Any full-length reception satin dress pix?

I only saw the (wrinkly) upper torso one and thought that satin would perhaps reveal a pregnancy.

I can't figure out when satin is a good fabric choice. Maybe for the Big Sleep? No bulges or wrinkles possible.

Jessa's dress seems familiar like it was a dress she had before she got married. Now she added what appears to be a white slip under it because her belly made the dress ride up. And Jill with her stupid mustard colored sweater in 91 degree heat. UGH

I'm sure the only clothing etiquette Michelle knows is Gothard, and he must not be aware of only the bride wearing white to a wedding.

Lol, forgot that fast, eh? Surely you recall Meredith as the Keeping Up With the Joneses baby Anna had to have so she wouldn't be outshined by Pris, Jill and Jessa. She's quickly turning out to be the Forgotten One like Jordyn. It seems like Jana is doing the majority of the caretaking for her.

Maybe I am softening in my old age, but I loved FAMY's dress. Sometimes less is more, and the lack of gaudy bling is refreshing. She looked lovely. And I'm sitting in the "she's prego" section re: the cleavage.

 

The gold dress -- uh, no.

 

Color me SHOCKED that J-Chelle wore white to a wedding that she wasn't the bride in. How passive-aggressive.

 

And I am also dying to know which Duggars decided to stay at the reception when the dancing and drinking started...

Amy isn't wearing a mesh midriff see through gown. She has a satiny sash that appears to be in her rose gold color but with her self tan it does sort match her skin tone. In pix from behind you can see the sash trailing down her dress.

 

Oh, thank you. That was driving me nuts. Should have thought of a sash -- but, wow, it does look like her skin to me.... And I suppose that I sort of thought Amy's taste might lead her to a wedding gown with a mesh midriff! (I can see someone designing one on Project Runway.)

I thought it was nice as well. I think most of us were judging it from that initial pic where the way Amy and Dillon were posed was smushing her boobs up and over the bodice. In the pictures where Amy is standing normally the dress is much more modest and demure.

He would have. But he couldn't find one where the numbers went up to 19. For some reason, they kept stopping at 12.

No Jana never get's a break, she is everybody's mom.  Meanwhile MEchelle doesn't seem to be looking after any kids, as usual.  MEchelle obviously thought the wedding was all about her.

The trouble with that unforgiving silky shiny material is that it doesn't drape nicely. To make it work she would have needed Spanx, and who does that outdoors in late Southern summer?

Jill looks downright depressed.  Jessa looked like she was about to go into labor. Guess what girls - your pimp daddy JimBob couldn't dictate Amy's wedding!

Honestly--and this is coming from someone who isn't all that enamored with Amy--I think she looks just beautiful. If she wants to bare some cleavage, well, you're only young once! I'd much rather see her embracing her sexuality than covering up to please the patriarch. I do believe the the huggy-squeezy pose they're in is doing a little of the pushing up, but there's no doubt she's comfortable showing skin. That's okay with me. I wish my own decolletage was still so smooth! And if she was at all swayed to pick that dress as a great big nonverbal fuck you to the rest of the Duggars, you go, Amy.

I think she looks beautiful as well. I quite like the dress and don't care about her boobs.

 

Congrats to Amy and her husband! They seem very happy.

Are we taking bets on which Duggar will be the next to marry?  Joseph and Tori Bates?  Clown college has married student housing (like on Boy Meets World).

The venue was gorgeous and Famy managed to put together a classy affair for the short amount of time she had. The bridesmaid dresses are modest and not as tacky as I thought they would be. No pictures of Deanna yet?

Do we know if Amy threw the traditional bouquet and if any Duggars caught it (or avoided it)?   Since there are still many young children in the Duggar household I'm thinking that JB & Mechelle want to keep at least a couple of the older girls around.  They may be trying to pimp out Jana to the next Mr. wrong since she's getting older and Jinger and JoyAnna can take some of her mommy duties.  They have to keep at least 2 sister moms around for all of those kids.  They probably want to marry off some of the guys to keep them from finding girlfriends outside of courtship. Since they have been showing off Jana lately on their FB photos I think they may be looking for suitors for her.

Boob wore his famous gray suit with a blue shirt and a blue tie.

 

I'm still looking forward to seeing Deanna's dress.

Per the Us Weekly article, "the newlyweds opted for a sermon on roller coasters".  When I first misread that, I absurdly pictured the preacher on roller skates.  Even reading it properly - I have no idea what it means.  Is it Fundie code?

At this point, I'm sure Jana feels most natural with a baby in her arms.  It must be second nature.  Personally, I would take Meredith, too.  That means someone else is chasing around the M boys.

I think Amy looks good in her wedding dress, too.  The only super-cleavage pic is when her new hubbie is hugging her.  One of the bridesmaids dresses I wore had a corset bodice.  When standing I was fine, but sitting down would almost pop my boobs out of the top.  I'm sure if someone stood behind me and hugged me tight, they would have attempted to escape as well.

 

I have no opinion on, nor am I interested in, the status of Amy's uterus.  I haven't seen a pic of her in two years, and she looks the same size.  In some of her engagement photos she looked super skinny, as if she had starved herself down during her "singing career".  Our bodies have a way of returning to our typical size.

 

I have absolutely no interest in how Amy spells fiancé.  In fact, I'm a rather well-educated and well-read woman, and I would have spelled it the same way.  There are at least one thousand things I could say negatively about this family, and that is not one of them. 

 

On the subject of modesty, I was most concerned with the blonde in the short black dress.  Her ass is flashing the camera as she leans over to attend to Amy's veil.

ME TOO!!! I was thinking the same thing. My Mom has taught me to beware dresses with hems that "creep." But yeah, she's seriously defrauding a LOT of people, LOL!

I kept thinking the same thing. She wasn't raised by JB and Michelle. She has never claimed to be a Gothardite or follow any of JB's rules.

Not quite by herself. Amy's legal father (Terry Jordan) was always around, and Deanna eventually married him, after the restraining orders and herpes lawsuits. Edited by Kokapetl

I don't know that I consider being escorted by Jedidiah 'clannish'. The only way to really know that is to know how that decision came about. In traditional weddings people are escorted down the aisle by groomsmen or ushers all the time. It's just a tradition that of most people doesn't mean anything more than that's how it's done. Just like for 99% of the people having a bride escorted down the aisle by her father is a tradition, not a symbol of the father owning the daughter. We know that in JB's family he owns the daughters. But that doesn't apply to Deanna/Amy's family. So she might have wanted to be escorted because of tradition rather than feeling that as a woman she couldn't walk alone.

Amy seems to favorrevisionist history when it comes to her family. "Now I can stop wearing long skirts?" Huh, when was she ever forced to wear long skirts to associate with her uncle Jim Bob? That is not what's been recorded for the past ten years. For all his faults, Jim Bob has never shunned Amy or his sister for not have the same beliefs as him. In fact, IIRC he seemed quite proud of his family and seemed to espouse the fact he was going to stay close to his family no matter what. It may be the one good thing about him.

Yes, Jedidiah is a name.  It's biblical, versus made up (like Jinger). 

 

I'm sure the decision to have women seated by ushers was a decision made by Amy, her groom, and their immediate families.  I'm sure Gothard and JB had no part in it.  Tradition does not always equal patriarchy.
