Sigh. I know. That just makes it even more sad. I know they didn't have education or exposure to culture, but isn't there something they like? Sporting events? Music? Most young 'uns like to go to concerts/clubs/standup comedy performances. Jesus, Nascar? I know its an issue of socialization and expectations, but since they have been handed huge paychecks for no effort (other than doing something ill judged when young!), you'd think someone would spread her wings a little. I know its complicated and that there are a lot of factors, but it just seems amazing to me that not one of these idiots thinks "wow, I've always wanted to.....(fill in the blank) and now I can!" Go skydiving, learn to pilot a plane, plant trees, do volunteer work. Its just so depressing.

I've got my eye on poor Nova when I voice these thoughts ...

Imagine the FREE educational and cultural things children can be exposed to:  public libraries, book store events for toddlers, local parks that may have family-friendly concerts, 'Mommy & Me' events that usually take place in rec centers for minimal costs, local theaters that show family friendly performances for minimal costs, etc.

Nova's life sort of is and sort of isn't based on 'Good Dog, Carl', isn't it ...

Nova was rear-facing in this episode but forward in past episodes, even when under a year old. C&T are now giving us the "FU Internet" Duggar-style television production.  Next season we'll see them cooking and going to museums, since it's being discussed here.  Don't you know, Tyler was always a big fan of Van Go*.

*Purposeful misspelling of Vincent van Gogh.

To play Devil's Advocate....  Perhaps we see them eating take-out when the crew is filming because craft services for the 'talent' is included in their contract?  It's pretty standard.  The PAs will run out to get them whatever they want and it's paid for by production.  To quote Matt, "We've earned this."

That said, they're lazy fucks though who most likely eat take-out every day especially when it's on MTV's dime.

I pray that Gary makes his health a top priority.

This is possible but someone like Catelyn who is on weight watchers really should be saying "that's cool, the crew can eat takeout but I'm cooking for myself and Tyler because I only get however many points today."  They don't film them every minute of the day so I'm sure they could just not use the 20 minutes of cooking footage they get.  I mean these girls shower and get dressed for the day and we don't see that happening so they can accommodate for certain things of course.  I just can't imagine eating takeout for a week straight once a month even if someone else was paying for it. If you're trying to lose weight that's really hard to bounce back from.

I also wonder why Maci was being induced the day after her due date.

Amber is asleep until noon. So, there goes the morning when Leah would brush her teeth.  Lunch time comes around. They likely go out to eat at McDonald's. I saw Leah with a large size McDonald's soda cup in her hands two episodes ago when she was wanting to know why Amber didn't pick her up that one visitation day. If they are out and about, and drinking soda, by the time they get home, I don't think Amber is thinking about telling her kid to brush her teeth. Matt has a filthy-looking mouth. He sure as hell doesn't brush his teeth. Why would Amber tell Leah to do that when her fuck buddy doesn't?  By the time dinner rolls around, Amber is back in bed as Matt likely orders in food, goes out to pick up food, or tosses something into the microwave. Amber is not there to tell Leah to do anything other than "Bring me some more wine, Boo Boo."

I don't think that disgusting Gerber fake hot dog sh*t they feed their other daughter is much better (while Kristina sips a giant what-looks-like-a-frappacino).

I get the brushing teeth thing tho - it's so important to instill good hygiene habits in your kids as youngsters or they'll be disgusting teens & adults.

It is so easy to put together a simple healthy meal for kids.  Kids like baked chicken with peas and rice.  Simple yet healthy.  My mom worked so she made a nice Sunday meal that we ate again on Monday and she, while cooking the nice Sunday meal, was making extra meat or veggies and freezing it for the week.  Thursday was pizza day!  The only day we could have pop.  We went out to restaurants but never, ever fast food.

This makes sense.

Which is exactly opposite of lower income families of the past.  The national parks took off BECAUSE it was free to everyone so even poorer families could enjoy a day out or camping.  Libraries are free and most include, downloadables, gaming, movies, music and magazines.  So not going to one is crazy.  In Michigan you can use your library card to get into parks, museums and other attractions for free.

I loved taking my 2 oldest children to the library when they were little before  sports and activities took over.  We would leave with books and a  movie for the evening. This way back in the 90s. We didn't have much money so it was easy and  free. My youngest is 6 and doesn't enjoy the library much.  He has autism and can get restless pretty easy.  So in fairness to the other people we don't go much.

I think there's big issues with your parenting when your kid is telling you to "calm down" - in RE: to Amber & Leah on the boat smh! I recall Sophia doing the same to Farrah when she went off on one of her crying fits earlier in the season.

Gary and Kristina honestly need to get a life and stop worrying about Leah so much when she's gone and constantly dogging Amber out. No wonder why they don't get along and can't coparent because she watches these episodes and sees them talking shit about her any time the camera is on her!!

I think one of the reasons why Farrah is so delusional is because no one ever calls her out on her shit. Even the producers now seem to be puppets to her and her insane outbursts.

Tyler looks like he's about to split... (I would lol).

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DOES ANYONE ON THIS F*CKING SHOW KNOW HOW TO COOK!!!??

I don't really agree with weight loss surgery but if there was ever a good candidate for it, it's Gary.  I wonder why he's never had the surgery.  I hate seeing young people like him (and Cate's friend Alexa) be so huge, they don't seem to understand that being at that weight is so unhealthy.  I hope Gary gets his weight under control for his kids.

Speaking of, no Simon this episode! But boy does her father seem to hate him. Every episode he's dying to know if she's finally done with him once and for all. I'm really not so sure why dad would care that much, unless he thinks Simon is after Farrah's money. Because - who cares if he doesn't make her happy. A prince with an 8 pack couldn't make her happy.

I dont feel like he hates Simon. I think he sees how him and Farrah argue a lot and how they just won't work and he keeps trying to clue her into that.  Unlike mommy dearest who spews hatred for Simon. I feel like her dad is trying to be supportive and guide her daughter into a healthy relationship.

Just go online!  Most libraries have downloads you can do online.  Stream movies, download music and books.  My favorite is downloading magazines that stay on your computer until you dump them.  You get them in a magazine format where you turn the pages.  I love it!

Ok maybe green beans or a simple lettuce salad.  I don't remember getting a choice.  Eat or wait until breakfast.  My mother was aware of children and their taste buds.  We are born with our bitter taste buds most prominent so she stuck with corn, peas, green beans when we were little.  How you feed your children when they are young is how healthy the rest of their lives will be.  Will they sneak out to fast food as teens?  Sure they will.  They will eventually return to healthier choices as adults.  We were all cooking as kids.

Amber and Matt are such horrible pet owners. Considering they probably had a nearly unlimited budget to buy a house in Indiana, there's no excuse for not buying a fenced in yard for their two dozen dogs. They're so unrepentantly selfish. "Oh I'll just let my rottweiler run outside and chase after joggers, nbd" I doubt they even own a leash or collar. Who knows how many of their dogs have run off never to be seen again.

Does Tyler ever eat with Cate, or does he just sit around and judge her? I'm glad there's some sanity on this forum because the twitter and facebook comments I read about those two are so mind boggling. "Such an inspiration, blah blah there's nothing wrong with smoking pot its actually healthy." Nah not really, they smoke like a couple lazy college freshmen with no responsibilities. Maybe do something productive and I'd excuse all the pot smoking. Even Taylor and his shitty t-shirt company has shown way more ambition than Tyler's goofy ass. I even got in an argument with some lady in the facebook comments who insisted Catelynn earned a degree in social work. It's amazing how many people defend these two online.

Lastly, there's no reason for Tyler to own a dually pickup. Dually's are for people that haul shit around for work or go out camping or ride horses or need to move cattle. Flouncing around a walking trail in a fedora doesn't make you an outdoorsman, you poser douchebag. I'm assuming they bought it because they needed to rent a U-Haul trailer to move all of his batman garbage from the old house and he insisted they needed to buy a pick-up to pull it. And the real blue collar people that need dually pickups don't get all asshurt about cosmetic scratches, Tyler. Shame on him for berating Catelynn 3 days after she got back from rehab for anxiety. You could tell how nervous she was to tell Tyler about what happened. Asshole.

Haha, yea. Two of my kids might eat the chicken, but ain't none of them touching the peas or rice! I was "blessed" with picky kids, but I do not serve junk or take out. I make what I make and if you like it, you eat it. If not, sorry. (They do get pretty big and wholesome breakfasts and lunches; my kids love fresh fruit. So rest assured, no one is starving!)

My husband is literally paralyzed and works full-time, along with cooking a decently healthy dinner 4+ nights a week from scratch (because I work over 65-hour weeks and get home later).

These people have NO excuse.

I will admit that I ate takeout a lot while severely depressed...though I at least tried to have a varied diet. If oh-so-stable Tyler is so disturbed by Cate's diet and emotional health, why on earth can't he just cook a meal?!?!

As far as I can tell, it is Matt and Amber who have bashed Gary non-stop. This past season they were both being harsh about Gary, the parent who has Leah about 90 percent of the time. Anytime Gary speaks about Amber, it seems to be just his feelings and concerns about Leah. He has been that child's main and sole parent for a very long time. He is going to be concerned, especially with that mouth-breathing cess pool fucker named Matt. I'd be damn leery of having my children around that asshole. And my children are adults! He has been accused of RAPE. He has abandoned all of his children and he scares me with how he controls Amber. Leah needs a safe place and that is with her dad.

Gary has had to watch Amber and Matt say horrible untruths about him. I guess that is ok because Gary is a guy. Amber and Matt can be lazy fucks and hypocrites. They have no right to bash Gary for doing his job.

Producers also prod the cast members to speak about certain subjects. We just watched Heather ask cast members to discuss certain topics or people and then direct them to speak about it without directing their comments to the crew. No different for Gary. If they can ask Amber to discuss her feelings, which they do a lot, why not Gary?

Yes I know,  it's great what we can do online. . Our local library  is amazing.  I get him books all the time.   My son has books and books and tons of movies everything under the sun.

I enjoyed that particular  time with my oldest children.  The walking to the library, sitting with them as the picked out books.  Joining reading groups. It seemed when they reached 3rd 4th grade  we were so busy  with activities.  They are now in their 20s. It was just a sweet time for us.

I can see Leah loving making a day of library and the park for picnic lunch  with Amber,  if only Amber would.

While my 6 yr old isn't into the library  he stays very busy with swim and sensory groups and therapy after school.

He has a hard time sitting still.  He only just started letting read him books at night.

Of course I get the child with endless energy in my 40s :)

Gawd, everytime I see Amber I have to LOL and SMH.  I can't imagine what a boring and miserably absurd life she's living.  She gets up (at noon?), works for however long perfecting her makeup complete with fake eyelashes, perfect drawn-on brows, blended but sometimes off-color foundation and blush, gets dressed in clothes she thinks mature, successful people wear hoping to fit in with her newfound upscale neighborhood residents, only to sit on her fake? leather couch all day and answer questions posed to her by MTV producers.  OH, I forgot - she sometimes gets up to mop up the pee on the floor from one of their many untrained dogs.   What an empty, boring, wasteful life.

I actually do not see anything wrong with eating out, or even eating out a lot. I have lived in some countries where it was the norm to have dorm sized refrigerators and hot plates instead of stoves. People ate out as the norm. In my family we eat out probably 3 times a week. However, we do like to cook and are teaching our kids how to do it. We still have special meals and our kids have fun with it. I think WHAT you feed your kids and the quality atmosphere you create is more important than the where. I can count on 1 hand the number of meals my mom cooked...yet we always ate well and I LOVED dinner time with her.

She didn't like the direction Matt was steering the boat.

I feel like that boat ride was a perfect analogy for Amber's life. There she is, like a beauty queen in the back of her Cadillac, waving to her fans. She was supposed to just sit back and enjoy herself while Matt takes care of everything -- except Matt has the wheel and she wants it. She's frustrated with where he's going and just can't help back-seat-driving, cuz it's driving her crazy he can't see how stupid and wrong he's being. Meanwhile Matt bats away her protests like mosquitoes and surges forward with fake confidence. She knows he's lost and has to decide whether to berate him in front of the cameras and make him look like the dumbass he is -- or she can keep her mouth shut to carry on with this role she has to play, the lucky woman with the great boyfriend. Leah was totally digging steering the boat (but ugh, she had to be physically close to him). Amber was thinking, "Why does she get to steer - but according to him, I don't know where we're supposed to go? Who says?" Jealous of her own daughter again, baffled about why this stinky manipulative gasbag gets to decide everything when it was supposed to be HER day. And meanwhile THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A LIFE JACKET ON LEAH. This is Amber's life.

I braced myself because I was expecting her to go into a snippy rage that her mother was six centuries old and would die soon, or something like that. She didn't even respond.

Farrah's party looked skanky AF!  Seriously, it looked like any random "klassy klub" scene you've seen on any number of reality shows (Real World, Jersey Shore, etc.). We have seen her rent-a-friend Paola before, but it was a least a season ago.
