Conclusion.  Time is running out for two brothers when one of them focuses on his new career instead of his diet, and the other spends a year on a weight-loss program but is completely noncompliant.

This is your regular episode topic.  This thread will  unlock after the episode airs on the east coast.

He's still alive.

Two questions. Did he ever get the surgery? Do we know? And second, if not how fast do you think it took him to gain all the weight that he lost back?

Well thank God that's over.

It looks like the next two weeks are going to be followup episodes on previous patients.  April 12th is Lupe and Ashley D.  April 19th is Brittani and Sean.

Awesome, Lupe frustrated the bejeezus out of me, so it will be interesting to see if she decided to get out of that bed or not. She was able to at her heaviest, then drops 300 pounds, and suddenly 'can't' because she found out her hubs was flirting around, and I think she knew if she could get up and walk, he'd flee.

CUPCAKE!!! Why did he have to name it after a FOOD ITEM???

Are we sure it's the same cat?

That was some of the most affecting and harrowing TV I've ever seen, and I've seen way too much TV. And I remain most concerned at that poor cat in Steven's apartment. The cat was very sweet and friendly to him, and I can just see Steven copping a fit of rage and taking it out on that animal.

I really, really, really hope that cat has a new home now.

Amen! I have been obsessing about that cat myself.

So.... Justin is now way fatter than Steven!  Good going, Justin!  You can wear the crown now.  "Hobby Haven" how original.  Do they have yarn, quilting supplies? No?  Maybe a better name would have been "Lonely in Mom's Basement," "Loserville" or "Sad Things to Do."

I did enjoy Steven falling off the karma cart and calling his pain a "9" while able to comfortably carrying out a conversation, arguing, calling 911, etc.

As a viewer, the warnings that he might die if he continued left me strangely unmoved.  Maybe you just can't threaten with the carrot?  It's not very effective.

Hi AllisonWonderland. I don't have--and don't plan on getting--Facebook, so please can you keep dinosaurs like me updated on what he's saying/doing/not wearing?

He's got a streaming video pointing up at his face (from a *terribly* unflattering low angle) and people are posting comments in a live-stream fashion as he talks. He's responding to the comments and the comments are responding to him--some are asking questions, others are being kind of weird and flirtatious, etc.

He just said something weird about how he wishes Trump was there...? And one of the commenters is apparently someone he used to bully in the past and he just gave her a strange round-about apology-ish thing and said he's not looking for her friendship or forgiveness. He's seemingly choosing to skip over questions about his relationship with his brother and about Princess so far, other than to say that Justin hasn't gotten surgery yet. Tanisha from earlier in the season is posting in the comments as well.

Well, I just had to look at his live chat. Shirtless and seems high as a kite.  Loves his fans! I heard the cat meow, so it's alive, at least.

He introduces himself as "Star of My 66lb Life."

***Obviously I meant 600 lb.

Eeeewww, Tanisha!

And women flirting with him? Wonder what they look like?

Folks,  this isn't the Facebook live feed live chat thread.  It's the episode thread. Please refrain from giving a play-by-play of his FB chat.  You can always PM each other if you want to discuss his FB feed.

Thanks!

Oops, sorry about that.

Back to the episode, when Dr. Now had the papers describing all his doctor & pill shopping, I'm wondering how did he get that far? Here in Massachusetts (and probably Rhode Island, too)I think they would have nipped that right in the bud after the first few instances. We have a big opiate problem here. As far as I know the hospitals have contact with each other, so do the pharmacies. Could it be that Texas just put that database system in place recently, as in several months after Steven arrived? It's mind boggling how he could have gotten so many pills.

Or, to be more specific, "A Very Limited Number of Sad Things to Do." WTF? There were like 10 "items" in that store! And where did the money come from to open it and operate it? I think that was some TLC shenanigans at work there -- much like that whole golf cart scene seemed like a complete set up along with Steven calling the police on Princess and then suddenly..."canceling" it. I have news for TLC -- you can't just "cancel" a 911 call. They show up regardless.

I FF'd through most of this. Boring, fake and waste of my time. That it didn't end with Steven getting shot in the face with an elephant gun made it all the worse.

I've been to the ER plenty of times and the majority of the time I was never given a pain med script to take home. The one time I did it was for 10 pills, because I had a kidney stone. It blows my mind that somehow he gets (multiple!!!) ER doctors to write scripts for hundreds of pills. I've never heard of that ever. I take pain meds regularly for my health issues and even then (from my specialist's office) I don't get that many at once. And he does this all the time? I am floored.

I just double-checked information on Texas' prescription drug tracking database that I read a while ago, mainly because of Steven's first episode showing him going to twenty different places to procure pills. This system has been in place since 2012. Maybe Texas is just as efficient monitoring this database as they are with their crap aftercare for drug addicts in recovery.

Here's a link to the story about the launch of the database:

I know, right? I thought the detox they did for him was very short. What was it, 10 days? The people on Intervention go for like 90 days then onto a clean house or sober living place whatever its called.

I think Steven shouldn't be living on his own. He should be in a group home or something similar, if they'd put up with all his crap. That way they could feed him and give him his meds as needed, instead of leaving him to his own devices. Anyone else notice the pill bottles on his bed in the last scene? Not a good sign.

I'm a nurse in Texas, but I don't work in a specialty that deals with narcotics (I do kidney dialysis), so I knew of the database, but I don't know how exactly it works. Dr now had that paper, but then said he was going to enter it into the database, and when he did Steven would never be given pain meds again (or something to that effect) so it sounds like he hadn't been entered in the database by any of those other doctors. What's the point of the system then? Did he have someone call all of the area hospitals to check for records? (I have had to do that before). It's very possible I missed a key piece of information because I was outraged at something else said and was furiously writing in the live feed thread.

I am just watching now.  I wish Dr. Paradise was my therapist.  I like his cute little face.

He barely hit the ground off the golf cart.

Re: doctor shopping - here in Ohio, people on Medicaid (I'm assuming that's the situation here) who are suspected of doctor shopping are placed on a program where they have to choose one doctor, one pharmacy, and one hospital.  Those are the only facilities that are covered by Medicaid, and most doctors won't see you without some kind of insurance.  It helps some, although addicts are crafty.

Haha!  My husband saw a bit of this last week.  Tonight he was in our study working on a report while I watched.  I walked in the room to get something and he said "is he dead yet?"

I felt like, during last week's episode, we were seeing the real Steven.  Selfish, manipulative, and sociopathic.  Tonight's episode felt much more fake.  Almost everything about it screamed "set-up."  I don't buy his losing weight or having any epiphanies about himself or his apology to his brother.

Thinking about the 7 day in hospital detox, that is actually realistic,  What was strange was that he didn't go from detox to a drug addiction treatment center.  Drs. Flower and Beardy talked about him needing to do work post detox.  It is possible that his insurance doesn't cover in patient drug rehab.  The other option is having thrown yet more fits, he was not welcomed into a rehab.

yeah, they skipped the whole rehab part.    He probably refused to go because it was clear he just wanted drugs.  No way he was clean at the end of the show either, he was high as a kite.

Steven's teeth are jacked up.  Especially during the Dr Paradise visit.

Who knew dear old dad was paying for EVERYTHING?  Geez Louise.

I know that apartment STUNK to high heavens when they cleaned up that apartment just for therapist and mentioned something about making smell better.

Ok somebody prepare the handbasket because I was cracking up laughing at the golf cart scene.  I just feel bad for the property manager who had to endure the moaning.  It's interesting that dad mentioned that Steven could have faked it because "he's done it before...."
