 Yes, I am fed up with Show; I did not watch this morning.  But.  Oakville....remember a month or so where you were posting the ratings?  I just saw on Mediaite where CNN's This Morning (is that what their 6-9 show is called?) beat MJ in key demo - or some kind of demo - on Tuesday.

Showbuzz Daily is no longer providing daily ratings for Morning Joe & its competitors.

However, Morning Joe's total viewers of 854K is still below May's ratings of 988K.

Fox & CNN morning shows have also lost viewers since May.

CNN beating Morning Joe in the key demographic is bad news for the show, since advertisers pay more for ratings in the key demographic.

It will be interesting to see if Mika & Joe are able to keep their $15 million combined salaries when they try to renew their contracts.

MSNBC let Kasie Hunt go to CNN for $1-1.5M. She was working all day between her early show, being on Capitol Hill & filling in for Chuck Todd.

The ads for morning Joe on the network show Mika & Joe engaging with guests at a table.

They did this briefly earlier this summer but have reverted to the Brady Bunch Box format which is hard to watch.

I saw that, too, and thought how can that possibly be news?! MJ is unwatchable...and, like you, I didn't even bother to check in on it yesterday. Glad the ratings are reflecting how we all feel. I won't be watching today but I imagine Mika will be insufferable since I saw her brother is in line for the Polish ambassador gig...the same one who was the Swedish ambassador under Obama. Joe acknowledged, on air, this morning, that he lives in Florida.  His kids go to school there.  Can't these two prima donnas get thee to a studio there, and invite guests who may be visiting the Sunshine State?  The remote feel of this show is so 2020.

I did drop in around 8:05...the rerun half-hour.  Joe was showing a picture of Meeka as a child/teen meeting the Pope.  He went on to laud the Brzenski family, the mother (who was shown with the Pope; and lecturing him according to Joe); at first I thought someone in the family had died.  But thanks to plumbago b above, it must have been about Meeka's brother.  I switched to ESPN.

Most interestingly, Joe "joked" something about the Pope telling Meeka to be nice to her second husband.  Wow.  "Second Husband" ... did he really have to say that? Of course Joe then had to talk about his contrasting upbringing in whatever state he was raised in; apparently there were several.

The morning her brother gets the nod from Biden to be an ambassador, our queen is too busy to show up to discuss?
Of course she's too busy.  She's an incredibly important mover and shaker and thought leader - for instance, how would successful corporate women know to amplify their successes if not for our queen?  She has all the irons in the fire and this morning job she has is trivial in comparison.

Meeka is the network's version of Meghan McCain. Born on third base, entitled, angry.  Just older.  Meow.  I am not surprised she is off today;  she "carried" the show those weeks that Joe was off.  They must have the best agents around.

My time at ESPN was not wasted.  I got to see Aaron Rodgers (geez, he is gorgeous); and Mike Greenberg (I think he is sexy).  I have cookie sheets older than both of them.  (Special thanks to the late Erma Bombeck for that line)

Recap of yesterday' show beginning at 7 am.

Mika interviewed Shontel Brown who won the Democratic Primary in the Ohio 11th district.

She thanked Joe for his advice to knock on doors & hold town halls. Joe said it was a vicctory for moderate democrats & is a blow to the defund the police movement led by Nina Turner.

Shontel supports God & is a child of faith.

Joe recommended a few bible verses for her & she was happy.

Joe is happy that Rev Al Sharpton criticized latte liberals.

Clyburn was smart to endorse Biden. Clyburn is opposed to defunding the police.

 

Heilemann said that the far left Democrats like AOC are camera friendly but moderate democrats are more numerous.

Mika read the report from NY AG about Gov Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women. Joe showed no emotion at Mika reading the statement.

Mika was puzzled at Cuomo's photos of him kissing other politicians. He kissed Rev Al Sharpton.

Heilman said the photos showed he had consent but they were cringe inducing. He didn't have consent from the women he sexually harassed.

Mika said it was invalidating & he should apologize to women.

Adrienne said the photos were bad for Cuomo. Other Governors want him to resign.

Willie said 15,000 people died in nursing homes in NY, but he has survived that scandal.

Kriten said Cuomo should not have touched women's intimate parts. He could be impeached.

Joe said Biden wasn't comfortable calling Cuomo to resign. Biden is friends with Cuomo.

 

 

 

Lemire said that "The walls are closing in on Cuomo". This was a popular expression about Trump during his entire Presidency.

Joe was upset that DeBlasio won't force teachers to be vaccinated in NYC.

Restaurant will allow kids under 12 without vaccinations into restaurants. He compared the vaccination policy to the smoking ban in NYC restaurants.

Mika started cry reading about low vaccinations in Arkansas & crowded hospitals.

Mika showed a picture of her on a mountain with Adriene Elrod & another lady.

Mika's had lines under her right eye. She should have the make up artist fix it.

She supported Bernie Sanders & likes to flip tables rather than be bi partisan.

Jeff Greenfield appeared. I enjoy reading his books. He said the party in power did pick up seats in 1934 & 1998.

Biden should campaign on getting things done & be a uniter. Progressives should not sabotage the infrastructure bill.

I turned it on this morning and it was just a big headshot of Joe hammering the camera.  For quite a long time.

It felt great to cut him off.

My cat woke me up around 5 - was wide awake after that. Finally turned on MJ and did not hate it. Granted I didn’t have it on constantly but what I saw was Joe not bring terrible. Donny D did not bring the gag reflex. Joe let other people talk - Doris K Goodwin, Heilemann. Maybe I am petty because there was no Meeka.

At the start of show I heard Joe promise some Olympics talk; but all I saw in my in and out was Red Sox.  Maybe I missed it. Larry Hogan is likable, has been a popular governor; but his “both-sides” being culpable re Congress was a turn-off. Of course Joe loved it. Show was still better than usual.

They've been in Florida for over a year. They broadcast from some room in their house there. the only time Joe leaves Florida is to go to a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway.

Remember when Joe was screaming about getting rid of masks back in April because he went to Boston on Good Friday to see a Red Sox game and the city was empty and the ballpark had limited attendance. You must have missed Jonathan Lemire being a whiny little bitch about the Yankees getting Joey Gallo and Mike Rizzo because they have such a large amount of money to "buy" a pennant...he's pissed because the Yankees are catching up to the Red Sox...so much whining and complaining because the Yankees spend money. Whenever the Red Sox start sucking, their fans, like little bitch Lemire, complain about the Yankees payroll. It was pathetic...why not be mad at your team for not picking up a couple of good players during the recent trades? Even better...why not stop talking about baseball/Red Sox for the rest of the summer?

Ugh..as for Hogan...he was more popular earlier in his first term. He's made some moves this past year that were not popular like not expanding unemployment benefits earlier this year and saying that he wrote in a vote for Ronald Reagan in the Presidential election. He still has a high approval rating mostly for his response to COVID but not quite as high as a couple years ago.

I do remember that ! Joe often  changes his positions on issues & refuses to acknowledge that he may have been wrong. Joe has complained about websites like Google, Mediaite & Newsbusters that keep track of what he said about issues & point out his contradictions.

I am always amused when he changes his positions & pretends that he never said anything that contradicts his prior thoughts.

Joe believes he is always right about every issue & sometimes he takes multiple positions on one issue so he can brag later that he was never wrong. 

Joe is a hero for many aspiring pundits because he ensures that the show never allows a guest to challenge him on his opinions.

The new Brady Bunch box format allows Joe to yell or talk over at any guest that contradicts him. It would be harder to do if the guests were in the studio sitting next to him

Joe has instructed the producers in the studio to cut off or mute anyone that argues with him.

In the event that a guest does disagree with him, the show has pre taped several segments of Jonathan Lemire & Elise Jordan saying "You are so right Joe" which can be added to any show.

There was a good discussion today, in the studio, with Willie moderating.  Four people were sitting around a table; they were giving the history of President Johnson and The Voting Rights Act.  How Johnson accomplished it, the importance, etc.  No Joe to interrupt. 

What a difference when you have the guests sitting together around a table with the same backdrop. A man was talking (I think he had something to do with the LBJ Library); the lone female guest was on camera during this; it showed her looking at him and nodding her head.  When it was her turn to speak she was in a box alone with what appeared to be a red dotted background.  The guy next to her was not in the picture.  

Someone mentioned Joe's copying Michael Schmidt's jacket/hoodie.  Joe has to have an emblem on his with the MJ insignia.  Yes, Brown Bear...he is a putz.

Yeah...also remember when he and Barnicle were photographed on a city bench, in Hyannis or Martha's Vineyard or wherever the elitists cluster, without masks, which were mandated at the time? He and Mika are so oblivious to how their behavior is viewed (and remembered) by others. So self centered. Like Mika trying to champion strong independent women after posing in that somewhat compromising positon on the table with her legs in the air...they are so phony.

She really lowered the bar this morning on how to cry-read.  I think she was actually trying to make herself cry.  Such pearl-clutching high dudgeon.
Then the doctor comes on and spins an entirely different narrative - entirely in opposition to her soliloquy.  Frankly, I agree with her.  The guy came across as a fucking moron.  He respects people's decisions to not get the vaccine and it's no one's place besides one's own family or personal physician to opine on vaccinations.  Hurr durr.  He said people are just too gosh darn busy there in Armpit, Arkansas to find the gosh darn time to get a vaccine.

Tuned in at 8:00…yowza!  Meeka went on an interminable soliloquy with the fake harsh/cry voice. Mentioned “death cult” and appeared to be near tears. It was terrible, not to mention unprofessional.  

Joe is off - which has me thinking. Have the two of them had a vacation together this summer? I mean a vacation where they take off together without still managing to do the show? Individually or as The Twins?  Just enjoy sleeping in, eating out, sunning, swimming, reading.

Omg. I put this mess on at 8 o’clock. The depression and hysteria are beyond belief. We get it Mika. The vaccine is important. Who are you talking to?  Who do you think you will convince?  Then we go to Afghanistan. Then back to schools then vaccines in sports. I guess it’s ok for her highness to speak about sports in regards to COVID. They are beating a dead horse. Is there anything else going on in the world. Freakin Mika was on the verge of tears. Red Sox ownership is probably too busy spending money on Liverpool football to get Joe a Premier League Championship. Maybe he’s over there getting the team ready for the upcoming season.

She has proved her irrelevance over and over and working up a lather over this just makes her look desperate and foolish. Was Joe on at all? Is all this DeSantis hate aimed at Joe for making her move to FL with him? That she is scared and mad to live there? Is that why there's been a bit of a chill between them lately, when they do actually appear together? His marriage count was mentioned above...I wouldn't be surprised if he actually is ready to move on to #4. He married a nutcase. All of her histrionics sure belie the new glam shots of them...so very sophisticated and debonair. What a joke.

I tuned in at 6! this morning; mainly to see if Joe would be there (was looking forward to him responding to the "Meeka is dumb" or some such article).  No Joe again but Meeka assured everyone he will be back tomorrow.  What is going on?  Is he ill, writing his book, spatting with Her Nibs, taking a vacation.. and so on.  I stayed for about five minutes but Meeka's voice is Nails on a Chalkboard at this point.  Was her voice always this way?  I can't remember it being so but then again...with day after day of terrible news maybe it has taken its toll.   In all fairness to her - she needs a break.

Mika's tone changed today.  She wasn't faux hysterical or dramatically rehearsed in her bafflement regarding people filling hospitals or passing laws that will fill hospitals.  She seemed honest and not acting.  And to her credit, the MD from Arkansas and the Dr school superintendent from FL were very sobering.  I thought Willie was going to flip his desk over in frustration.

Also, Mika, you live in Florida.  You don't "spend some time there."  JFC

Mika, use Facebook.  Become an expert on it.  Understand what it is.  You seem like a 3rd party far removed from the platform's flaws, because you're a 3rd party far removed.  Educate yourself and make this your cause.  I dunno, don't just act like a journalist, be one.  It's your job, yeah?

Yeah, but in her mind she is still the flirty vamp in NYC and DC wining and dining with all the pols and wannabe's impressed by her father's name...not the frumpy hausfrau in front of a ring light and tripod in her kitchen trying to pronounce simple words in between bike rides with her mom. Plus, she just spent the summer in Maine so facing the heat, humidty and Covid in FL, apparently without Joe's constant support, pisses her off and she resents it.

YES! I said that to my family the other day...Willie is a far better host than Joe. He's witty when he needs to be, he doesn't grandstand or get on soapbox and lecture the audience and he doesn't go off on a baseball rant or "guy" talk...when Joe and Jonathan Lemire hijack the show with their fanboy convos on the Red Sox Willie will step in make one or two comments and then move it along to a news item. It's apparent that Joe has lost interest in doing this show. He should retire and let Willie have the lead... and when Mika leaves, he can have a new cohost. This show is old and needs a big overhaul...enough of the same "contributors" day in and day out...Mike Barnicle? Gone. Ed Luce? Gone. Eugene Robinson? Gone. Rev. Al? Gone. David Ignatius? Gone. Move in some younger talent with a new look and new viewpoints. Oh...and Jonathan Lemire? GONE! Too bad they lost Kasie Hunt because she would have been a great co host of a new look Morning Joe.
