I feel the worst for Lynn's kids-they never had a chance. Between the stoned, oblivious parents and neither daughter being a candidate for Mensa, coupled with the major lack of any solid values from Mama Lynn; never had a chance.

Lynn's getting a face lift while her family's residence hung in the balance is the OC equivalent of Nero fiddling as Rome burned.

Lynn was the worst. I always had this queazy feeling that she supported her girls getting into a certain level of sex work, like stripping or soft core porn. Of course I also always felt like Lynn probably did some escorting when she was younger. Laurie too come to think of it. They both just have this look that screams So Cal escort service.

Is this the place where I come with my head hanging in shame and admit I miss Gretchen?   I miss her hustling her enviable ass on her various snake oil projects.   I miss her making Ragu dinner with cold sauce.   I miss her ridiculous but strangely appropriate fashion sense and the meta-ness of her being her own, life size Barbie.    I miss Slade painting a Rembrandt quality portrait of her as a W.C. Fields/Farrah Fawcett mashup.   Most of all, I miss her malapropisms.    Come back Gretchen!   I promise to buy some cheap makeup and one of those shitty I phone cases if you do.

  • Love 2

Nope never liked Gretchen. Her story always seemed fake and she had no wealth not even a sad story of losing it so she offered no eye candy in real estate or vacations and she never really had a connection to any other cast members but Slade. Now ATL Kim for all her nonsense excelled at gold digging and had a really great townhome, storyline and a fun friendship with the popular NeNe.  What they now have in common is worn out stories for their particular franchises and I'm happy they are both gone from the Housewife universe. Sometimes wives just have to go and Bravo so far hasn't been very successful with bringing one back. Laurie was a disaster.

  • Love 4

I'm sort of amazed at how many one-and-done HWs this particular franchise has had: Kim Bryant, Quinn, Peggy, Lydia, and now (based on her FB post) Lizzie. Plus, the failed "friend of" experiments with Fernanda and now Danielle. Seems like OC has much more of a turnover than any of the other HW series.

Yet, this is why OC has never totally struggled with new housewives as bad as BH and NYC have.  Shame that they haven't tossed Tamra yet.

I feel like Alexis really grew and changed on the show. The first season, she was practically praying the gay away and by the last season she and Jim were out partying with (and good freinds with ) Fredrik from million dollar lsiting NY. I know first hand people really can change. My husband was raised über conservative and had all kinds of antiquated ideas. A few years with the nc he was pro gay marriage and very vocal on equal rights. I am so proud of him and proud of Alexis too. It's not easy to say I was wrong and I just didn't know any better.

I think one of the things I liked about Alexis was the sense she really was trying to figure it all out. Like she really wanted to be a good wife/mother/friend/Christian/person and to figure out what that meant. Now she had some really backwards ideas and wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but she cared about what she believed, as opposed to just wanting to be right all the time. I actually found her rather honest exploration of her beliefs regarding homosexuality to be less offensive that Tamara's narcissistic "I love the gays! Look at my gay best friend! You have to have a fab gay man around!" dehumanizing mind set. Anybody is free to disagree with me or find Alexis's statements completely offensive and unforgivable (I don't really disagree) but I couldn't help feeling like whatever Alexis felt at any moment, she thought of the LGBT community as people, people whom she may strongly disagree with but people. Tamara thought of them as mascots and accessories.

I don't like Tamra, and it certainly does seem like she got the boot.

BUT... I could see a situation where they bring her back at the 11th Hour and on a very tight leash. She certainly gave Bravo a lot of bargaining power with her latest stunt(s), so I could see her being desperate to play ball and taking whatever lowball offer they throw her way at the last minute. With Aviva being edited out of the NY credits for several episodes, Luann being demoted on RHONY, and even Alexis being brought back last minute on last season's RHOC, I'd have to think there's still a possibility Tamra might not be gone from the show. She's a loose cannon, but she does bring the drama, so I guess it's a question of whether they like her on-screen antics enough to put up with her off-screen ones. She seems slightly more willing to fall in line than a Jill Zarin, so I would never say never when it comes to Tamra returning to this show...

  • Love 1

Do we know for sure she's fired?   I wouldn't put it past Bravo to put Tamra up to all this extra curricular  shit stirring.   Everyone knows it's fake, the ratings are sliding, and no matter how much people hate Tamra, a hate watch is as good as any other.   What else do people watch it for now?   Heather pretending it's still the '90's and that she has a  shot at a third rate sitcom?    Vicki pretty much doing nothing, and added to that, she's single with no family around her?    Lizzie "designing" half assed bathing suits and talking about how her pre school aged child is shitting up his back?

Is that all there is?

Don't forget the season 7 FOTH, Sarah, who ate the bow off Heather's cake and chased Vicki around a bowling alley!

I would like to know what Kimberly Bryant's kids are up to. Bianca is about 22 now and Travis would be about 16.

Bravo did a fluff piece on her in May.

http://www.bravotv.com/blogs/the-dish/kimberly-bryant-my-life-after-the-real-housewives

Her rapid departure from OC may have had less to do with skin cancer and more to do with her husband being charged with assault for punching the girlfriend of Kimberly's former fitness instructor at a party.  This was back when the local OC Register had regular columns on the HWs, along with a very active comments section.  Those were the days.

Damn, Bianca is 22 now? Wasn't it her 13th birthday that they had at the hotel? I didn't realize the show has been on that long.

Time goes way too fast once you get old.

Was that the party where she got in trouble for prank-calling the front desk? It was so refreshing to see her get in trouble for something silly and look genuinely afraid of the repercussions.

I loved the 1st season of this show! The relationships were definitely more organic and genuine.

I use to love that column by Frank (The Register).  Frank wrote about that incident too.  Remember he use to write a lot about Josh?  He met with Josh.  Also, he met with Chin's ex-wife Gina when Chin and Lauri showed up at her house to retrieve stuff.  She called him to come with her.  She use to have a youtube channel and it was hysterical.  It was a total hate channel about George and Lauri.  Of course, I loved it.  It's no longer there.  Only found this  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8XR7OLfV5c

Guess Shane's big time modeling & acting career crapped out, eh?  Anything else to tell besides him getting the RE license?  Aw, do tell, Lablover . . .

Sigh.  He thinks if I say too much I'll be identified - which basically means, he will too !   LOL   What a stick in the mud ;)

If Tamrat does come back I'll just fast forward past the bitch. I'm just not interested in her.

If they feature her too much I'll stop watching. Jill Zarin put me off RHONY and I haven't been back.

Jeana's tweet from a few days ago gave me a giggle-

"whoo hoo Shane Keough passed his real estate test on the first try! I am so proud of my son."

She sounds surprised he actually passed.  Um, I am too.  Did mama Jeana write the answers on his hand?

Here's hoping he doesn't show up on Million Dollar Listing LA. Maybe Cat crap condo OC will get picked up.

I remember Kimberly Bryant, well I mainly remember her having the worst set of breast implants I have ever seen in my life, and she had awful hair but I can't recall her kids to save my life.

Lauri, Babe, OC register and TWOP? I consider that the heyday of the OC. Damn that shit was good! So much dirty, illicit gossip. The only thing bad was the intermittent board shutdowns. I had so much snark building up with no place to post, I felt like a septic tank about to explode. Horrible analogy, I know.

I am surprised that Lauri and Babe are still married.

Quinn's Roxy routine has got to be one of the most cringe worthy scenes in OC history. That was just awkward and I was embarrassed for her. TWOP was merciless with her. I do get a giggle every time I think of the nicknames we had forever, which were of course, the time before they banned use of nicknames. People called her Quim and my personal fave - mile long cleavage. I couldn't believe those were implants.

Peggy is so weird looking, worse in person and Micah is just a douche.

Every time I saw Peggy I thought she could have been the granddaughter of that scary ass preacher man from Poltergeist 2

I have never cared for Jeana Keough and her family. Something very Eeyore about her.

Rewatching season 6 and Peggy seriously has the nastiest, rattiest extensions I have ever seen. She was a terrible HW, no surprise at all she was a one and done. I'm still amazed they decided to cut Fernanda to a supporting role at the last minute that year and leave Peggy a full fledged HW. Also, Peggy as a replacement for Lynne is the biggest casting mistake since they switched out Danielle over in NJ for Kathy Wakile. I will say though that I really felt for Peggy and her very real struggle with postpartum depression.

Vicki is really insufferable in season 6. This was the season she ended up getting divorced from Donn and on rewatch she was such a terrible wife and obviously very checked out at this point in her marriage. Wasn't she cheating on him with Brooks at this point as well?

Yeah, Fernanda was down-graded because she didn't contribute to the group dynamics that much and she only really interacted with Tamra.  Plus, her Independance Day party where she became a citizen had no one from the cast show up, and the productions attempt at setting up conflict between Alexis and Fernanda didnt work because Fernanda was too sweet and Alexis was too sweet as well... though wasn't it revealed that they actually became friends post filming the 6th season?

Also, the change to the format started post season 3 filming during the filming of the talking heads.  I remember Quinn stated that the producers were trying to get her to say more catty things during her talk head segments but that she didn't feel comfortable doing that... which she said was one of the reasons she wasn't asked back in season 4.  I still think it hilarious that Tamra said the only housewife she would never want back was Quinn :)

The whole "Cougar" thing was a bad fit for Quinn.   I know she was supposed to be older than those two crispy, burned looking guys she was dating, but  she looked younger.  She was too much of a catch for those busted losers.   I give her credit for deciding that she didn't want to make a fool of herself with that stupid storyline and bowed out before the shit started hitting the fan for her.

Peggy looked to me like a demented plastic surgeon took a once attractive woman and made her ugly.    Her face looked like a skull with paper thin skin stretched really tightly over it.

I'm re-watching Season 2 as well and really don't get this "OC Angels" thing. I thought Lou was creepy (and Vicki was spot-on in her analysis of him as a creep) and for all his talk about wanting a certain type of spokesmodel (high GPA, healthy-looking), the girls looked like strung-out porn starlets at their first photo shoot…and I could have done without his appreciative asides about the girls to the photographer. Yuck.

Tammy was really pretty, I thought, and I could well believe that more guys hit on her than her bleached-out, raccoon-eyed daughter. (Lindsey, they do make clump-free mascara, check it out.) I don't understand how Tammy hooked up with Lou at 18. I just look at the guy and he's not attractive, not charming, not charismatic.

It IS pretty funny seeing Slade saying that "there's already a buzz [around Jo's singing career]." Ditto Michael's face the moment Vicki walks into his apartment on game day, wielding a case of beer and whooping.

Saddest moment thus far? Matt Keough talking about his marriage and why he won't quit it and run after some young girl. He said - and I'm paraphrasing - "I'd rather be wrong, and be miserable, than to go find happiness." Yikes!

I was doing a S1 re watch on Hulu today and I'd totally forgotten how Laurie just glossed over her divorce terms. She made it sound like her husband was super rich and somehow screwed her out of any money. Which...in CA, with 2 kids, after 15 years of marriage? It just didn't seam likely. I always wondered what the story was. If maybe it turned out her ex was some sort of scam artist and there wasn't any money? Or she signed a strict pre-nup and then she cheated or something? But that wouldn't explain why she wasn't even getting child support, or maybe she was and tried to live off of just that. And she kept implying that Josh had no relationship with his Dad, but Sophia spent weekends with him? Did all 3 kids have different dads? I always wanted to know details.

I wonder what ever happened with Tammy's girls. I remember Megan with the older boyfriend and the pit bulls.

Lindsey had a drunken run-in with police last year.  I think Megan dropped one Pit Bull breeder for another, and may be breeding French Bulldogs as well.  See links:

Alexis and Jim's vow renewal is going to be aired on David Tutera's CELEBrations.

Watching this and wow, Alexis has gone off the deep end. She and Jim are celebrating their 10 year anniversary and she's a terror. Maybe it's just me but she was doing way too much. If she was trying to be memorable so that viewers won't forget her she really overplayed her hand there.

Nice to see Lydia again though.

I always find it amusing when Housewives are so concerned about toxins and being healthy. Yet, starve themselves, drink like fishes and have plastic surgery. Does not compute. At least Peggy's girls look happy. Hopefully she won't transfer her issues to them.

I DVR'd Alexis and Jim. I see nothing's changed. She's the worst actress in the world. Jim's still a prick. They're desperate to be on tv. Thank goodness they're off RHoOC.

I caught the Bellinos on David Tutera, too. Generally an Alexis fan here, but,  wow, the aesthetics of that wedding renewal were fucking hideous, from the dress to the carpet at the reception (why didn't the planner put down the temporary white floor the entire expanse of the space?). Perhaps unsurprising, but I don't see how this show is a very good advertisement for DT's business. Alexis generally had poor taste, but she occasionally stumbled into some flattering/kind of cool clothes (there was a turquoise slit-sleeved mini dress from her collection that was fun in a trashing-it-up-in-the-club kind of way, and her shell pink number at the season 7 reunion was lovely).
