So, I find myself switching over to the "Finn is Luna's daddy" crowd, but I still think Li will blow a gasket because any paternity test she runs on Jack will show a familial connection to Luna because Jack is Finn's bio dad - but I still want there to be a big, dramatic reveal that Finn is Luna's daddy because I relish the joy of being able to watch il Principessa's head explode.

Making Luna Finn's daughter actually ties in why Steffy stuck her nose into Luna's storyline and got stuck in a cage.   It won't be a one off and Steffy could actually obsess over the fact that Luna is Finn's daughter and Hayes' sister rather than her +60 parents are playing hide the salami. Something new and different.

Steffy is borderline obsessive with her unrealistic concept that everybody's parents must be together happily ever after. If I were Li, I wouldn't get back together with Jack. Or looking guilty because she's thinking back to a certain night when she gave a stressed out Finn "mints" to help him relax for his upcoming finals but thinking that Jack will unwittingly take the fall because the DNA would show Luna and Jack share a relationship. I'm sure Li won't bother to see that it's not enough for him to be the father but a grandfather.  And Jack is already a proven cheater, having produced Finn with Sheila, and Li hates Poppy for...existing...and the possibility that her son has a child with his aunt would be too much for Li and she would drive herself off the closest pier sans assistant from Sheila this time.

I think she hates that Poppy exists and I think she blames Poppy for how Luna turned out.

My backstory for the sisters is that Poppy was the fun one, the baby of the family, and the favorite, while Li was seen as too serious, with her nose always in a book, trying to make their parents proud but they were too busy fawning over Poppy to notice. 

Poppy got all their attention and that of boys/men until Jack came along and Li thought she had finally had one over on her sister. She had her career as a doctor and an attractive husband at her side. Only he wasn't faithful and most of their marriage has been a lie as he not only had an affair, that affair produced the child she thought they both adopted. 

Even if Li is unhinged (maybe that's where Luna gets it from or possibly also from grandma Sheila along with auntie Li), I honestly can almost understand it with what she's been through. When you throw in her bringing Finn back from the dead and responsible for him being alive (yet where has anyone shown her any gratitude, Finn included, but certainly not snotty entitled Steffy), Sheila swoops in and Finn softens to his biological mother. The woman who nearly killed him and would have killed him, if not for Li, along with his slattern wife. Sheila also tried to kill Li, forcing her car off a pier, and who know what would have happened to her had Bill not found her. Finn may be Steffy's lapdog but he still has some tender emotions about Sheila. He hugged her, multiple times. He attended her wedding to Deacon when he could have walked away. He's called her mom. What a slap in Li's face.

It was just one line, but yesterday, when Li was running down her accusation about Jack and Poppy, she mentioned that she was working all the time, leaving Poppy in her home with Jack and Finn. I think that was supposed to be a little breadcrumb on the way to the final reveal. Yes, Poppy was there with Jack, but she was also there with Finn. 

If I had to take a guess, I'd say that the DNA test will show a relationship, and Jack, who knows he didn't sleep with Poppy, will do that math very quickly, and then he'll launch into protective mode and say "you're right. You got me." And then he'll spin some story of how he and Poppy got really drunk and hooked up one time. Poppy's anguished look at the end there was because she knows (or at least strongly suspects) that the DNA test is going to show a relationship, and then her secret will start unraveling. 

At least Poppy made mention of the fact that Li was doing a lot of shit without patient consent. I know Poppy is going to have bigger fish to fry as the truth starts leaking out, but a complaint against her would not be out of line. She's crossed so many ethical/professional lines over the past couple weeks. The DNA test for Luna and Tom, and now this test, and the way she was jabbing at Jack with the needles.

Did Hope give Carter the green light to turn on the charm and do what he has to do to “land” Daphne?  So Hope can’t blame Carter speaking softly and giving Daphne the “big stick”.  

I’m betting that even if Li finds out that Jack is not Luna’s father, she will still insist that Jack and Poppy slept together. 

 

From now on Stuffy will be known as Madam Stuffy.

I think I've finally figured out why Finn  likes Steffy, she's just like Li! He wanted a woman just like mommy, and he found it. And are the writers serious with Daphne The Teenage Witch? She not the least bit "seductive", and would probably be laughed at in reality with this routine.

It's been a long time since a character has bugged me as much as Daphne.  She sounds like she just woke up, and the notion that she would drop everything on a moment's notice, put her entire life on hold and fly 6,000 miles just to help her good pal Steffy is ridiculous even by soap standards.  Even the Bill-Luna story sounds more plausible to me.  If Steffy and Shnoz are that close, wouldn't somebody, anybody, have heard some hint about this friendship?  Even Ridge didn't know.

Daphne is such a caricature. Carter had a look on his face like he's on to her game by the end of the episode. 

I just don't buy that Li has suspected, ever since Poppy's pregnancy, that she and Jack hooked up. She thought he hooked up with her sister, but she just played happy couple for almost 20 years?  And, when she found out the Sheila shit, she didn't throw her suspicion that he also fucked her sister in his face?  Li is obviously not someone who keeps her grudges close to the vest. 

I'm guessing that the entire purpose of the Bill/Luna storyline, and the daily repeated conversations about how much Poppy fucked her up, is that they need to tidy Luna up a bit to make it somewhat acceptable for her to be free (eventually, I'm assuming this is the goal). If she's going to be Finn's daughter and a source of conflict for him and Steffy, then she can't be locked up. Steffy doesn't have to worry about what havoc she can create from behind bars. And Finn can only spend a little bit of time here and there visiting her in prison. She needs to be out and about to have impact. So, they need to try to mitigate what she's done to get there. I mean, it's not real life believable that "my mommy wouldn't tell me who my daddy was, and she slept around and was a general chaos monster," is a reason to show a double murderer leniency.  But, on a soap... weirder shit has gotten soap murderers out of prison. So they're going to hammer into our heads on a daily basis that Luna is a victim of Poppy's messy life choices, and Bill understands how she ended up that way, because he had a shitty childhood, too. So, we all need to cut her some slack.  Then, Luna is going to find out that Finn is her father, and that she was denied 20+ years of having a really good and decent guy, a successful doctor (for some of those years) as a loving father.  And she's also going to find out that her conception was way worse than "mom slept with a lot of dudes and wasn't sure who he was." So we're all going to be expected to have sympathy for her, because her mother is really fucked up and really screwed her over.

Gonna step out on a limb here because something has been circling around in my overactive brain. 

Maybe Poppy didn't do or give anything to Finn. Maybe Finn's latent crazy momma Sheila genes kicked in once when he was younger? I can see Finn coming home after a night out with his friends, maybe a little high, maybe a little drunk, and he starts to put the moves on hot Aunt Poppy who is not interested in reciprocating. Sheila never liked it when she didn't get her way, so all those psycho genes got stirred up in Finn that night, and he let Aunt Poppy know who was crazy boss, and Poppy has hid Luna's paternity to protect Finn, not herself. 

I know that is ugly and dark, but it would really create a pretty massive fault line in Steffy's perfect little world.

I really don’t like this new narrative where Poppy was such a horrific mother that of course Luna lashed out by killing two people. So… Steffy is straight up pimping out her so-called friend for her own gain and her friend is happy to be used that way. Are women allowed to have self respect on this show? Daphne designs scents between comas and is apparently well known for her seductive personality. I’m dying watching her weird, slouchy movements that I suppose are meant to be slinky. Unintentional comedy gold is going to be mined at rates never seen before. Daphne may be going for mysterious French vixen, but she lands like a constipated sleepwalker. I think Bell studied Pepe LePew when developing this character.

I wish that when Carter and Hope kissed and then got those goofy soap expressions on their faces, one had asked “who farted?” and then turned to find Daphne in the office.

Jack is NOT Luna’s father.  No surprise there but I wouldn’t be surprised if Finn is Luna’s father 🤞.    

Stuffy, please tell me why Daphne would be spending quite a few hours collaborating together?  Carter is not a “nose” nor a chemist to develop perfumes.  Is part of the agreement for Daphne to have a lab at FC and work exclusively for FC?  Is Daphne there to work or to seduce Carter?  

I laughed when Madam Stuffy bolted the door to speak to Daphne. Wouldn’t that create suspicion is someone tried to come in?  

Next week there seems to be an intense conversation between Poppy and Finn. It doesn’t seem out of the realm of the monkeys with a keyboard for Finn to all of a sudden remember that he plaid hide the pickle with Poppy.

What's been presented on this show as a legitimate method for testing for DNA matches between individuals is COMPLETELY bogus - it looks more like a home pregnancy test than an actual DNA test - for one thing, there isn't a DNA test, including paternity testing, in the world that doesn't involve sending in the sample to a lab for testing, and you don't get back a stick with a line showing, or not showing, on it, you get a printout showing the method used for testing the samples, a summary of the results of that test and a conclusion on what the results mean.

Actually, I think Romy Parks shows a lot more range and depth of expression than Naomi Matsuda, who strikes me as being a rather one-note actor, like most of the other actors on the show.
