I laughed at that segment. Joe must realize how rare it is for him to show up in the NYC studio since he signed the new contract. I hope that Jan realized how much of a sacrifice Joe made for her to fly to NYC to say goodbye to her.

Mika and Joe are in the studio with Barnicle, Jonathan Lemire, WaPo Eugene, and Al Sharpton.  The top story is Michael Bloomberg's apology for his controversial stop and frisk policy as mayor of NYC.  So now Joe and Mika are with Bloomberg? 

Next, the president went to Walter Reed this weekend.  Joe said Trump has little hands and little fingers.  

The incumbent Democrat won re-election in Louisiana.  Joe and Mika made fun of Trump because a Republican lost on the Gulf Coast.  Joe called it Lou-siana and riffed in a Southern accent. Joe sounds like a fucking idiot with this corn pone act.

Joe thinks Elizabeth Warren has hit a plateau because of health care. 

Mayor Pete is leading Iowa polls.  Joe wonders if Mayor Pete Buttigieg can connect with voters in the South.  Joe thinks Mayor Pete will have a problem.  It appears that Joe and Mika are not going to pivot to support Mayor Pete anytime soon.

I am amused that Joe did not bring up his strong support for "stop and frisk" when it was enacted by Bloomberg. He was on daily rants about how it was keeping crime down and making New York safe to visit.

Mika  did mention  Gov Bel Edwards new anti abortion bill.

Joe's favorite new expression is that Bloomberg is "data driven".

Didn't tune in until 8:00; really, the entire show boils down to either the 6:00 half hour or the 8:00 half hour.  I recently watched a semi-documentary about The Beach Boys; it delved a bit into the meaning of "God Only Knows" Just How Much I Love You.  And it somehow stuck with me.  Until today.  The show used the tag line from the song as background when they showed (during the break) Joe and Meeka in a car.  My heart hurts...and My Eyes!

I completely agree, I only bopped in a couple of times but each time Joe seemed slightly behind the curve today like the entire morning was a surprise to him.

Joe, Willie and Mike Barnicle are in the studio with Al Sharpton.  Mika is off.  The top story is polls.  An ABC poll shows that a lot of people think the president should be impeached.  A poll says 70 percent think it was wrong for Trump to ask for political dirt.  

Joe said it is frustrating that some people don't find the hearings compelling.  Joe talked about his dad's opinion of Richard Nixon.  His dad used to read the paper and knew Nixon was wrong!

Biden is leading in South Carolina with 33 percent.  Warren has 13 percent.  Joe is puzzled as to why Booker and Harris are not polling higher. 

Al said Black voters in SC care more about the authenticity of the candidates than race.  We need more Al and less Donnie for election analysis.

Ha!  I understand what Joe means, but it is hard to truly capture the attention of the country any more.  In addition to cable news, we have so many sources of analysis on Twitter.  The tweets of every highlight lessen the surprise factor that we used to have in the old days. People probably feel overwhelmed by all of the media sources and tune some things out.

The ratings for the first two sessions were great. 13/14 million on tv and many many millions more streaming or listening to them at work. JoeMika really could have been the most famous reporters in the world! We know that he had a source tell him to look into Ukraine well before the whistle blower came forward and now he reveals that he knew about Jeffery Epstein's influence with the rich and famous back in 2015. Before the Miami Herald published the expose.

But following up on that stuff would have meant having to work more than 2 1/2 hours a day.

Speaking of Epstein, the panel didn't say it's a conspiracy but. . . 

The group that edits the clips and montages that show administration officials in an unflattering light is really good.

I'm not expecting a 3 foot tall trophy, but surely an enterprise as distinguished as KYV could afford a picture frame.
