I've been trying to locate a SoCal CBS affiliate interview I saw with KKL and TK when he was first introduced on B&B. They were sitting next to each other, facing the reporter. The unshaven and wrinkled TK was leaning as far away from the glossy KKL as he could get, like she was the one who hadn't showered -- weird and awkward. And his grooming and body language remained the same in his first episodes; upper body leaning or turned away from KKL, holding her at arm's length, no acknowledgement or warmth, speaking away from her and not meeting her gaze. KKL was shining all her light on TK and he was having none of it. It was the complete reversal of Brooke and Ridge's historic DESTINY Couple.

Was his dispassionate attitude due to TIIC direction of NuRidge -- to physically and emotionally reject his history with Brooke outright/ to pursue Katie with random poetry and a red ribbon/ to conflate the rivalry with $Bill and dramatically lose his ability to draw/ to seduce Caroline by making it a personal attack on CEO Rick? I don't know, but I sense it has as much to do with how TK wanted NuRidge to be presented and perceived, as it was for TIIC to establish NuRidge as not the OldRidge.

At least TK had the benefit on not being a mid-story recast like most of the new Y&R hires over the past two years. But still, as much as I'm glad that Bridge is finally dead (and needed to be put out of its misery back when Thomas's paternity was revealed and he left to be with Taylor, frankly) it's odd that they don't interact....at all. He's had more screen time with Landing Dock Guy than Brooke.

I dunno, I wish they had some kind of middle ground between no interaction and the path of destruction they used to be when Moss was in the role.

I think her hatred of him was entirely because he stood in the way of Wyatt getting what he wanted (or what she wanted for him).  I think that, now that she's fallen for him, she'll be focused on the win/win of keeping him away from Steffy for Wyatt's happiness and her own happiness.

I must be obsessed with the ridiculousness of this show. Last night I had a dream that I dated some guy during one weekend, then married him the next. Well, unlike Wyatt and Steffy, at least we didn't giggle our way through the vows! Is the giggling thing something that the youngins are doing these days? I remember wondering if Caroline was watching one of George Carlin's stand-up routines during her wedding.

What a Grade A Ass. I figured out partially why he's so off-putting to me. He has this vibe going of the aging British rockstars who are still touring to their baby-boomer fans (the ones with any ear drums left) and hooking up with women 1/4 their age and becoming new fathers at age 65+,

 

If he feels such disdain for his older female co-stars, then it doesn't make any sense that he'd want to be paired with RS.

 

I wish that TPTB had just gone ahead and killed off Ridge when RM departed. TK could have been brought on as a new character.

I think Liam's beard length and it's rattiness is supposed to let us know just how long Liam's been out of it. Once he gets his memories back and is reunited with the land of the living, it'll be back to normal $Bill style maintenance.

 

They really missed the boat having Deacon splash up on the beach during the wedding alive and lunging at Quinn. But given how she sweet talked her way with Wyatt after he confronted her with the tape, she probably would've been able to convince everyone that Deacon was crazy mad at her after they broke up and Wyatt, Bill, or Ridge would deck him/knock him out before he could say anything and hauled back to wake up in prison ::shakes head::

I'm so over Quinn. She is the queen of manipulation. She's trying to guilt trip Liam with her taking care of him when that could have been remedied by a freaking doctor. This story just needs to end.

At least it's finally moving towards the progression point we were waiting for: Liam finally recovering his memory, or some major fragment thereof.  That said, with that light at the end of the tunnel, I still have to dock the show for not being very good about progression in general for this story...perhaps mostly the buildup to Deacon going over the cliff, especially since just about all of us saw that coming, and then in a more general sense Quinn's falling for Liam.  There were scattered moments that were surprisingly graceful, and a decent amount of schlock--which was required for this to work at all, or even have a chance to--but a lot of them...really weren't.  (A sidebar for how the show tended to gloss over, though it did address, Liam being "missing.")

 

OTOH...I've said it before, and I'm saying it again...the music supervisor deserves a damn raise.

After so many years of antagonism, threats and competition for the spoils of the House of Forrester and Spencer, they have too much history for Quinn to sweep aside. TK as a wholly new character wouldn't have been a bad idea. He could come and go between his outside acting projects and family interests, without seizing up the progress of B&B. 

 

As CEO Ridge ought to be around sniping and directing the FC Frolics, instead of disappearing for weeks at a time taking his pregative wife (and Rape Night With Thomas) SL with him. It was a mistake to reconfigure and recast Ridge Forrester into a supporting character.

 

My disappointment is how TIIC have made TK the hub of Forrester Creations shenanigans, but isn't present for any of it. There's an empty chair in the front office, a vacuum where Ridge Forrester should be presiding.

 

Clothing is waaay down the list from the front burner Wyatt/ Steffy/ Liamnesiac/ Quinn SL that has consumed B&B. Other than a repeat of the insulting Insta-Alcoholic SL featuring Katie, and Brooke trailing $Bill, the Who's the Daddy of Doug? SL has had to clawback its momentum with TKs return and it's a stupefying bore.

This is possibly a UO, but I like the idea of the shady doctor blackmailing Ridge.  It will definitely amp up the WTD SL and add another complication to CaRidge.  Because you know he'd tell her and make her feel guilty that he's doing this to protect their family and "their" son.

 

I cannot get on board with CaRidge because TK Ridge looks and acts like Caroline's Daddy and she stands there wide eyed and does everything he says, acting like a dutiful daughter, not a wife.

 

Every time I see CarTom together she looks as if she's about to crack and tell him everything.  Not that I think Thomas's behavior was acceptable, but he deserves to know Douglas is his.  And I firmly believe the child is Thomas's.  This would be pure soap gold -- "not a real Forrester", 2nd generation.  

 

I was on a hiatus when Eric learned Ridge wasn't his biological son, but it seems he rolled with the news and has never considered Ridge anything else. With TK Ridge I always see him working  hard to accept Doug as his,  He says all the right things about "our" son and "our" family to Caroline.  He says them alot,  But I don't feel the conviction behind the words. Methinks he doth protest too much.

 

And of course the secret of Douglas's real paternity coming out would amp the RidgeRick feud up to atomic levels.

 

Oh and I'm so looking forward to the LMR (Liam Memory Return) to see him and Wyatt go off on her,  Bonus points if Deacon appears in the middle of it.

I agree about Caroline and Ridge. I don't like them at all. Its among the reasons why I find Quinn and Liam gross too (there are a few reasons there). Quinn comes across like a mother while Liam comes across as a kid. At least that is beginning to change.

This is where I also still am with them. I didn't mind it on AMC when TK was paired with a much younger woman because she never acted weak and submissive with him the way Caroline does with Ridge. Sure they disagree sometimes but she always gives in. Always. And Ridge has this "my way or no way" position he seems to take with every woman, or at least the TK version does. We're getting engaged? Sure but you'll take this ribbon and be satisfied with it for months on end even though you know I can afford a real friggin' ring. We're getting married? Sure but you don't get to plan it or invite your mommies or friends because I've already decided on the immediate place and time. Ugh.

I mean, Liam should basically be luggage-free and Quinn didn't actually live there (right?) so her belongings should be minimal. Yet in the time they've been packing, Wyatt courted Steffy, proposed, threw together a beach wedding and got married. I mean, I know that whole "romance" moved at lightning speed, but why the heck is this one going at a snail's pace?! And it's the same conversation every day...sadly making me long for basically any other storyline even though they're just as bad.

Maybe it's TK's acting choices? Ridge has always stepped up to the plate to father all of Brooke's children, even going so far as to take the rap for Rick's shooting of Grant Chamber. It's one of original recipe Ridge's few good traits.

I enjoyed Wyatt's reaction, the slow realization of what was going on, but the best part was how Quinn's face changed from lovin' Eve to Quinnsane.  And she was looking at Wyatt!  She didn't try to cover up, she wasn't flustered, her whole visage just changed.  Looking forward to tomorrow.

I won't even lie--I would have loved it if Wyatt had come in perhaps ninety seconds later.  Say, while Liam had Quinn's blouse off and was nuzzling her neck or something...just for that one last nudge over the line.  That said, it was a nearly perfect cliffhanger--hell, even the normally already epic BGM got punched up a notch for it (seriously, they went all the way to BWAAAMMM)--that really needed to be a Friday episode, because I'm not sure what the subsequent fallout is going to be yet or if it'll live up to it.

 

And I'm probably the only one hoping that Justin and Donna got back together offscreen, but screw it.

What did happen to Donna? Is JG still on the show? She hasn't appeared on the show since Brooke and Katie's last falling out over $Bill.

This show has a horrendous habit of just fading characters out with no explaination, like when Taylor just left town in her pajamas, Moss imo was escorted out of his office or when Nick, for whom many a change to the show was made to accommodate Jack Wagner's salary and inflated ego, just disappeared from the canvas without a word.

Meanwhile idiot Hope got a better send than all of those folks.

Wyatt's reaction --- priceless! Yes. Today's show would have been an ideal Friday cliffhanger. I would have even suffered through two days of Raya/Nicole/Zende/Sasha or WTD Part 9,298: "Douglas" for that.

 

If they updated the credits to correct last names and add Sasha, would it have been too much trouble to throw in better pictures of TK and RS? They added a new one of LG. Deacon and Ivy were still there so they must be planning a return sooner or later.

Me, too. Nearly everyone from that original version of this intro is gone, and the insertions look like a hot mess.

The last intro was pretty easy to fit new photos into and wasn't as dated at the very first intro that still had shots inserted from the very first season.

I'm glad Wyatt was spared seeing Quinn and Liam actually doing it. He already has to deal with his mother's insanity and now coming in second to Liam with her just like with all the other women in his life.

I think Wyatt is a tool for constantly going after Liam's women but I do feel bad that even his mother would choose Liam over him. That's f'd up and if Quinn turns on the person she supposedly does everything for - what then? Jeez, she would screw over the only two people who genuinely cared about her.

Wyatt busting up another round of Rape the Amnesiac was just everything. His horror, his fury (I never have forgotten how Wyatt saved Liam from Quinn and the sword - a rare but nice moment of brotherly affection), how he started putting everything together - you could almost hear the click, click, click, including, I'm sure his mind flashing back to the security footage. 

 

SC's Liam looked every inch the victim he is as he almost cowered away from Wyatt, his memories still gone (but for the flashes of Steffy, of course) but his sinking realization that he's in a very, very bad situation. 

 

RS's Quinn who didn't look the least bit sorry and you just know she'll be all, but baby, I did it all for YOOOUUUUU! So you could be with Steffy.

 

Steffy will run right back to Liam when honestly? She should keep her puffy, awful haired ass parked right where it is. Yes, Wyatt is as thirsty as the day is long but once he falls for someone, he's 100% committed to them but every.single.woman has been so caught up in the scent of waffles, they just keep running back to a man whose loyalty changes depending on how the wind blows (or is it how the syrup flows?)

I cannot believe I'm saying this but I wish KM/Hope would return (the one we saw briefly a few weeks ago with the mature attitude and great hair) and reunite with Liam once and for all so Puffy can go kick rocks. As for Wyatt, I think Sasha will quickly bore of Zende (as pretty as his abs may be) and I could get on board with that pairing.

I couldn't help but notice - thanks in part to this thread - that unlike most soap brides, Steffy actually looked like she'd engaged in an all-night tumble.  Chickenhead's legend lives on!  lol

I would love it if this made Liam grow a pair and end it with the Bratz doll for good.

I cannot believe I'm saying this but I wish KM/Hope would return (the one we saw briefly a few weeks ago with the mature attitude and great hair) and reunite with Liam once and for all so Puffy can go kick rocks.

There's no one on this show that I'd wish Liam on, except maybe Maya. I want Steffy and Hope both to move on from this worthless Ridge knockoff and stop the cycle of suck that their mothers would still be apart of if Ronn Moss hadn't quit the show.

I am watching live from my desk at work and today's episode is GOOD! Also Steffy looks really pretty. She needs to do something about that unfortunate hair, though.

 

I'm going to have to watch again because I'm keeping the volume low, but Wyatt is cracking me up with how horrified he is. Quinn is so fucking crazy she's ready to "part ways" with her son for Liam. And CountryGirl, he quoted you: The jig is up!

 

I also like how Wyatt said he wished he could say she's insane but the bitch has no conscience!

I think the show officially glossed over a timeskip here--Steffy said to Bill that she had gotten the "Get a life" voicemail a month or so ago.

 

That aside, this actually was a really good episode.  Albeit carried almost entirely by the force of Quinn's crazy, Stephanie-on-a-bender logic about how Liam changed her--and her him--and how Wyatt would lose everything if he flipped on her...and damn if Rena Sofer wasn't awesome at that.  Chickenhead just got to stand there and cycle through WTF faces, though with the occasional "You need help, Mom!" zinger thrown in, and Liam finally got to remember something useful.  And it was all accompanied by the usual, increasingly epic, background music.  Well done, show.  Well done.
