For people who collected Beanie Babies, etc., the "rare" ones were usually kept sealed somehow, the tags needed to remain intact and not played with in any way.

With "collectible" leggings, how does that work?  Do people buy them and not wear them?  Do they keep them encased in plastic and displayed on a shelf?  When people come over to visit, do they say, "and here is my delightful collection of Lularoe Leggings!  Look, I have the very rare "Satanic Chihuahua" print!  And rarer still, the "Stephen King's Worst Nightmare Clown" print!  And this one?  It's....well, I think it's the Seven Dwarfs riding in an airplane made of Cheetos...or something like that...but it's really super rare!  NO YOU CAN'T TRY THEM ON!!"

Hahahahaha!  Oh yeah, "here's my Luluroe collection.  If I open them, they'll lose 1/2 their value.  If I dare actually WEAR a pair, they'll shred and my ass will be hanging out for all to see.  I hope I remembered to put on underwear..."

Meri has mentioned on social media the wait to join her LLR Facebook group is very long. Does anyone know why? What is the approval process? You would think she would want her potential customer group to be as large as possible.

I think the wait crap is bull. There probably aren't many wanting to join. Once you have, a list of new members is available to view. If she says there's a waiting list, it's either because she's trying to sell how great the group is, or she doesn't want current members to know there aren't more people jumping in.

That's my take on it.

I think the wait is solely for Maddie to quickly investigate the prospective group member and determine if it's a fake Jackie Overton account.

What's she up to? Does she still pretend to be the guy?

Just looked at "his" website after a long time and damn, you gotta give her credit for hanging in there. I don't think I've ever seen such dedication. Looks like "he" got married, too! I can't find the post announcing it, though.

Just a warning, SJC - I think your wife is a gold digger. LOL.

I think that's weird, and she is vetting applicants to her group thoroughly. B

Meri always looks so self-conscious and uncomfortable in her pictures.  It makes me uncomfortable to look at her.

I saw a girl wearing what had to be LulaRoe leggings on the bus today.  Purple with a print of what looked like the decapitated head of a screeching cat all over it.  They were actually a little disturbing.

Meri posted a pic in a LLR outfit. Someone commented that she saw an episode in season 6 where Meri stated she'd never wear leggings as pants. Funny!

Even the trolley isn't real.

That is one horrible outfit. Not even the shoes match. I hope to God she spends some of the money she's making (from LLR or TLC) and buys herself some fashion sense. Because that outfit unequivocally demonstrates she has none.

I actually think this outfit is 1000x better than the Coochie cutting jeans and sausage casing long sleeves under spaghetti tank tops. With some ruffles and/or Ed Hardy print of course.

If she took the bathrobe off she would look like every other woman who thinks they look good in leggings.  (you don't, trust me)

Haha. Good, maybe not. Better than the weird layers and tight jeans, definitely.

It's all over the place. Is it workout time (tights)? Work time as a nurse (scrubs-looking top)? Or is it time for bed (pink bathrobe)?

It's WHIMSICAL and CAREFREE. See how carefree and relaxed Meri is? Not a care in the world, and she has the quirky, empoweing outfit to prove it!

I am trying to figure out what's on her feet. The rest I recognize - shirt, leggings, bathrobe.

What's realty awful to me is how much that outfit (for lack of a better term) costs. $25 for leggings that should cost $6-10, $36 for a shirt that you could probably pick up at old Navy or H&M for $12-15, and $70 for a duster which I've seen similar at H&M for $15.

There's similar looking scrubs at the local Good Will for even less than that. And the bathrobe was $70?!

Here's why Meri thinks this works:  (1) Leggings are blue and there is blue in the top.  (2) Bathrobe is pink and there is pink in the top.  There also appears to be pink in the shoes.

Pop up tomorrow, she'll post where, tomorrow. Pop up tomorrow in Vegas, she's getting six new boxes of inventory today. It's all just strange, to me.

Or clothes with a name.  The Carlys and Irmas, are people named Carly or Irma the only ones invited?  Just so stupid.

My family is having a huge garage sale tomorrow. My sister and I were tagging our crap today, including a ton of clothes. I saw a pair of leggings on her table that were kinda cute in my colors, purple and fuchsia. Sis said I could have them, saying "You'll love them, THEY'RE LULALROE!" Ack! I took them but said I would have to come here and confess my sins. I promise not to wear them as pants @Kohola3. The one thing that is really weird about them is they appear to be really high waisted.

The prices on this stuff amaze me.  Meri's "outfit" is even uglier than the one she wore on the Tell-Nothing.

And she has a "waiting list" for the opportunity to buy this shit from her?  Astounding.

Oh gosh, I am not a Lularoe fan but Meri looks so much better in these clothes than in her overly tight jeans and layered t-shirts with a scowl on her face and picking eye buggers.  And as Stacy and Clinton of What not to Wear always said, it doesn't have to "match", it just has to "go" and I think the outfit "goes", not that I would wear any of if. But the said Stacy and Clinton would find her better fitting clothes anywhere else.

I just saw someone downstairs at a hotel (I'm traveling) who appeared to be wearing LLR. She looked about middle age and was wearing teal leggings and a colorful flared tunic (with teal in it). I thought she looked fine, but nothing outstanding in a good or bad way. What's crazy to me is that people pay so much money for the LLR name. I promise you can recreate the same look (and probably similar quality) from even Walmart. LLR has to be - for the most part - suburban mom clique attire. To be "cool," you must wear LLR. How very juvenile ...

Having said that, I can see why some women like it, though. I wear dusters (bathrobes!) with skinny jeans often. I like the look, so I actually get that. What I'll never get is leggings on any and every body and especially the ridiculous prints that women are fighting over just so they can be the star of the neighborhood clique.

Walmart clothes--even though they're not high quality--are probably less likely to rip when you put them on which is sad 'cause as you said, for the prices people pay for LLR the tights damn well should not rip.

I've never noticed the suburban mom LLR thing. I tend to do my own thing clothes-wise so I'd never fit in........love my Miss Me blingy jeans and heels or cowboy boots but I'll be on the lookout today for LLR-ers.

I was at a monthly dinner last night and one of the women was definitely wearing LLR leggins. I honestly didn't notice the top because it was nondescript. The leggins jumped out at me went we got up to leave. What I noticed first was how chubby she looked. Then I noticed the pattern. Gah! This is a youngish person who always looked fit to me before. During these dinners, I would marvel at how she could eat so much and still look so good.

She looked exactly the same sitting at the table, so I don't think she gained any significant weight. These leggings, and the decision to wear them as pants, didn't do her any favors. Might as well have been patterned panty hose.

I was late to What Not to Wear and I REALLY wish they would bring it back.  It was so helpful!  Even if you didn't like what they chose they gave good hints/tricks.

What does it mean to wear leggings as pants? Aren't they a type of pant? I wear leggings and am all of a sudden concerned I'm committing some sort of faux pas.

Seriously, these leggings. Isn't it a well known fashion fact that horizontal stripes and decapitated cats make your ass look fat?

Meri continues to exhibit poor judgment.

Leggings should never be worn so that everything is displayed to the public.  They need to be worn with a long top or covering  There are whole websites with some pretty horrendous pictures of women who do not seem to know that seeing the "camel toe" in your crotch (see idiot in gray leggings below) is appropriate or acceptable.

Add some obscene LLR print and it becomes doubly nauseating.

Leggings were designed to be worn with short dresses, tunic tops, or very long sweaters.  They are too stretchy and too thin to be used as regular pants and will show a lot more than most people want to reveal if worn as regular pants.  Panty lines, camel toes, plus the pattern on underwear and your semi-bare rear end showing through are all possibilities if treating thin knit material only slightly heavier than tights as real pants.

I do wear leggings even at my age but only with mid thigh or longer tops because no one needs to see the upper thighs on a retiree.

OK. I've been seeing this in a few posts (about not wearing leggings as pants). Since I'm a man, clothing is very simple: If it goes on your legs, it's pants or shorts; and if it goes on your torso, it's a shirt. So, I have to ask: How do you wear leggings as not pants? They extend nearly the full length of the leg. Wouldn't that make them pants? And if they weren't meant to be seen, wouldn't that make them underwear? And if so, why would people care as much about what they look like? Thank you for helping the simpler gender to understand the complex issues you face in your day-to-day lives.

Edited to add: If I had been a little more patient, I would have seen @Kohola3's and @Absolom's posts before posting mine. That said, I'm going to leave mine up because it's here now. But my questions have been answered. Thank you, @Kohola3 and @Absolom!

I've seen some leggings that I believe are LLR around town.

I have to say this - the people who say they're the same as yoga pants or workout bottoms from Lululemon, Fabletics, etc etc are really deluding themselves because LLR does NOT make your ass look great, I could see cellulite lines.

LLR rips.  Even if you have the best ass in the world, it will look sloppy if hanging out of cheaply made leggings.

You mean like this?  I know they are not LLR but same impact.  Don't these women every look in a mirror?

My biggest objection to Lular is that the clothes look CHEAP. They look poorly made, wrinkly, raggedy, untailored, just cheap. I don't think I've ever seen one cute outfit that I would want to replicate. Love the way the New York housewives dress and ladies of London, they look expensive, fine fabrics/cuts --- just the total opposite of Meri's rags. (And ironically, her cheap crap is so overpriced for Walmart quality. ) I would never want to wear what she would wear. She has horrible taste. Bad taste in decor, bad taste in men, bad taste in makeup, bad taste clothes.

Scenarios like that scream "I live alone so no one told me my underwear was hanging out."

ETA - the only LLR coordinated outfit I saw in real life was on a recent cruise.  A non-thin woman in her 50s was in a leggings and top "set" that looked like it should have had Garanimal labels on it.
