I was wrong, I think she nails Mika's on screen nature very well.  I watched more of it and the only thing that didn't ring true was their open flirtations.  That doesn't happen, or, I've never seen it.

I can't imagine what people at 30 Rock think of JoMika.  Joe interrupting Eddie Glaude in the skit, and then I turn it on this morning, John Meacham is talking about Lyndon Johnson & Andrew Johnson and of course what does Joe do?  Interrupt because God forbid he let Meacham make his point without trying to horn in on it. 

What's Mika's problem today?  Does she still have the flu? And by flu I mean she's a) pissed at Joe; b) embarrassed by the SNL skit; c) who cares?  Maybe we can get Joe to join her.

Joe was definitely not in the Connecticut bunker today.  I think if they were in DC, then Joe and/or Mika would have been in a normal studio, but who knows. 

This whole bunker thing is weird. Why will they never say where the bunker is? Why won’t Joe and Mika make joint bunker appearances, now that they are no longer hiding their relationship? And why dies Mika never make solo bunker appearances?

I was thinking the same thing. The way the corners of her eyes were lifted a couple weeks ago, she looks normal now.  I didn't think Botox wore off in 2 weeks, but maybe it settles down and the results aren't so pronounced.

I thought it might be the Nantucket bunker for a bit but then Mika posted the social media pic with her mom... I can’t imagine Joe would go to Nantucket by himself.   The only Mika bunker appearance I recall was when they were in London.  I agree it is time for joint bunker appearances, but I suspect the CT bunker was only built for one.  Maybe the new house will have a bunker for two!

100 times this.  I was condescending to folks who were considering voting a reality teevee star into the oval office.  A horrible businessman, who lost money on a CASINO.  The only people who lose money on a casino are either woefully incompetent, or are laundering money (or in this case, likely both), history of bankruptcies, lawsuits, a path of destruction following him his entire life, professionally and personally.  Condescending was my least offensive way to treat these people.

Whoever upthread talked about the D-List voters.  Yes!  I live in a  southern red state and there is currently a plan to overturn the horrible gerrymandering of  about 8-10 years ago.  There is excitement from the Dems about the state going back to being Blue.  Hope I'm wrong, but it is not gonna happen.  Racisim is ingrained in large pockets of my state and the Tea Party, Fox News and such have emboldened these people.  They will never change.  I do admire Joe for his new-found independence in calling some of these cowardly pols out for what they are.   Barnicle and others are right about resentment towards elites and celebrities. But it can't touch the prejudices against minorities.

I have put MJ on my must-see list; it motivates me to get up on a cold, dark winter morning.  Joe, when he wants to, can be a powerful voice.  Meek-a....not so much.  I heard You're So Vain on the radio the other day and thought about JoeMika.   For the love of God, if  Mika  doesn't want to do the show, then don't do it!  I think she must realize that without this show, she would be rudderless.  She would "have no voice" in political circles.  That translates into low book sales and conferences.  Who is going to pay money for anything she is pushing if she doesn't have a daily platform?  I just wish she and Joe were actually present for their own show.

I hope I didn't get too "political" with comments on living in a Red State.  It is just that it touches on what Barnicle and others were talking about with the resentment toward supposed wealthy, celebrity loving rich people.  I am really tired of the panel and networks in general trying to give so much credit to these voters.

Tuesday Recap with malfunctioning tv.  I started watching at 630 am. Mika is wearing the dark blue v neck top. She is in the studio with Joe , Barnicle.

mika was upset that a 40 year old man with no record was deported.

heilemann said the GOP is doomed if they don’t reach out to minorities. They won a narrow electoral college victory but lost the popular vote. It was a fluke.

Joe started bellowing about shutting down the government until a DACA deal is reached. Joe was chanting slogans. No DaCa no deal,

joe said the cable tv shows would cover a shutdown 24 hours a day and blame the GOP.

the shit hole comments continue to dominate the show. It’s an easy issue to cover.

The show today is pretty good.  They did a good job of clearly laying out the timeline (with the help of the new WP article) that the DACA deal got blown up.  Shame on John Kelly for calling those other senators over to talk Trump out of it.  I read a great article about how he is not DC savvy enough to adequately guide a piece of legislation successfully through the process.  I didn't think it would take less than a week to prove the article out.

I missed a lot of the segment regarding the award Mika will be receiving as she kept talking and giggling over what Joe was saying.  I hope that is part of the last hour replay.

I am SO glad that have David Cay Johnston on, I didn't realize he had a new book out which I just purchased.  I am also glad they spoke to the proposed build up of smaller nuclear weapons as that has been severely under-reported and absolutely terrifying.  Great segment!

I really enjoyed the last segment they did today about the Aziz Ansari incident in particular and the MeToo movement and sexual harassment in general. Three intelligent women with their own views and experiences all talking to each other in a respectful manner.  Of course Joe had to give his two cents at the end but overall it was a good discussion that pointed out all the grey areas in this topic.

Mika's comments were sooo tedious and facile.  I was listening in the gym, and she was mourning for the lost days of courtship.  She was trying to put words into the mouth of the dummy who went to Aziz Ansari's apartment, as if that event was the ideal microcosm of "what's wrong with kids these days."  Because I was listening, and what was being said registered to me as being bonkers, I whipped my head around to see which of the guests was saying it, and yep, it's Old Fashioned Mika.

I have been to this award luncheon in the past. It's an opportunity for all the NYC companies'  (esp. fin services and ad agencies) media buyers to get together and congratulate themselves for being women. It's silly and self aggrandizing. GREAT gift bags for attendees tho!

I awoke this morning to them showing the footage of the man in Detroit being deported and Joe saying "if the Dems don't use this to push back on Trump's policies they're idiots" (paraphrasing). And i agree 100%. 

If Lindsey Graham is telling Trump to get the DACA deal done so they can get the gov't funded, I'd say Trump should listen. 

Or, Congress could do themselves a favor and remember they can override any bill he vetoes.

To be fair to Mika on this, the website that published the original article about Aziz Ansari was called "Babe", so I think that's what Mika was referring to.

However, here is my requisite Mika bashing: I was listening to the Katy Couric podcast over the weekend, and at one point, while talking about her and Joe, Mika said "There were so many things constraining us in the past". I laughed and thought to myself, "Yes Mika, there were things constraining you - such as your marriages".
