Apprently, it's everyone elses fault but not EB. Wow! I always knew he was playing himself but to actually get it confirmed from EB himself is hysterical. The cast must just roll their eyes with him. I remember a few years ago MTS had said they after working with him 25 plus years that she didn't know him that well. I think she should consider herself lucky.

Here's the podcast with Michael Muhney discussing his life as an actor and his version of what contributed to him getting fired as Adam.  In his own words he said it was his EGO!  From the podcast: "Michael you fucking idiot. You're your worst own enemy"!

http://thepelotonbrief.libsyn.com/podcast/phil-gaimon-mid-season-special-with-michael-muhney

Highlights:

In discussing how to say his last name he told that it gave him the nickname as a child of Puny Muhney.

Leg snapped in half in high school football practice by a bully who tormented him and thus ended any idea of playing sports.

On a recent career day at his son Truman's school he told his classmates, "Don't go into acting".

His mom, his biggest fan let him be the dreamer, whereas his father who didn't say no to his acting career, got him to buckle down and go to college which he did in Chicago.  That was where he got his 1st big break by Jane Alderman who died recently.  She got him his 1st gig on a CBS nighttime show, "Turks" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turks_(TV_series) right out of college.  It was filmed in Chicago and he got to save money something instilled in him by his father and later Ray Liotta who gave him the advice "to save for the down times".  He made big bucks on Veronica Mars which allowed him to save for the down times that would come.  Didn't know that he was in the "NCIS" pilot.  He tried out for Michael Weatherley's role, but lost out and was given another role in the pilot.  The role which was a spinoff from "Jag" was decided to be eliminated and thus he lost out on a continuing role when the show started.

He talked about his wife, Jamie who he met at a backyard barbecue; she was the sister of the showrunner for NCIS.  He said she was a stay-at-home mom so I guess she's not out there being the breadwinner while he's out of a job.

Then came a long conversation about "The Young and the Restless" which shoots from Tuesday to Friday.  The job gave him financial security and he bought his 1st and only home and presumably paid cash.  He said that he was a method actor and spent lots of time in his dressing room practicing his lines.  He admitted that he didn't really spend a lot of time interacting with other cast members.

It was about 3 1/2 to 4 years into his contract (they're renewed every six months) that he realized he wanted to get out and that's when he made his remark about his EGO!  He admitted that he agitated with EB that there be changes saying that he had literally turned into his character Adam.  That's when they announced they were letting him go which he realized he didn't want to happen.  He wrote a letter to SONY expressing his remorse and love for the show and character.  He said that after discussions they were going to make a decision whether to reinstate him after the Christmas holidays.  By that time he had already filmed the car crash death.  Unfortunately that didn't happen because of the TMZ story we all know about Hunter King.  It was a rumor and according to him was determined to have been started by an Internet lady in FL.  Six months later Y&R negotiated with him to come back as Adam, but as we all know he didn't and JH was cast in the role.  That was when he finally said to himself "Fare Thee Well" to Y&R.

5 years away from prime time he was back at the bottom again and still is.  He's job less and vying for prime time with lots of near misses.  He admitted that he'd like a 2nd chance at redemption on Y&R and seemed like a hint that perhaps he might get the chance.

The interview is long but worth listening to.

Why is Muhney on a podcast hosted by a pro cyclist? Are he and Phil Gaimon friends? Seems like a random place for him to spill his guts.

Muhney is an avid cyclist and in the pod cast it tells how they met in a neighborhood ride.  Gaimon is apparently retiring this year from the circuit and their talk was about what life is like in the world of entertainment when you've retired or been fired.

I find that hard to believe.  It doesn't add up.  All that hostility and leaking after the initial firing?  It doesn't add up.

I know we'll get bunnied for discussing MM but I'll just say this. HK went radio silent on Twitter for months during and after the "rumour." One she could have debunked for her own sake (she took enormous abuse online and does to this day because of the "rumour.") Her co-stars jumped to her defence, naming her, "supporting her." This "rumour" was published in legit newspapers far beyond TMZ and MM did not sue one for libel. Considering he has not been employed since in any meaningful way presumably because of the "rumour" he would have a strong case.

That's it. I have nothing to add.

Yep.

The rumor may or may not be true but something has to expain his being pretty much blacklisted in Hollywood. I don't think a huge ego is enough because that seems to come with the territory. He strikes me as someone who just doesn't play well with others, to a level that no one wants to deal with. I also think whatever really happened at Y&R is something the concerned parties can't talk about publicly for legal reasons. What the public has been fed via TMZ (from the ex-reporter husband of the head of CBS Daytime) and other outlets is likely an official cover story.

Didn't TMZ accuse MM of grouping HK? That doesn't sound like a very good cover story for CBS to create. Saying he had a drug problem or anger management issues or something like that would cause a lot less damage.

He could come back from a drug problem or an anger management issue. For whatever reason, TPTB meant to go scorched earth on him. I think groping a young woman is bad enough (even though many Hollywood actresses say they've been subjected to such behavior and worse, e.g., the casting couch) but I can think of things that would be worse than that and could lead to criminal charges and sex offender register status. (Just spitballing here, I have exactly zero facts to support such an actuality.) When soaps are already doing a slow Titanic-style dive, I can't image the TPTB would want to get caught up in the legal and media firestorm that would create. This way they've pretty much been able to "punish" him by killing his career and he can't really do anything about it.

LOL  tmz says/writes a lot of things, but i don't necessarily believe it all.....

I don't either but this was unusual in that a CBS official fairly openly fed the info to them. I can't see them/the network putting themselves in legal jeopardy if it was all a lie.

I question why CBS would care about throwing a bomb on his career, though. Their main concern would be to get him off the show. Him being fired and banned from ever getting hired on another CBS show would be enough punishment for them, I think. Anything that happens to him after that is for someone else to concern themselves with. Drug problems aren't a huge deal at this point, but sexual assault allegations causes people to gossip and ask questions and subjects HK to abuse. I'm not sure if ruining his career would be worth the headache they would have to deal with,

all tmz had to use was the word "allegedly"...

that takes care of it being "true" or not.

even tho brian mcdaniels is married to cbs vp of daytime or whatever her role is, it still doesn't make it true.

i would put it in the same vein as faux news saying hillary had a brain tumor and that's why she stumbled and almost fainted....

true, she stumbled and almost fainted, but false it was because of a brain tumor.

Apparently Jeanne Cooper did that with other actors who came on set. I think I remember Josh Morrow relating that.  But she was not fired or sent to be shamed.  Double standard, anyone?

Actually, it was Greg Rikaart, who related this about five years ago or so. I seem to recall it was during a book promo JC did when she wrote her memoir.

Could be, thanks. I remember it from she died and Y and R did a special about her with actors relating stories.  There were a few guys sitting around talking about her, and it may have been Greg.

I saw EB in a Perry Mason tv movie the other night. He was playing a washed up fashion photographer who gets murdered. The only significant thing about it was the actors who played his wife/ex wives. Shelley Hack, Maud Adams, Beverly Johnson, Kathy Ireland and Kim Alexis. A veritable Who's Who of eighties glamour girls.

Interview with Judith Chapman.

It's obvious they aren't going with a love story with Glack. Thank god. lol.

Awesome interview.  I and I like that it is left ambiguous, whether they actually did the deed.  I sensed that from Glo in those scenes, and that she was playing a con that could come in handy in the near future.

I think you meant to refer to Ironside, which also starred Raymond Burr, which was airing in the eighties. Of, course, that era (or the tail-end of it anyway) was also when the networks made a great many movies-of-the-week and limited mini-series, and maybe they did a an eighties TV movie version of Perry Mason.

Perry Mason The Case Of the Wicked Wives; 1993

EB was on The Talk today hawking his new memoir. He said he almost turned down the role in Titanic because it wasn't big enough. <rme>. He said some glowing things about Marlon Brando and James Cameron but nothing about any of his Y&R co-stars. They showed a clip of Victor playing chess with Faith and telling her how smart she is because she's a Newman.

How about the way he walked out and stood there to acknowledge the applause with that smirk on his face. He is such a diva!

There's literally 2.

SOD (which not even I have read in a year and is only sold in maybe one or 2 locations in entire city of Chicago). And CBS Soaps in Depth which covers only 2 shows and is a glorified fan magazine / advertising publication for the network.

LOL, I know, which is why the entire comment is ludicrous. Philly fans and Mal/GT want to put forward the idea that Philly is beloved by a majority of the audience and they just ~don't understand why Sally doesn't see it~

I have yet to understand why these magazines haven't folded yet. In the last decade we've lost AMC, GL, ATWT, Passions, OLTL and Days' fate is hanging in the balance as we speak. ABC Soaps in Depth (which actually still exists!) is only covering ONE show! LMAO!
