Kara (Jeans's daughter) recently wed an NFL player. I heard they were shopping a show to Bravo.

I miss the old days of Jeana, Tammy Knickerbocker, and even Jo and Slade. I liked that they really were neighbors and really knew each other. Vicky and Jeana still live across the street from each other. I enjoyed the organic (not staged) cookouts, Checking out their homes and yards, their ubiquitous low-cut Sky blouses with the jeweled embellishments. Frankly, I think it all went to shit when Tamra Barney hit the scene as the "hottest housewife."

Emme,I miss those days too. I remember Vicki calling her son when she was out of town and yelling at him because Jeana called her and told her he was having a party. I don't know why they changed it into staged parties and fights.

I love watching the marathons of the first couple of seasons. I don't like what these shows have become in a lot of ways. But I still watch.

I liked Quinn. She seemed like a genuinely sweet person. She was the soccer mom with a freaky side. I hope she found what she's looking for and is happy.

Quinn did seem pretty nice.  Man, she was a bundle of contradictions.  Wasn't she super religious too?  I think her prob was she didn't mesh too well with the others and she wasn't wacky or crazy enough.

She was religious. She said that was one of the reasons she wanted to get married so badly, so she could let her freak flag fly without feeling guilty.

Compared to the plastic surgery victims on these shows, I thought Quinn looked great too.

Yes, the original seasons were the best. These were people who actually knew each other in some way. And most of their scenes involved their families or business, then there might be a backyard BBQ to get them all together. But that was it. I'm tired of how every week we have some pretense for getting all the HoWives together - cooking class, makeup lessons, wine tasting, etc. etc. It's overkill.

I wonder what the old Ho-wives are up to?  The only one I know about is Jo.  I think she moved to NYC with her boyfriend.

I think Quinn's problem was that like Joyce from BH, she was too sweet and not catty enough.  The only housewife she seemed to mess well with was Jeana and to a lesser extent Vicki.  She was quirky especially when donning the Roxy wig.  I also loved how jealous Tamra got that she had a younger boyfriend and looked years younger then her age at the time.

 

The only season that I think Tamra was likable was her first season.  She seems more likable and normal when in individual scenes then with the other housewives.

I agree about Quinn. I wasn't a huge fan (she seemed a bit annoying and needy), but ultimately I think her biggest flaw was being sort of calm. She was kooky and stuff, but more or less just livd her life like a grown up and shrugged stuff off. She lacked that high school cool clique vendetta type of temper that seems to be a Housewife requirement. If she had ever gotten into a real fight with anyone I imagine she would have just walked away. Andy does not like people who aren't ready to die on every stupid hill that comes along. Someone said your 2 year old looks ready for bed at a cocktail party at 9PM? Start crying and screaming about what a good mother you are! Quinn would have likely just said "oh I lost track of time" and taken the kid home while rolling her eyes at the "helpful" advise. What's Andy supposed to do with that? Come on people! He has a job to do!

I would like to know what Kimberly Bryant's kids are up to. Bianca is about 22 now and Travis would be about 16.

I always wonder if Kimberly, Jo, Tammy Knickerbocker, or Quinn would have fit in with the new style of the Real Housewives show that started in season 4.  I know Lauri left as it started to morph into that, and we all know how she fit in when she returned for several appearences last season.

 

I also wonder if any housewife that came in after season 4 would have fit in with the original format of the show?  I imagine Shannon, Lydia, and Lizzie to a certain extent might have had enough material in their day to day life, but who is tos ay.

I feel the worst for Lynn's kids-they never had a chance. Between the stoned, oblivious parents and neither daughter being a candidate for Mensa, coupled with the major lack of any solid values from Mama Lynn; never had a chance.

Oh, I remember "Babe"'s ex wife you tube channel.  It was a blast to listen to her rants about "Babe".  I tried to find it and it seems to have disappeared.  She was such a beautiful wacko.  I've seen pictures of Ashley and I think she looked really pretty.  At least she didn't go down the Curtin Girls Road.  Yikes.

Yeah, but TWOP before Tamra was a different world. It was beyond snark, people were digging up a ton of dirt, the threads were shut down for days, weeks, months. Truly crazy and super entertaining. When the OC thread was resurrected, the first couple of seasons worth of chat/snark disappeared, along with all of the dirt.

The Babes were (and are) sketchy as hell. Ashley didn't go the way of the Curtain girls but didn't George's daughter get somewhat connected to porn? A friend or something?

Well, when Lauri told Vicky last season that Brooks was hanging out with some chick in adult entertainment (I can't remember if it was a stripper, porn star, or what), she apparently heard this from one of George's daughters who was "friends" with the girl. So evidently there is some loose connection, but I'm willing to bet it's not as loose as Lauri would have us believe.

Yup. It started out as Brooks dating a porn star and maybe making porn with her and ended up as a girl was a waitress at a poker club and Brooks tipped her. Sort of like how the Vicki story started out as a orgy and ended up with Vicki and 2 other people being in a room with a bed at the same time. That Lauri, she's a straight shooter.

I was just watching Top Chef Masters season 2 and Lynn, Alexis and Tamra were guest judges. I was so embarrassed for them!

I think Lynne came from a casting call too.  I think she mentioned it in an interview, it was supposed to be more of a stepping stone for her kids over her.
