Jill, Derick & the Kids: Moving On!!

I think most of the content here is not harsh with Jill and Dill.

The discussion is usually about what they post.  When you post things, people will talk. That's the point of the post...to get people talking.

The post Bible verses.  We are doing what they want...talking about the verse.

or we talk about Jill and Dill's life and mission work.  They have a blog detailing their mission work and we discuss that.  We have talked about Miss Cathy and while people have different opinions on her religious views, we all wish her good health. We have talked about Derick's health and the reality is, he does look sick, weak and very thin.  Every single person here has expressed concern that he NEEDS to see a doctor. Repeatedly. We have all been more than concerned about Jill and her mental health.  We have all wished that she would see a therapist. We all were very upset at her botched homebirth and we all were glad that Jill and Izzy survived safely.

And we have ALL worried about Jill and her heart breaking situation of being molested by Josh as a young child, with apparent no quality counseling/help.

Honestly, the "snarkers" have showed more concern for Jill than her fans.  In some cases, even her own family.

If Jill sat and read all of my posts, I would be fine with that.

That's what I'd like to believe. I think that's probably what keeps me posting here besides the wonderful sense of community.  It's like we're sending them messages that they should seek therapy or take a class or they need to see a doctor because they don't look well.

Even those of us given what most would deem a normal and nurturing childhood, adolescence, and launch into adulthood, many of us still have issues that we have needed meds and therapy to deal with from time to time. I can't imagine having to bury and suppress and repress all they have had to--and what it's going to be like once all that toxic sludge seeps through.

Even Josh...how many times have we read a post HOPING that Josh would get real treatment.  We all groaned in complete despair that Josh went to "pray It away rehab.  We even double checked...no licensed psychs on staff...devastation on the "snark boards".  Yeah, we are real mean...NOT!

I wish the Duggar girls would read over here.  Jill would be shocked at how much empathy & sympathy there is for her...way more than her own family gives her.  I tend to think that if we all met up with Jill at a restaurant, she would feel supported.

Even Joshley gets some sympathy here. He doesn't get a pass by any means from any of us, but we know he never got any real help after being irreparably jacked up by his nut job parents.

Every mean thing I've ever said about any Duggar here is all really directed at their parents for everything they have done to suppress and repress any natural curiosity, feeling, or spark in all their kids from Smuggley to little Josie. Their abject failure of their social experiment and the damage it has done to each one of their children is reflected in every tweet, post, or dead behind the eyes photograph from or about their offspring.

No doubt Derick and the rest feel persecuted. We all know that someone, probably Jessa, read these boards and sometimes I feel bad about somethings I write. But it really wouldn't hurt them to open their minds to some constructive albeit snarky criticism.

I don't think the Duggars read this board or any like it b/c it's critical and ungodly. We'd be immediately dismissed as haters to be ignored, mocked, and maybe prayed for. More likely, a lowly TLC intern gets paid minimum wage to read all the anti-Duggar boards and put together a list of current complaints so they can do an "FU Internets" segment.

I don't think Jill goes beyond Pinterest on the internet, however I don't think Jessa can help herself and reads everything posted about her.

The Duggars choose to put themselves on reality tv.  No one is forcing them to do it. Unlike many of us, they are making good money for very little real. work.  If they are hurt by people's snark, then they should quit & get 9 -5 jobs like many of us do.  As long as they are on tv, I will continue to snark on them.  If they don't like it, too bad.

Not all people on reality TV shows are snark worthy...if they are likeable and/or the show is good.  But when you're a pack of smug hickydoos who post boring stuff and your show is lame, and you're also preachy and messed up and tacky, you're going to get some snark.

I think Jill gets snarked on the least.  We instinctively know she is fragile and hanging by a thread.

Not much love for Derick on these boards but Derick asks for it.  There is also a lot of concern for his health and that botched oral surgery.

It's a pity the joys of Zumba could never be contemplated by this lot. Even if Derick would think it was fun, Muffy wouldn't even fathom dancing to those infectious Latin percussion beats when Boob wouldn't provide batteries to musical toys  Many Brazilian music numbers don't even have lyrics.  25 years of indoctrination that they can't listen to "music with a beat". I can't even imagine what a joyless life they lead.

We know from seeing them attempt interpretive dance that neither of them are at all coordinated. Zumba is great exercise as well.  Dance teaches balance and coordination, which could benefit them both and give them something they could enjoy doing together.

ReFit = Conservative Christian Zumba. I wonder if they could do that or if it is too worldly. I went to one a few times at what I thought was a more mainstream, casual, non-denominational church (think lattes and flip flops, most people under 50) and it wasn't for me. They used Mandisa, TobyMac, etc. songs instead of regular Zumba music, but most of the women were more concerned with being semi-modest and making sure no men were there. If you didn't have on a huge tshirt and capris, and sneer at the women who weren't 50 pounds overweight, you weren't going to fit in.

Thank you! I had wondered if they had a Christian version of Zumba. Since there is such a thing as Christian death metal, Christian style Zumba doesn't sound so ridiculous or far fetched. I guess the Duggars have to set themselves apart by declaring it too worldly and the music has a beat. They say they don't listen even to contemporary Christian music.

ReFit was pretty much the same formula as Zumba - you learn several moves and everything is just a combo of those moves. The music is OK. I like Mandisa, Mary Mary, etc., but don't really care for most Christian Pop. Most Zumba music is corny, too, so that was about the same. I do have to roll my eyes at anyone who has to "Christianize" everything.

Honestly, with a different group of women, I probably would've enjoyed it. You can find the same insecure, self concious women in normal aerobics classes, too. This places is was more that Curves crowd who are trying to avoid men and work out in huge baggy frumpwear. I'm past the fitness level and age of wearing a sports bra and booty shorts, but I'm not going to pile on layers, restrict my movement and die of overheating just to please the Frump Police.

A famewhore is a famewhore is a famewhore. I actually have mad respect for Jinger for not caving into social media like her sisters. Reality stars, unlike real stars, tend to read and even respond to posts on social media (I got a response to a question from Tamra Barney - RHOC - about a year ago). They need to ignore the chatter and just do their thing. Looking straight at you Jessa, Triple D, and Famy. Some credit to Jill; if she's reading, she's not engaging in any way, including banning. Whoever is running the DFO FB page (Mechelle? Jana? both?) loves to ban initial commenters, but if you comment snark within a comment, you're generally safe from their wrath.

For the moment.  I really think it's only a matter of time before she is just as into sharing every single non-sharing-worthy moment.  I have a feeling they are only being somewhat quiet because they have news they're sharing for next season, and/or their early life as newlyweds is being filmed.

I don't know. Jill and Jessa were both on social media pretty much the second they got engaged. Jinger balked, and as a result, there are fitty fitty gazillion fake accounts in her (and Jeremy's) names. She should have at least gotten the name when she got engaged and made the account private. I imagine Joy WILL be on social media once her engagement is announced, but even now, I bet there are already a ton of Joy Forsyth IG accounts out there.

It doesn't matter if WE don't think she's coherent. Apparently, SHE thinks she's coherent, and that hasn't stopped hundreds of thousands of millineals who think they're the shizznat. Joy seems to like her phone, and I think her inlaws would like her out there promoting their stupid Family Camp. As a pastor's wife, even one so insignificant, I think it's best for Jinger to stay away from FB and Instagram and just add to their blog as she sees fit. I think she just needs to be quieter than the others since Jeremy's ministry is so limited. HE can beg for money through his parent church without the need for a DONATE button.

I hope that was reasonably coherent. If not, maybe I'll pull a Jinger and disconnect. :D

Jill, give your toddler a big piece of paper and a color crayon. You don't make a toddler draw on a 2 inch square of paper!

Yeah, I know, right?  Why does the Giant White Baby get a Post It square, when the orphans in Danger America got a whole page from a coloring book and a single crayon?

It's a cute picture of Izzy, but come on Jill, avoid the snark by showing him with an actual coloring book and crayons or colored pencils.  Technically, he's not coloring with a lead pencil, he's scribbling.

No, I don't think anyone would have thought Israel did that. Mommas often write their child's name on things. Maybe to imprint on them...I'd be gobsmacked if he actually tried to imitate it, but there's not enough room on the paper for him to try.

Wonder when Derelict is going to wake up and smell the coffee, dissolve Dillard Famiky Ministries, refund the donations, and get out there and get himself a big boy job again? He's got an accounting degree, so he could find work at a Christian owned tax prep firm or even come crawling back to Walmart with his tail between his legs. Sorry the missionary thing didn't work out for you, Derick. Jilly Muffin wants no part of it, so why don't you just take a mission trip for 2 to 3 weeks or even a week once a year. No shame, dude, but it looks like missionary work isn't for you...standing there like a scruffy Stoner Hippie version of Jesus isn't going to convert people...it's called missionary work, because it involves actual work.

If fundraising, I mean grifting, is more your thing, then please do it on behalf of someone else.  You've got a stay at home wife, one child, and another on the way. Repair your online reputation NOW. Post only pictures of Izzy and if you MUST post a Bible verse, post one everyone can get behind. And please, unless you want to be as unemployable as Joshley, STOP posting your self righteous, legalistic screeds against abortion, LGBT rights, politics, and the like. Employers don't like their employees doing that, particularly if it can be traced back to them or reflects negatively on them. You're entitled to believe and opine as you choose among like minded individuals, but you've got to keep your online reputation nice.

The End.

The purpose of churches, ministries, and evangelism is to bring people to God, not to send them running the other way screaming with fright. People like Derick and the Duggars and many others have ruined the whole experience of church for a good many people, who were so scarred by it that they likely will never come back.

It is well documented in the four Gospels that Jesus clearly embraced all those that society shunned and marginalized and clearly had no place at the table. He also shocked the Pharisees with His feminist views and the notion that love was the higher Law.  That's the brand of Jesus these people need to be bringing.

If Derick wants to pontificate and keep to his screeds, then he needs to make his SM private.

The thing that I find really amusing and odd was Jill's talking head about their anniversary weekend meal at the hotel.  "In Central America, you have to cut up your own fruits and vegetables "....

WTF. most people in the USA cut up their own fresh vegetables because they like to choose their own produce and remove all the yucky stuff they don't want like tomato navels and brown and rotten pieces of lettuce. I can see why these girls who were taught to "cook' by opening cans and boxes, don't gave a clue what to do when challenged with breaking down fresh produce.  Muffy found herself face to face with whole food, just as it is. Of course, washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit and veg takes too much work for idle Muffy.

I could be wrong, but isn't the reason the Duggs & friends prefer to work for each other (or their own company), is to make sure they can participate fully in their jebus beliefs without fear of retribution, such as being fired, or demoted.

I don't think Derelict is going to worry too much about how presents himself on social media to potential employers when it's unlikely he will look beyond the church, his DONATE button or Boob.

Yeah, true enough, but if Derick were still at Walmart, he would have doubtless been given a stern talking to for his use of social media. The fact that Derick worked at Walmart was common knowledge because it aired on TLC. Derick is not an ideal ambassador for Walmart.

That was the same scene where Jill had trouble with the complexities of Minute Rice. And these were the children who actually got slivers of Michelle's attention. They may not have been taught to cook as kids, but geez, it doesn't take rocket science to read the pictures on the back of a minute rice box. Also, millions of people aren't gourmet chefs when they first leave home, but either by trial and error, reading recipes, watching cooking shows, etc. learn to be quite good home cooks. No excuse for these adults to look at fresh veggies like they've encountered aliens.

Some fundies  think Christians are being persecuted in the USA because of their beliefs.  That has been rarely the case except for those that hold  extremely crazy views on things & they tend to get a pass on their crazy views in the bible belt areas of the US.

I learned to cook from watching cooking shows.  But are the allowed to do that?  They don't read, so I doubt they read cookbooks(which I love).  I see your point and I agree to a certain extent. You can certainly read the back of the box, but they were never exposed to out of the ordinary things.  They don't have friends to bounce ideas off of or show them new things.  They are really ill-equipped to try new experiences.  Very sad and shame on their parents.

By now, Jessa and Jill at least are in their own homes where they can decide to read or watch whatever they want. Most churches and church type groups (thinking Big Sandy, Southern Women shows, etc), love to sell cook books, trade recipes, brag about who brought what to pot licks, etc. They live on Pinterest, which is 75% recipes and home making tips. Besides that, have they never gone to a restaurant, eaten something they like, and said hmmm, that looks good, I'll make that at home?

Adults not figuring out how to cut up an apple or make a simple dinner are just pathetic.
