Jeff faces greater challenges when he returns to house flipping in the Season 9 premiere. Also: Jeff must find new clients after lucrative jobs take an unexpected turn; and a current flip is still under construction.

In this episode they said he was new.

Perhaps they meant new as a project manager because last year he was Gage's assistant or maybe you have to survive a full year before you aren't considered new.

I am pretty sure that Zoila still considers Gage "new".

Best thing about tonight's episode was there wasn't much Zoila.  I can't stand her.

Me either.

So are Jeff, Gage, and Zoila all living in half of the house?

I love Matt. I am glad he is still around and seems to have more responsibility.

I am glad for all the house porn.

Matt was Gage's 'mini-me' at the end of last season.  It was great to see how they just looooooved working together amid all the chaos that is Jeff's working environment.  Gage yearned for a more professional atmosphere - as did I.  Even Vanina let me down last year.

How about Jeff being fired from that furniture company.  Were they that angry because a beloved employee was made to look small and conniving?  The cameras can only serve up what you give them - just sayin'.

I love me some Jeff and even like Gage but they have a rude awakening once the baby arrives. You can't live in a house with a baby and have a big demolition, renovation going on. That was some brutal noise going on and the makeshift lunchroom/kitchen, are you kidding me?  I hope they plan on having it finished and living there for a long time by the time the baby is born.  Also, children need a sense of security and normalcy so I hope Jeff isn't planning to continue to flip every house he live in every six months to a year.

I am so confused about the Living Spaces issue. I get that Jeff was fired as creative director, but I don't think the company was really fair in doing that. I think Jeff said the employee he interacted with went to HR and that's why the problem escalated, but yeah. I wonder if he'll be able to successfully sue.

Jeff was treated unfairly by Living Spaces. A company as a large as Living Spaces has internal legal council. It is plain wrong that Jeff does not have the resources to go after a corporate giant like that. GoFundMe opportunity? Glad to see that Jeff is putting out the word on TV and social media about being wrongly terminated.

Jeff's products will be everywhere in a few years.

Andy said that Gage is Jeff's husband on WWHL last night. I wonder if we will see a proposal or wedding this season.

Jeff seems more subdued and under a lot of pressure. He seems to have a better team in place this year and Jenni is back to sharing desk space with Jeff.

Yes, hopefully the major noise stuff will be done by then. I'm not sure a baby will stop Jeff from moving to new flips. I noticed he said a number of times that his father did the same thing and this was how he grew up.

Jeff seems to have no problem subjecting his beloved pets to the daily stress and commotion of a major demolition/renovation, which must cause them endless distress.  I doubt he'll be any more considerate with a baby.

I understand why Jeff isn't moving forward with the lawsuit. There must have been something in his contract about the loser paying all attorney's fees and costs. That would be both their attorney and the other side's. That could put Jeff under quite a bit of debt if he lost.

I couldnt believe when Gage made a request that Zoila "make"* Jeff an omelet she did it without hesitation and even did one for him with a smile and absolutely no complaints!

*How rubbery is a reheated takeout omelet?

Mary of Marty and Mary was getting on my last good nerve.  If you're hiring a designer and your renovation budget is in the high 6 figures, don't you want them to have a pretty good idea/vision for what will and won't work in your house?

I kind of thought it was shitty of Jeff to name the celebs going through the divorce that halted his work.  Yeah it's public but it made him look petty.  They didn't stiff him on the house, they changed their mind, it happens.

That said, I'd loooove to be able to afford to live in a Jeff Lewis flip.  Might be too scared to hear him talk about it in subsequent episodes though.  $40,000/$50,000/$60,000 isn't a "small job" sum to me at all.

I bet Zoila's English is perfect lol.

I get meals from a delivery service (Freshly) and most the of the breakfasts are omelets or frittatas and they come out of the microwave really well.  The Freshly meals are even sent from out of state and there's no problem.  I used to get meals from a local service where they were cooked locally and brought to my door via courier and those eggs were fine too.  To me it looked more like that's what she was heating up.  LA has no shortage of these services and it would make sense if you didn't have a kitchen and didn't want to live on take-out for every meal.

If Jenni's parent/teacher conference was so important, why wasn't her husband there?

He is a medical doctor and probably was too busy, I would assume.

My husband and I both work, so we take turns going to parent/teacher conferences.  They are important, but the whole family doesn't have to be there.

There's a good chance Jeff's lawyer will work on contingency if Jeff has a case. Given what we was on screen of Jeff and his crew talking about that girl, he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

These types of cases are not taken on a contingency. Know from personal experience. Three different attorneys told us that we had a case but we would have to pay a retainer and costs upfront. We decided to keep reaching directly out to the company ourselves. It took a year but we are back to working with each other again.

"That girl" at LS should not be working in design if she cannot take any criticism.

Lawsuits in general are VERY expensive.  I was involved in one the last year that was clear cut (removal of trustee for stealing money and equity) yet this bitch drug it out, didn't respond, and did everything in her power to break us financially.  She did and we ended up in mediation which we ended up coming out victorious but there is nothing to compel a person to comply unless you spend MORE money.  This simple case where we had evidence of her theft (law enforcement also doesn't deal with elder abuse well or at all) and we ended up spending over 100K to end up with her not complying with what she agreed to do.  So I would never recommend anyone suing for anything unless you have very deep pockets and all the time in the world to deal with it.

Army brat here - similar existence.

The most recent episode showed the beloved pets having terrible reactions to all the demolition.  I had a dog lose his voice from barking at roofers so demolition/renovation is not something that pets deal with well.

Didn't they rehab another house with the idea that it would be their long-term home where they could raise a family?  Why are they doing it again?
