ApathyMonger April 6, 2017 Share April 6, 2017 Quote Glenn (Mark McKinney) invites all of his kids to the store causing disorder among the employees. Jonah (Ben Feldman) develops a romantic interest in Glenn's 25-year-old daughter, and Amy (America Ferrera) gets caught in the middle. Meanwhile, Garrett (Colton Dunn), Dina (Lauren Ash) and Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) struggle to keep track of one of the toddlers and Mateo (Nico Santos) tricks the kids into working for him as he grapples with life after Jeff. Irlandesa April 7, 2017 Share April 7, 2017 Don't worry, Mateo. I think Jeff is handsome. I liked him with the kids today. The main plot with Jonah wanting to date Glenn's daughter didn't do much for me but I did like Mateo's plot and I loved them trying to entice Boobie Sue from her runaway adventures. Bobby Suh, the candy, Garrett's call of candy...it all cracked me up. 5 Link to comment
iMonrey April 7, 2017 Share April 7, 2017 The grown-up Bobby Suh demanding the candy was hilarious and so was the baby trap - plunger, storage bin and black licorice. And "baby calls." But good Lord, how many kids does Glenn have? He must have an enormous house. 4 Link to comment
ASpring1900 April 7, 2017 Share April 7, 2017 I enjoyed seeing some child actors play Glenn's children that I knew from other shows-- adorable twins Layla and Emelia Golfieri (Bobby Sue) were on Grandfathered and Chloe Coleman (Zoey) played Skye on Big Little Lies! 2 Link to comment

Yeah, I was like whoah, that's too damn many kids in the opening scene. But then Glenn says something like he's taking a picture for Jerusha's birthday with all the "kids they've ever fostered" which I took to mean past and current foster children, so most of the kids shown probably don't live with them anymore. It's not common for foster kids to stay with foster parents for life. I really loved all the places Bobby Sue found to have some good fun, right out in the open. Having looked for a lost kid myself, I understand the frantic reaction, though. Love love love that the trap worked! When Cheyenne shrieked that the moving tub was Bobby Sue, I first thought "Why is she so sure?"--I had forgotten all about the trap, and totally cracked up when Dina bragged that it worked. And I liked that Mateo was responsible with those kids (even if he was getting them to do his work--and I'm of the opinion that a little work now and then isn't a bad thing for kids): he didn't leave them to their own devices, made sure to take them for food, listened to them with no more disdain (or maybe even less) than he does anyone. Not bad, Mateo. I hope he meets someone new who treats him better than Jeff did. 6 Link to comment
tennisgurl April 7, 2017 Share April 7, 2017 (edited) Wow, Glenn has so many kids! If I had that many kids, I would probably try to start a family band too. I guess they probably don't all live with him anymore, but still. I loved the trap that they set for Bobbi Sue, and that it actually worked! I guess she liked black liquorish after all. And the weird looks people kept giving everyone looking for the kid were cracking me the hell up. Edited April 7, 2017 by tennisgurl 1 Link to comment

Dirtybubble April 7, 2017 Share April 7, 2017 Aaand my love for Glenn continues to grow! I had a boss like him once and even though he would irritate me a bit I and everyone who knew him would move mountains for that loveable goof Link to comment

Fostersmom April 8, 2017 Share April 8, 2017 I loved Bobbie Sue scanning the same thing over and over again, kids LOVE the stupid scanners and that while at least some of the knew she was lost, she had no clue. I can't tell you how many lost kids don't know they are lost and are just going on with their little kid selves while mom is having a melt down across the store. The baby calls were hilarious. Have we ever seen Glenn's wife? I almost feel like she was shown once, but I can't remember for sure. As odd as Glenn can be, you can tell he loves her though. Amy's remembering of the times his kids there was so true to life, every store I worked in had their retail kids that would pop up from time to time. Never saw any for a full week while someone had "their legs done" but when babysitters fell thru or an unexpected day off like a snow day, you'd see kids hanging out in the break room. Much like Mateo, sometimes you'd see them out on the floor doing stuff if they were old enough, well behaved, and bored of hanging in the back. 5 Link to comment
neuromom April 8, 2017 Share April 8, 2017 It kinda through me that Glenn's oldest daughter is 25. They have been fostering for a LONG time. It upped my respect for him. Being a foster parent is NOT easy. Most of the kids have issues. But he obviously has a big heart. And to think there were at least several older kids who returned for this reunion for the picture would lead me to believe they have a lot of affection for Glenn and Jerusha as well. When Cheyenne admitted to Dina that she lost Bobbie Sue , and Dina went full on Emergency Mode, Garrett was looking up at her with a look of admiration. And I totally must have misheard something...Cheyenne said something about "bringing Harmonica" that made it sound as though she was referring to a person......her and Beau didn't name their daughter Harmonica did they? 2 Link to comment
wknt3 April 8, 2017 Share April 8, 2017 I loved this episode pretty much start to finish. From the meeting at the beginning with Cheyenne's description of the drawing, to Mateo outsourcing his job, to the Bobbi Sue/Bobby Suh hijinks. The show is at it's best IMHO when they put the craziness of the store and it's customers and employees front and center. 2 Link to comment

I looked it up - the baby is named Harmonica. And a bit of trivia that I also didn't know... Beau's name is actually Bo Derek Thompson. Lol! 3 Link to comment
DearEvette April 9, 2017 Share April 9, 2017 (edited) This was fun. I liked the Mateo subplot the best. And I have to say I didn't find Jeff unattractive. Actually, I thought he was a little too good For Mateo. But I loved Mateo's line about everyone suddenly being bald. Also cracked out a laugh at the Bobby Suh thing. That was unexpected. I am not gonna lie, I would have insisted on my candy too. Of course, a lost child would be a major fantasy for Dina. I love that little actresses who play Bobbie Sue. She was a fantastic little scene stealer in Grandfathered. And I loved the scenes of her just going about her business, entertaining herself. Edited April 9, 2017 by DearEvette 3 Link to comment
theatremouse April 9, 2017 Share April 9, 2017 I don't think Jeff was by any means unattractive. At the same time, "hot" is not the adjective I'd use either. 2 Link to comment

I'm hoping we never see her and she becomes like Maris on Frasier or Vera on Cheers. It's more fun to imagine the person who would be married to Glenn. Best part of the Bobby Suh subplot was seeing him in the background of a later scene eating candy. I love the little throwaways they do on this show. 1 5 Link to comment
idiotwaltz April 9, 2017 Share April 9, 2017 My favourite scene was Dinah kicking open the door of each bathroom stall and yelling, "CLEAR!" Nice to see Brenda Song (Kristen) again though in my head she'll forever be London Tipton. Gosh, I feel old. Bobbi Sue aka Edie is stinking cute! I'm over the whole Amy/Jonah will-they-won't-they storyline. I find the show much funnier when they're each paired up with another character. 2 Link to comment

I want to see where they go, which contrasts Amy/Jonah scenes. I sometimes FF through them if I'm watching at the gym because they're so dull that I lose my gym motivation. 1 Link to comment

Tiger April 10, 2017 Share April 10, 2017 I think this was the best overall episode in quite some time, primarily because for the first time in a while I think Glenn and Mateo's stories worked. And I have to join the chorus that Dina, Garrett, and Cheyenne looking for the baby was the highlight of the episode, particularly Dina clearing the changing rooms. I still want Amy & Jonah to get together eventually, but the show has been flailing around for ways to 'Ross & Rachel' them, and I think Jonah dating Glenn's daughter and thinking Amy has zero interest in him while she pines away is the best way to do it because it plays to Ben and America's strenghts. 2 Link to comment

Glenn's daughter could have been adopted/fostered at 16 or 17, but still, he has been doing this a long time. I felt disappointed that Glenn couldn't have admitted the truth, but it did set up an interesting story here. I'm not even entirely sure if Amy is pining for Jonah, or if she doesn't want to "share" him even if she's not actually into him. 1 Link to comment
