luann's marriage the most are the ones who were miserable failures at it. Bethenny and Ramona. Dorinda had a good second marriage and is supportive and on board for the whole thing. Carol is as supportive as she can be without offending her host body Bethenny.  Sonja is too addled to understand what is going on and Tinsley's curls are two tight so she is distracted.

Getting married was the best thing I ever did. Marrying the postmasters daughter means I always get my mail on time.

Leave those crazy kids alone.

If Luann were to talk about Mynamar or a Fulbright award-which happened during the marriage the others would be blowing raspberries.  It was bad enough she was a Countess but imagine if underneath the titles there was actually good deeds being done.  Luann is accepting of John, she was hung out to dry by her good friend Dorinda, who quite frankly I would have expected her to tell Bethenny to get the hell out of my house after her unleashing on her friend Luann.  Dorinda may be the only one holding Sonja to task this year and I don't see Luann taking a side.  Not because she is not a good friend but because there is no upside to defending Sonja. 

I think Luann saved the Mario comment for the Reunion  She did answer Ramona's question about which properties to keep.  This is of course after "The Apologizer" had told Luann she felt bad about discounting her marriage.  Luann can be both pragmatic and a hopeless romantic.  Odd combination.  One thing is for certain when Luann saw the end of her first marriage she dug in and found a career in RHONYC.  Sonja I don't think was ever happy to be with the old fart she married.  She sees RHONYC as a step down instead of her independence. 

Very interesting. I've written LuAnne off because she so often comes across as a narcissist to Ramona levels,  and her obsession with all things wedding did not help,  but I see your awkward analysis and she is there in her limited way.
