There's a commercial for an overpriced soup delivery company with a dad who has just moved to a new house, and he forgets to feed his children until he gets a delivery of soup. 🙄 So hey, if you're a neglectful parent, you might get rescued by an unexpected soup delivery!

Going back to the Mara talk, or generally about the Progressiv characters; it's just crazy to me that Flo has been around so long, that she has her own cast of side characters! Really can't think of another similar situation off the top of my head. (I guess Geic o expanded from one caveman to several; but they all weren't recurring.)

I didn't know this area existed here, is this a safe space to express my disgust for not just Lumi, but every other 'deodorant' ad that uses the phrase, 'pits, privates...' Just, NO. I don't need to hear that shit thankyouverymuch.

And to the makers of Jardiance, why on earth do you continue using actors who would be considered clinically overweight/obese in your ads? I mean, I get that they want people at risk or who have high A1C scores to identify with the people in the ads, but my first thought is, 'no lady, you're not eating well if you're still at best overweight. The whole campaign annoys me no end! All the focus is on overweight and obese people taking a pill. Why not include exercise, heart health diet, and people who've dropped weight and lowered their scores? Oh that's right, then they'll sell less pills. Grrrrrrr.

ETA: I say this as someone who is considered overweight myself, and trying hard to lose the extra pounds to be healthier and not need a pill like this.

what i find worse is the wegovy commercial with the gal whose comment is that she's keeping it off, which implies that she's hit her target weight and this drug is helping her maintain that. she is the most overweight person in the commercial!

The only thing that could make it worse is if she declared she was “literally drownding.”

The Charmin commercial with the red bear mom and son. Son comes in with toilet paper pieces stuck to his butt (a little gross) which he tries to hide behind his school book. The mom bear knows he hasn't been using Charmin. It looks like he just got home from school. She should be happy the school actually had toilet paper. It was always hit and miss. If they had it you were lucky if it hadn't already been stolen by the time you used the bathroom. She really thinks a school is going to shell out money for Charmin toilet paper? Really? Most schools can't even get the funding they need for the basics. Fancy toilet paper ain't ever going to happen.

There's a part of one of the commercials for Cerakote (products to make cars shiny, headlights clear, etc.) that bugs me.  They have a guy in a green truck who drives by some ladies at an outdoor eatery slowly and nods at them like he's going, "Hey ladies, look at my shiny truck!!"  And I think all three women are supposed to be impressed, but there's one who is so taken by the guy/truck that she starts twirling her hair.  Sometimes it kind of makes me laugh but it's on way too often during every sporting event.

It's an easy mistake to make.  I only know the correct title because I have a cassette a friend copied for me from the album and she wrote all the song titles on the insert.  Yes, I am also old. lol.

It only implies that she's lost weight and not gained it back, not that she's made her target weight.  Although we have no idea how much she allegedly weighed to begin with, so she could be at a weight which she and her doctor agreed was a better one for her.

My problem with the whole "I'm keeping it off" is that she's keeping it off because she's still on Wegovy, and the commercial doesn't make it clear.  Once a patient goes off the drug, they almost always gain most, if not all, of the weight back.

I think it's an Ubereats commercial where a woman is lying in a bed which is in a store entryway and the door automatically hits the bed over. And Over. And Over again. The sound irritates me no end. Also there is a New York State lottery commercial where some office dude builds a time machine and a coworker keeps appearing and reappearing so he can experience the joy of telling her he won the lotto. Or something? I don't know. But it's also extremely annoying to have the same lines repeat. If I don't like the sound once, I don't want to hear it repeated!

Chase commercial the guy apparently spends years telling people how he's going to redo his kitchen. It never once occured to him to save up for it until he talks to the guy with Chase. Really? How else did he plan on getting it done? 

The optum commercial about debts they get a lower balance and pay off their debt. So they can go off and create new debt. Apparently they learned nothing from the huge debt. Like savings accounts, living within their means. 

The couple wanting to go on safari for their honeymoon and by a ranch in Montana. Their financial guy tells them they can discuss all of that. Is preparing for the future and/or unexpected expenses no longer a thing? Savings account, emergency funds, retirement accounts? It's all about what they can blow their money on. You'd think there would be more commercials of couples being responsible with their money given that five years ago we had a pandemic where a lot of people lost their jobs. Or at very lease save up for the stuff they want.

And the worst thing to me is he's the same guy in the Hyundai Tucson bad date commercial, so although I wasn't looking up the first time the Chase commercial came on in my house, I knew immediately who that was and hated the commercial.  He's so... blech.  And, the commercial is annoying.

The only part of that Chase ad I like is when he's prattling on about what shade of white he wants the kitchen to be and his friends (clearly sick of hearing about this yet again) start reciting some of the options at the exact same time that he says them.  I doubt he would take the hint and stop repeating himself though.
