Season 18 Live Feed Discussion: Their Lives are Almost as Boring as Ours!

I am not following the live-feed reports as obsessively this year as in past years, and I have a question.  A lot of people seem to be warming to Natalie, as am I, and losing respect for Bridgitte, as am I, but I'm not hearing much about Bronte.  Aside from her incredibly irritating "sexy baby voice", she seems okay and even potentially kind of cool and smart to me.  Has she done or said something on the live feeds to suggest otherwise?

Michelle hates Frank.  Just like the rest of the 8 pack, she's nice to his face.  They don't want Frank to catch on to the plan to get him out.

Bronte's actions in week one, when she was joining in with Jozea/Victor/Paul on their racist and somewhat misogynistic remarks definitely tainted my opinion of her, and she'll have to do something pretty spectacular to get me to like her. Her telling Victor (or was it Paul?) off that one time wasn't enough, sadly. I'd be fine with sacrificing her this week for Tiffany to stick around. Plus Bronte brings no drama to the feeds. 

Sometimes, I wonder about Michelle's loyalty with Frank. Sometimes, I think she hates him a lot, and other times, I feel like she'd keep him over anyone else. Although now Bridgette is showing her loyalty to Frank more so than Michelle.

I think they want Tiffany to stay cuz she can go at Frank, but they don't want to spook him and vote against him so he knows something is up. Basically Tiffany is not in a good spot and she HAS to win Veto.

Bridgette said that if Paul or Tiff comes down because of POV she will put up Corey.   So all hope isn't lost.  Yet her target will increase if she does put up Corey.   Nicole will not like that and I doubt Paulie will neither.

Seems like Tiffany is going. But that could change - although Paulie/Z/Frank for sure want her gone for sure, so I don't know that it will.

Nobody is telling her Frank won the Road Kill (she thinks Paul won). 

This is the same nominations as last week right now, huh? If Bronte/Paul make it out of this one, I could see them making it farther than I expected in the game.

Michelle has issues with Bridgette because of Bridgette's comments in the first week. Michelle passed out during a comp (I think the first Roadkill comp). Zakiyah joined a group of people (listening and spying, not contributing) talking in the backyard. At one point, Paul said that he wouldn't mind if Michelle just dropped dead or something to that effect. Bridgette, a nurse, said that if Michelle passed out again, she would revive her but she'd shave off her eyebrows in the meantime. Zakiyah filled in the rest of the Fatal Five girls about the conversation and while Michelle took it pretty good, she seemed particularly put out by the eyebrow thing and said to the live feeds viewers that Bridgette should lose her job for it. 

Vying for Frank's attention probably doesn't help matters but I think it was Eyebrowgate that really set things off between the two of them.

Paulie talked to James about working together and suggested they pull Corey in. The funny thing is James knows about Paulie's other alliance with Corey/Z/Nicole/Day, but Paulie doesn't know James knows. The Paulie wants to be Derrick so bad - I can't wait until it backfires.

What's James' deal? He's not conventionally handsome (white) but he looks like he'd clean up pretty well. He doesn't seem to have a horrible personality, pranks notwithstanding. Ouch! We ain't all uneducated hicks round these here southern states, ya know ;) Sure our state governments* can and do suck quite often, but not all southerners are the same, and not all of them need to leave the south and get some education. Believe it or not, there are some places in the south where a decent education can be had- no northern passport necessary! (I have no idea what educational background James has.) And Trump supporters are everywhere.

*phrased awkwardly to avoid singling out any certain state, as this isn't supposed to be a political thread.

Note: I was born and raised in the North and moved to the South a few years ago. Unfortunately, the South doesn't have a monopoly on poor educational institutions or less-than-progressive attitudes.

I often hear a house-guest talk about Jury. Apparently there's a financial incentive to make jury as you get paid till the end of the show. Poor Glen probably only took home about 2 bucks for his 15 minutes. So how much do we think they get paid? I assume recruits, like Tiffany or Paulie, get a larger check than the poor schmuck who just tries out. I further assume  that the vets have negotiated a higher rate of pay because of whatever.

I hope James is making plenty. I know he needs money and He and Natalie are my two favorites.

You do get paid until the end of the show, but it's really very, very low for the return CBS is getting. Somewhere around $1,000 per week for the newbies, probably closer to $2,000 for the vets (the All-Star season made $4,000 per week, but I doubt the vets make that much) and I guess somewhere in between for the recruits like Paulie and Tiffany.

So yes, if you want to lock in that grand per week, you need to make jury.

It makes me wonder how much Frankie Grande got per week. Somewhere between vet and All-Star pay, probably, with CBS expecting him to bring in his sister's fans. Wow, did that backfire in an overwhelming way.

Glen is actually getting a much more decent bit of moolah than former First Evictees thanks to the Battle Back. He's been on the payroll at least an extra two weeks since he's been sequestered. I don't know how the Battle Back is being done so maybe he'll keep collecting a paycheck until all the Battle Back comps air on July 22nd?

They are all getting paid something to be in Sequester while waiting for the Battle Back. Even if they did already have the competition between Jozea & Glenn- the loser still can't go home since then someone could possibly see them out in the "wild". So I'm sure once we know the winner of that, the rest of them will be released.

I am personally repulsed and incensed by Frank Eudy's repeated batteries upon the women in the House - and I am equally repulsed and incensed by CBS.  At the very least, CBS is tolerating and enabling this behavior; at worst, CBS is an accessory to a crime for not taking action immediately when a HG commits a crime against another HG.  I'm surprised somebody in the studio area hasn't called the cops and reported live broadcasts of assaults on women.

I could be wrong, but I think Nicole was talking to Corey and said she took home about 50K her last season. That's more than I thought they'd make.

Is she joking? Tiffany has said that multiple times and she runs back to Frank with it. Bridgette and Bronte just decided to "play for themselves." Bridgette said she didn't come here to be a floater or hide behind a showmance. It's too late for that epiphany - she basically has the only three people who wouldn't have come after her on the block right now.

No. I reread what I wrote. I'm generally a little more aware than that. So "left the south" was a mistake and I'm sorry. But you can't argue with more education (even if it is southern :-)

I think the battle back challenge might be this:

Producers show players pictures of Frank's relatives. Players must both accurately name the person and put the pictures innto familial groups. And Just In Case - Grodner has planned to reward Frank with an HOH and his prize will be, you guessed it, pictures of his relatives with info on the back. For Frank's eyes only. Would that be seen as trying to manipulate the result?

I can't help it, I love the Spy Girls. And this is coming from someone who absolutely hated Bronte the first week of the feeds. I thought it was sweet and fun when they all revealed their "secrets". My question is, is Frank out of the DR yet? Someone mentioned a bit ago that he was in there for two hours. Wondering what that's about.

Love the fact that the Spy Girls want to put up Corey as a renom, and don't want Tiff to leave. Hate the fact that it doesn't matter.

I'm going to give CBS the benefit of the doub.  

If I can see that they are building Frank to a villain edit on the main show, I can appreciate that.  But if this ends up getting glossed over on the network show, I'm all over that petition, because that is total BS.

But, I know that reality TV is about villains, so if he is put out as a villain....at least there is some sort of reasoning behind it that isn't just "well, we have to protect a dude sexually assaulting women on TV."  But if they aren't building him to villain status than that is EXACTLY what it is...and thats BS.

I don't watch the live feed.   reading about Frank here makes me sad, as it seems some of the women are feeling helpless.  In a normal situation, they might speak up.  But this is mimicking real-life situations in which women shut up and put up with harassment and abuse in order to stay employed.    It's less common than it was a few decades ago, but damn, I feel for these women!   Setting limits, being assertive, telling men they don't have the right to touch you or make sexual comments - all possible in some settings, but there are repercussions.  On BB, it seems that for women, it's just another  part of the competition, something they have to endure if they want to win.  

I hope BB learns fro this, and makes it clear that the expectation in the house is basic respect  - hands to self, no name-calling, and women's privacy and bodies being respected.

Also, James told Natalie that Tiffany is leaving this week, not Bronte. Natalie went back to Bronte and told her she's safe (but didn't spill any of the real information James told her) and that that they better just go with the flow.

Holy cow - my first time seeing the actual working landline phones in the house - that is so freakin' cool! I'm nostalgia-geeking out now, and feeling really old, knowing that a corded phone looks like a relic.

Even my cold, skeptical heart must admit that Nat and James chatting on it all pillow-talk style is pretty damn adorable. And he totally ratted out Frank as RK winner! Had to check JU for rankings, and dig that this little showmance is #1 and #2.

James is ex-military.  I would be surprised if he didn't vote R.

Yeah, but that particular R really has no military or government experience, and from his rhetoric is far more likely to get the US into a military conflict that could have been avoided.  

I admire the men and women of the armed forces too much to think that they should have to risk their lives over some overblown rhetoric.  Their lives are so precious that we should only ask for that sacrifice when its really important.

I think some men and women in the service might see it the same way.  But I do agree that generally vets tend to vote for the R, I just think this election is....special.

This is not throwing shade at R supporters.....I know a lot of people like him because he speaks his mind, but there is sometimes a flip side to that coin.

Ugh, can't believe Frank won again.  Makes me wonder if the reason they did the roadkill competition the way the did is so they can fix the winner each week.  I've been watching Unreal so I'm probably just paranoid but there was an episode the other day that (tagging just in case any unreal fans don't want a minor spoiler
