NBC news did not show the Chuck Todd Sleepy eye tweet. Is it because they didn;t want to embarrass Chuck or was it because the tweet wanted NBC to ask about the "unmasking" surveillance tweet?

If I was Chuck, I wouldn't want to be referred to as "Sleepy Eyes"

I don't know if NBC news showed the tweet or not, but if they didn't it was because it didn't warrant showing.  Trump has said much worse things about people.  Honestly, I don't think it's that big of a deal (and I don't think Chuck Todd thinks it is either) considering the more important things we have to worry about in this country.  Some of his friends are probably calling him sleepy eyes.

I find these political ads very bizarre, period. They ran them for the health care bill too. Who are they geared toward? Most of those people are watching Fox and Friends. Next time I need to pay attention to who is paying for the ad. I'm assuming something affiliated with the Koch's or the Mercer's.

I thank goodness that Joe was not wooed to CBS News. I love the first hour of that show, and the three hosts compliment each other so well.

Mika & Joe tried to get Meet The Press, CBS News & Sunday Today. Meet the Press went to Chuck Todd. Charlie Rose & former Morning Joe guest panelist, Norah O Donnell got CBS News. Willie got Sunday Today.

I vaguely recall that Mika scored very poorly on Q ratings when they put her on the Today Show. She does not do well with female viewers.

However, Mika is always a favourite to be the next female Bond Villainess!

Damn it. Watched clips to find Robert Costa (listed as a guest on Twitter) and he was allowed about ten words. Grrrrrrrrrr. Lies and betrayal to start my morning along with really depressing segment on the collapse of Europe and the coming Dark Age. Would like to crawl back in bed now, thanks.

I spy, with my little eye....Jamba Juice smoothies on the set! For the guests! Good to see them taken care of instead of sipping from MJ cups that I can only hope are full of vodka.

Boy, Joe sure has convenient friends. "See, I have friends in North England who hated Thatcher...blah blah blah..." Yes, Joe, you're such a connected, "in the know" wunderkind.

Nick Confessore is a good model for conservative journalists who need to learn how to interview a Democrat without being a smug, condescending pill. I have no idea what Confessore's leanings are, and that's a good thing. He had fair questions and a neutral, approachable tone. I liked him. So, like Costa, and because MJ likes to forget about poor little liberal elite viewers like me, he'll be relegated to five word blips on a panel of ten zillion.

Dear Joe and Mika - do you giggle and make jokes about nuclear war with N. Korea because you truly don't know how else to report the harrowing situation of an administration that seems itching to start pushing buttons and play war in order to prove organ size? "We don't want to have Seattle blown up with a warhead...dangerous situation....go Sonics!* Ha ha ha ha!" WTH???

Might be time for Joe to get some convenient friends from North Korea who can tell him that playing "mine is bigger" between two manbabies isn't going to end well for anyone.

I mean, maybe it's Joe and Mika's dream to die in a nuclear cloud while wearing PJs on the set as a final glam shot, but the rest of us peons also have dreams of surviving.

*Or whatever team he mentioned...I was too horrified to pay attention.

Costa is one of my favourite guests on the show. he is very reasonable & doesn't freak out over Trump. He had to calm down Joe who was hyping that the National Enquirerwas sending messages to Trump about Flynn being a Russian spy.

Costa has good relations with Trump but he wasn't a sycophant like Mika & Joe wre last winter.

The issue is that NBC likes to think that they have a credible news division. Chuck Todd believes that he is a credible journalist yet refused to admit that his wife's company was helping Jim Webb & Bernie Sanders during the last campaign. He also complained when wiki leaks revealed that he & his wife hosted a party at their home for Jennifer Palmieri ( Clinton Communications Director) in 2015. Chuck should disclose his wife's political interests before each show. It's the same issue with Chris Matthews. He turned on Hillary Clinton after she refused to endorse his wife for the Congressional primary last year.

Chuck Todd wrote a nasty book about Obama in 2012 calling him an alien or stranger. He completely blew the 2016 election with his Hillary can't lose theme.

He had to admit after  election night that he had no clue that that Trump could win states in the midwest. That's his job.

He finally realized what a condesding elitist he was after the election when he admitted that he never graduated from college although he pretends he did. He said his father would be ashamed of him for his attacks on non college educated white voters. he was one of them, but pretended that he was part of the elite.

He's lucky that Tim Russert gave him a chance in 2008 to do political analysis. He was good back then. He stuck to the facts.

I bought his first book on "How Obama won in 2008". Very informative.

Now, Todd is basically a partisan hack who keeps giving viewers the wrong analysis. He completely blew the 2014 election night coverage as well. He said the Democrats would keep the Senate & they ended up with 45 seats.

He can't get it right on horse race coverage.

He should go back to covering sports & shave his goatee.

NBC doesn't like having its employees being mocked by the President of the USA. I watch NBC & MSNBC regularly. They want viewers to take Chuck seriously in their promos. They did not show the Sleepy eyed tweet. Only Mika & Joe got away with it.

MSNBC did promos after the election about "Morning Joe" being the place to go for scoops. Joe was the first to report about the cabinet picks etc. Now they have to scrap that since Trump won't give them an interview.

MSNBC is now trying to do promos about Rachel Maddow & Andrea Mitchell who are tough on Trump.

Mika & Joe are no longer insiders into Trump's world

The point I was trying to make (apparently, unsuccessfully) is that nobody in this country gives a shit about whether or not NBC or MSNBC had problems with the tweet about Chuck Todd.  We don't care.  We really don't care if Chuck Todd has sleepy eyes or not.  We don't care about Chuck Todd.  We got enough problems right now.

NBC wants viewers to take Chuck Todd seriously. NBC news does not report that the Commander in Chief is insulting their highly respected political analyst whereas his "colleagues" i.e. Mika & Jjoe try and find different insults that are more appropriate for him such as his baldness & silly goatee. The network runs ads of him being a basketball referee for politicians. He should acknowledge that his wife is a political consultant & that he will allow her clients ( Sanders,Clinton, & Webb) to be interviewed on his show without him having to disclose any financial benefit his family. That is completely unethical.

Tuesday Recap. Joe is wearing a shirt with a TV test pattern that  is affecting my TV. Mika is wearing a Burgundy Star Trek Uniform.

Joe is mad at Susan Rice for being involved in unmaking names . It's not OK for political reasons. Halperin said Obama admin was freaked out about about Trump winning. They realized they made a mistake about not discussing Russia being involved in the election until after Trump won.

They were upset that Trump won so they got emotional .

Joe trashed the Hallejuah caucus saying it was OK for Rice to unmask the names and spread the information throughout the got.

Joe said if Cheney did this, people would freak out.

Richard Haas said this is not normal for the NSC.

Joe said that Erik Prince is Betsy Devos's brother so he knows what is happening with the Trump transition.

Joe couldn't stop laughing at Erik prince's lies.

Joe was at the NY Times for making the Susan Rice scandal Page 16. It should be Page 1. Halperin said it was lucky that it was even reported & that page 16 is still important.

Joe was mad at the NY Times for covering OReilly sex scandal on Page 1. Mika said it was important story . Joe didn't want to discuss it.

Joe bragged that he went to the Red Sox games with his kids.

Moyahadin howed up to discuss Egypt. Joe said that Trump get along well with Sisi. Joe said that Obama kept chanting Mubarak must go & was supportive of the elected Islasmic government.

Joe was happy that Sisi shook Trump's hand energetically. Mika was sad that Merkel did not get a handshake.

Moyahadin was upset that Sisi is treated well by Trump. He is not respecting human rights & isn't promoting democracy. It was a military coup.

Haas said the Egyptians are very happy to have good relations with the USA. They can be helpful against terrorism & can help with Syria.

ignatius said Trump wants to put wins on the board

Willie is upset that Rice was using the unmasked information for political purposes.

Joe had trouble buttoning his blazer. Joe kept taking his glasses off during the show.

Joe's voice was driving me nuts this morning.  He was in uber-repetitive mode about the Susan Rice story and how the story would be covered if it were Cheney doing what Rice allegedly did and requesting the unmaskings.  It's a real story, finally somebody other than another Twitler associate meeting with another Russian, yadda, yadda, yadda.  He got particularly irritated when people around the table dared to disagree with him.

Yet again, and this time it was their histrionics following the Rand Paul interview, they bring to mind the court order wherein Judge Stan Strickland recused himself from the Casey Anthony trial:

“At its core, defense counsel’s motion accuses the undersigned of being a ‘self-aggrandizing media hound.’ Indeed. The irony is rich.”

Questions for Joe:

DID she unmask the names, or did she just request them?

DID she "spread them throughout the government"?

WAS it for political purposes? Or was she just maybe, I dunno, doing her job as National Security Advisor trying to figure out WTF was going on with this transition team that was apparently already on the FBI's radar?

Questions, I have so many questions.

When Joe attempted the false equivalency B.S. by bringing up the, "What if Dick Cheney had done this," question, I was ready to throw my flatiron at the TV.  But, how do I explain that to my husband, who can't understand why I would risk my blood pressure spiking by watching someone so loathsome.  But, that's a debate for another day.

I had to leave, but did anyone remind this bloviating nimrod that Dick Cheney, through Skooter Libby, in fact outed Valerie Plame as an undercover CIA operative?  And, did anyone follow up with that question by asking if that wasn't done for purely political reasons because her husband, Ambassador Joe Wilson, dared to refute the lie that Iraq was attempting to purchase yellowcake from Niger?  I can't believe Joe went there.  Wait...yes, I can.

But, yes, let's throw shade and mud at someone for maybe doing her job as National Security Adviser.  Nice attempt to change the narrative, Joe.  Although not on Nunes' level of bumbling idiocy, you could at least try to be more subtle about it.  And, it still doesn't change the fact that a sitting "president" accused a former president of having him personally wiretapped at his residence.  As someone pointed out, Drumpf is a master at deflecting attention toward the shiny object by shouting, "Look over there!"

At least he did call out the Erik Prince foolery.  It's just one more drip...drip...drip...in a building dam of lies, obfuscations and shadowy links to a known threat against this country.

Thankfully, I had to rush off to work and was able to turn off the TV when I saw Rand Paul with his permed rug and pasty, sweaty looking skin.  Boy, bye!

Wednesday Recap. Joe is in the Bunker with his red italian tablecloth shirt & blue blazer. Mika is wearing a sleevess navy blue dress with a sweater. Mika has her "serious" news anchor voice. She read out crisies in North Korea, & Syria. Mika was giddy when she found polls showing Trump at 34-39%. It's hilarious that the Gallup poll showed him at 39% which is higher than last week at 34%. They should keep ussing 1 poll for comparison purposes rather than find a poll with a number that they like.

All the poll numbers are down , even Nancy Pelosi.

Trump can't do anything because of bad polls. No one likes Trump.

Would Joe like to volunteer his two sons to serve in Syria or Korea?

Ugh. These people and their obsession with national polls. It doesn't matter if Ryan has a 37% nationwide approval rating, so long as his district approves of him (and thanks to the gerrymandering the Kochs sponsored the last two decades, it does.) Same goes with the approval ratings for the political parties. A reasonable person can approve of their own rep/senator and loathe the party. Yet these hacks eat this stuff up.

Joe said that Trump can't go to Obama for help or advice because of all his bashing. I think if Trump ever realized he needs help (not likely) that Obama and Clinton would help him out. The problem is he won't listen or would throw them under the bus. No winning with this guy.

You're thinking of two different words, meshugana (bonkers, nuts) and mishegas (foolishness).

Both  terms could apply to Mika & Joe !

I am not a Jew but I have a workable knowledge of Yiddish from  1) years of working in the NYC garment district and 2) extensive viewing of Judge  Judy. I meant mishegas--FOOLISHNESS.  Peformed by a meshugana.

Well Mika spends her time now 100%   Trump bashing.  Joe does also, but he feels he also need to add tiny conciliatory comments about how George Bush and especially Obama did something about 10% comparably bad. TRUST ME--I am all up for Trump bashing--but at this point, why keep hammering it in?  He's not going to quit, impeachment is always unlikely (unless Russia ties prove to be something, but in that case it would be his people who did it, not him.)  So at this juncture--stop bull baiting him with a stick!!!  We all know he's basically worthless but he's what we have for the next 3 years, 10 months.  Lord!

Somebody should point out to Joe  that the reason we didn't go into Syria was because President Obama told Congress, you get pissy with me when I do something on my own, so vote on it.  And they refused."

Speaking of shade throwing, was it my imagination, or was Joe using the Andy Card and Chris Whipple segment to throw yet more shade at President Obama?  It's becoming downright infuriating.  The segment starts off with the clip of Gayle and the Czarina Ivanka discussing telling daddy hard truths, with Ivanka giving a nonsensical answer.  From there, Mika got to the crux of the matter--who tells Drumpf's hard truths and does he listen?  Card went on to discuss how a White House Chief of Staff is supposed to set the tone and how a presidency's success hinges upon that.  He was quite generous in his praise of Preibus, but Whipple gave him a much-needed reality check about what a disaster it has been.  Whipple mentioned the disastrous executive orders, some of which should have never seen the light of day without being properly vetted by Preibus first.

When they tried to discuss who in the alt-White House has the bullocks to speak truth to power, as well as the president's willingness to take counsel.  Of course, this applies to other presidents also especially when take in a historical context.  Somehow or another, Joe tried to bring this back to Obama, indicating that things went from bad (under Obama) to worse (currently under Drumpf).  This, only for Whipple to straighten him out about how this goes all the way back to Nixon and his chief of staff.  Undeterred and unable to read the room, Joe tried to bring the discussion around to Obama's "red line" in Syria and not following through.  Teddysmom, I'm glad you mentioned that the reason Obama didn't intervene militarily in Syria is because when he went to Congress (after they talked all kinds of shit) to seek their approval to do so, they chose to do nothing.  Missing in this discussion also is the fact that at the time, a war-weary American public opposed intervening in a Syrian civil war, particularly because they didn't believe it was in our interests to do so.  Even when Obama and Secretary Kerry put forth the case to do so, there were grave concerns that even minimal intervention could lead to an endless quagmire (i.e., see Iraq and Afghanistan) and Americans overall didn't have an appetite for that.  Their proposed bill never even reached the floor to be voted on.  Rachel Maddow covered this at length last night in her opening segment.

Joe, Joe, Joe--you throw so much shade at Obama (I guess you can't help it) that I'm surprised you don't have an elm tree growing in that studio or in your bunker.  Again, he's not even subtle about it even when he's trying to be.  At least Mika asked the right follow-up questions and kept the conversation on the subject at hand.

I think Joe or one of his minions reads this forum. Last week, every day started with the Gallup daily poll which showed Trump as low as 35%. This was the theme of the first segment. Lowest numbers ever!

then the Gallup poll showed Trump up to 40. No mention by the glam team of Mika  & Joe of poll results. Yesterday it Quinnepac @34 but Joe did not mention Gallup.

today it's 3 polls.

Joe should no better. The day after the election he said that the polls were wrong and even the 5 pm exit polls were wrong. This is a waste of time.

Joe uses the polls as a crutch to justify his Trump bashing. Why doesn't Joe show what the polls say about trust in the media? It's even lower than Trump.

joe completely forgot about USA involvement in Libya. Gaddafi got killed but the place is a mess. Syria is even more dangerous.

I stopped watching this morning right when Card and the other guy came on.  But before that, Joe did tie Obama to every bad thing that Trump has done, "Sure Trump did this, but Obama..."
Joe can mock Obama all he wants.  It achieves nothing.  The fact of the matter is the "red line" comment wasn't prudent, but w/out Congress' help, he brokered an agreement where Syria stopped using chemical weapons.   Now, though, the Russians, Iranians, and Assad know that Trump is a coward, and stupid, and can be easily manipulated.  Joe mocks Obama for "leading from behind," now Trump is both following from behind and taking it in the behind.
Syria is three dimensional chess and there is no easy path to anything resembling a resolution.

Love how the hosts and panel laugh openly at the Secretary of State and that fucking idiot Nikki Haley.

In addition to the gross glamour shots, I saw a quick commercial with Joe playing a blues lick on his guitar and comparing Congress to a band that is fighting but needs to make it to Tuscon for their gig.  The douche chills were very strong on that.

I do want to thank Senator Johnson for explaining to me at the end of the show that our economic troubles are rooted in "regulatory uncertainty" of the Obama administration and now with Trump getting rid of regulations, everything will be coming up roses. But this doesn't top Sheldon Whitehouse saying yesterday on the show  that (fake news alert) Wall Street funded Bernie Sanders' campaign against Hillary. Please. Hillary was to Wall Street what Monica Lewinsky was to her husband.

There are two versions of that commercial. One where he just makes the comparison and ends with the riff. And there is a slightly longer version where Mika shows up at the end and says, "That sounds like the blues."

Gag me. Joe, you are NOT some rebel musician. You have a passable talent and a friend who owns a bar who tolerates you and your dumb band because it draws tourists. Get over yourself already.
