If you spent even 10 minutes watching her now-cancelled show, you may have noticed that she's moved past her prime.

I did watch her show and I wouldn't describe Meredith as past her prime in any sense. The problem with her talkshow is she began it as a solo show like Oprah, but she does not have the personality to work solo (see Queen Latifah and Anderson Cooper for the same problem--neither of whom could ever be argued as "past their prime"). By the time she changed the format to something View-esque, most viewers who would've tried it had already jumped ship.

If they could get Meredith to return, they'd be incredibly lucky. That's considering she'd even want to become involved with this shitshow in its current form. "Past their prime" better describes The View's present moderator.

My feeling on Meredith's show is that she is a nice woman. Queen Latifah is a nice woman. Anderson is a nice man. I liked all three shows.

But, unfortunately, that doesn't translate to ratings. Bitches like Whoopi, Sharon Osbourne, and shows like Maury are what get ratings today. Controversy and bad behavior is what the majority of the daytime audience apparently want today.

I just couldn't take airhead Sara Haines today. I won't watch next season with her but thought it might be a little fun until August but it isn't any fun. Sunny should have been there for the Stanford case talk.

Airhead Sara isn't going to last any longer than Jenny, Nicole, Rosie Perez, or Michelle. Hey maybe they should make a show with the five of them!

I enjoyed Meredith's show once she added the panel.  And usually that's all I watched.  I don't like the silly games and most of her guests I wasn't interested in.  But I do agree that controversy is what sells nowadays.  I didn't think Meredith was past her prime at all.  I don't mind Sara Haines at all.  I liked her on Kathie Lee and Hoda too.  does that make me an airhead too? (Insert smily face)

Is it too much to think that the producers are leaving Whoopi out to dry to showcase how bad she is at things like having to introduce topics, go to commercials, and fill dead air? You know as payback for her berating them on the air for years and years? She has one job! She acts like she doesn't care and that's disrespectful. The other panelists just giggle and giggle.

Also it's so odd how the show has never brought up that one of Trumps most famous acts of misogyny happened with one of there very own panelists! Someone did speak out about it Whoopi and that was years ago!

Whoopi can't think on her feet so to speak. She is an actress who needs a script. This makes her a lousy moderator and a lousy panel member. The only thing she can do is contradict someone and piss and moan about things and proclaim that she is right all the time.

Her "star power" means nothing to me.

I can only imagine how many of the production staff hate her guts. They must be beside themselves with glee when she screws up.

I was channel surfing and tuned back in just in time to hear Whoop pontificating about ... well.  I'm still not even sure what the hell she was lecturing people about.   At first she was saying "Man! Get the monsters off the street!" and I thought she was saying something about crime.  Then she veered into something about mothers and babies and I thought she was talking about Zika.  Then she started delivering some kind of a discourse on AIDS.  I still have no idea what the exact subject of her rant was, but it was clear that whatever it was, she is an expert and nobody else gets it.

It's like that with her all the time, no matter what the subject is.  She can be making most simple, obvious, uncontroverted point in the world but she will manage to sound like an arrogant know-it-all delivering a sermon to a bunch of ignorant schmucks.

Ask her what time it is.  "You want to know what time is it?  I will TELL you what time it is.  It's time you got your own damn watch and stop bothering people to ask them what time it is, that's what time it is! "

Ask her if it still raining outside:  "You want to talk about rain? I will tell you about rain. Rain is WET and when you get wet, you get cold.  So don't go blaming me if you go outside and get wet and get cold, because YES it IS still raining!"

These types of Whoopi parodies were a running joke with my daughter for a long time, until The Donald started making speeches and they were replaced with Trump-esque self-aggrandizing stream of consciousness rants.  Snark is just a way of life around here.

Agreed.  Even if some of the problems are because production put the wrong script into the monitor, or goofed on the timing, you would think she would be able to graciously go with the flow and recover seamlessly without the audience even noticing.  Didn't she host the Oscars (also live) a few times?  The way that she gets downright angry if she's told in her ear that it's time to go commercial is so bizarre to me.  It's like she gets personally offended that she has to cut her bloviating short mid-rant.  As a viewer, it's uncomfortable to listen to her chastise the disembodied voice in her ear on a daily basis.

And count me in as being sick of the "Welcome to The View, y'all" bellowing.

I'm going to need her to stop yelling at me every damn day if I'm going to continue to watch this garbage.  As it is, I spend as much time fast-forwarding as I do viewing the actual show.

Well at least the show supported the rape victim.  I really don't get the verdict, having sex with an unconscious person is pretty depraved.  It's like Bill Cosby, he is basically a necrophiliac.  I don't trust either in society at all.

What an odd ending today. They just sort of sat around saying, wow, nice show, happy for the woman who won the Home Depot prize.  So and so was a nice guest.  Like they had absolutely nothing to say but still had some time to kill so they filled three minutes with bland musings.

I usually don't make it all the way to the end of this show ... I almost always I drift back to the news or a cooking show.  But I saw the other day how they tried to end the show early and everyone was like, oh wait ... we still have some time.  Is this screwing up the timing of the end of the show becoming a regular occurrence?  It's very sloppy.  I don't blame the panel (or even Whoopi, whom I love to blame for everything).  This is on the producers and director or whoever is managing the show.  It's really unprofessional.

I mean, on the rare times I am actually willing to spend a whole hour of my life watching this show, the least they could do is make the show a whole hour long

Maybe they (the producers) are letting it --the View--die a natural death by not bothering to produce a quality show,  or caring abt details.  Maybe they let the interns gain experience by doing the "work".  Obviously, the hosts don't do any prep work except read their cards during commercials and when Whoops is ranting. Seriously,  the powers that be  have lost interest in helping to produce a worthy show a long time ago. ..when Whoops wore out her professionalism to bother making an effort.  Someone up there likes Whoops and that's where the $ are going.

I just watched After The View from today, and was shocked at how much more I liked Paula on it, rather than when she's on the show itself.

Maybe because no Trump talk, with her defending him, and no Whoopi trying to get her goat, which makes Paula even more strident.

I liked everyone else's views on the after show too. Joy is always delightful to me, Sara seems genuine, and even Raven didn't bug me.

I liked the discussion about fantasizing about getting a divorce. Maybe because I've done just that. I think a lot of women wonder "what if" even if they love their husbands.

I think the Aftershows I've seen are ALWAYS better than the show  It doesn't seem to matter what topic or who is there - they are all more relaxed.  And of course, Whoopi is halfway to wherever she goes.

As far as this live TV I don't think hosting the Oscars is a good comparison because I'm pretty sure the host rehearses and memorizes etc. etc. where clearly Whoopi just crawls out of bed and shows up minutes before airtime.  On the other hand, she did host the longest Oscar show in history - over four hours - so even then she couldn't think on her feet and pick up the pace.

Definitely a better show on After the View. No Whoopi and Joy moderating. Everyone is at ease and fun to listen to. Joy makes it fun. One day Raven was obnoxious but otherwise she is fine.

You cut down one weed and another one pops up in its place. The one day we get rid of Whoopi we get stuck with Jed. She’s such a transparent liar. “I’m not a Republican, but…” “I don’t support Trump, but…” If it quacks like a duck…. *insert her stupid hand gestures here* I won’t even pretend—if they make Jed full-time, I’m done with this show, Joy or no Joy. No way can I take her and Whoopi at the same time. The feral idiocy coming from the both of them couldn’t be balanced out even if there were three Joy’s.

Crystela is okay. She’s in the same line as Sara to me. Inoffensive, but not a draw either. At least they don’t have Stepford Mommy issues like Sunny.

Raven?  Who throws their kid in the water and hopes they survive?  You may want to report them to CPS.

I think she was trying to come up with the "sink or swim" analogy, but in her desperacy (TM Hasselblech), she blurted that out.  LOL.

Did Cristela get new teeth?

I thought at first Raven had a bruise next to her eye.  Then she turned her head, and I realized the other eye matched. It's not her worst look, but it looks terrible.

And Jedi -   a guy who is 24 or 25 might be just a couple years out of college, and living at home so that he can save to be financially stable.    While I agree about not dating a guy who lives with his parents and doesn't WORK -  OK, he might be a loser if he's just on Xbox all day.  But just living with parents doesn't equal good-for-nothing.  Both my sons lived with us a couple years after college - they started their careers,  helped out around the house, and made payments on student loans.  And moved out when they were ready.  I didn't do their laundry or make their beds, or clean up after them, so moving out was not such a big deal.

Lord give me strength. Raven and her constant references to hashtags  ... the importance of everything is measured in terms of hashtags.

Apparently bullying wasn't a big deal years ago, because they didn't even have a hashtag for it. They didn't have TWITTER either you #moron.

OJ is everywhere, hashtag OJ!  #double murderer whoo hoo!

I have a few hashtags for you, you birdbrain.  #Ravensucks ....  #can't wait for you to GO ... #fire her NOW

This panel makeup was a bust. We had two "full timers" and two fill-ins, (one of which hasn't been on the show in a year after her whole show cancellation fiasco) and they still can't even get Michelle on? She deserved better.

And yes, "Candace Cam" was odd. A way to remind viewers she's still around? To capitalize on the face that it just came out that "Fuller House" got huge ratings? To get rid of a segment she filmed a while ago?

When Cristella asked Raven how she's been and Raven laughed it off and rolled her eyes... could it be!?

I'm working on my laptop and listening to the show in the background and I notice Jedidiah (who names their daughter Jedidiah, which was the name King Solomon was given at birth?) has something about her speech that can't be understood unless you're looking at her. I don't know if she's speaking too fast or what, but it's aurally distracting.

Sadly I doubt we'll see very much of Michelle for the rest of the season. Airhead Sara Haines is replacing her next season, so why would Michelle even want to show up now?

They must be on the fence about Raven for next season or Sunny is busy, so she is there.

I agree, if Michelle has been "fired" why would she come back for even a nano second, she should be paid out and RUN!

I really don't see a dilemma about canning Raven!  She is too illiterate for us!!  #tweetthatyoumoron

No kidding.  While reading the cue card about the OJ special she fumbled with the word definitive and ended up calling it the definite story.

Raven does know about the whole OJ/murder thing, right?  Because she sounded strangely impressed with him.  And since the murders didn't happen last week and make it onto her facebook news feed or become a trending topic on twitter .... well.  It's possible our poor dimwitted little friend may not have heard.

Here Raven, I will put it in words you can understand .... #hegotawaywithmurder #thatsnotcool #donttalkabouthimlikehesawesome

Candace was definitely doing a commercial - the newest way for The View to make money without actually doing a cut-away commercial.

I do agree that had Meredith done the panel on her show earlier...it might have gotten better ratings.  It kind of reminded me of the early days of the view.

Sara is harmless, but I was kind of impressed during the Trump U talk that she had some common sense..and deflated the sails from Paula.  She's sweet..and the show needs a little sweetness.

I don't like Jedi, but I have to admit she had a view and isn't afraid to express it.  On a show called the View...we need that.  Unlike Bitsy, she at least seems like she can think for herself...and even said nice things about hilary and obama.

Yep, Jed is a fast talker but I think one has to be on this show if they want to finish a thought.    She also has some sort of accent I find unusual for a broadcaster.  But as  @JAYJAY1979 noted she thinks for herself (doesn't play the "team" game when talking politics) and I think she does a pretty good job of expressing her views without going all cray cray ala Bitsy.      She can tell a good story and seems okay with laughing at herself - something Paula used to be able to do.   I may not agree with her politics but I like her confidence.

On the shallow end, Joy looked great this week - easily the best hair/makeup/wardrobe at the table.  Cristalla's sweater looked like something my mother would wear at Christmas and I'm not sure  those frames she was wearing had glass in them, lol.    One of the days this week Paula was wearing gold metallic heels with a black cocktail dress on a morning talk show all of which was just odd.   I think Raven is usually stunning with perfect makeup but the red shadow, pale lips thing just didn't work.   And finally, it looked like Jed needs to upgrade her extensions.

Good Lord, this show is going to be a mess on Monday. First Christina Grimmie, now the nightclub shooting. Two tragedies after another. As one gay viewer, I hope to God there's only one of Candace, Paula, and the Jedi on the show tomorrow. It's already going to be awful with Raven being the "voice" of LGBT individuals on this show without having to watch those three struggle to pretend they give a shit that 50 LGBT people were murdered. Whoopi has my seal of approval to scream.

Of course, his idea of "toughness & vigilance" is using nuclear weapons against terrorists, and killing their wives and children. Exactly when did we go back to the Dark Ages?

Incidentally, the Orlando terrorist was born in New York City, just as Trump was (and I was). Who, exactly, do we bomb, Donald?

Can't we be sad for 24 hours before we all use the deaths of innocents as fodder for our political agendas? So sick, and so sad.
