Yikes, today was ugly. Wendy seemed especially snippy and demanding with poor Kevin, who looked terrified of losing his job as he flailed to please her while frantically agreeing with everything she said.

He looks really unhappy lately. Like he is completely over her but knows he has to keep his mouth shut or be without a job. That's a shitty place to be. Frankly, Suzanne doesn't seem to be all that thrilled this season, either.

I kind of enjoyed Keke Palmer yesterday.  It was fun to watch her tell Wendy she was dead wrong to her face.  And then have Wendy double down on her opinion.  Yet the two remained friendly.  I don't think I'll be rushing out to buy Keke's book or anything, and she seems a bit extra, but I see a bit of a kindred spirit in Keke to Wendy.

Didn't Wendy used to have Fridays off?  Maybe the extra show a week is wearing her down.

I think she still has Fridays off,  she tapes two shows on Thursday. You will notice that if there is a big news topic on Thursday after the show, she doesn't talk about it on the Friday show. Dead giveaway.  She said yesterday that the show was her dream job so I don't know why she's being so sloppy with it.

The episode today that I watched: Wendy had Dr. Phil as her guest. She showed a brief video of a segment of one of Dr. Phil's episodes with the young woman who thought that Eminem was her father and Dr. Phil was her ??

Well, most of Wendy's "cohosts" laughed when they saw the video. So did I. Wendy got all self righteous saying something about  "I don't think there's anything funny about this. Why are you laughing?'' ( Um maybe Suzanne is taunting the co hosts to laugh?) I'm laughing Wendy, because although it is sad that this young girl has this mental problem... i thought it was funny and so did almost every damn person in your audience. Wendy is such a hypocrite. If Dr. Phil had not been her guest she would have shown that video clip to everyone and laughed right along with us.

Her damn wigs must be squeezing her brain so tight that she has no brain cells left.  But I watch her show and probably always will. I enjoy celebrities taking a fall from grace now and then and I also like to laugh at the stupid shit that these arrogant pompous celebs do on a daily basis.

And her telling her hot topics crew to dig up dirt on Trump's kid with Marla Maples was met with silence. Then in the Hot Topic Panel segment she totally threw yesterday's guest, Milla Jovovich, under the bus about her choice to do communal sleep arrangements with her kids. (Agree or not, I thought Milla did an adequate job of explaining that she was brought up in a country where it is very common for a whole family to sleep in one room and that being so busy sometimes that is their only quality time.) In any case, Wendy would probably do well not to alienate the few actual movie stars still willing to do her show!

Do you mean Brendan, Suzanne's husband?

I wonder what Wendy does with all that delicious food that the guest chefs prepare. Like today she had Richard Blaise on and I know Wendy doesn't eat meat anymore. I would hope she gives some of it to her "co hosts". Or maybe she takes it home for her dog (I don't mean Big Kevin, I mean the real dog!-  does she still have him??

rcc, I mean the hot topics guy, I thought his name was Kevin.

She also admonished Suzanne today about something. Told her to "stop it and be serious" but I can't remember what it was. I'm no Suzanne fan, but you could just see Suzanne trying to read her mind. She already puts on a dog and pony show trying to please Wendy and she's still not happy!

He's the new hot topics guy? Thanks.

How fucking dare Wendy criticize Paris Jackson being on the cover of Rolling Stone and her legitimacy as a celebrity & being interviewed?

She sounds jealous and second basically reiterated Paris' comments as her own scoops. Ugh if you think she has no reason to be there or  speaking out ....don't claim her views or insights as some shit you dug up.

I for one agree with her here.  What *has* Paris done besides be Michael Jackson's daughter...allegedly.  I still don't think he supplied any DNA for her...but regardless he's her father.  As I see it Wendy's point was two fold....interview Paris inside, fine...but don't give her the cover.  And I think she also had a point in there how Rolling stone never has black female artists on the cover and Paris is taking up one of those few and far between coveted spots.  Didn't she question the legitimacy of Paris claiming to identify as Black?  While I don't know about all that I do agree with the notion Paris has done nothing to earn a spot on Rolling Stone covers.

I have to give Wendy her due here as well.  I finally received my issue of Rolling Stone and read the Paris interview.  It was the ramblings of a boring, average intelligence teen who has nothing of interest to say about the world or music.  I don't mean to insult Paris, it's not her fault RS put her out there like that.

Do you know why he got fired?

I know it's been some time since he's been gone.

The other guy's name was Jason. In a nutshell, Wendy said something about black colleges in hot topics that was deemed not to be politically correct, received a lot of blow back about it afterwards. She blamed staff for it, and used Jason as a scapegoat,  fired him and I guess a few other behind the scenes people as well. It's discussed in more detail a few pages back.

Thank you for the explanation! I remember the comments she made and the ensuing backlash. It doesn't seem very reasonable for her to blame her staff especially Jason since she's the one that made the comments. No wonder Norman seems more afraid than usual to disagree with Wendy or correct her.

Wendy made so many pregnant references on her show today. Is she actually pregnant or is this just her humor?

Lol, she's 52, I doubt she's pregnant. Plus she had 3 miscarriages and was on total bedrest for 9 months with her son. She had a high risk pregnancy in her 30's, don't think she would be trying that again.

yeah and she can barely deal with the dog as it is, let alone a human being baby.

I think Wendy's brain farts are becoming more frequent.

Wendy scolded her audience twice for laughing during 'serious' hot topics today.  Wendy, I love you, Lawd knows I do, but your show is a not a serious newsmagazine.  Don't lecture us on social graces!!

I've seen her do stuff like that a lot. She'll yell at the audience for clapping for something she doesn't like, or like you said for laughing at something she doesn't think is funny.

I guess "say it like you mean it" only applies if you agree with her.

Hi, all! I'm new to this forum and just had to jump in and say how much I enjoyed the Larry Birkhead interview. He seems like a stand-up kind of guy and seems like he's fulfilling his father role very well.

Welcome aboard prairiemakeup! Today's episode (here in Orange county calif)of Wendy was interrupted for the big news that a small plane crashed into a residential home/neighborhood) My immediate thought was "oh no, Harrison Ford is flying again?"  In all seriousness, my prayers go out to the family of those who died and were  injured.

Anyway I recorded Wendy so I am looking forward to the interview with Larry Birkhead :)

SoCal here too... it seems like Wendy gets pre-empted daily.  And it's always during Hot Topics, the one part of the show I actually care about.

I can't believe Wendy glossed over the Oscars on Monday, saying she didn't care and then went on to talk about Nicki Minaj vs Remy Ma for like 12 minutes.

I know! I also can't stand when she says she doesn't really care about a topic, she's just reporting it for us. That's so rude to say. But when it comes to some hip hop or rap news she's all over it, sometimes bringing it up for days. I guess that's her demographic now and old ladies like me (not much older than Wendy, actually) don't matter. Although, I do see plenty of women still in her audience that are in their 40's and 50's that I'm sure don't give a rats ass about her going on and on about Nicki and Remy's fued so I don't really understand her logic. Chris Brown is another one she talks too much about.

(edited)

Is it me, or has Wendy only been covering a couple items in hot topics lately. She used pack a lot of items in and really move it along and even run out of time. But now it's 3 or so topics and she really stretches them out, randomly chatting with Suzanne or Norman or cutting to the audience or telling how much she doesn't really care. I don't get it cuz there is plenty of celeb stuff to talk about. Maybe it's just less for her to have to remember.

Also, cannot believe she said of the Oscars accountant that he made a mistake and should be fired! Girl, you make egregious mistakes just about every single day! (PS. I don't personally have an opinion on whether he should be fired.)

I am amazed at the amount of time the Nicki Minaj/Remy Ma dust up is getting from her.  Who cares.  I couldnt name either one of their songs if you paid me.  Move on already Wendy.

Sometimes Wendy is like a dog with a bone and just won't give it up. Enough already, move on!

I just caught up on my weeks worth of dvr'd Wendys and I'm sorry but I was LIVING for the Remy talk!

Now, I'm kinda biased because I have hated Nicki from way back - - - couldn't stand her manufactured, corny, copying ass but I understand that a younger, more diverse demographic ate her shit up because they just didn't know any better.  But for her to talk greasy about a real MC then run and hide when the response came back?  Bye, bitch.  And Remy showing up in her funeral attire?  I'm dead.  I don't even make it a point to purchase much rap these days but I'm damn sure going to get Shether and Remy 's new album with Joe.

Wendy getting choked up over Chris Brown's speculated death and talking about his demons, downward spiral and how hard his upbringing was. This guy is an asshole, ok.

What about accountability Wendy? He doesn't need sympathy and tears he needs tough love and jail time. It was offensive for me I've been abused, so her excuses for his behavior were bullshit.

I agree! When she had him on her show, she was less than kind, so why the tears for him now? Please. He's an entitled jerk who beats up women and  has surrounded himself with "yes" people.  She is right about one thing, when he's passed out on the couch, his "friends" are probably robbing him blind!

Wendy is so proud of herself for actually touching the baby wild animals and eluding to how nice their fur would be if made into a coat. Fuck off you gigantic moron. You are not funny. Or cute or pretty.

The animal trainer didn't look too pleased either. What was with Wendy calling the baby kangaroo's mother a "hood mom" and the anteater a "ghetto kid"?

Wendy really thinks she can cross the line with inappropriate remarks about anything  stereotypically related to blacks just because shes black. She is so not funny. I would love to hear from someone who went to one of wendys comedy shows. Does that person even exist?

Exactly! Not long ago she was talking about Stevie J. buying his kid's shoes but not paying child support and Wendy chuckled while rubbing her the back of her hand in a "so black!" gesture. *eye roll*

I watched a couple of youtube videos of Wendy's "comedy show". Disgusting and not funny. I can't imagine how the people who paid to see her feel. I would be pissed.

She thinks being vulgar is the same as funny when it's just juvenile.
